Just had an amazing lunch at smoke + ash. The menu is so good and the staff are lovely. 100% best pizza in Brum! Will defo be going back :)

Incredible pizzas! Tasty and so fresh! Delicious and interesting cocktail menu. The service here is also amazing. The entire team are efficient, friendly and welcoming. Alice and Sophie especially made us feel taken care of and like eating at a friend’s place. Will 100% be returning!

The pizza arrived within 5 mins of order, before the drinks arrived. Started eating before we could have a drink! But paid the 10% automatic service charge anyway as i dont like to complain.

This is the best pizzeria in Birmingham and quite possibly in the Midlands. I’ve been here on Corporate functions, couples and family and have always had a great time. We visited with our kids on Sunday and loved it. The staff are really accommodating and even brought out a load of toys for the kids to play with in case they got bored. 10/10 for everything!

Great pizza, friendly staff, reasonable prices. It's usually fairly relaxed and quiet here but can be busy at weekends, especially if someone has rented the side room for a birthday or event. The pizzas are on a par with Otto in Jewellery Qtr so we tend to go either here or there depending on which side of the city centre we're on.

One of if not the best pizza I've had, also the staff are very welcoming and very easy to get on with. Great vibes also with lovely decor, would definitely recommend and will be eating here again.

I went to Smoke and Ash with my family for lunch, the pizzas were fabulous with great options for vegetarians. The service was excellent, in really comfortable surroundings. The best pizza I’ve had in Birmingham, I would wholeheartedly recommend.

As pizza lovers we have been to lots of pizza places, but since discovering Smoke & Ash we don't go anywhere else. They have always been so warm and welcoming, especially with kids, and of course the pizza (gorgonzola and pear all time fave) and cocktails (chilli and yuzu margaritas please) are stunning. The above led us to approach them to ask if they would host a small wedding reception for us and our nearest and dearest (around 30 people) which Clare and Paul accepted enthusiastically. They were so easy to work with especially in the run up to our big day, nothing was too much trouble and they absorbed much of the stress that comes with planning any event let alone your own wedding. When it came to the day, the room was decorated beautifully (by Sophie I believe) and everything from the food to the service was flawless. The staff were so genuinely kind, relaxed and accomodating which created a lovely atmosphere for our celebration. We even arrived a little earlier than planned and this was no trouble at all. All of our guests (including vegans and other dietary requirements) were catered for perfectly and have all vowed to visit again. Clare & Paul were also kind enough to also let us use an extra (also spacious) side room for the kids and even brought out toys etc for them to play with. This was something which meant we could really enjoy ourselves without having to occupy our very busy 2 year old! We have never experienced such good hospitality and would highly recommend not only eating at Smoke & Ash once a week for the rest of your life, but also booking them for any similar gathering you might be planning. Recently visited for a wedding event. The food was amazing, absolutely couldn’t fault a thing. I particularly want to mention the staff and service. They were so attentive to every person in the room. Comments from everyone were so positive and I can say I’ve never been more impressed with restaurant staff. Clare and Paul at Smoke + Ash are absolutely wonderful and went above and beyond for our group. We all thought the pizzas and cocktails were absolutely fantastic! They were even happy to adjust Sunday opening hours to accommodate us for a while longer since I was celebrating my birthday which was we were so grateful for. Don’t hesitate to book if you’re looking for a lovely atmosphere, excellent service and brilliant food! Already planning when to come back and recommending to all my friends ✅

We visited as a family of four on Saturday evening. We have two children (6 & 3) and I can’t thank the staff enough for making such a fuss of them. They bought over colouring, chatted with the children and brought out pizza in the shape of Mickey Mouse. It gave us time as parents to enjoy our delicious food. The kids meal deal was incredibly reasonable as well. Thank you for making us feel so special. Defo our favourite local pizza restaurant.

An excellent visit to smoke and ash, gorgeous staff and excellent food. The customer service was second to none and were very accommodating. We experienced both the cocktail lounge and the main restaurant. Really reasonable prices for an excellent food and drinks menu. Can’t wait to bring my husband next time!

