One of the best vegan Chinese food I’ve tried! The vegan yum yum box was sooo tasty, and had so much flavour. I would definitely recommend the salt and chili chips. I will definitely be back!

My favourite takeaway in Glasgow for sure!! The vegan menu is incredible - I’ve not had a munchie box (called a yum yum box here) in years since going vegan, so I was so excited to try Mamak’s. You will not be disappointed! The food is excellent value, really tasty, any batter is always crisp and fresh, great range of flavours and options for dishes. Staff are so friendly and lovely as well !

Honestly one of the best Chinese takeaway’s I’ve had in ages!! The salt and chilli enoki mushrooms were incredible, duck pancakes perfect, fresh and tasty chicken in black bean with green peppers. Chicken wings were juicy but also so crispy and fresh. Delivery was so quick too! So glad to have the this takeaway so close to home.

This was the worst Chinese I have ever had! They didn't deliver the rice, the chips were reheated god knows how many times. . The chicken was awful. Will not be back!!

myself and my partner travelled here from east kilbride to order a takeaway on wednesday and absolutely loved it - it was so worth the half an hour drive just for chinese food to take home. the owner is so friendly, informative and polite - she is just lovely. she made us feel so welcome, took an interest in where we had travelled from and then upon realising i was vegan and my partner was omni, she kindly invited us into the kitchen for a brief moment to reassure us that she uses separate fryers for all dietary requirements, including halal, which we thought was so thoughtful and meant i could happily eat my food without questioning it. the food was amazing, it was still hot and super fresh even by time we got home again to eat it. full of flavour, amazing mock meats and the tofu was incredible too. cannot fault this takeaway, it was so good and we will absolutely be back here again soon! we were also kindly gifted some free crispy fried enoki mushrooms and cans of juice just as an extra thank you from the owner (the mushrooms were SO GOOD - would recommend!). thank you so much for being so welcoming & kind, and for the amazing food! see you again soon 🥰

I ordered from here before the new management and I'm blown away by the new menu additions! Ordered the big vegan yum yum box and the value was incredible. Spoke to the owner while I waited and she told me all about her plans to expand the menu further even though its better than anything else I've seen at the same price. Absolutely reccomend. Do yourself a favour!

Large menu of delicious food which I’m sure would please anyone. This is the IDEAL Chinese takeaway for any vegans or vegetarians as there are endless choices. Everything I have had from here is nice and I hope to be back soon. The prices are also pretty good.

Today I ordered a take away for the first time from 6 Skirving Street. Chicken with green peppers and black bean sauce. Excellent. I think they are changing their name to Mamars Kitchen? Not sure if that’s correct. Anyway the food is very good.

Under new management and it shows. Ordered vegan chow mein, satay sauce, salt & chilli tofu and mixed veg curry with rice . All delicious and the mains were large portions. High quality food at excellent value. Will be ordering regularly!

The food here is incredible, the satay sauce, in particular, is fantastic. Great vegan options, including vegan duck and vegan chicken (if you ask). The service is so friendly, run off their feet but always with a smile on their faces. The food is well priced, fresh and always ready in minutes. Can't recommend enough!

The chicken is obviously frozen. The softest spongiest chicken I have had from a Chinese in a long time. Such a shame because the curry sauce is very tasty. But the chicken is not good at all. With all the good restaurants on shawlands and surrounding areas. I feel robbed with that chicken I attempted to eat seriously. Not good.

Had the chicken fried rice and chips. Simply awful I’m afraid. Chicken was like eating slimy salt. Fries / chips were poor as well.

Fantastic pad Thai - pretty much as good as any I’ve had in a Thai place in Glasgow. The owner is lovely and always so friendly. Genuinely astonished that the score isn’t higher. Don’t judge by one dodgy review. For me best Chinese in south side by a mile. I love salt and chilli as well, but way less variety.

Got a delivery last night just a simple beef curry/boiled rice and chips. The food was cold even tho it was delivered just 10mins after it was ordered. The beef was very chewy like rubber and when I phoned to complain I got no where safe to say defo won't be eating out of here again

New skirving Chinese is takeaway only. But it is Soo nice, me and my partner go here if we're getting anything. I usually get the shredded crispy chilli chicken which is lovely and the chicken curry is beautiful as well. The owner is so lovely, she always serves us with a smile and very upbeat, so the atmosphere is really nice, I'd recommend going here.

