We always enjoy lunch at Smith & Western in Horsham and have taken many friends there over a period of time. The lunch time menu is varied and always delicious. Our server was friendly, professional and attentive and made our visit very enjoyable.

As you’d expect this is a themed restaurant base on the ‘wild west’. Service was good and the kids loved the unlimited soda refills. After ordering our food arrived in fairly good time. Kids meals were as you’d expect, standard burgers and fries in our case. I ordered a mixed rib/wing combo with the spicy sauce. It was pleasantly spicy, the wings could have been crisper, ribs were nice. I wasn’t expecting high-end here, however I still felt the food was a bit overpriced for the quality we got. They also blast the music which makes it hard to hold a conversation, more so if it’s busy. If you’re looking for a fun spot which is themed nicely as a ‘western’, you’re in the right place. Just top up your wallet before you go.

We are all simply blown away by the service Michelle from Smith and Western, Horsham and feeling rather lost for words. Our noisy table left late, after our yummy food, in the evening and we accidentally left a pair of RayBan sunglasses on our table which we realised half way home. We phoned, not really expecting anyone to answer that late, and Michelle answered. She quickly found the sunglasses and we asked if it would be ok for us to come back and collect them as they had now closed, or if they could either be stored somewhere until the morning. She asked where we were and amazingly she said that she would drop them to us at home! She was insistent that this was no trouble and so we agreed, part of us wondering if it would really happen. About an hour later at about 00:40 we met Michelle outside our home. She couldn't have been nicer and we asked what we could do to say thank you. She simply said that someone had once done a big favour for her and it was her way of giving back. We are so grateful Michelle. We will also pay it forward.

Excellent experience. Can’t recommend enough. Blown away by the decor - so much thought and detail has been put into it. So much to look at. The food was excellent, as was the service. Will definitely return. Thank you for a lovely evening.

We went for dinner for our sons birthday who is also Vegan. Group of 6 . Very pleased with the service and the food was great , staff were very good . Will definitely come back

Visited for Sunday lunch as a special treat for our daughter, had asked on the reservation if we could sit in one of the caravan tables for a little extra excitement. On arrival we waited for 5 or so minutes at the entrance, and we were treated with a "what do you need" sort of attitude, almost as if they weren't looking for customers or annoyed that they had an extra table when the place clearly wasn't that busy. I asked if the special request had been taken into consideration, and they said all those tables were unavailable and seated us upstairs. Ok, but when we went to visit the restrooms we could see they were available, and were to the remainder of our visit. Great. The drinks order took 20mins to be asked, I ordered a refill soda, I had to chase twice for the drink glass to be supplied and eventually got it myself from the bar, the soda machine upstairs wasn't carbonating, I went downstairs to use the bar and got a drink myself from the bar staff. The food, I ordered a rack of ribs, which was £25 and tiny, not a full rack at all in my book but ok, inflation/deflation whatever. Look we weren't expecting The Ivy, but for a £75 meal for effectively a kids treat, you don't expect to be treated like a turkey which is how we effectively felt. No I probably wouldn't suggest going there again unless, my daughter specifically asked for it.

We came here as my daughter wanted to celebrate her birthday and we sat in a corner booth which was nice and luckily this time the loudspeaker above it was turned off! Great service by Tim, with 241 cocktails between 5-7pm. Nacho platter was good, this time they hadn’t run out of sour cream! My burrito was filling and no room for dessert although we shared the belly buster! Absolutely shocking waiting times for the drinks, food and desserts!! The quality of food was terrible. Over cooked and seriously seriously over priced for what you got. Order drinks you'd be lucky if you get them in 10 mins if at all. Seems as if the kitchen management haven't a clue on how to run a kitchen! Nor how to cook. Waitress was the only good thing very polite and did her job. We all certainly won't ever be returning. And to anyone thinking of going don't bother wasting your time or money on such bad quality!

Arrived early and got seated, lovely hosts and waitress, however it all went down hill from there. Parked in Sainsbury's carpark thinking 2 hours is plenty of a spot of lunch, well ... 2 hours later (still hadn't received our meal) I had to run out to move the car, in which the food arrived whilst doing so and my husband and son had finished their dinner by this point. 2 hours on .. still there... 4.5 hours it took to have a main meal and pudding. Never in my life have I experienced that slower service. All our food was stone cold, and very disappointed with the quality of food. My husband and I go all the time for the ribs (normally Chichester) and never had a problem, always been really meaty and the meat just falls off. This time they were tiny with barely any meat on them, very disappointing! I write this review as it's not the first time I have had incredibly slow service in this Horsham branch. The amount of time it takes for the food to come out, whether the restaurant is busy or dead, it's still the same! Given them 3 visits and after the most recent stressful experience, particularly with a 2 year old .. 4.5 hours is not good enough. A quick lunch turned into a day trip!