We attended the pizza making class today and Paul and team were absolutely superb. They were attentive to our needs, excellent communication of how to make a great Pizza whilst having fun along the way. I would definitely visit the restaurant again. Thanks Smoke & Ash for a great afternoon.

So another sat afternoon and 2 more pizzas for the three of us. Really great flavour. It doesn't feel that we ate outside as the sourdough was so light. Recommended to my friends as well who had a large meeting there pre Christmas. Don't change a thing, please.

¡Vaya, qué hallazgo! Mi hija en Leeds me habló de este lugar y durante las vacaciones que tuve la oportunidad de visitar. Normalmente no hago reseñas, pero esto seguramente vale la pena mencionarlo. Viajamos desde Coventry y después de un tranvía de 10 minutos de New street a Edgbaston Village toda la experiencia , desde la bienvenida a la hermosa pizza que se sirvió , fue de primera clase. Nada fue demasiado problema y sin duda volveré con amigos. Es bueno saber que lugares como este todavía están alrededor.

Went here at the weekend for the first time for an early dinner. I’m actually more a pasta than pizza fan but I have to say, I loved the food at this place. Service was excellent - friendly and prompt and Willow our waitress was exceptional at making us feel that nothing was too much trouble. As a vegetarian I often get bored of the same old stuff reeled out at restaurants so it was great to try a new flavour combination pizza (I had the vegan Nduja sausage with honey). The Christmas garlic bread with Gorgonzola that we had to start was divine - I really hope that’s a staple on the normal menu 🙏🏻. The decor and ambience were stylish but relaxed. I’m glad we ate a bit earlier when it was a little quieter as by the time we left it was heaving and naturally noisier (it was a Saturday evening after all). Will definitely be back to try other things on the menu and to sample their very cosy and classy looking cocktail lounge. Highly recommend ❤️

One of, if not the best in Brum. Service is always bang on, menu is always creative and the drinks are up there. Amazing!!! I had a private dining event here for my 30th birthday and it was nothing short of fantastic!! I hosted 36 people in total and we could have fit more. The staff were so kind and friendly and ensured I was happy throughout the evening. The food was beautiful! My friends and family were pleased with the quality and the amount of food. They were also able to cater towards people in my party that were vegan and gluten free. I would reccomend to anyone looking for somewhere to host their private dining event. I know I will be definitely using them again in the future. Beautiful location and beautiful atmoshphere in the restaurant.

Great pizza restaurant serving the best Neapolitan style pizzas. Highly recommend but you need to book at busy times. Ideal for a date night or with a group.

Lovely food, poor service. Booked a rare trip out for an anniversary meal, started well with some complimentary Prosecco. Booked an early table purposefully to try and avoid having to hang around. After waiting over an hour after our starters had to repeatedly get staffs attention to get more drinks and ask on progress of our meal. Gave up in the end and asked for our food to be boxed to take home. Would have enjoyed staying for further drinks and desert but after being ignored just didn’t feel like staying. Shame as the food was good and the service started well, just wasn’t followed through. Multiple other tables that arrived after us being served before us, even the table next to us recognised we had received poor service and didn’t blame us for leaving.

Ordered four full-size pizzas and one child’s pizza for delivery, but the child’s pizza didn’t arrive. They offered a refund on the missing pizza and a free child’s pizza next time, saying it was “the most we can do.” This left my 7-year-old without food, so our group couldn’t eat together. I ended up dashing to McDonald’s for her, returning to cold pizza and a staggered family meal—not what we expected for over £60. They promised a call from the owner, but it never came. Food is fine for what it is but disappointing they didn’t do more to fix their mistake.

Fantastic meal as always. Great service from the team, particularly Pedro who dealt very professionally with a difficult group of diners whilst we were there. Didn’t let it phase him and continued to manage the restaurant very well. Keep up the good work; we’ll be back.

