Smacks Hamburgers in Croydon

Food is great, just a shame it takes so long to get the food or just like then ignored as the server sat on the phone, customers just walked out as wasn’t worth the wait. I miss the old staff and left empty handed again.

First time I’ve ever had a smacks and it was absolutely delicious and had a great deal on I ordered it in however but still extremely yummy I did the two cheeseburgers and chips deal for £9.99 and got an Oreo and a biscoff milkshake and did the buy one get one free on their 5nuggets as had it with my mum Everything was completely enjoyable chips are decently sized and great amount of salt my mum even said they’d be chips she could put in a chip butty The Oreo milkshake is incredible Thank you!

I ordered their 2 for 1 burgers, plus chicken nuggets and some chips (for 2 of us). Thinking it was on offer / a good deal, it was not. Nothing special about the burgers despite the restaurants trendy image. The burgers were baby size portions, bland and boring. The chicken nuggets tasted like something you'd get in the frozen section of Iceland. Really disappointed and will never order from here again.

I was just in time for the saver meal which is available from 1pm -5pm. I thought it would be a good way to try a smacks burger, 3 nuggets and fries for £4.99. I enjoyed the salted fries (I got a bonus fry - see pic). The nuggets were bland and needed sauce. A special or branded sauce would've tasted better than the sachets available. The star was definitely the cheeseburger. The edges of the party were well done and the onions sang through. Would visit again.

Thr Don burger meal was decent on my uber eats order however they don't even provide 1 complementary sauce to go with the chips which I find very stingy

Food always tastes really good , the peri chips are just to die for and the cheeseburgers are😍 .. so tasty so if you’re unsure on going , this is your sign to!

Brilliant food here. I've tried their beef burgers, chicken wraps, chicken wings, flurry and had their criss cross fries and cheese bites. The food has always arrived hot and the delivery times are quick. They also have some good deals at £9.99.

Most of my order was missing, I called the restaurant and the man at the end of the phone was really rude saying it’s not his problem and he’s not going to do anything about it! I was arguing with him on the phone for literally 20 minutes and he was no help!!

Just ordered on here from Uber. I’ve had this smacks maybe 5/6 times. I always get the spicy chicken burger. However this time the batter on the chicken tasted like it was a week old. Impossible to eat and extremely stale, so disappointed. Breaded wings also tasted nasty, no flavour just oily. Won’t go here again now, it’s a shame because I thought they do the best chicken burgers. Update: What’s the point in replying 2 months later when there’d be no trace of the transaction? Will not come back after that terrible performance.

I order from here once in a while when I really want some junk food and salt and oil intake, everything is greasy and heavily flavored. meat not fresh, the only quality food I would recommend is chicken nuggets and plain fries, however the portion is a bit pricey.

Ordered a wrap here, it was okay but nothing special. Piri fries are way too salty. Leaving me feeling sick and with a horrible taste in my mouth afterwards. Veggie burger had way too much mayo that tasted very cheap. Overall a terrible experience.

Ordered from here after a long time and seems like the quality has gone down a hill. Ordered wings and these are what they gave. All wings were raw inside. Never visiting this place again. Please avoid if you value your health.

Really quick service here, burger was good.

I had previously ordered from smacks using delivery and was given stale old tasting chicken. Not fresh at all. Put me off for a long time. Decided to give it another go tonight and found the food to be very very poor once again. Very disappointed, will not be coming back again. If management want to follow up on this I was served on Monday evening around 915.

We only had a few small items to take away. My colleague has a chicken wrap which she really enjoyed. I had a cheese burger which was mediocre. I had also ordered buffalo wings but I'm sure I was given normal wings. Nevertheless, they were very tasty. I'd like to give it 3.5, but it's more 4 than 3, so I've given it 4. I might go again, but I think it's expensive for what's offered.

The food was amazing. Have ordered home recently too and the quality was just as good. As for the service, there is room for improvement. And the place itself is a bit small, also kind of works against it. Would surely recommend though, especially their spicy sauce.

OMG! The burger is way better than other burger chains. Fresh and delicious. Chips (without spices) are wonderful. I can tell all the dishes are wonderful. Very clean atmosphere with nice music. The staff is shy but very friendly. 17/9 @12:46pm. She is professional and makes me feel welcome. Thank you! Come on down! You won't be disappointed!

