I recently had a lovely meal at Slug and Lettuce with my parents, and I just had to take a moment to highlight the exceptional service we received from Emily. From the moment we were seated, she made us feel welcome and truly went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. She was attentive, friendly, and made our dining experience feel special. The food good but Emily's service is what really made the meal stand out. It's clear she genuinely cares about her guests, and her warm, professional demeanor really enhanced our time there. Highly recommend both the food and the service!

Went for a bottomless brunch for my friend birthday and the service was excellent! Millie our server was very quick to come to our table throughout our two hour slot to take orders and the drinks were lovely and made quickly. I had the Plant based brunch which was very filling and good quality. The birthday girl even received a free bottle of prosecco and a birthday brownie, complete with candle! A very lovely afternoon spent there!

A fantastic day for my Sister's birthday Grace our waitress was so lovely she kept the drinks flowing the food was great it was our second time here and we will be back 😀

Pretty generic and uninspiring but it did us the job of somewhere to watch the rugby and some food. Couldn't hear myself think but that's what you come to expect on a Saturday night.

Overpriced food. Not great quality, half the menu options not available. Go elsewhere.

Friendly waitress. However we’re students and just earning everyone to beware the offers they advertise on their website, they are not clear whatsoever. You will end up paying much more, look at the T’s&C’s. Probably wouldn’t go here again , it’s too expensive and not clear on the website what you’re paying, so maybe exceptions on weekends etc.

It was pretty good for value drinks wise, however Grace was really empathetic and although we weren’t happy with our seating plan, she helped move us slightly and was extra attentive to our table whenever we needed anything, she had a smile the whole way through and was so lovely :) would definitely come again!

Rosie, our server at S&L on Grey Friars Road Cardiff, was FANTASTIC! She was extremely friendly, polite and super speedy even during extremely busy hours! Always checking if we need anything else, fastest service is ever! Would defo come back here, thank you Rosie for creating such a lovely experience for me & my partner. Anyone would be lucky to have her as an asset to their company!

Do not go if you have specific allergen requirements. I am coeliac and upon arrival asked for their gluten free menu, of which I was handed allergen information and ALL of their bottomless brunch evening options had gluten. I was not offered an option, it was either pay for a meal i couldn’t eat or pay for all my drinks. For a big well known chain like S&L i was highly let down. The room had music that was way to loud and the atmosphere was chaotic with security kicking people out at one point. Disappointing.

We had our brunch at 4pm and our waitress Pili was fab and was very fast and efficient. Our food was served hot and tasty and the drinks were consistently flowing.

Nice food, prices not too bad for a city location. Friendly staff, decent selection at the bar. The complimentary drink was a bit of a faff though, having to be done via an app. I gave up in the end and just bought one as I had show tickets and didn't want to be late. Other than that though, dining here was a pleasant experience.

Disappointing Evening Brunch Experience in Cardiff I’ve always loved S&L in other cities, but my recent visit to the Cardiff location left me very disappointed. 1. Food Issues: The food we received was not what we pre-ordered, and our party included individuals with food allergies that were not accommodated. 2. Rushed Out: Nicolas, the bouncer, escorted us out 10 minutes before the end of our brunch time, stating they needed the table. When I mentioned posting about the experience online, I was told to leave “ASAP.” 3. Chaotic Atmosphere: Despite booking an early evening brunch at 5 PM, the atmosphere was incredibly loud. There were many drunk individuals, and the door near our table was constantly being opened. 4. Cleanliness: No one picked up glasses throughout our stay, leaving the table cluttered. Overall, this location was disappointing compared to others. I strongly recommend exploring other venues in Cardiff for a better experience.