However....... one particular member of staff 'Pedro' allegedly the manager was appalling. Booking had been confirmed as 7pm earlier in the day arrived to be told they'd got 7.30 . After some further discussion Pedro's answer to the problem was 'you can always go somewhere else' Not the response l'd usually have hoped for!! My 'wow did you actually just say that' didn't faze him. Me thinks perhaps a tactic /response he's used before. Such a shame that staff can let a new place down so spectacularly!! Oh well next time l'll go to Otto in the JQ who's social media say amazing food AND staff

Really nice restaurant with great food. The staff were super friendly and services was quick and efficient. We had booked via firsttable and all was spot on. Portions are decent so arrive hungry! Take away boxes were available 😉

We had our first visit last night, and loved it. The range of starters were just right and tasted great - you've got to try the Burrata! The Pizza's are great - crispy, fluffy and soft inside. The salads are plentiful and creative, and desserts had a great selection of gelati - who doesn't love pistachio?! From where we were sat, we could see all the front and back of house staff in action, and it was a lovely scene of teamwork, efficiency and respect, along with a friendly atmosphere. We love the area it is situated, and all added together, this was a lovely night out. Thanks Sophie and team

Ordered a delivery which came super fast Pizza wasn’t great lacking in toppings and flavours, under cooked and smashed up in box. Also there wasn't any chilli flakes on it. Had to add chilli oil. Ordered pork and fennel sausage pizza. Shame i was looking for to it

Had a wonderful meal here last week with friends and my little boy. We were made to feel so welcome! My son said it was the best pizza he has ever had and he is a tough critic! The toppings are so unique and makes a change to the usual classics. Also loved the offerings of salads, starters, and delicious dips! Staff were so attentive and nothing was too much. The new extension looks amazing and shows how popular they are getting, and with good reason!

Waited for table which was absolutely fine, but when we were sat at table we were ignored. Two tables came in after us and were served, we were still not even offered some water. We got up to the bar to order drinks and still no one came to take our order or apologise. Disappointed as the food looked lovely just left before we got a chance to try it as we were not ok with the service.

This is truly one of the best pizza restaurants I’ve ever been to. Not only was the everything incredibly delicious (seriously, best pizza ever), but the restaurant itself is so beautifully designed and everyone is so nice. We even met the owner, Paul, who was absolutely wonderful. We will be coming back!

Amazing feel as soon as we entered Smoke and Ash. Relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. We had the fennel sausage pizza and the Nduja sausage and honey pizza 💯 taste and cooked perfectly. Tiramisu was beautiful as was the Pear and chocolate cake. The Chilli an Yuzu non alcoholic cocktail is tangy and perfect with the Nduja sausage and honey pizza. Our server was lovely and very attentive. We will definitely be back. Thank you for making our Anniversary meal a yummy and enjoyable one 🤗

We hired Smoke & Ash as caterers for our wedding in Digbeth and they absolutely smashed it. The pizza was absolutely delicious and Paul & Clare were great with our guests from start to finish, even teaching our nephew Luca how to make one. They were so helpful in the run up as well, always super chill and professional - exactly what we needed during the madness of wedding planning. We're so glad they've decided to expand into larger scale catering, just as we needed them, and could not recommend them highly enough.

Overpriced Georgian wine (£5 or less in Georgia which they sell here at £36), and very good pizzas and salad.

Brilliant. Really lovely pizza, excellent service, prime location! Staff were really attentive, knowledgable about the food and respectful with allergies. I can't tell you how many restaurants have misunderstood or questioned the validity of my allergy. Not here! Brilliant service. What a lovely place in the heart of Edgbaston village with fantastic food, great atmosphere and lovely friendly staff. The choice of pizzas is varied, with something for all tastes. We treated ourselves to desserts too and were really impressed with the reasonable price of the meal overall. Loved it