So so. Last take away I got was duck in plum sauce. All I could taste was pineapple. And the skin on the duck wasn't rendered properly, very very chewy and fatty which is shouldn't have been. As for the fried rice, I've had a lot better from them in the past, had worse too. Also the lovely English girl wasn't there, which is odd. She was so so so nice

Online order for home delivery :) Food arrived lovely and hot. We ordered sweet chilli honey chicken, fried rice, battered chicken, chips, honemade spring rolls with chilli dipping sauce plus a side of stir fried vegetables for healthiness ♡ We LOVED it! Recently opened back up, very decent Chinese food.

Living off the previous reputation. All the food is trash, regardless of what you order. The chefs are absolute jakes. Avoid, and even when you’re starving and it’s convenient, just head up the road and rattle some bread in the toaster. Chow Mein was potentially the saddest meal I’ve ever scuttled in my career

Nice. No that's not the word. Pleasant atmosphere, happy people, serving you, always, with a smile 😊😁, and the food , is something, you would write home, and tell your Wee Mammie about. What more can one say, everything about the place, is spot on. Hope they stay for a good few years.

I've had a bad run of Chinese takeaway in the Southside so was interested to try this new one though not expecting much. It was outstanding. I had crispy beef and Malaysian noodles. Maybe the best versions of these dishes I've ever had. Freshly cooked, friendly service and super tasty. Clearly under very different management looking at the old reviews. Maybe they should have rebranded ?

Reading some of the reviews, some were not very encouraging as were the dates reviewed! My brother in law and sister in law were popping over from sunny Kinross and fancied a Chinese takeaway and decided to try the New Skirving Chinese Take Away on Friday 17/03/2023. The lady on reception desk was charming on the phone and when arrived for my take away, took my order and gave a time when, ready for pick up. Found out that New Skirving was now in new hands only 7 or 8 weeks ago and proof of the pudding..was this going to be my 1st and last time? 🤔 The food we ordered was, lovely and we all agreed [4] that would def order again! This will def not be my last visit and am happy to recommend to others to try there mixed menu. Please note, payment is by Cash Only. I wish success with New Skirving.👍

New Chinese that has just reopened on Skirving Street, had the honey chilli chicken, peking wings, salt and chilli chicken & salt and chilli chips. Everything was on point and the service was great. Will definitely be back!

New management! Hide gem at Shawlands Had order for my dinner last Saturday! Having Char Kway Teow , salt & chilli chips , Malaysia style kung po chicken, satay chicken skewers ! Absolutely delicious! Definitely will be back again !

Never disappointed, always fresh and delicious. Ordered chicken with peppers and black bean sauce for a change tonight. Chunks of chicken breast. Hot and tasty. Thoroughly recommend 👌

Not great TBH. Defo has went downhill over the years. The chicken was the cubed stuff that i'm half convinced is fake.

Awful. Fried Rice was dark brown, dry, brittle and inedible.

The only reason it has one star is so I can leave a review. For a start I could not understand a word the girl that was serving me was saying as she mumbled her way throughout the order. Then went to the front door for a cigarette. The smoke was blowing back into the shop. As for the food well it's not what it used to be.

Had a bad experience with Skirving and wouldn’t recommend going there to anyone. My brothers order had what looked to be like hair through the fried rice, unsure if it was hair but wanted to find out by phoning up and asking.. the woman on the phone was really nice however when asking the manager he was going crazy saying we’ve complained the past 4 weeks in a row and our name flags up as we always want free food?! For a start we’ve not went 4 weeks in a row.. why would we go back to a place if we complained that much anyways? There was no solution from phoning we just wanted an apology and instead the manager was shouting but couldn’t come on the phone himself the poor woman answering the call was stuck in the middle. For the manager to lie and be so rude we won’t be back shocking way to treat customers.

Ordered a meal at 7.30 and by 9.15pm it hadnt arrived. Contacted restaurant and had a staff member who was very impolite blame everything besides the operation of the restaurant for the wait. I was offered a discounted meal next time but honestly I don’t want to deal with the place again.

