Decent food but very very crammed, tables are tiny annd stacked next to each other. And they apply a massive 12.5% service charge.

Visited today for the first time as had received a voucher for Christmas. Voucher had no other terms and conditions stated on it other than must be used before 31st March. We arrived to be told we could not use said voucher. When making the booking I had put the voucher code in the notes section. Nowhere in the general terms and conditions does it state vouchers cannot be used on a Saturday. The staff member directed us to a tiny option to another page on the website that said Black Friday terms and conditions. The staff member did say many other customers had also experienced this issue hence proving the terms and conditions are not clear. I contacted the person who purchased the voucher who stated it had not been purchased during Black Friday and just before Christmas and when she purchased there were no stipulations about days. We were told we could have a £75 value towards the bill which meant we would have to contribute to the 2nd person’s taster menu and also would not receive the apertif drinks on the voucher. At this point I walked out as I could not believe this was how my first experience at the restaurant was happening. Not wanting the £75 value to be wasted we continued the booking. The overall experience in the restaurant was good and excellent service from the staff. Upon leaving 3 other couples were at the service desk all experiencing the same issue we had. There is no difference in monetary value of the taster course on a weekend compared to a weekday so I don’t understand the stipulation of not to be used on a Saturday. It tainted the whole experience of the visit to the restaurant. I have also contacted customer services due to us not receiving the full amount of the voucher.

For my review, I shall give a more summarised view rather than the blow by blow account some reviewers give… Visited on 30th December 2024 (a bit late reviewing I know!), the Chippie Menu was on and it was fantastic. Personally, I found the paper napkins worked as they should, and overhearing other diners’ explanations didn’t detract from the experience. The food was superb, no one gave us a 15 minute count down towards the end. The service was exquisite, I believe it was Grace who provided the majority or the service and she was attentive, informative ans gave her own thoughts which were far from scripted. All in all an excellent experience, shall certainly be back, thank you Six by Nico Leeds version 😊

This was our first visit to Six by Nico, a restaurant highly recommended by several friends. We’d initially planned to visit a few months ago but had to cancel, so we were particularly excited to see if the experience lived up to the hype. We had a 12:30 PM lunch reservation and arrived a bit early, but this was no issue. The staff were welcoming, took our coats, and showed us to our seats promptly. However, our initial impression of the dining area was less than ideal. The tables were extremely close together, to the point where I had to squeeze between two to reach my seat. This layout meant we could clearly hear the private conversations of diners on either side of us, which made it feel like we were sharing a table with strangers. While we eventually got used to it, this lack of privacy detracted from the experience. Additionally, I was disappointed to find that paper napkins were provided instead of linen. Given the price point, I believe linen napkins should be standard. We opted for the “Nostalgia” tasting menu, priced at £44 per person. We also added a sourdough bread course with beef-dripping butter for an additional £10. While wine pairings and a cocktail menu were available, we chose to order our own drinks and water. The first three courses were excellent. Each dish was well-executed, and our waiter explained them thoroughly. Unfortunately, things started to unravel after this strong start. Course four, a “fish fingers” dish, was decent overall, though my coley was slightly overcooked and had dried out. Before this, we had been asked if we wanted to try the “My First Sushi” course at an additional £6 per person, which we agreed to. However, this dish never arrived. Initially, we assumed it might come later as a separate course, but when course five—titled “Guess Who”—was served, it became clear the sushi dish had been overlooked. “Guess Who” was a chicken-and-egg-themed dish designed to invite diners to guess its name. Unfortunately, we had already overheard the explanation at the neighbouring tables, which spoiled the intended surprise. Adding to the disappointment, the dish itself was served cold. At this point, I brought up the missing sushi course with our waiter, who was very apologetic and offered to serve it immediately. However, I declined, as the flow of the tasting menu had already been disrupted, and it no longer made sense to insert the course out of sequence. The meal ended on a high note with the final course, which redeemed some of the earlier missteps. Our total bill came to £134.75, including a service charge. Interestingly, the receipt still included a space to leave an additional tip. Given that service charges are now required to go directly to staff, it felt unnecessary to tip twice. Overall, the experience lasted about 90 minutes. While there were standout dishes and moments of great service, the cramped seating, overlooked sushi course, and occasional missteps with the food left the experience feeling inconsistent. Would we return to Six by Nico? Perhaps, but only under the right circumstances. We would consider going back as part of a group of four or more and only if the menu particularly appealed to us. While the restaurant shows flashes of brilliance, our first visit fell short of expectations, and there are areas that could benefit from improvement.