We had a spectacular lunch at Smoke and Ash. Starting with the bresaola carpaccio and vegan platter of artichoke, pepper, aubergine, sun-dried tomatoes and olives, we then shared an 'Edgbaston Marinara' pizza topped with burrata, as an extra. Although a starter, the heavily laden and generously dressed carpaccio would've made a satisfying main. The vegetables were exquisite, neither too briny nor oily. The tomato and basil sauce on the marinara tasted extremely fresh, and the thin base was charred to perfection. Creamy burrata topped off one of the best pizzas I've had in the UK. Prices were reasonable for the quality. We used our Independent Birmingham cards for 10% off. Greenfield Crescent, where the restaurant is located, is becoming an oasis of independents in Edgbaston village. Both the tram stop and train station (Five Ways) are within walking distance.

Lovely, friendly place with great food and lovely staff. We were a group of 12 and they did an awesome job of getting the delicious food to us all together at the same time, no mean feat with freshly cooked pizza.

We are spoilt for good pizza places in Birmingham, but from the many we have tried Ash and Smoke is our favourite. The quality of the pizza is simply unmatched. The base is both thin but soft with a distinct wood oven aroma, and the flavour combinations and ingredients used excellent.

The above have a van at Botanical gardens. I visited yesterday. I ordered a vegetarian pizza. The pizza was great, but the attitude of the lady taking payment, was not. Just to be clear, this was not the lady inside the van, making the pizzas, this was the lady taking the payments, outside the van. Initially I noticed her attitude with another customer, who wasnt sure how the pager worked. I noticed the lady was quite rude when she explained that the flashing red light simply meant that the pager was working. I noticed when I approached her, she did not smile, she was unfriendly and did not look at me again. Her responses were terse and came across as rude and arrogant. Part of me thinks she thought she was being efficient and in control; in an office perhaps, in the service industry, not so much. When I collected my pizza, again, she did not look at me; she was perfunctory and appeared irritated by my presence. When I asked her for napkins, she pointed to a few tiny napkins, stuffed under the corner of the pizza. The pizza was not even in a box and I had to balance it on my lap. Her rudeness did annoy me and I could see it annoyed the other customer too. In a nutshell, pizza was nice, customer service was very poor. If you want to feel as though only your money matters, this is the place for you.

Late lunch with colleagues. The food was very good, but service was a little slow,l taking orders and bringing drinks.

Has to be one of my favourite pizza places in Birmingham (that is considering the fact that I have only been this one). Aside from that decor had a twist!

Food was good however staff were aggressive and rude and it felt like they didn’t want you there. Would not recommend.

We visited on a wet and cold Sunday afternoon in July. The restaurant was busy enough and there was a good, relaxed vibe in place. The staff provided a particularly warm welcome and were attentive and helpful throughout. The drinks and food was of a good standard and we all enjoyed the pizzas and salads with the pizza on the specials board being especially tasty.

Nice location. My husband and I liked their Stat Wars theme. We were happy that they could accommodate us without a reservation. It's a small restaurant so it can get busy. Pizza 🍕 was good but the dough could be a little crustier. One thing I didn't like was the toilets. The main door to the toilet was always open. From my table, I could see people going in and out of toilets, which, for me, wasn't pleasant at all. I appreciate the place being small, but there are ways of making it pleasant.

This was the best pizza I have eaten in the UK. And I run a pizza business. Staff we able to find us a table at the bar and drinks were amazing (grapefruit cocktail) and was rammed on a Weds night which says it all. Open kitchen which I love as you can see what the chef is doing. Pizza was perfect. Big crust, chewy, with the right amount of char. Sauce was the real star - just bursting with flavour. Anna had the goats cheese salad which was bursting with flavour and these exploding mini tomatoes. Tiramisu looked amazing but we were in a rush so didn’t have time to try it, but we will be back soon!

I'm not sure why this place has so many good reviews... My pizza was burnt completely underneath but the top was undercooked. I'm going to say maybe the oven wasn't working that well that day ?? Then again pizza is like the easiest thing to make? Not sure what's going but I had a bite and the flavours are nice, just need to work on baking at the right temperature for the correct amount of time.
