Not been for a while and won't be going back food bland and basic and small portions and drinks expensive thought the overall experience very poor value

Zero phone reception, and the cafe does not allow customers to use their wifi.

Food is perfect every time. Staff very professional and attentive.

Our 3rd visit here ands a special occasion it was my 60th. The staff went above and beyond to make our party go perfectly Food was brilliant all arrived together and was amazing. The Korean chicken starter I could have had as main course again it was that good. Overall brilliant food amazing staff...the best in Hull

Nice place on a quite central way. The menu offers different options, we took all the steak. The meat was not as good as expected, it was too hard, I don't know if it's a cooking or meat quality issue. Good selection of beers, service quite fast.

Loved the food, lovely atmosphere sorry terrible photo, but tasted amazing. And the deserts are amazing too (forgot the photo) and great value. So to sum up, consistent great food, good value and great atmosphere.

This place is a great find. My meal was utterly delicious. I had the bacon wrapped bratwurst...yum. Our waitress was so lovely too xx

Visited on Friday evening for a large family gathering. Staff were friendly and very accomodating. Food was excellent and all brought to the table at the same time. We did pre-order which is a good service. The venue is cosy with soft lighting giving it a relaxing atmosphere. Great place to spend time with family and friends. Thank you to all the team who looked after us.

Had the beef stroganoff (gluten free) and it was amazing. The chips were so good and there was plenty of food. The fairy lights created a really nice atmosphere.

Attended sleepers last night in a group of 12. We all ordered but unfortunately when the food arrived mine was missing. It was quite clear by staff that they had forgotten to make it. By the time my meal arrived most the other ladies had finished or was just about to. I was offered a free drink but as i already had a pint of coke i declined. I did ask if i could have the price of the free drink taken off my bill as it wasn't enjoyable been the only one of 12 eating. The manger i spoke to was quite rude and said no we offered you a drink so that's it. The food was nice but having to sit for 15 minutes watching everyone else at the table, then having to rush my meal really spoilt the evening.

Another tasty meal at Sleepers, with 11 of us they did really well. Food was hot and very tasty, everyone enjoyed their starters and mains. Staff friendly and polite.

We are quite the regulars. Never had a bad meal there yet. Good fresh food. Not over priced. Always a deal maker. Sunday lunch the best.

The service has always been good. Nice people. I like that there are not glaring lights, and some parts are just natural, ambient light. The full English breakfast is very hearty (mushrooms are great) Some of the other dishes seem a little expensive but I am told they are good quality.

Did christmas eve family meal here - food was gorgeous had the Korean pork belly and just melted in my mouth

The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was warm. Not too noisy, not too quiet. Definitely recommend.

Taken for birthday lunch Sunday 24th September.had the roast beef. Delicious. Large portions. Vegetables cooked to perfection. Staff friendly and efficient.

I dined here for my friends birthday. The food was delicious! The drinks were wonderful too. The styling is just stunning and the atmosphere was great! The service was just a tad slow (asking for next drink, the bill etc) but I would definitely return! This was only a minor detail.

Great service, friendly staff and food was spot on. My son said the Korean BBQ pork was the best thing he had ever had. There was a slight problem with the mains order but rectified very quickly, we were quite a large table so just a small mistake considering everything else was fantastic. My son had a perfect 16th birthday and we will definitely be back. Thank you to all the staff.

Great food, very good service (cannot say what the service is like when very busy, but I'm sure it would be just as good). The establishment is nicely decorated. However, a couple more light bulbs might not go a miss, especially towards the back of the premises where it appears to be a tad dim. As with many premises along Newland Avenue parking, nearby may be difficult. However, as there is a licenced bar, one's who are drinking shouldn't be driving anyway!

Visited on a Saturday night for a joint birthday meal for my wife and her brother. A deposit was needed in advance as it was a large table but this was taken off the bill. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious as usual. We had starters and mains and then took our own birthday cakes which the staff were more than happy to prepare and light the candles before bringing over to us. They also provided plates and knives for us to eat the cake.

