Visited with my partner. We travelled from hull.. food was bang on.. will be going again

Pleasantly surprised at the changes that had been made since our last visit some years ago. At that time, neither the surroundings, ambience or food was pleasant. This time, as has been said,"pleasantly surprised". We will most definitely be returning.

Been here a number of times, service good and Carvery always delicious 😋. A bit disappointed this last visit as web said steak and kidney pie was on menu but when we ordered we were told they didn't have any. Steak and ale was a good substitute. We will be back for more Carvery.

Very cozy place, very good food, fresh and well seasoned, especially pork carvery. You can also drink a beer and watch the match on the big screen. I highly recommend it.

do you train your staff in how to answer the phone ? been trying from opening time till 11:15 on the 5/5/25 absolutely ridiculous

Outstanding carvery, the best I've had in ages. Amazing fluffy yorkies, onion gravy, crispy potatoes, crispy parsnips wow 👌 nice pigs in blankets too! Well done chefs all 3 meats were lovely and tender 👏

Typical Greene King Pub, I had the steak and ale pie which was very tasty, my fiancé had the chicken skewers which again were ok. But once again Greene King you serve up decent food at great value for money prices, but the drinks are off the scale expensive! £4.50 for a coke is just ridiculous!!

Popped in for a carvery after hearing great things about this place! Fully recommend 👌 the food was piping hot with a great service, the service was top draw and the guy in the carvery deck was full of banter. Great atmosphere throughout and high cleaning standards. Fully recommend and a will be visiting again 😀

Lovely time at the wacky warehouse on Easter Sunday. Jess and Chloe were really welcoming and helpful and nice to my little girl :)

Still quite upset after our visit this weekend so wanted to write this review to warn others this is not the sort of place you should go if you need to be accommodated for mobility. We experienced rude staff who made me feel like a burden for refusing a bar stool seat table due to being 8 months pregnant. It would have been an absolute charade trying to get up on to such a high seat so we asked if there were any other tables. We were told no and the hostess walked back to her stand straight after leaving us in the middle of the restaurant to figure the situation out alone. We considered leaving entirely as I would have been in pain trying to get up onto the seats but it was also really overwhelming to be left like that and embarrassed by the staff so we stayed for a moment while I tried to not get upset. Eventually after a wait another table became free but the hostess seemed irritated the entire time with us which really soured the Easter carvery we'd been looking forward to. Nobody checked on us throughout the meal which just added to feeling like a burden in the place. This was our second visit to the pub and both times we have experienced rude staff on the door so I think it'll be the last as I hate being made to feel so unwelcome. Food average after all that too.

First time visiting Sir Jack as was just driving past, so glad we took the chance to come in & have some food plus the wacky warehouse for the kids, was welcomed by Phoebe who was very helpful & pleasant. Then Leo took over & again was very pleasant & welcoming :) Will definitely be returning!

Went in for lunch with my brother, a young lady on the bar, who served us, named Sophie, was friendly, polite and welcoming, food was lovely and served promptly, we had the coffee and cake 4.99 deal for afters, I had the shortbread (a great recommendation by Sophie), the restaurant was relaxing and welcoming, and definitely family friendly. We shall be visiting again Thank you.

Barman was miserable, watched us wander round looking for a table when all of them were reserved, until I asked and he informed me we can sit anywhere as long as we're gone by 11.30, couldn't order on app and food took 45 mins to come out , won't be returning and wouldn't recommend for breakfast

Food is average, problem was staff. Asked numerous times to move seats as was unable to sit on a bench chair with physical issues, nobody moved up so had to move onto a bar stool chair which caused me alot of pain and was unable to sit with my family for a meal so I wouldn't recommend people with disabilities to go here, you get ignored. Atmosphere people around us where fine football was on and it was pretty calm.

