Been wanting to try this place for ages. Finally had a chance. 4oz smash burger meal. Burger was properly cooked, liked that it was a little chewy, bun was one of the nicest I’ve had. Fries portion was very generous, you put your own condiments on which is ideal. Definitely recommend this place for smash burgers.

Edit: What makes a restaurant 5* is the level of customer service, because food and cleanliness can only ever hit a certain point. The food and cleanliness here are amazing, but the customer service? Out of this world. This is definitely a place worth checking out, brilliant humble, engaging and friendly staff. One of the most delicious meals I have ever had.

Ramadan Mubarak ❤️ Had an amazing late stop by this evening 04/04/2023, had the pleasure of meeting the guys that run here wholeheartedly, who were working and serving and 1 I believe that was connected to the Smash & Bun. I had stopped by here once before with the promise I'd come back after passing by on a walk around that I liked to do. That I finally got to do! Here at Smash & Bun, the food always smells incredible up the street and the staff have always greeted me with such a smile. I wasn't sure what to get as I was looking for a quick small bite on my way home, with such a great selection of tasty food, ranging from chicken strips, packed burgers of different ounces, loaded fries, with a few more great bits to offer. (including the rangeee of sauces). Service was too kind and something to remember and worth every commemoration I could give. I was served a juicy, hot, tasty, super flavourful, double smash burger! with fries and a Rio Tropical drink of choice, which I sauced up with Chilli and Hot chilli onto the (I believe, Algerian sauce). With a timely, but quick travel home, the food held it's structure and carried the flavour and textures in dear anticipation, the food was gone within very few minutes of my arrival back home. Cooked right on the grill Infront of you, with such a friendly and memorable service, it really made for a terrific experience and worth while. Customers were quickly gathering even after 12:30am, which really showed in the personal reviews that were excitedly expressed within engaging conversation, whilst I waited for food which came pretty promptly. You are definitely missing out to not give them a check out. Located at the side of a Snooker Hall, which is the perfect link up for late or earlier* stop by with family, friends and even on your local stroll around. Thank you all, for your time, service and hospitality you provide. Not a bite or piece left, that wasn't straight to the heart! ♥️ A highly anticipated update: 31/07/2023. A long awaited visit since I last did so, this place is truly unmatched. The gentleman are always the best and are fantastic to speak with, leaving a smile on my face every time! (but the food would make you smile alone!) I believe the burger I had was a Double Smash Burger with Fries and drinks (thank you :)) - this could've been the 6oz. It had been a great night in service for Smash & Bun, so great that they had ran out of Veg toppings. Although, the burger was still as incredible as I recall and was mouth-watering. I almost skipped home in excitement just to have their delicious food in my hands again, I couldn't have raced to eat faster! I don't think you guys get how fantastic this place is! It's a personal favourite around (as well as many others that arrive, consistently) I've never had a smash burger so perfect the way they do it, must be made with love! Although I'd believe that in the way the service is astounding everytime. It really means alot to me and many others to see the way they serve late hours, with full punctuation and kindness, something unmatched you just don't get anywhere else, make me so proud every time! Went for the strips and fries this time, freshly made and amazing flavour. Met the owner who was a very polite gentlemen. Speed of service was rapid! Had the 6oz smash burger on my last visit and was not dissappointed. A good spot to try 👌🏼

tried the food for the 1st time after my friend recommended it, had the 6oz angus smash burger, have to say it was the best smash burger I have ever had, (yes I have had fat joes like 10×, gone downhill). fries and sauces were on point. highly reccomend. best smash burgers in Brum.

