very good value meals especially if you are on a low budget, good value for families with children, lots of good food choices and deals on every day. Staff always happy and friendly, food times generally very good timing from ordering, quality of food is much better than Wetherspoons or sizzling pubs

We found this place while on holiday Torquay 5 minutes away from caravan site brilliantly, cheap deals and staff where all polite would definitely pop in again next time down

It seems there is an offer every day and it’s incredible value for money, staff are very efficient and this is still my favourite budget friendly family restaurant.

It appears I cannot write a new review for this place so I will edit my previous one, the score remains the same but I think I have to notably mention the fact that our son (who has a severe dairy allergy) was very well catered for and looked after.

Had a great time this Sunday, A roast dinner and a drink for a tenner? you just cant go wrong!

Lovely little place and a nice playground for the kids to play in. Food was fairly cheap but really good.

Words can NOT describe how bad it is in here. First off we got food and it arrived wrong and missings items. Then we went to use the toilets and OHH MY GOD the mens was like nothing you have seen. Urinals ALL fully blocked with tissue and other such matter, so pee was leaking over the top and on to the floor then the actual loo had poo on the seat and everywhere bar the bowl. Then to finish the lot off there was a lovely used pair of pants on top of the sisturn. We told a member of staff and they nodded and walk in the other direction. I then finished food and went to order a drink because the chicken I had was like eating SAND and I was ignored even after I asked point blank for a drink.

We visited the sloop yesterday, it was really busy when we arrived. I was really impressed with how quickly we got our food. We love the sloop.

We have been to Sleep Inn many times now. The everyday deal is amazing. They have got some good vegan options as well. The service is excellent. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Good play area for kids, spacious dining, affordable. Overall I would say it’s a must visit place. The place is always lively and full. Recommend pre-booking for bigger groups.

Came for food with my family yesterday, and even though it was busy (which I fully expected) I though the service was great. The guy behind the bar was really helpful and food came faster than expected due to the wait time I was given. The kids loved playing outside, so we stayed for a few drinks afterwards. An afternoon well spent!

Took a young lady on a date here on a busy Friday, she was more impressed with the server than her date! You couldn't move for people so I recommend that you book in advance, it was very busy and Matt our server was very attentive and nothing was too much hassle

I came in this evening (a Wednesday evening) at a little before 5pm. I was astonished to find that it was incredibly busy, but soon saw why. The staff were excellent, particularly Kurtis behind the bar and Kyle who served us at the table. The portions were excessively large so we had to request take-away boxes to take 3/4 of the food home with us, but it was nicely presented and excellent value. All of the staff were obviously rushed but efficient, calm and polite and I was very impressed.

Visited for lunch in the week and the food came out exactly as described, all tasted lovely. members of staff worked really hard and constantly busy keeping the customers happy. Keep up the good work see you again soon.

Had a birthday party here, had a great time. Food was cheap especially when there is deals on, every day of the week 24/7. Would highly recommend coming here for any occasion. Even if it’s just going for a sole pint.

Check your receipt they dont give you their Pub classic 2 for £12.49 if you are using Tesco vouchers, I come here often but this week they charged me £20.00 instead of the £12.49 , I was told you cant use these offers anymore with vouchers! I said they should state it in Menu because I have always used it he said Tesco changed it I contacted Tesco they are looking into it as they said they hadn't.

Amazing quality food and great staff would highly recommend

I was down in the area with work colleagues, and a single nights meet for a bite to eat turned into 3 nights in total meeting for fantastic food, great customer service, relaxed but still positively charged, and all for a crazy cheap price. I challenge people to prove me wrong.

I raved to everyone about the pies served in this pub and regularly went there with my family because Tesco give you vouchers if you have £5 you get £10 to spend in sloop which I have always done, however this week I put my order in and they never took off the pub classics which is 2 meals for £12.49 mid week we always get the same thing never had a problem! Yesterday they tell me you can't get the offer with Tesco vouchers any more!! Then i said they should state this on their menu before people order , I said I always get this offer when I eat there then was told it has now changed so make sure before you order what you will be paying for.

Popped in for a quick bite, couldn't fault the food at all - piping hot and tasted great. The service was on point, staff were very accommodating, see you all in the new year!

If you want the best mocha in town, seek out Haydon, what an absolute legend - perfect to the final sip, would recommend to anyone. 10/10 Would also recommend the 'home run' burger especially on a Friday, the chicken tikka, beef lasagne and steak and ale pie are also very good. Nice and attentive staff, clean tables and lovely atmosphere - will keep on visiting.

Excellent friendly service good fresh food

I can honestly say worse food I've ever eaten in any pub... I had sausage and mash which is probably the most easiest dish to cook with onion gravy. The sausages are very cheap and nasty full of hard little bits of grizzle... The mash potatoes is obvious smash from a packet not done or prepared fresh and the food was totally unacceptable at the price you are paying for a meal to be brutally honest could of got a meal in weatherspoons much cheaper and better than this place how ant one can give this place a 5* review bests me obvious people can't tell the difference between fresh and frozen... on the plus side I was offered another meal for my disappointment bit if u can't do sausage and mash I decided not to have another meal as it completely put me off and to call this place the sloop its should be called the slop as its what they are serving paying customers enjoy at your own risk all.