A mostly enjoyable lunchtime dining experience, and if you’re able to stick to just the main tasting menu offering it lives up to the promise of being luxury dining that’s more accessible to all. The decor of the restaurant is very pleasant being modern and clean, and the open kitchen is great to watch. While they’ve maximised the space, the tables aren’t too cramped and you’re still able to freely get out whenever you want. We took advantage of an additional starter and aperitif before the meal, which certainly helped to make it feel more of an occasion. As a result we got to overhear the ‘preamble’ for the two tables either side of us, so when it came to introducing the menu to us it did come across more as a well revised script, but perhaps it gets more natural towards the end of each menu cycle. It’s pointless describing the food in too much detail given the frequent menu changes, but every dish was presented well and with good and interesting flavours. There was the ideal amount of time left between each course and a good overview of each dish provided. The pairing wine option worked well, with good pour sizes for the food size, and again a full description given for each although felt rather unnatural in delivery. The big disappointment came at the end though. Upon booking the table you’re given a two-hour slot but fifteen minutes prior to the end of it, while still eating the final course, we were advised the table would need to be vacated very soon. Having indulged in the additional course at the start and been at the mercy of the kitchen’s serving speed throughout this felt a little unfair, especially given the large number of vacant tables throughout the rest of the dining area. Despite the ending I would return and if the menu at the time looks appealing would recommend for something a little different and memorable.

Whilst my self and my husband love a tasting menu we couldn't wait to try out his Christmas gift. However unfortunately it didn't love up to our expectations in the service category. The food was remarkable but am afraid to say the service was a let down. When we arrived we were told to take a seat anywhere near the bar we waited without a drinks menu so my husband went to locate one no real problem there. When we were taken to our seat we weren't offered to take our coats so I had to sit on mine which was a long cloak not ideal. The tables were so close to the couple sitting near us were felt we were sat together and really struggled to get in and out with out disturbing each other. I ordered the vegetarian option and my husband the normal. Whilst we didn't have the same waiter throughout I was brought the wrong dish containing fish which was already too late as I had eaten it I'm fully accepting of the fact that accidents do happen but to then charge over £25 service for such mistakes does feel a bit of a kick in the teeth!! When we were leaving we were asked whether we needed our coats getting 🤷 no one once offered to take them. All in all come for the amazing food but don't expect the same level of service.

We had the festive roast and the first three courses were lovely. Small but very tasty. We then moved on to what you would consider as the main…the three bird roast. We added the “ultimate” Yorkshire pudding at £6 each. The roast was so disappointing. It was minute. It came with a carrot half the size of my little finger and the meat was so small the three birds were indistinguishable. When we were leaving we saw much larger portions coming out the kitchen. The Yorkshire pudding was a slice of a small pudding and was supposed to come with stuffing inside but as far as we could tell that was missing. The opposite of ultimate. The sauce had been sat on the dish for so long it had skin on. It was also cold. We were so hungry by this point we ate it all in about 3 mouthfuls. We told the waiter how disappointed we were and one of the yorkshires was taken off the bill. The last two courses again were tasty but small. The Brie and mice pie was laughable. A slice of Brie that again was so minute I could hardly even taste it. Photos of the main and the Brie/mine pie attached. We left hungry and unsatisfied. But over £150 lighter! Will not go back and cannot recommend which is a shame as were were so excited to try.

Having had a very disappointing ending to our meal yesterday, I thought I’d check it out on here to see if we were simply a mistake, but it seems that the business needs to accept a little feedback to get back to where they started. Food - kicked off late, gf was well catered for, could have explained what we were being given a little more. Service - not great at all. Culminating in being told we had 2 minutes to vacate our table as we were literally eating the last mouthful of our dessert. Apparently the next people had arrived already and we had to leave. When queried we were advised that most people found they could eat their 6 courses in the 2hr time slot and asked if we were late! Then automatic service charge and charitable donation. I hadn’t appreciated that it was a fast food taster menu restaurant.