Went here last night after a long day. Walked in and got a table pretty much straight away. We used the Green King app and ordered 2 drinks , the drinks didn’t arrive and 15 mins later we saw them sat in the bar. 10 mins later drinks still sat there , so we ended up grabbing them ourselves . We ordered 2 ultimate mixed grills with rare steak doubled up, now due to a pub meal we didn’t expect Gaucho or traditional steak house style …… however this is when the disaster happened. We were served with what I could say was a triple Cooked steak , it was that hard it made a German porn star jealous! And more well done than Bonnie Blue in one of her videos ….there wasn’t any flavour , it was possibly the worst so called Mixed grill I have ever tasted …. The quality of the sausage was something else …. The egg was actually decent , it was edible and runny …… I’m sat here just had a stunning viatemese meal For cheaper than this realising I’m more ripped off than a Man Utd season ticket holder ……

Lovely family pub, catering for all. Large space to fit the family seated together when meeting up for a meal. The carvery is delicious and the children's menu has a variety of meals and a substantial amount is given to suit older children. I would recommend to all.

Ordered the katsu curry and got the beef pie, and when i got it tasted like the meat mangers done something to it, they redeemed them selfs with a lovely desert. Overall the meat manager done an awful job preparing my meat, I could have done better. The meat was quite something special, it came with a special sauce which tasted rather exotic. In an attempt to act tuff the meat manager failed to present thy self as a non-chalant individual which was not to my liking.

I got the beef burger and it was pish. I don’t think I can put it any simpler, the chef did not excel in this dish. To make up for it I got a free meal that had accidentally been made. Then had the brownie to top it off and I did not do that it did not add to my enjoyment of this dining. Don’t reccomend if you are looking for a meal on a budget.

Food was mediocre at best, however, the meat station on the other hand... wow! The service was great, the meat manager was something else providing an excellent experience. Despite the food not being too great the service and atmosphere was top notch! I left the establishment feel like the meat had managed appropriately . Will be returning for sure. Thank you all for providing such a great night! ❤️

As a regular visitor to Sir Jacks, I have no hesitation in giving a “5 star “ review. All aspects of the business, from a customer pespective are excellent. Great staff team, always professional and providing excellent service in all areas. Great for families, children - something for everyone. Always clean, tidy and professionally presented business.

I attend the Wacky Warehouse on a regular basis and would like to thank Carrie Ann and Jess for all the effort they put in to keep the environment safe and clean and for the activities they provide

Had my birthday meal here today, my steak was cooked to perfection and my children cleared their plates. The service was amazing and there was a lovely atmosphere, it was very busy in the restaurant but that didn’t hinder the brilliant service. My last visit with the previous management was nothing like this, I’ll definitely be back soon.

lovely veg on the carvery meat was not nice beef very dry and crispy around the edges. meat wasn’t eaten i complained staff member just said sorry no offer of replacement.

Good place for a hearty meal/ carvery

Met up with friends for Sunday carvery after booking on line the day before. Swiftly shown to our table by friendly staff. Carvery was delicious with a wide selection of vegetables & everything was piping hot. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

We had a coach of 40+, everyone’s food was amazing, staff service could not have been better, and the experience was second to none. Booked back in for 6 weeks time and can’t wait!!!

Came up for the carvery. Thought I would try the vegetarian option for a change. That pie was massive !!!! Lovely food. Friendly staff. Warm and cosy on a cold wet day. Nice to see a friendly face that used to work at the Storyteller. Will definitely come again.

Came for tea today and really enjoyed it. The food was perfect, kids ate all their meals which makes a change! Adults all had carvery and it was lovely, cooked to perfection and nice and hot. We were really well looked after by Faye, James and the team. Will definitely be back again!

Taylor was amazing with the service with our food!!! Very polite lady also nick behind the bar was very helpful choosing the perfect gin to go with my tonic he also recommended a certain red wine to go with my rump steak

80th birthday for my mum. Had a nice Sunday afternoon. Great service. Food was good and arrived in good time and was hot. The place was full and very busy so we were pleased with the prompt service. The choice of menu is ok for a pub chain but a lot of dishes came with sweet chilli or BBQ sauce. Only 1 choice of salad dish which was slightly disappointing. Be good if more fish choices were available. All in all very satisfied. Thank you guys!