Beef stroganoff hit home, lovely, well served, chunky chips. What more could I ask for? Prices are mid range for restaurant

Most of the dishes were absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was amazing. The overall experience was ruined by a few poor dishes and the resultant poor customer service experience we received when we tried to send back the dishes. The chunky chips and the seasoned fries seem to be the exact same product. It was my understanding that fries are thin, crispy alternative to chips and yet the chips/fries we received with the Fish & Chips, the Burger & Fries and the Seasoned Fries were all the same thick chips. When we tried to send the "fries" back it was confirmed that the chunky chips we received were in fact fries. We ordered many small plates, of which one of them was the king prawns. They were disgusting and really stood out as being extremely poor next to the other delicious small plates. We tried to send them back but were told "obviously we cannot refund you unless there is something wrong with the prawns, you cannot refund them just because you dont like them". I've never had someone say that to me when sending back food. We had to insist they were overcooked (which they were... they were chewy and anaemic) before they agreed to give us a refund. An otherwise excellent experience was made extremely uncomfortable for us. We will not return here. Other restaurants on Newland Avenue are better and cheaper.

The staff where friendly from walking in,there wasn't a long wait to be served but we didn't feel rushed,the food was amazing,would highly recommend the malteaser cheesecake.

Very expensive for what you get- quality is fine but if you just want a standard sandwich type lunch and a cuppa there are more places on Newland Avenue with much better choice and cheaper prices.

Compliments to the chef at sleepers, just had beef stroganoff and it was delicious, would definitely recommend it.

Sleepers has made a bit of a change, transforming from a trendy bar into a pleasant, table service restaurant but is this move for the best. Having not visited since before the pandemic, Sleepers is now a restaurant serving a variety of choices and catering for Vegetarians & Vegans but it isn’t really a place for families. With only a few choices for children, such as tomato or cheese pasta, we had to pay for an adult size pizza and a side dish of garlic bread. The rest of us were well served however, with all of enjoying our choices. The burnt end burger which I ordered was good, and the fries that came with it were first rate. If you are looking for place for a date night treat, a get together with friends or just a good meal and a nice atmosphere, Sleepers is worth checking out. If you have children however, this might not be the place to visit. A little on the expensive side but worth a visit for a treat.

Disappointed. I’ve eaten here many times & can’t help it but always have peppercorn chicken. The portion size has decreased over the years having gone from 2 chicken breasts to now small pieces of chicken. 6 chunky chips to 4 & the rice has halved too. I didn’t mind too much as original portion size 5 years ago was too much but today everything seemed less again (only in there 3 wks ago) & 3 chips today!! Come on potatoes don’t cost that much to reduce to 3! This meal is lovely, the price has gone up since covid but come on stop messing with the portions.

Haven't eaten in sleepers for a while. Decorated since we last visited. Beef stroganoff was lovely and a decent portion size. Service was excellent. Looking forward to visiting again.

When food eventually arrived it was fantastic, however the service wasn’t great. Arrived and ordered a round of drinks and food with no problems but an hour later our food hadn't arrived and no one returned to the table to see if we wanted anymore drinks. We finally got the attention of someone and was told our food hadn’t been ordered so we would have to order again but we could have a free round of drinks for the inconvenience. We ordered some more drinks (which took another 15 minutes) and one arrived incorrect and one didn’t arrive at all. When we asked about the missing drink the waitress responded with we don’t do that cocktail anymore. An hour and 40 minutes after arriving the food turned up and was really really good, the pepper chicken was really tasty. When the bill turned up it then came with the round of drinks on even though we had been told they had been removed. The table we was sat at seemed to be ignored all night as other tables seemed to have good service so just make sure you aren’t sat near the stairs. Food - 4 stars Service - 1 star
