Slim Chickens in Cardiff

Nos detuvimos para una comida de desayuno rápido y fue muy bueno. Precios razonables. La comida era agradable y caliente. El personal era amable. El tocino era crujiente y un huevo bien corrido, que nos encantó. Sin duda tendríamos el desayuno allí de nuevo!

Enjoyed the food here because it's free! I was treated to a hearty meal here. Cool soda fountain, fun to get Coke. The customers are varied & lively, interesting place.

Lugar concurrido en el corazón de la calle David's Centre, muy favorecido por los jóvenes. Difícil de ordenar en las máquinas proporcionadas, pero el personal muy servicial en el mostrador. Tenía cuatro o cinco trozos pequeños de pollo con patatas fritas y un batido de leche que estaban bien, pero no valen £ 15. Cada mesa tenía un gran rollo de papel de cocina presumiblemente en lugar de servilletas. Lo siento, pero no impresionado.

Really tasty and quick service. It's a bit of a guilty pleasure because it's basically good quality chicken strips and chips. The slim sauce is one of my favourites out of the dips.

Meh disappointing and expensive Chicken decent but fries not good - dry, over seasoned. Won’t be back - prices equivalent to a proper restaurant in centre.

Missing milk shake and took an hour and a quater

I ordered at 8:15pm it said 20 to 30 minutes and it took over an hour and a bit to get here. my food was stone cold i had to completely reheat it all and my drink was put on top on my floor so that was the warm. absolute joke

Our food was never delivered! We don’t have our money or our food, the driver lied and said it was delivered and it wasn’t! I want a response now, my food and money back. He has given our food to someone else or taken it with him

I have been waiting for my food for an hour and a half. I am a lorry driver who has parked up for the night with no food and when the food arrived it was inedible! The food is freezing cold and when I confronted the driver in a polite manner about the reason for it being so late he shrugged his shoulders and hardly spoke 2 words before just riding off and ignoring me! Slim chicken confirmed the food was collected at 8:19 and it arrived to me at 9:35 and it’s 5 mins from here in a car !

So disappointed with Slims, come here for my lunch break sometimes 3 times a week because I’ve always said they’re the best tenders in town, always a decent size always cooked well, buffalo sauce is the only option I select in over 30 orders. Today I got 5 of the smaller tenders they could’ve found in the packet which for £8.95 was a bit of a joke, they were not as juicy at all, mostly dry and I’m never one for complaining about everything because 1 thing was wrong, person serving was lovely but even the sauce, I love buffalo and especially the slims one but nah this was awful, tasted like it’s been kept outback for years, just generally disappointed, I know I’ll be back because usually you guys are great and hopefully just an off day.

Did not get my milkshake or any drink so would like to be refunded for that item.

chicken taste is super good. tenders are great, wings are amazing. sauces slim is a bit spicy but great in cold. service is fast. affordable and the portion can satisfy you

Fue con el sándwich de pollo, alitas una sola comida tierna. El sándwich de pollo era pequeño e insípido, el único tierno era el mismo, diminuto e insípido. La ternura más pequeña que he visto. ¿Por eso se llama Pollos delgados? 🤔 Chips y alas estaban bien. Pero teniendo en cuenta el precio, este es un valor horrible.

Food was delivered fast. No frills but step above fast food restaurants. Unlimited drinks refills, including hot drinks.

Went with a friend, for price the food was so expensive so was hoping for good taste. However, when opened the box we got met with the smallest tenders ever known to man, the box was not decently sized. Very expensive. However, food came quick and the milkshake was banging. However, selling such expensive foods, means that the quality has to be high and it wasnt today unfortunately. The size of the tenders were attrocious.

Hardly any chips would not order again

Decided to eat here today for the first time. No menus except on screens. Went to order and the girl behind the counter said “we’ve run out of chips”. She actually found it funny and didn’t apologise. Our group left and had an amazing meal elsewhere.

Love the food, their chicken is always juicy, tender and nicely seasoned. Skin on fries are great, the garlic toasts are decent, and the dip selection is really good in quantity, and amazing in quality. This place is a good quality chain, has a pretty decent vegan option, and is just generally good for the price. You can get a meal from £6.

I ordered the buffalo loaded fries with chicken. When I began eating it, I found a piece of ham in my food. I cannot eat pork nor can I eat food that has touched pork because of religious reasons. I couldn't continue with my meal and had to throw it away.

Slim Chickens Review: A Wing Fling Gone Wrong My recent visit to Slim Chickens left me feeling disappointed, to say the least. I opted for the 8-piece wing meal, hoping for a flavorful and satisfying experience. Sadly, the wings were overwhelmingly salty, overpowering any other taste they might have had. This excessive saltiness made it impossible for me to finish the meal, leaving 4 wings behind. The accompanying toast was dry and lacked flavor; a simple addition of salted butter would have made a world of difference. The dips provided were also lackluster and did not enhance the meal in any way. Overall, my Slim Chickens experience was a major let-down. The overly salty wings, dry toast, and subpar dips left me feeling unsatisfied and disappointed. I would rate this meal a 2 out of 5 stars. There's room for improvement, and I hope Slim Chickens takes steps to address these issues to provide a more enjoyable dining experience.