The food quality was decent enough. The issue is that it was missing a portion of the order. As a result, I can't recommend this restaurant.

The worst meal we have ever tasted, we have used this restaurant for over 20 years, lately the quality of the cooking was deteriorating however nothing prepared us for the appalling dishes delivered to us last night (greasy, salted beyond belief and both utterly inedible), we will not order anything from here ever again.

For the second time my Just Eat delivery order was cancelled without explanation, maybe they just didn't need my business.

Been going here for over 10 years but this is the last time, the curry sauce has changed and is insanely salty it was great before.

This was my second time ordering from here cannot fault it. The beef curry was lovely and the salt and chilli chicken balls had a great spice, This is my definitely go to Chinese now. I would recommend to anyone looking for a new Chinese takeaway to try. 10/10

Said 60 minutes -80 and still be late after that a bit of a joke . I have had the salt and pepper chicken balls many times before this time they were chilli !!! I don’t eat spicy food so that went in the bin all that time waiting to be so disappointed

I ordered my food for 8.30 to eat with my partners food.. food came 45 minutes early but it was so good I didn’t even mind! The delivery driver was lovely too. Really nice veggie options too!

Well, such a shame that a restaurant we have ordered from for years has been taken over by new owners who have lowered the standards so badly that we won’t be ordering again - twice in the past couple of weeks we have received the wrong item ordered - delivery is always late and to be honest the quality of the food is no where near what it used to be - don’t waste your money - order elsewhere!

We had chicken and king prawn curry with fried rice. One of the best curries I had! Would recommend to everyone! 🤤😊

Order was wrong, women on the phone was unhelpful and cheeky. Chicken tasted awful, waste of money.

Thin noodles not received, was normal noodles which I don’t like . Rice wasn’t good about an hour late. None of this is usual as normally have really good meal.

Missed this place, glad to be able to get from here again. Great food as usual

Best beef fried rice I’ve had in ages !

The salt n pepper chips are usually great yesterday tho just tasted like rubber the chicken curry wasnt that great either .

I ordered 2 salt & chilli chips. Only one was delivered by mistake and other delivered later. The first one which was my husband's was lovely however the second one was horrendous. They were overcooked, very greasy and so salty they were inedible and I threw them in the bin.

Have ordered from here for years but something has changed the last couple of times I’ve ordered. It’s been late which never happened before and the food just hasn’t been as good

Food was fine but delivery was just under half an hour later than latest estimated time of arrival. Just over two hours between placing the order and receiving the food.

The food from here is always excellent. The portion sizes are very generous- a meal deal for one would feed two!. The chicken is fantastic quality which can sometimes be an issue from other places. All other dishes are great that we have tried too Delivery was really quick which suited us the food was fresh, if we wanted a later delivery we would maybe put a specific time on it but more than happy to receive our order quickly and freshly cooked. items are always there (nothing missing£ and really can never fault anything . By far the best Chinese we would highly recommend

Chicken was excellent quality, the best we've had from a Chinese takeaway. The curry sauce was OK. I ordered a Chicken Chow Mein Cantonese style. A very bland and plain chow mein arrived, not Cantonese style at all. Unfortunately wouldn't use again.

Rice was burnt and not nice. Though Salt and Pepper chips were really nice.

Sadly there have been several occasions recently when there has been something missing or wrong with our order. This time there was no sweet and sour sauce for the sweet and sour king prawns- a pretty essential part of the meal. After giving skirving years of custom it has gone down hill and won’t be ordering from them again.

Great meal, I will order again.

Best chinese in the Southside - Black Bean Sauce is absolutely bangin, noodles aren’t cooked to pieces which is a nice change, super spicy Salt n Chilli chicken and chips though but it was so tasty

Amazing, the best Chinese food I’ve ever had! Not too salty, not greasy or oily and the beef curry was tender and delicious. Also had aromatic duck pancakes which were so good! Highly recommend!

Not happy with the food I got a chicken chow mein and put the fork in and pulled up and all came up with it, was dry underneath and so was the rice and was hard grains of rice
