The folks behind the counter were really friendly and welcoming and the blondie cake I bought was one of the best I've had.

Fantastic eatery with great food, freshly cooked and excellent, friendly service. Highly recommended!

Welcoming staff and lovely place. The muffin was gorgeous. However, the place got crowded quickly so it was quite noisy and there was no internet connection on the inside.

Unexpectedly I found myself in Coulsdon South waiting for my car and needing to fill 2 hours. The town center it self is quite unloved, but seems to have a few gems. And Grumpy Goose is one of them quaint little restaurants with an interesting menu. I had breakfast, the rest of the menu looks delicious and a bit different. Full of goodness. The food was well presented and cooked with love and care. The service and staff very friendly and attentive. The only criticism I would have is that the beans were flavoured with herbs, but this is a personal preference I prefer traditional beans. The coffee was good.

The coffee at grump goose is the best in Coulsdon. When I eat in I love the eggs benedict and morning treat is their amazing almond croissants!

I loved the cafe, and the servers were so helpful and friendly but the English breakfast did not hit the spot very bland ... having said that the sourdough toast was one of the best I have ever had .. I would go back for a sourdough sandwich .

I want to give my money to small business but I must say the service needs to improve, the staff are pretty blunt and not welcoming, the Sweetner is always hard so I have to use mine at home, I’ve gone back to Nero not because I prefer it but for the service, hoping there’s some improvements as I’d like to go back

Great Englisg Breafast tea, loose leaves all served in a pot. Salt beef bagel fresh with lots of filling. Never fails to delight us. Nice atmosphere with a varied menu and friendly, swift service.

Oh guys such a shame, we used to go to Cyco and it was so so good, but not anymore, food was mediocre, lack of flavour, coffee also . Sweetener was rock hard , and mayo expired. Lots if improvement needed. Good luck!

Really disappointed by the staff, I came yesterday on my own and really struggled to get in with my push chair as there was a step and I was trying to hold the door open and get in, however not 1 single person helped me. The 2 people behind the counter just stared over at me. I live in coulsdon and as a new mum this really upset me and for that I will not be returning.

Update: I visited again, downgraded for grumpy service. Update: went in today for a lovely cup of tea and my favourite: croissant with feta and spinack filling. Excellent!! Lovely place for coffee, breakfast or lunch. Feta and spinach croussant was delicious. Cappuccino tasty and not too sweet. Tea comes with all the cute paraphernalia. Cute!

The banofee Nutella fluffy pancakes were amazing, especially with a generous serving of Nutella. Tried their poppy seed roll too. Definitely recommend the jalapeno with pink onion croissant, with 2 types of cheese.

Nutella cruffnuts, cronuts or muffnuts - not exactly sure what these are called, but they are deep fried sugar coated deliciousness. There's a fine array of other baked goods too! The hot coffee is very good, and we appreciated the friendly service and cosy atmosphere.

Thai cafe changed its name recently but there is no change in the excellent quality of coffee and cakes. The staff are always smiling and welcoming and it's generally a lovely place to be.

Tasty food on offer, nice smoothies, coffee and many cakes and buns. Chocolate brownie with a dollop of biscoff on top was sublime.

We stopped by to pick up a quick takeaway brunch, well, that was the plan anyway. We went straight in and ordered at the counter. As we were not told otherwise we assumed the food would be with us within 5-10minutes max. Having worked in kitchens for 15 years of my life, I don’t think that’s an unreasonable waiting time for what we ordered. Not once did either of the staff behind the counter let us know what was happening with our order. Unfortunately the food took over 20 minutes to be with us. Which is too long to wait for, seeing as we only ordered a salt beef bagel and a chorizo toastie. The food itself wasn’t particularly great either. Certainly not worth the wait! The salt beef bagel was predominantly filled with rocket and sauerkraut which completely overwhelmed the 2 measly slices of “salt beef” which looked like they were straight from the supermarket deli section. Wafer thin and little to no flavour. The chorizo, tomato and chilli jam sourdough toastie sounded lovely. Unfortunately that is where it stopped. The bread was greasy, the fillings tasted like they were from a supermarket shelf. And to top it off, it was served with a nice warm salad on the side. Not sure if we were just unlucky or whether they should just stick to dine in only.

I came in today after a long hike hoping to have something to warm me up. I was served a latte instead of the flat white, normally I'll be very tolerant of this, but when I asked for this to be changed, my server was unwilling and reluctant. I found her attitude quite rude, and will not be coming back

I usually love this place, however, today in the middle of my order the staff member serving me interrupted me and started speaking to a colleague of hers. She wasn't very friendly which is unlike this place! I ordered a cappuccino for my dad as it was his birthday, really sad it was so empty and frothy. Feel a bit disappointed as I rave about this place to everyone and now I wish I just made my coffee at home. The cardamon bun and biscoff bun were delicious though. Thank you bakery team.

Since I have a dog, it is important for me to eat in a dog friendly cafe and good thing I finally found one! They also serve good coffee and pastries!

Don't order Eggs Benedict. First serving was cold (not even luke warm). Second time around was a bit warmer but "bun" was not toasted, nor buttered, ham was cold from fridge and hollandaise shal we say "interesting". If you're going to put it on menu, please train staff to make it. Awful.

Went for breakfast to today to try since new management. Was very disappointed. The pancakes were burnt, the croissant was also burnt. They got my order wrong and needed to change the egg from poached to fried and this took over 15minutes to re arrive when my the others had finished their food. Staff were not very friendly either. Spent £60 will not be coming back again.