The whole experience was a let down. Left waiting for 20 mins before being seated. No welcome drink as advertised. Menu had been changed two days before we went. We had no knowledge of this as we only look at our emails every few days. Food bland and often cold and the revised menu was not to our tasting (Had changed not the one we booked) Restaraunt not intimate more like a canteen with tables crammed in. First server left with no explanation and we awaited 40 mins before we ate anything. Liv our second server was good. The staff had only found out that day menu was changing so spent most the night apologising to guests Head office handling of our complaint very poor too

We had visited Six by Nico Leeds before in the Summer, as the Canary Wharf restaurant used to be a firm favourite of ours when we lived in London. In the Summer, there was a terrible fruit fly problem which we were informed was caused by one of the units next door and was out of management's control. I emailed back in September to ask if the flies were still there, and the response from customer service hinted that it was still an issue, so we decided to wait until the weather was colder in the hopes that they would have gone. Upon arriving we still noticed the problem, but it is not as pronounced as in Summer. We booked onto the Sunday Roast menu for £35pp, although upon arrival we were handed a menu for the Festive Roast priced at £44pp. Most people within our vicinity complained that this change in menu was not communicated to them in advance, and there was frustration at being told to pay more for a change in menu they were not aware of. We were told we could have the Festive Roast menu for the same price as the Sunday Roast, however we were still disappointed as we didn't like the look of the menu and would not have chosen it, especially as we travelled an hour to visit. In terms of compensation for this mistake, we were given 2 mocktails and 2 of the snacks for free. The add-on course we did have to pay extra for, which was fine. It seemed to me that people only were given compensation if they specifically asked for it. The drinks were delicious! In terms of the restaurant, we did find that there seemed to be even more tables packed in than last time. I understand that having more tables means the prices aren't as high, but there wasn't much elbow room and it felt quite cramped. Our waitress advised that head office had changed the menu at short notice, and she was very frustrated as she didn't know the menu (waiting staff have to describe each course when presenting it). Sounds like there is a definite disconnect between head office and the restaurants, and most staff were exhausted at having to explain the same thing over and over again in addition to waiting on an overcrowded restaurant. For the food, I mentioned two of the courses I did not like the look of, and the waitress was really nice in helping to find a suitable alternative. I found the courses with meat in were a bit stingier than usual, which was a shame given that the Festive Menu is usually more money for the same number of courses. I don't think the quality was any better than the other menus. The Yorkshire pudding was quite soggy so could have done without that. Other things I took issue with were more to do with my tastes, so can't complain about that other than to say I wouldn't have booked the menu knowing in advance what it was. I did note though that the women sat on the table next to us, although they were quite pushy and kept saying they didn't like any of the food, weren't offered the same as me, and the waitress actually kept rolling her eyes and complaining about them really visibly. At first she pointed at them made a gagging motion and laughed with her colleague, and then as the two ladies left she said 'thank you', then waited for them to walk away further and said 'please don't come again', before laughing with a couple sat in the restaurant next to her. I did find this quite unprofessional. I understand the two women were being difficult, but at the end of the day they did not receive what they had booked, and told us they couldn't change the booking because they had a voucher that was almost expired. They also told us that a few months prior they had booked onto the Italian menu for it to be changed to the Istanbul one, but as they were given notice for that they changed it in advance. At the end of the meal, many tables around us were charged the incorrect amount and had to request revisions to their bill. I had counted up £70 + £12 for the add on course + the service charge which I believe was 12.5% . I walked over to pay as we were in a rush on the way out. I saw it was the incorrect amount, and tried to talk to the waitress about it, but she assured me it was the correct amount with the service charge on top. After leaving I tallied it up myself and can now see I was overcharged by £5. As I was leaving our waitress asked a colleague to send someone to help as she was 'drowning'. I felt really bad for her, as she was so busy and clearly wasn't supported enough. Overcharging can be an easy mistake, I just felt like they were so busy I didn't want to be a bother asking for a £5 refund, it just would have been nice for them to get it right. Overall, this is probably one of the lower standard experiences in Six by Nico, however this doesn't mean I wouldn't go again, I just hope that this review and others like it encourage head office to look at how they are communicating with restaurant staff, and to support them more in busy periods so that the dining experience is more relaxed.