Booked breakfast as my son’s choice for his birthday treat. He turned 5 and was so excited. I wrote that it was his birthday on the booking. Negatives: Waiter poured our coffee and disappeared. Came back 10 mins later and we had to ask for milk. Milk portions was poor. Coffee cold. Excess cutlery and coffee cups were not removed from the table despite piling them up myself to stop my toddler reaching for them. Slow service. Staff only present when serving so could not ask for needs/wants. Breakfast no longer served with extra maple sauce unless this was missed. Pancakes not served with peacans as per menu.Partners breakfast served with toast instead of hash browns with no explanations. Worst of all, no one said happy birthday to my son.

Excellent dinner in a fun setting. Food was very good especially Mississipi burger and great service from our waitress Georgia.

I like Smith and Western ... BUT ... waited 5 minutes at the door with no sign of being seated. Walked out and went across the street to Cote. No wait and staff very attentive and polite. Come on S&W remember we have a choice and there's competition.

Food tasty. Service average. We was questioned over our friend who has a brain injury causing slurring of speech. The bar person thought she drunk and questioned serving her alcohol.. Think staff need more knowledge in respect of a disability instead of accusations. Rather disappointed. It was a birthday meal. Ruined.

My husband and I went for breakfast to S&W Horsham and it is really disappointing to be writing this. As a family we generally love S&W but perhaps you should steer away from breakfasts. We had booked but still waited for approximately 10 minutes to be seated (no queue and no staff present). We placed our order and was offered coffee, 15 minutes later the coffee was poured by the waitress and she then walked off, no milk was offered or given, so we had to sit and wait for the waitress to re-appear in order to ask for milk, by the time it came our coffee was iced cold. We doubled up on our breakfast and if my scrambled eggs was doubled up, I would hate to see the size of the single portion, the scrambled eggs were like rubber, the toast was cold and rest of breakfast was tasteless. We will not be returning for breakfast.

I booked a table for 6 for breakfast for 11.45 on Saturday at Horsham restaurant, it was a Mother’s Day celebration and we wanted to have a brunch. Everything was booked online and it wasn’t until we arrived that we were told that they were no longer doing breakfast and we would have to have lunch and put our order in and wait for our food when they start doing lunch which turned out longer than we expected. This was really disappointing and nothing was offered as a good will gesture for the inconvenience. I was really disappointed and I will think twice now about choosing S & W.

Teenagers friends recommended this place and it didn’t disappoint. Big portions, a fun setting and really nice staff.

We visited Horsham branch for the first time with family. We have been to Chichester before and loved it. but was very disappointed with our visit to Horsham. The service was very slow. We got there and 5.30 and didn’t get our food till at least 6.30. The food was not that great at all. Very bland, My mother ordered the mini doughnuts and there was at least half a bag of sugar on them so she couldn’t eat them. But they did not give us any money back for this. The food was over priced for what we got. So we won’t be going back.

Food was good, no complaints, as was the service. However, it is now ridiculously expensive and so, as a family, unfortunately, we won’t be back

Our first time at Smith & Western and we was not disappointed! From entering we was made to feel so welcome. The atmosphere was great, we loved the music. I would recommend the nachos sharer, there was 4 of us and still lots left over! Also a special mention to Joe our server! He was great, from serving us our drinks and meal to taken our bill he could not do enough!

We took a group of 5 young people, 4 of which are wheelchair users, to the escape rooms in Swan Walk. Afterwards we had arranged to go to Nandos for dinner, I had prearranged this all with Nandos who had assured me they would hold a specific table for me that would be perfect for our needs. When we arrived Nandos had completely let us down there was no table held for us and it was a 25 minute wait minimum. I dashed down the street to Smith and Western and they could not have been more accommodating. Despite having closed the upstairs for the evenings, they gave us exclusive use of the upstairs so the young people had plenty of room for their wheelcahirs, there was a lift to get up there so it was completely accessible for all. All the young people expressed that they loved their meals, our waitress couldn't have been more attentive and when she noticed I was 90p short of the bill, rather than let me put the last 90p on the my she chipped it in herself! Many young people with additional needs miss out on simple things like meals out with their mates because of constant barriers and Smith and Western made sure they got the same experience as everyone else, even at very short notice!