This takeaway is always welcoming regardless of who is serving. The lady that served me today is so bubbly. She is just what you need on an unbearably hot day like today!! They were short-staffed, but she handled the rush ahead of me extremely well. Really friendly, personable, and clean!!! One of the cleanest takeaways I've visited in London, let alone Croydon. And the food... spot on. Filled the spot! 🥰 If I could give them an extra star, I would. ⭐

Really good burgers and chips/cross chips, but the service is very slow food took 30min to get, staff friendly.

Great service from the lady at the desk, she greeted us cheerfully as we came in, was polite and helpful, but not at all pushy. The whole place was very clean and the food was tasty. We had burgers, tenders and milkshakes, all delicious. I don’t eat pork and the place is halal so I could have a burger with turkey bacon in — yah! We took our food home but you can sit in, but more there’s no toilets or anything like that.

That chicken is the worst piece of plastic you can get. I'm shocked at the 4.6 rating on Google. Chips have a smell of old oil. Do not recommend, sorry smacks!

Really yummy food but the wait was far too long, priotising delviery orders while I was the only eat in customer, why did I have to wait 40 mins for a simple burger and fries, and they make all the delivery orders first should you not help the customers in person ???

I just love the burgers, wraps, buffalo wings. Even i have tried everything in their menu but most of them i used to eat smicken wrap. I just love the taste, the way of preparing food and serving. I bought a cheeseburger and criss cross fries. The patty of the burger tasted so awful. I am not picky with food but I honestly could not take another bite. The burger tasted like the patty was old and have gone off, just bad tasting meat.

I've been here a few times and it's just getting worse every time. Smack down burgers where over cooked and dry and chicken burger was undercooked along with burnt chips. Not worth the money at all, first time the food was good but it's gone downhill. Food went straight in the bin and had to order more food from elsewhere. Never ever going back again rather go Morley's.

Bought lunch in store today. Smack down meal. The fries tasted and smelt burnt like they were refried a number of times. My burger contained too much sauce and was wet and sloppy. Found a hair in my fries and the guy who made my burger changed the bin in the same gloves he prepped my meal in and kept them on and began preparing the next meal. May try another sometime in the future but definitely never this branch. Online order was the same.

I was eagerly looking forward to eating here after hearing lots of good things from friends. Generally the place was nice and clean, and the staff were quite nice. I opted for the double bacon burger (all the food is completely Halal) which was okay, definitely nothing special but I did end up getting food poisoning after eating here. Lots of vomiting and diarrhea for the next 3 days after eating this burger the night before (I hadn't eaten anything else that day so it's unlikely that it was something else, fairly confident it was this burger) which was extremely disappointing and it was definitely not worth it in the end. Will probably avoid going back for the foreseeable as a result.

My smacks hamburgers experience was exeptional from the burgers to the customer service. Adam and Suel were wonderful hosts and i'll definitely be back!

Waiting 20+minutes for a chicken burger that was tasteless. The seating plan is OK but the automatic door will open every time someone walks past the door and the seating is directly in line with the door so you'll need to be quick eating or you'll have a cold meal . They should change where they have the seating and remove the automatic door

Really impressed with Smacks. The burgers were big, filling and held together really well. The wings impressed me both the buffalo and breaded wings were large and tasty. Prices were fairly average and worth what we get. Would definitely come here again!

Very nice small burger place! The burgers tasted fresh like home made burgers, the meat is light! The size of the burger is small but delicious. Will definitely be going back there! Bonus it is all halal.

Alright hear me now, as the last review of 2022 I wanted to end the year by giving my two cents on the competition set out by smackshamburgers. However when I went to their branch in south Croydon it didn’t seem like they were doing it anymore so I just decided to get their smack down burger and smicken burger.. Smack down burger - although the bun was completely drenched in sauce and that the bottom bun was completely flat, they really grasped the concept of a smashed patty with that Beautiful caramelised patty, the simplicity normally disappoints but this time it didn’t. The sauce was worked well in synergy with the patty and even though there was a bit too much sauce for my liking it was a very sumptuous burger. If the bun was a bit thicker and somewhat firmer and there was less sauce you have got your self a fantastic burger. 6.9/10 Smicken burger - a newly added spicy chicken burger generously covered with what I assume is meant to be hot sauce following the style of spicy chicken burgers in Manchester where instead of spices and seasoning added to the coating it is instead covered with a spicy sauce. The sauce unfortunately wasn’t spicy in the slightest there was a lack of a kick which was a bit disappointing but it did have flavour, the coating was crispy, the chicken was well cooked and with the sauce, lettuce and red onions and the seeded bun it all came together quite nicely. 6.7/10 Fries The fries were crispy golden and fluffy on the inside they didn’t really set apart from the meal but came together quite well with it making it a brilliant addition, they were pretty decent in terms of the general standards of fries but if you do like fries you could probably get it alone and leave satisfied that you haven’t wasted your money. They were pretty consistent throughout and they were fresh which is what is expected. 6.5/10 Overall rating 6.4/10