BTW-they asked for further feedback in the response to the review which I took time to provide, of course I never heard back, so reducing my service score to 3 This could have been excellent, the service was great and the food interesting, however whilst the plant based menu was decent it had one massive flaw that showed carelessness in design. There was zero protein across the 6 courses. A focus on vegetables is great and all we're cooked well, but it is important that across a menu there is variety and a lack of protein is something that suggests a 'will it do' attitude to the vegetarian/plant based option. Some tofu, seitan, pulses, even some charred broccoli would have easily added this component to a dish. This small thought or addition would have elevated this menu to where it could have been. It was enjoyable, service great and decent value, but please consider the menu a little more next time.

Possibly the worst dining experience I can remember. This is effectively a canteen style production which customers seem willing to lap up because they call the food a tasting menu - this is a poor excuse for a tasting menu! On arrival we were asked to have a drink at the bar, but as soon as our allotted dining slot arrived (5 mins later) we were hurried to our table - no option to actually have ours drinks at the bar. Lighting dreadful - bright overhead lights (adding to canteen feel). Napkins were paper and every course came with new cutlery reminiscent of that you’d find in a school - heavy cheap scratched and even a few bent tines. Food was bland or poorly designed (a chicken stock drink with goats cheese?!), ingredients were cheap, nothing to savour at all. The experience was rushed as we were not even allowed to finish our drinks at our table. All of this is reflected in the admittedly cheap price of £44 but you really do get what you pay for. Land of Oz? More like Emperors new clothes.

Went for the Sunday Lunch Experience. The two stars is earned almost entirely by the waitress. The food was okay, only one meal was hot. Table was next to the kitchen, constant clattering. One female chef drinking lucozade with headphones on, another female chef with blue hair throwing food at her male colleague who was the only one making any kind of effort in the kitchen. No hats, aprons or hairnets used by the same female individual. Then to top it off a bin was dragged through the dining area leaving a lovely lingering smell. Would not recommend, especially at £87.95 for 2 lots of 6 small plates and 2 diet cokes.

Tonight was a bit of a mixed bag for us. Whilst the majority is positive, there were some factors that left us underwhelmed. We came for the 'Sunday Lunch '. The servers were mostly incredible! Very nice, welcoming, and enthusiastic. There was just one that let them down as he seemed to be uninterested in providing an experience. 4 out of six dishes were enjoyed by the both of us with mixed feelings on one and a but of a let down for one too.The cauliflower cheese dish was on of the favourites. Really flavoursome and just a bowl of beautiful beautiful food. My partner found the sauce for the yorkshire pudding a bit too rich for her liking, but I thought it was a thing of beauty. Personal preference! I felt a bit underwhelmed by the chicken, I felt it was just a bit bland, however, the emulsion on the plate was incredible. (The chef was even happy for me to speak to him about what this was, which was nice) We were both very very let down by rhe roast potato course. It, like most of the menu, looked nothing like it has been advertised, and was miniscule. The taste was pleasant but we just felt a bit deflated by this course. THE ETON MESS ... that is something else! Absolutely incredible. Easily THE best dessert either of us have ever had. Simply incredible! All in all, we had a lovely evening. 95% was just perfect. Would recommend, we hope to be enticed by future menus.

First time trying restaurant such as this. Myself and my partner booked on to the Tokyo experience. Atmosphere was nice and relaxed even though it was busy. The dishes were extremely hit and miss. The sea bass ramen, tonkotsu and dessert were definitely the best plates. Everything else was average but the okonomiyaki was unpleasant. A cheesecake consistency and missed out on the various textures that okonomiyaki usually has. Unfortunately I found a ginormous hair in my gyoza, which the staff were very apologetic for and served me a fresh plate within minutes, but it left a bit of an ick after that. The staff were friendly but weren't asked if we wanted any more drinks during our dining experience. All in all the experience felt a little flat and I felt the chefs had a limited experience of what Japanese food really encapsulates. A mediocre meal, hair(!) in one dish and a 12.5% service charge adding to a bill of £155 for two people means we're unlikely to visit again.

My boyfriend and I attended the Tokyo menu, which was tasty but wasn't as good as other established Japanese restaurants I've tried in Leeds. However, it was really tasty and there was lots of flavour. What let it down was our waiter, who walked away from our conversation twice, whilst we were mid conversation. When going to these budget fine dining meals, you go for the experience, which was lackluster. However, this wouldn't persuade me from going again, but I would slightly lower my expectations.

