Slug and Lettuce, Woodford Green, Essex in Lewisham

Signs were bad upon arrival, tables stacked with dirty plates and glasses, and those that were empty of plates and galsses were sticky and unclean. Went to bar to order drinks and was chatoic, first two attempts of ordering a beer (Amstel and Ashai) were out of stock but nothing to say as such until atempting to order. Food was ordered and delivered, went for the S&L sharer, which was delivered reasonably quickly. No offer of cutlery, condiments or even plates! I went searching for napkins and found 4 so took them back to the table. Since we had no plates we used the napkins to put the sticky chicken wings on - no wonder the tables were sticky. Burgers were stone cold (only ate 3 of the 4 between us). Our friends ordered the same and asked if it came with chips, was advised not. So they ordered a portion of fries. Oddly enough, our sharer came with fries and the portion ordered, there's only came with the fries they ordered and not what should have been included in the meal?? Chips were bland and dry. No ketchup (apparently out of stock) but when a different waitress bougt food for table next to us and they asked for ketchup they were given some?? Was the only terrible service and food of the whole weekend in London. Will never go back there or any S&L again.

Drinks took 45 mins to arrive. And gave us the wrong drinks… We gave up after 1hr 30… of waiting. And cocktails were bland

Food and drinks were fantastic and on time! We pre booked and table was ready on time and clean. Will be back when in London

El restaurante es muy bonito. Pero cuando llegamos a nuestras mesas, todo salió mal. Las mesas estaban pegajosas, así que le pedimos a la camarera que limpiara las mesas. Después de eso, las mesas todavía estaban pegajosas, así que tomamos algunas toallitas desinfectantes. Las toallitas se pusieron marrones después de limpiar las mesas. La comida estaba parcialmente fría, quemada o (como se puede ver en la foto) ya se estaba desmoronando. Las verduras estaban obviamente fuera de la caja y no frescas. El puré de patatas era harinoso y el agua no sabía nada bien. Uno de nuestros compañeros tenía lápiz labial en su vaso. El desierto estaba bien pero los platos estaban sucios. La camarera no fue muy amable en absoluto. . . Estoy decepcionado

A party of 4 of us had the pleasure of visiting the Slug and Lettuce, Romford on Sat 2 Feb @ 1.30. From the moment we walked through the doors we were made to feel welcome. I had reserved a table and was shown to a booth, which was brilliant. The bar staff are so professional and friendly even advising a friend of mine with their meal! we will certainty be returning! just to add everywhere was spotlessly clean.

I cant fault the food and service they were all spot on. Main problems i had was the environment was way too loud, you couldnt hear yourself think! And the Restaurant was very understaffed, only 2 waitresses to run the bar, deliver food and clean up when it was full, there should have been at least 3 people on especialy in london. Cant fault how hard the waitresses worked though, just management need to look into this to help them turn over covers better

The Slug and Lettuce, St Mary Axe is a restaurant serving brunch, before 12 noon, snacks, small meals before 4pm and after 4pm. a larger selection of small plates, sharing boards, main meals, burgers, sides and desserts. The prices are very reasonable. There is a full bar serving most drinks. There is very pleasant seating under quaint low lighting. In the afternoon the restaurant is not too crowded. Lunch is from £6 on Monday to Friday. Vegetarian options available. A Bottle of prosecco wine is available for £12 on a Wednesday.

Lovely location, food was fantastic and the waitress was really helpful and really nice. Would deffo recommend. And good prices even though it's on South bank.

Great place to chill out in very airy and has a garden in the back and seating outside. Also good music in the eve for dancing with a few drinks

Arrive on bank holiday mon approx 4.30 . Found out mondays is 50% off all food. Woohoo ! Even though it was a bank hoilday , drinks arrived very quickly by the lovely Kiera and stater arrived soon after. Mains arrived hot and well cooked. Nice astmosphere . Good menu of food would definelty be back ..

We get together once a month with friends as we dont always get to see them, and 50% off on food is too much of a good deal to turn down. The decor is lovely, the pub is relaxed and a nice atmosphere. It wasnt busy at all. However the service was so slow, that we walked to the bar and it took almost FIFTEEN minutes for all six of us to place our orders.... no exaggeration. There were two men working and despite the fact that there was ony and a handful of people in there, they may have required more staff OR to have worked a little faster themselves!! The food came out in dribs and drabs and not alltogether, which I do understand that some foods take longer to cook, but that isnt always the best when one person has finished their dinner and someone else has just started. Starters came at the same time as food - which never makes sense to me!! The had run out of sweet potato fries and without even informing anyone that ordered them, they just substituted with chips.... The food is half price on a Monday which is great, but the portions were smaller than I remember, and the food wasnt as good as it used to be. The parking outside the venue states that you can park after a certain time, however a traffic warden came to give a ticket to one member of the party... Despite the great price, the food and service was below average. Not sure we will be running back to this Slug and Lettuce again.....

My local Slug and Lettuce is good. I must say that the refit last year that turned it into a French brothel took a little getting use to. But I suppose I must have got use to it or things have been changed and I have not noticed. For me one of the highlights of the week has always been the discounted wines on Wednesday. Not a great wine list and is was changed a few years ago, and not for the better. However I was pleased to see today that it had been improved. It was such a pity that some the wines listed were not on offer and the staff were unable to explain why not, other than a printing mistake in the list. There did not seem to know that Pinot Noir and Carignon are different. I can be a wine snob but surely stuff like this this is among the basics! I will say no more now as I have contacted the owners and await their response. Just a word on the food, it is plentiful and cheap if you want something to soak up the booze on a night out, plus there are deals on cocktails if that's your thing.

We were passing by and the Slug and Lettuce looked welcoming so we decided to try the restaurant for lunch. We waited 40 mins for our food to be served, despite the fact that there were only two other couples in the restaurant. When my husband's food arrived it was burnt around the edges and completely dried out. He tried to cut it but it was too hard to cut. We called the server over to the table and just got an "oh!" with no apology at all! The server asked what we wanted to do about it (really??!!) and obviously we asked for a new plate of food. I had ordered a salad it was mostly lettuce and had very little else in it with any substance. At no time was any apology offered ,which is very bad customer service, they did not try to make amends in any way eg a free drink or a free desert. We also felt it was very expensive for the portion size and will definitely never go back!

Our family group of 12 (8 adults, 2 children and 2 toddlers requiring high chairs) were made most welcome when we arrived unexpectedly for an early evening meal on Sunday 16th February. The staff quickly put two tables together to accommodate us all. Service was quick, and efficient. Everyone, including a vegetarian family member, found a food choice to suit, from an extensive menu. Our drinks order was soon dealt with - wine, with soft drinks for children and drivers. We were informed about offers available, eg low-cost meals for children accompanying adults. Food was well presented and tasty. Our waitress was attentive to the little ones. We would recommend the restaurant and would eat there again. We had originally gone to a restaurant in another location. But were unable to book on a Sunday, were told that it would be 45 minutes wait for tables, that we would be split up into 2 or 3 groups and would not be seated together. We didn't wait. So glad we found the Slug and Lettuce at Woodford Green. What a difference!