Usually, I have a nice meal here when we come down from Halifax to visit my son and family, but today, they must of had problems in the kitchen as it took 1 hour from ordering to delivering our food and not even an explanation as to why And out of the 7 meals, 4 was boarding warm to cold when we mentioned this to the server He came back and offered us a round of drinks, which most didn't want Let's hope our next visit there is a vast improvement

Great pub, food is delicious, loads of seating indoors and out. Really nice play area with wood chip floor for a soft landing. Really popular with the kids and very family friendly. Good value. Loads of parking available and definitely somewhere I will return. Bus stop right outside.

We had a lovely meal at the Sloop. Although Monday night specials is steak night. Sorry we have no steak available. My wife had a lovely fish and chips but no steak for me. So I ordered a breakfast with no mushrooms or beans please, could i have a grilled tomato or slice of toast instead and was told after asking kitchen that it was not possible. So the breakfast looked very poor on a large plate. One sausage, one and a half bacon , one egg and a hash brown for £7.79 disappointing. Added on as enable to leave separate review Went there again on Saturday, wife ordered lasagne which was OK, I finally ordered my 8oz rump steak with no peas and onion ring, asked again could I have a grilled tomato and was told no. While waiting for our meals I notice the manager busy working clearing tables so I told him that I was refused a grilled tomato with my steak and he went to the kitchen and asked then came back to me and said we don't do grilled tomatoes with meals but if you ordered salad you will get sliced tomato with that, is it a special machine for grilling tomatoes that they haven't heard of as other pub are only too willing to supply grilled tomatoes instead of peas and onion rings. So owners review don't make much sense below. Please sort it out

Great service and nice atmosphere. The food was pretty standard but would recommend if just popping out for a casual bite, although we arrived before it got busy and people were being told a 25 minute wait for food.

Great place to come for a well valued meal , the service was good and the Server on shift lunch 15th June I apologise for not getting your name but you made us feel welcome and was attentive and had no hesitation to tell me how menu item were cooked .

We visit the Sloop regularly, food is great value for money and even when they're rushed off their feet all members of staff go above and beyond. Great place for all ages!

Great breakfast at offer price.

Amazing breakfast served till 12, 4 bacon, 4 sausage, 4 hash browns, 3 eggs, blk pud, beans, Tom's and toast all for just £8.99.. really good quality for the bargain price. Smaller sizes are available, the breakfast wrap also really good value and with 3 drinks was only £17..

Good place to take kids. Big plates of food for not very much. Adequate free parking. Daily specials available on the already reasonable prices. Outside play area for kids.

A Hungry Horse is a Hungry Horse.. simple really. My family and I find that if we go anywhere different in the country we will invariably find ourselves having a meal in a Hungry Horse at some point if there is one around, as you know what you are getting: which is a decent meal at a decent price. And for young kids to have an idea what they might be having saves a lot of hassle.. We found this one to have a good amount of parking available, nice and clean inside and good food. Sadly the toilets lacked soap and the loo rolls are those which poke out of a small hole and always snap off inside, you know the ones I mean, leaving a little person in-need, still in-need.. we have found this to be the case more and more recently with many different places. Often customers don't bring this to attention, so it doesn't/can't get noticed. We had a small person say that the tomato pasta they had did not look or taste as usual, so would not eat it. We brought that to the attention of the staff and manager who was happy to offer to change the order and we had a happy small person. 100% top drawer manager. Thank you for our evening, we enjoyed it and would have no problem returning (though maybe with soap and a small loo roll in our bag..)

Lovely food and friendly staff who were very accommodating when part of group arrived very early for our booked table.

We were out for a dog walk at Parke Bovey Tracey. Could not park up for lunch at a pub in Bovey. Googled dog friendly pubs and the Sloop came up. We turned up unannounced with no table booked. The host greeted us and found us a table for 2 in the doggy section. I bought myself a pint of Lager and Pint of soda water for my wife. Soda water was free. Friendly service at the bar. Ordered 2 Roast Turkeys on their Special deal. We were served our food really fast. We didn't know about the cutlery station so the guy who bought us the food went and got us cutlery. The Roasts were very generous and tasty. The atmosphere was friendly and buzzing. Very impressed and we will go there again. Thank you Sloop Inn smile ☺

Went for a meal with family on a Tuesday lunchtime. We all agreed that the food was delicious. I had the 15 oz gammon and the portion size was enormous, 3 largish pieces of gammon perfectly cooked with egg, pineapple, onion rings and lovely chips. I couldn't finish it all and brought one portion of gammon home. My cousin had the half roast chicken with jacket potato and salad and requested a doggy bag to take half the chicken home. The mixed grill was also huge. My husband's steak and chips was also well cooked. Two of them had apple and berry crumble with custard, my cousin had millionaire shortcake, again all delicious,.The prices were very reasonable too, much cheaper than back home. The price for the 4 main meals, a bottle of wine, half of bitter and Carling came to £54.93, this did include 15% discount as AA members. Would definitely return to this pub for food. The barman was very friendly too. All in all a good experience.

ordered a full monty mixed grill and stated to the bartender my partner had an allergy to eggs, originally his food arrived with egg on top, sent it back to the kitchen and after half of the food had been eaten, we found more pieces of egg lying around his chicken.

Myself and my partner kaz eat out here often and the service is always amazing. Matt is a top manager and the staff always friendly. The food is good value for money and generally fast service too. They also take blue light card so bonus. Would recomend the sloop to anyone

Pleasant views of the area and nice comfortable seating (important for a large chap like me). Quick and efficient service. Good prices. Good parking spaces. I have recommended this place to my friends.