Tried this place after seeing the Tokyo menu advertised. The food was amazing but this is unfortunately let down by the tables being virtually ontop of eachother, the intention is clearly to squeeze as many people in on the chaotic conveyorbelt like service. A more relaxed environment/service would push this rating up.

My first time at Six by Nico for their Tokyo menu. We really enjoyed our meal! Tasty food and lovely service. Really enjoyed the inventive vegetarian options. We came on a deal with six courses and an aperitif for £35 which was excellent value. Will definitely be back!

The themed changing menu is creative and imaginative. As a result we've returned on different occasions. The set menu is affordable compared to similar quality dining expriences. We've always found the service and staff friendly and the atmosphere great.

I tried the six-course Tokyo tasting menu. Chicken Tangyang is very crispy and delicious. However, I would prefer to use chicken thighs that are not minced, as the taste will be better. The tempura is perfectly seasoned and crispy. Impeccable, this dish is good. Okonomiyaki is just average. Japanese people don’t add kimchi to Okonomiyaki, but they need to put bonito flakes on top. Apart from that, the overall texture and presentation are both good. There is something strange about this dish called "Ramen". The name "ramen" usually refers to a bowl of noodle soup, but this version has just soup, no noodles, and just the usual ingredients of ramen. The taste is so unique and creative, but the name doesn't quite match the actual dish. The fried pork chop tastes good, and all the sauces and purees go well together, bringing out the taste of the pork. The dessert is the best one in my opinion. The white chocolate has a smooth texture, not too sweet, and looks beautiful. Every material complements each other well. But my only dissatisfaction is that the matcha cake is a bit dry and the matcha flavor is not strong enough. The service is first-class, each dish is explained in detail, the staff is so attentive, and the 12.5% service charge is completely worth it. I would consider coming back, but maybe try a more European menu next time.

Love Six by Nico, but unfortunately, not up to their usual standard on this visit. Mid way through the evening, we were forgotten about and had to ask for service. The next course was delivered straight away, luke warm! We received a mild apology and no usual service charge on the bill. I'm afraid it spoilt what was otherwise a good night out and meal.

Lovely concept of the tasting plates, delicious food. Thought it wouldn't be filling enough but actually was about right. Good value for money, we didn't do wine pairing due to driving, but still enjoyed ourselves and looking forward to returning for a different menu!

Staff and service was great. Had the tasting menu without wine pairing. Due to the (seasonal etc) changing menu we were seriously let down. Unfortunately when we visited it was the ‘indulgence’ menu. Not up our street at all. Everything was deep fried American dinner style food served in a contemporary small dish fashion. All tasted the same and was way too much and heavy. Pictures and literature did not collate.

We visited on a Sunday afternoon and had the tasting menu with wine pairing, we also had an aperitif , with a couple of added suggestions with the tasting menu. We were seated straightaway and the host was knowledgeable about the menu. Most of the food was excellent , one course was a bit dry. The wine went well with the food however we were rushed between courses, we hadn’t finished drinking the wine before the next course and new wine was being delivered . It would be fine timing for food alone but would put us off getting wine pairing again, which is a shame. The atmosphere was good and enjoyed the music. Will try another tasting menu in future but not with wine pairing.

We loved the Amalfi Coast menu at Six by Nico. Every course was delicious! Meals were presented nicely but I would say they tasted better than they looked. The pork dish and the dessert were probably my favourites. Everything paired well together. We also had the wine pairing which was served with courses 2-6. The wine complemented the food really well. Service was very good and quick. The servers were very attentive and informative about the food and wine. We ordered some extras such as arancini and prawns. These were nice add-ons and helped us feel full and satisfied when leaving. Overall it was a fabulous experience and I can't wait to try another menu soon.

I guess, you get what you pay for and £39 for a tasting menu is cheap! Had the Amalfi menu, some courses were very good, like the mushrooms with cheese foam and the lemon tart dessert. However the fish was quite poor, we actually sent it back as it was so over cooked and cold. The second plate was much better but desperately needed more seasoning. The other courses were average and only one course came out at the right temperature, everything that should have been hot was only luke warm. It was very loud, even for lunch. Wine list is very boring, and the pairings not worthwhile imo. But the worst part of the meal was being rushed to finish in 2 hours, the bill was plonked on the table with a 13% service charge just added - it doesn’t state the % either. I had to work that out. I’m afraid the experience didn’t warrant such a tip, but the waiter had presumptively assumed I would just pay it and had to return to the till to change the card machine. Left a sour taste and not somewhere I will return to

Decided to try 'Trust' at Six by Nico as a date night meal and was not disappointed. Once seated Grace welcomed us and talked through the process without of course telling us what the menu was. We enjoyed guessing each course based on taste and look, only criticism is hearing other tables who were ahead on courses discussing what the food was but can't be helped. Grace checked in after every course to discuss what we thought of both the wine paring and the course. She was a very good host. We will be back once again soon.