Juicy chicken but nice and crisp on the outside.

I went for lunch on Thursday the 29th of August 2024 with my 3 year old daughter at 1 pm. Unfortunately I was treated with disrespect as I waited on the queue to be seated. I waited for too long with my child and I saw one of the staff giving seats to other customers who came after us. Very disrespectful and disappointing so I just left and didn't buy my lunch their. Wont go their again.

Best chicken tenders ever! The Classic Chicken Sandwich received rave reviews, too. Fabulous service; quick, efficient & helpful. Very clean.

Visited Slim Chickens today! The food was lovely. We tried the wings and standard burger and all was lovely! Super fresh, hot and really large portions! Also had a flake milkshake and was absolutely delicious!

Made an order for delivery. Called restaurant to say items missing they laughed and said phone Uber. Staff are rude and not helpful at all similar to Macdonalds staff

Dirty restaurant, found maggots in my chicken. Staff are rude and uncourteous. Avoid go to Frankie and Bennys instead

Forgot my strawberry milkshake

I heard this place was famous for its chicken tenders…WRONG!!!! This ain’t no where near to proper TENDERS. They’re strips. Really small portions and size for that price. Would never go there again, it was bland and not worth the money.

pretty good for my first time ordering

Visited today 28/03/2024. Was served by a lovely guy who was really helpful and polite . I didn’t catch his name but he had a black shirt tattoo and ginger hair . We had two 6 piece chicken wing meals as always . My wife picked up a wing and there was a blood bubble which burst . Every piece of her meal was red with blood inside . We don’t have pictures as we have them back . My wife is a cook and she does know all about the temperatures what chicken needs to be etc but this was dark red . Only two out of my six was bloody but nowhere near as bad as hers . I do have a pic of mine and that is bad enough . The young man did give my wife tenders which was cooked to perfection but she really didn’t want to eat anything else from there . Such a shame as we go here a few times a month and have never experienced that before. The young lady did say it’s fine but I’m not too sure she really knew what she was on about . Will not return .. SHAME ….. not even a refund was offered

Really disappointing. Chicken tasted of really low quality, the batter was soggy, barely tasted like anything, tasted like it had been sat around for a while. Also the sauces we had ordered tasted nothing like what we have had previously. They were either out of date or the complete wrong sauce - or maybe they changed the recipe but it wasn’t nice. As I said, very disappointing, one of the worst chicken meals I’ve ever had.

We visit this place each time me and my family are in Cardiff. Cant go wrong with it.

Came with less tenders than I bought

A great place to eat as an alternative to another fried chicken place. Plenty of choice to choose from and includes free refills on soft drinks. When it's busy it's difficult to find a seat so choose you eating time carefully. I've been here a few times and I'll be back again.

Waited ages for driver to be available. Kept changing delivery time.

Food was nice but the delivery driver made an inappropriate comment at my girlfriend and asked for her instagram.

The portion of chips was not very big for having paid £1.50 extra for a large size. Can’t imagine how small the regular size is.

Decided to come here today and try it out as I was hungry. I ordered the 4 tenders combo and it was nothing but delicious. The chicken was perfect a little hot but hey I’m not complaining. The service and staff were quick and really nice the place as a whole is great but the atmosphere is a bit loud but it is what is it. However if I come back to Cardiff I am definitely coming back to slim chicken 10/10

this would 100% be a 5 star based on the food quality, friendliness of staff and the quick service, however, there is one massive con for me and that’s the temperature of the room, i find that it’s way too hot in there and sometimes the heat can make you feel a bit nauseous. but as i said, regardless of that there’s nothing i can complain about.

Used to love this place was a treat when I came into Cardiff but sadly they’ve stopped doing any of the plant based options which is a massive shame.

This was a fantastic restaurant to dine in at, having a large seating area that accommodated the busy lunch period I visited! There is plenty of kiosks for self service and the options are clearly presented at the counter, where my voucher for a free milkshake with a meal was accepted by the friendly staff. The Chicken Tenders meal was yummy with the different sauces as well as a surprise extra slice of toast; I really enjoyed the Oreo milkshake too and the drinks machine is reliable as usual for unlimited refills! Seating is comfortable, cleanliness had been maintained and the service was faster than typical of the franchise.

After ordering over £80 worth of food, we had to wait over 2 hours for it to arrive. What a waste of time ordering for delivery. Next time I will be looking to collect!

Me and my wife made a first breakfast menu visit on Friday 3rd Nov 2023. Having eaten here on several occasions off the main menu, we never knew they had a breakfast menu. We was actually on our way to Tim Hortons and spotted it on the way and decided to give it a try. Obviously the menu was new to us and I had no idea what to expect. I was greeted by Brandon at the till (top lad) he was able to answer everything I threw at him and able to accommodate my request with ease. Service was then carried out by a young girl called Beth, very helpful and she checked that everything with our meal was ok a minute or two after we received the food. Another successful visit to Slim Chicken St David’s 2 Cardiff 💯 will be back in a short while. Thanks guys 💪🏼
