The fish and chips the mrs had was delicious i had the mixed kebab very tasty always good food here never had a bad thats why we keep going back 😋 😊

My Son treated me to a meal this lunchtime. The food was excellent and the tastiest I have had for many years. The service was also excellent as my Son served it to me. The Atmosphere was loving and kind, but to top all that I really think the food was plenty enough to feed me another meal tonight, as there was so much of it. I am 75 years old and am now about to go into a food coma. If I don't wake up, there will be the other half of this wonderful meal in the fridge. x

I love this chip shop. I personally think this is the best in Exeter. And eaten from most.

Just moved to Exwick and this shop is literally right on my door step. I've been twice and the food is absolutely gorgeous. The two girls at the front are very welcoming and kind... Will be my new local. Thank you.

Massive portions, really fair price, batter was the best

Just came here for lunch, ordered 2 chip buttys 2 battered sausages and some curry sauce. Firstly the portions are insane. Enough food to feed a family. Secondly the best battered sausage I've ever had. And finally the chips were lovely. Guy behind the counter was really friendly and service was top notch. Would 100% recommend this place.

I bought fish bites and chips tonight and they were absolutely disgusting. There’s hardly any fish and the chips were cold and I also decided to try the mushy peas fry that was horrible too.

We decided to have some fish and chips for dinner this evening only to be very very disappointed First the fish had no taste and poor portion size , the chips were anaemic dry,,tasteless not even crispy. We’ve had better sized pieces of haddock and crispy chips with peas for slightly more money than you charge at the local beefeater

Voted for by my Scouts, as one of the top chip shops this side of the river. Very tasty and great service. Thankyou very much.

Had fish and chip, beefburger and chips and battererd sausage. Waited 15 mins! Was the worst meal i have had from a takeaway. Fish not cooked, burger overcooked and no taste. Would not recommend this place and will not be returning. Expensive as well

This place does the cleanest tasting doner kebab I have had it's fresh and isn't greasy at all just full of flavour would highly recommend

Ordered here for the first time today and I can honestly say I had the best cod and chips I've had in a long time and at a good price. Fish was a good size for a regular (even sticking out of the container) and I will be back again in the future. Service at the counter couldn't be faulted 5* all around

Great for gluten free food, the only one I know in Exeter, its so hard for people who suffer from Barley, wheat, gluten allergies to obtain basic things we take for granted, about time other companies done more, I wish smart fish bar all the best, and keep up the good work.

Can’t stop thinking about these fish and chips! We got the gluten free cod, chips, and gluten free battered sausage. Plus curry sauce and mushy peas, all of it was delicious! The best gluten free fish and chips we’ve had, and that is a hard thing to do! 10/10 would recommend!

Nice enough, staff are pleasant and one of them is friendly. The food is standard pretty good. Price is almost reasonable

Under cooked chips, jumbo sausage was fine but as all chippies would if been bought in, curry sauce portion was very small and bland ! Definitely will avoid in future

This place is perfection, the customer service, the attention to detail, the family run feel and the food is consistently exceptional. There is nowhere else i would rather spend my money. I feel like we’re friends although i’ve never met them, such is the warmth and friendliness of these people. An unusual find, definitely one to try, i’d love to know where they find cod so big they have to snap it to fit it in the box. Absolutely delicious well done Team Smart

Scrumptious Chips cooked just like Nana made in the old country with enough for me and Mum from one portion The fish was delicious and huge Love this fish and chip shop it’s our regular Friday night Tea.

My son just brought home some Cod and Chips Absolutely delicious those Portuguese sure know how to cook fish The chips were good as well The cod was huge Gone to be a regular with the size of the portion.

Never had a bad meal from this place and the fact they GF all the time means my wife can enjoy fish and chips whenever the mood takes her. Everything is cooked well, the fish is of a decent size and the service always good. Best in Exeter.

Just had are normal order of fish chips and kebabs and what a difference, where you normally have a big feed and now everything is very small portions, will not get are business any more

A great fish and chip shop, which on both times I’ve been has been super busy. The kitchen which is viewable from the counter looks immaculate, the food, on both occasions has been excellent. My girlfriend is a coeliac, she was very excited for this and it didn’t let her down. I tried the gluten free batter and I have to say you can barely tell the difference. We will be back