I heard a lot of reviews from this place, mostly good but one or two bad but I thought I'd give it a shot myself. The food usually takes a while to make, this is not issue as I prefer them to take their time and make the food properly rather than getting something rushed and poor. The workers are kind and communicate a lot, especially on how long the food will take, which is very refreshing.and something i appreciate. As for the food it self, I would say it's absolutely delicious. Burger was well seasoned and well made and the quality of the ingredients was great, especially the meat. If you have a smash burger craving then this is the place for you. I also recommend getting some of their cajun chicken on the side, it's super tasty and tender and compliments the meal really well. The presentation may be messy for some but for me it's good, this is a street van, selling smash burgers and tasty grilled chicken, the "messy" presentation is what adds to the charm and experience of the food and I enjoy it. I didn't take any pictures of the food because i ate it so quickly but I will the next time I go, and that will be very soon. Kudos to the owner and staff for providing an exceptional service with exceptional food. EDIT : I’ve come here again on more than two occasions and they’ve been closed, even though it says they’re open. I wouldn’t rely too much on their opening and closing times and days.

Came down earlier today for a quick bite and I gotta say I really enjoyed it. Went for the smash burger. Really delicious and full of juices. Customer service was excellent aswell. Defo be coming back again.

My mate has taken me to grab a munch from smash & bun two times and every time the food was on point and so was the customer service, the second time I was chatting with the owner wasim and his customer service skills are 10/10, top guy top food he even sorted me some water with my food. The food is fire!! (I highly recommend their angus burgers, so much flavour and the meat is so soft and tender) defo recommend, 10/10 keep it up lads! khan

Nice, tasty chicken burger, cool service

Well where do I start!! Yes they are that good! The Angus beef burgers are phenomenal, mouth watering, belly rumbling and finger licking gooood! From the toasted buns to the lettuce it's all high grade quality none of them cheap buns that get all soggy and fall apart proper buns that hold the meat in place while you are chopping into it!! No one in town can match the quality of burgers here! They have recently started loaded fries with beef or chicken but I like it mixed with brother OBEYS special flavours and tricks! Don't listen to the little boys complaining about it being no good, if you want your burger customised then you should speak up and tell the guys you'd like it cooked a certain way.. Common sense lol if your a meat eater you will understand what these guys are about! fresh beef juices dripping down the patties! Customer service 10/10 If your feeling down and want a burger with a good laugh these guys are the funniest, polite and full of energy guys you will meet! They are all so happy to be at work always smiling and using manners 👍 OBEY will make you laugh on a bad LOL Summary FOOD 10/10 DRINKS 9.8/10 get the mojitos in lads CUSTOMER SERVICE 10/10 HYGEINE 10/10 I will be back again and again and again.....

Burger has 0 taste. The patty is too thick not really smashed. Fries are regular, cheap quality. Half the chips were not edible. I will not be back tomorrow sir.! Thanks Just to add the burgers were pink inside. Which maybe okay for some. However like I mentioned above! Patties are too thick!!

A lot of smash burger food trucks have been popping up around town since Phat Jo's first came on the scene, gave Smash & Bun a go yesterday evening but I'm really sad to say that I was not impressed. You'll pay about the same as other places (£8~ish for a 4oz meal with strips), what I got was a pretty chewy and dry burger (the whole point of a smash burger is its cooked quickly on a very hot surface and smashed really thin so that it's caramelised and juicy - this wasn't). For the price I would expect skin on fries but these were your generic takeaway ones. The chicken strips were delicious though and on point, made fresh and juicy with the right amount of seasoning, but I'm coming to a place called Smash & Bun for the smash burger, not the strips. Choice of drinks are limited to Coke and Rubicon Mango / Guava. The boys behind the counter are really friendly and a good laugh. The sauce bottles were unbelievably greasy, would appreciate a regular wipe down of everything - they clearly keep the rest of the place relatively clean so I didn't even notice until I'd touched one of the bottles. A lot of things to work on here to bring it up to expectation. If we're moving away from regular chippy style trash to gourmet junk, and charging prices that reflect that, then the quality of product needs to match too.

This place the smash burger with fried onions and sauces, the meat just melts in your mouth. 👌😛 next is Angus burger to try

Good friendly 10 out of 10 burgers quick food service. Definitely recommend the food can’t go wrong with hygiene and the standard of quality last but not least the price cheap & cheerful. Till next time