I used to love this place but a lot has changed since the rebrand. The new Staff are definitely not as friendly and as welcoming as the previous ones which is such a shame. Why change something that was working so well? Pastry selection seems a bit sparce now too. I may still pop in to grab a coffee but no longer my go to place .

I found this cafe earlier this year before the rebrand and it became my go to spot the portions were good, the food was nice and the employees lovely but now it seems that the food quantity has gotten smaller which is a big let down ! I compared the pictures from before and I was shocked don’t get me wrong the brekkie is still lovely but it’s just disappointing because I used to be full by the end and now I go home and have to eat more. I needed to kill a couple of hours while my car was getting serviced. The staff here were friendly, pleasant, and efficient and I was able to work while enjoying a couple of cappuccinos and one of the best cinnamon rolls I’ve ever eaten!

Best local cafe however the new staff are not as friendly as before unfortunately. Now I get a take away only not worth sitting in.

They seem to be selective on who they serve first or quick as opposed to first come first served!!!. Which is ridiculous in this time and age. I will still go there because they have good quality ingredients for breakfast and Fair to good coffee, only had black Americano, so no major skills required but good quality beans was evident. Mind you, very thin toasted bread made it rock hard, everything else tasted great. Also a sign says to wait to be seated but it does not say you need to order and pay at the counter, so you just sit and wait and no body comes, only when you ask, they say 'oh sorry you need to order at the counter', really ? Change the sign!! So food is good; service, welcoming, friendliness is not so good. Hope it was a bad day/hour for the girls serving as it is a shame to down rate the hard work to establish this good business because of that. Remember, you forget what people give you but you never forget how they make you FEEL..

Best coffee in Coulsdon and great food too. You can order at the till or using a QR code at your table. Hot Food is also available for takeaway. Staff are very helpful and work hard. There is a coffee loyalty card available for regulars which can now be added to your Google/Apple wallet. Dog friendly!

good coffee but 15minute wait for two coffees with only one coffee order in front seems a while. Also one latte was piping hot which isn’t ok. Not the friendliest of service today.

If you’re looking for some good quality breakfast to start the day. Then you better come to Cyco. Their food and their teas are amazing and I was served by the lovely ladies who are polite and hardworking. Gave them a well deserved tip, I have been coming here for almost a year now and won’t stop coming anytime soon ❤️

We drove 30 mins for brunch and specifically rang up beforehand to ensure not a wasted trip and asked when the last order for brunch was today. I was told 3:45. On arrival at 14:30 I was told the kitchen is shut by the same member of staff who went bright red when she realised she had made an error on the phone and misinformed us. She made a lame excuse about the phone line being poor when we heard her perfectly fine. As the error was on her part and the chef was still in the kitchen, I did request If they can make an exception and make us something warm to eat but was simply told no. Appalling customer service with a feeble apology. The food is good but let down by the service as it’s often cold and simple requests such as extra hot drinks are ignored. Will not be returning.

Butchers Breakfast is expensive at £11.95p without a tea or coffee, but it’s worth it. Excellently cooked and very tasty. Recommend

A great little cafe to grab breakfast on a weekend. Atmosphere and vibe was great, super dog friendly - our cocker spaniel was comfortable there. We had the farmers and butchers breakfast which was sublime. I don't usually eat black pudding because it never tastes great, but so far it's the best black pudding I've ever tasted. The beans are a chunkier and had a crunch to it, which if you're not used to your beans done that way can be off putting. Coffee was brilliant, just the right level of kick. Service was great! Everything done through a QR code to save you the trouble of waiting to pay or order. It does get very warm in there, and I'd encourage getting some sort of airflow going.

First and last visit. Short haired hostile woman serving. Coffees came up tepid, my partner politely asked if he could change his from almond milk to normal milk as it was incredibly sweet and he wasn’t enjoying it, only to be told by the miserable disgruntled lady behind the counter that he world have to pay again for a coffee that was drinkable (at £3.60 a pop) we told them not to bother. Breakfast turned up, was ok, grit in the spinage and mushrooms. £27.50 down we left, my partner still having not had a cup of coffee. No one asked us how the food was and no one said thanks or good bye as we left. Over priced and all round hostile bad customer service. Will not be returning

My avocado sourdough toast was delicious and I also treated myself to a refreshing glass of iced tea. Great staff lovely service.

If I could give less I would. Coming from a family that has owned and run coffee shops for years I can honestly, hand on heart, say this was the worst cappuccino I have ever had the misfortune to drink. In fact I could not drink it. It tasted like chicory and was so very bitter and burnt tasting. I was so looking forward to trying an independent but would have been better off going to Cafe Nero next door. Very, dry disappointing

Love this place, it is a favourite with the whole family. The coffee and food are great and love that the custom menu options are so flexible. It's the staff who make the difference though. Rosie and the newest lady on the team are such an asset. Their warm and friendly nature with customers make this the place to choose over the many other eateries in Coulsdon.

What a find! Came across this place by accident when we were in the area. Great coffee and lovely brunches. Prices are very reasonable and the service was good too.

Very poor quality. Ordered their 'Butchers Breakfast. Luke warm, dried up bacon and congealed baked beans. The egg was over cooked. Would not recommend now. It used to be very nice, but standard has slipped alot