What a gem of a find! I had just been to Just Flutes and needed some lunch before driving home and this place caught my eye. Lovely chat with the owner, our burgers were hand-made to order, I had the chicken spicy burger and it was perfect - not too spicy, but spicy enough, hubby had the Smack Burger and loved it, he said next time he’d have the double.

Order a turkey bacon double with criss cross fries and wings on the side to try! Burger was delicious - a wetter burger though. Fries were 10/10! And the crispy wings and lemon pepper wings were nice too. Burger was slightly messy to eat but unmatched in flavour.

When I ordered this food and ate it I was breath taken. The service was incredible and once I finished my food I knew I would come here again. The Milkshake was quite nice and the burger was even better. I would definetly reccomend this place to anyone I meet. I met Adam who was a great person.

The smicken (Manchester style chicken burger) is a game changer. Been dying for it to come to london and this does not disappoint!

They have nice food here. The only down side is the tables don't appear to be cleaned after a customer uses them. Yes they clear the tray, but the tables, chairs and floor have crumbs left over them. The staff only seem chatty and happy when their friends come in otherwise they're just there for a paycheck. I would eat here again in the future but I'd rather take away.

Nom. Nom. Nom. A halal MacDonald. The cheeseburger was too small for me but a good place to start (again think mcDs). I would go for the smack down next time. Very busy deliveroo orders coming in so you may have to wait a sec - but very worth it. Highly recommend a visit.

In Croydon on a Friday night graft, needed refueling for the late shift, called met by lovely welcoming staff really helpful in helping us with our choices... Then the food wow absolutely delicious best meal I've had in the last 4 days 5 star 👍

I was on some training in the area from east London and I fancied some quick lunch! The burgers are to die for! Juicy and so tasty! Wings were so delicious and fries were so fresh and crispy! I would definitely come back here again!!!! Worth the drive :)

Ordered it first time after seeing new store being opened locally, since there are many halal ones in the area. Burgers came really squashed and looked so tiny, so portion was not fulfilling. It was okay, not too fascinating, disappointed with the fries as they were not fresh. I ordered Smack Down Meal, Chicken Burger Meal, Buffalo Wings, Cheese Burger Kid Meals… For the value I will not buy again…

Would I drive from east London to a south for a burger?..absolutely if it’s a 4 Patti smack down burger! Bun was super soft, Patti meat just melts in your mouth with the Smack secret sauce ….and the wings…fresh out off the frier. Soft, tender and full of flavour! (I had the lemon pepper wings) would come back again? Absolutely. Only one problem…it’s in south london, and with todays petrol prices I don’t know if I can make it every week! Come on guys, how long before we have one in east London!

I went to the Croydon food festival and saw a bright pink branded burger store which I hadn’t seen before thought I’d try it out as It said daily fresh ground Angus beef burgers in the shop window. I love Angus beef as I lived in Scotland as a child and haven’t seen a place in Croydon like this. It was extremely busy but they got through the queue pretty quickly which was fantastic. Nice variety of burgers from beef, chicken to veg and even Fish ! Also had wraps too. I ordered a “smack down” burger as I love beef and wanted 2 patties, I chose normal fries but regretted it after I saw someone on the table eating lattice Fries!! Service was great staff were polite and helpful despite being very busy and under a lot of pressure with so many orders. They also all had gloves on and caps / nets on which I was impressed with . I received my order in under 10 minutes, watched them make the burgers from scratch great teamwork, really enjoyed the burger, the beef was juicy and succulent and crispy on the outside literally mouth watering, saw the fresh salad being added to burgers as I waited which was lovely, they also gave me a free spicy sauce which tasted incredible. Ask for that ! I would go back and will definitely get the different fries and order the big smack (3 patty) and will bring my kids next time as they had kids meals and milkshakes , great to see they cater for children makes our lives so much easier. I also went back to get an ice cream which is just like a McFlurry from McDonald’s but better as they add a nice chocolate sauce. See you next week for another smack ! :)