Had read so much about this place so decided as a foodie to book for my birthday. The best thing about this place is the staff then it goes downhill . The food at best was average very formulated and luke warm . We had to send the spaghetti course back as it was cold . We were told that it’s not supposed to be very warm !! You can see the chefs preparing the courses in vast numbers ,like a production line ,so therefore the quality isn’t great . The focaccia as an extra was nice to start but the 3 battered(tempura) prawns as an extra course at £9 is quite frankly a rip off . There were 4 of us and with 2 bottles of wine and the bill came in at £350 ! To summarise ;expensive & underwhelming

Came with a group of friends for the Amalfi coast menu. A couple of dietary preferences on one of the course which we’d forgotten to communicate beforehand but the staff were nothing but accommodating in finding an alternative to enable us to still enjoy the dish. Visited last night for the Amalfi Coast tasting menu with matching wines. The atmosphere inside is really nice, music isn't too loud and decor is modern and fresh. Our waiter Will was fab, he was very knowledgeable about the wines and food and his customer service was great. The food itself was great, however we ordered the optional crispy prawns and noticed they came without the additional dressings which was a shame. The only downside to our experience with the tasting menu is that we felt quite rushed between courses. As we were finishing off wines for previous courses, the next wine and course was placed in front of us. It just made our experience less enjoyable. I would definitely visit again to experience another tasting menu.

Sorry to say as the staff were very friendly but we were really disappointed. This was a special meal as a wedding gift to my husband and I’d mentioned in special requests. We were put in a tight table under a very loud speaker with flies constantly around the table. The courses were really underwhelming, nothing stood out unfortunately. I recall it as lemon froth, cheesy froth, mini pork belly. At almost £200 I was kicking myself that I didn’t opt for elsewhere, the restaurant was really busy and cocktails not great. The staff were enthusiastic but the constant checks about what we thought of the courses became irritating, less is more. Finally, a ‘congratulations’ in chocolate icing on a dessert we’d already paid for was a bit of a disappointment- nothing expected but that just seemed a rushed gesture.

What a fabulous all round evening we had! If you want a memorable experience I recommend that you give this place a try.. I'm not normally a fan of something quite this fancy, but if you want a night out you won't forget in a hurry: I'd say give it a go. The service right through from the helpful lady on the front desk to our waiter Will was really friendly and efficient, and they made us feel "special" . The food was well presented and the courses different enough to keep you interested throughout your visit. The food was really tasty and although it's a little bit pricey it's great value when you compare it to a normal evening out as it's sufficiently different to make the extra cost worth it. The wine pairing seemed to work as it completed the food and all the patter about the wine was interesting and delivered with enthusiasm. How true all that is I don't know, but it was fun to listen to. One of us made the comment: "I feel like we're in a movie" and I guess that sums up why I'd go again.

I’m a massive fan of six by Nico and try to sample the different menus however we were really disappointed with the Mexican menu. It was by far our least favourite. The food flavouring was bland and lacking and the service was not as good as previously experienced. I have been a loyal customer of Six By Nico, visiting the restaurant every month since they opened. Unfortunately, my recent experience has been extremely disappointing. I booked a reservation well in advance for a specific menu, and received confirmation at the time of booking. However, I was later informed by Neal, the customer relations manager, via email that the menu we booked for was no longer available on that day. This was despite having received prior confirmation. It's been four days since I contacted the restaurant to reschedule our booking, and I am still waiting for a response. This lack of communication is unacceptable, especially considering the high regard I previously held for this establishment. To add to the frustration, I was unable to reach anyone over the phone and had to physically visit the restaurant to change the reservation. This inconvenience could have been avoided with better customer service and communication. I hope Six By Nico addresses these issues promptly, as this experience has greatly tarnished my view of a restaurant I once loved.

We love Six By Nico! The food is fantastic, the service has always been great (Will in particular was incredibly friendly and helpful) and it’s great value for money. A six course tasting menu plus wine pairing is about £70 pp. I would recommend the optional extra course which is another £8-9 if you’re hungry as the portions aren’t massive. Tried the Mexican vegetarian tasting menu and it was very meh and underwhelming. I’m not sure what part was Mexican inspired, really. All very flourished and showy, probably only 3/6 of the dishes were actually interesting. Incredibly overpriced for what it is IMO, at least the dishes sound “lovely”, not sure I would personally go back again but might be more suited to other palettes.

I have been eating out pretty extensively since 2008 in high end restaurants around the world. I've been to 3 star restaurants from Sao Paulo to Tokyo and I've been to tons of starred restaurants in the UK. My opinion of six by Nico is that I've had worse meals in 1 Michelin star restaurants in the UK for double the price. Really for the money you pay you will not find better dining experience. Atmosphere is great, relaxed and fun with brilliantly helpful and happy waiting staff. Wine pairing is excellent as are the menu designers. Tasty food with good presentation. Seating is tight it is fairly noisy on a weekend at least. Awkward conversation was required to remove unwanted corporation tax deductible donations from bill which spoiled the meal for me. I don't want to learn that I've donated on the company's behalf for the first when I get the bill! The company should donate from their profits rather than rely on tacking extras to my bill with the hope that it's too much of a faff to remove it. I want to be looked after when I go out for a fancy meal not taken advantage of.

I have been 3 times now so I feel like can finally give an good, accurate review. The food can be great and it can be pretty average. It depends on the menu and the course. On average I would describe it as good. You get an ok amount but if you're really hungry your unlikely to be satisfied. The service is absolutely terrible. Each time I have been despite booking we have still had to wait 30 minutes for a table. The food takes absolutely ages to come. We are looking at 30/45 minutes to the first course arriving. That's over an hour to get sat down and eating in a restaurant that has an entirely set menu. Drink service is even worse. You're going to be sat a long time without a drink. In terms of value, food plus drinks is likely to be closed to £100 per person. It's to much for what it is. Finally there are too many tables in the space. The result being you are set very close to people who are not in your party. Dinner with strangers basically. I gave this place a chance and it let me down. I think I would recommend this place if you haven't been, the concept is interesting. However I would go expecting too much.

This is my fifth time coming to six by Nico and I will say the food is absolutely incredible. I can honestly say I’ve had some of the best food I’ve ever had from here. The one big let down on this occasion was the service. We had to wait a while for anyone to come to us to take our drinks order. We waited 45 minutes for our drinks to arrive and had to ask twice for the order. We also ordered the snacks and they arrived after our first course. In addition our plates weren’t cleared for a very long time and they were being cleared as our next courses arrived on several occasions. We raised this concern to the host who I will say was absolutely fantastic! The waiting staff also didn’t explain the food that we were eating, and having come here several times, we want to know as it’s part of the six by Nico experience. Cutlery was also not cleared and we were left with no cutlery on some courses. While the host was brilliant with our concerns, we were let down that the manager didn’t come and speak to us. This is not a knock on the experience as a whole, as stated before we have come to six by Nico several times and it is mine and my partners favourite place to eat as the food has always been incredible, it’s just a shame that on this occasion the service didn’t match up to the standard of the food.

It's not a bad place, the beer is fine and as cheap or expensive as you'd expect in 2024. So, basically, too expensive. :) The food - hit and miss really. The menu is now quite limited, portions are fairly small, and the quality isn't good - the food is expensive compared to how it used to be. The breakfast is the exception as it's still value and decent quality. Just make sure they bring all your order as about 50% of the time here they forget something. It's fine, you get it corrected but be aware.

Overall really poor experience. Food was average at best. Got 3 different types of steak and all came cooked the wrong temperature. It was a birthday occasion but they failed to bring any surprise as restaurants usually would and still charged me for it. The bill took ages to come and then the server instead of brining the card machine head away to serve another table making us wait to a point I had to walk to the desk to pay. Don’t get fooled by the looks of this restaurant. Paid £304 for 5 meals and 2 starters and it was totally waste of money and calories. AVOID AT ALL COST. MCDONALD’S IS ACROSS RHW ROAD.