Now this is a tough review based on two visits. First off the pub is lovely. Clean and inviting with friendly staff. On the first visit we had a carvery which was without doubt the BEST carvery I've ever had. Hot and fresh and the beef literally melted in the mouth. Visit two we popped in for breakfast and my god it was vile! Tough sausages clearly reheated from the day before. Toast black on one side and white on the other. Bacon as tough as leather. On balance the carvery was worthy of 5 stars but one deducted for the awful breakfast. Sort that and this is one of the best eateries around

Waited 10 minutes for a table even though I booked online, waited over an hour for drinks even when paid for with the meal if we didn't ask we wouldn't have got our drinks even when paid for. Felt sorry for the women on reception in wacky warehouse as she was on her own witch she could have done with extra staff. We ordered 2 children's deserts one came the other one didn't so we had to ask again witch came in the end. Please advise when visiting use booking app online to avoid disappointment.

This place has massively improved. Really good mixed grill, always like Green King IPA, and nice service.

First time for carvery Saturday tea time yesterday. Although busy at bar staff were very polite and helpful. Especially the lady who helped me with an app I wanted to use for a discount so patient. Couldnt fault the service. Food excellent and staff efficient. We would certainly go again. Thank you for a lovely meal and makes a change didnt cost the earth but quality served.

Great place to go for food or drink, the atmosphere is friendly and warming. Bar staff and management are incredibly nice and accommodating. Never had any issues in this place and lastly the carvery is amazing! Faye the manager is so friendly and pleasant to speak to and the rest of the staff are just as nice! Also since the renovation the place has a fresh look and is a lovely place to sit in

I would leave 1 star if could. The fact I ordered a chicken meal,for my son and the kitchen had absolutely burnt it and put it upside down so we couldn’t see it. It’s disgusting. I always say - if you wouldn’t eat it yourself don’t serve it to anyone else.

Love eating here as I love their carvery because I cant have typical pub food chips etc. My only complaint is the dessert menu should have something like profiteroles

Took forty minutes for two breakfasts to arrive, and it was cold. Had coffee and one of the cups had a chip in it. Sorry green king but did expect better .

Poor staff involved with children .. need to teach them to interact...poor children's food as well .past ok but cold chips overcooked veg ..

Great good food no issues good value for money

Booked a table a week in advance for me & my 3 daughters, no table service took ages to get a drink at the bar. Waited 40 minutes for 2 burgers which were the wrong ones then 15 mins later we were approached by staff telling us we had got the wrong meals (rudely like it was our fault) 5 mins later our other 2 meals arrived and it was now 2pm. My daughter's didn't eat their burgers because they were someone else's. Used this place a few times in the past but won't be going again as it has gone downhill and is very poorly managed. Completely ruined a family meetup for Xmas.

All the team in the Wackey warehouse are fantastic, especially Jess, they can’t do enough for you. Jess was lovely with my toddler, and even gave her an extra sticker and balloon. My daughter loves it there and we will continue to buy the monthly passes which are a bargin.

Decent pub grub with good choice of beers. Nice and clean place with friendly staff. Stopped on the way up north and also on the way back. Reasonable prices.

After the refitting of Sir Jack, it's still the same amazing pub it was. it just looks even better now. The outside area is perfect for the summer months. Big carpark with plenty disabled parking. It gets busy at weekends, so book unless you don't mind waiting. Amazing carvery 5 stars all the way.

Absolutely love this place - been a couple of times. Massive shout out to Carrie-Ann, who gave us the warmest welcome, and Jess, who, after telling us they were fully booked in the indoor play section, came to find us in the restaurant as they’d had a cancellation. Great service by these two, kids loved it.

Friendly staff and well priced, always a nice place for a treat

it was fine, not great but okay. I ordered a starter the chicken strips which only had about 20% covered in sauce - and the steak - I did order them as starter and main, but they came out together. When you young lady came out to check and asked if all was okay, I said its not great - she said okay and walked off.

Go every Sunday and a great carvery and those Yorkshire puddings need it's own plate

Called in recently since the refurb and I must say it does look nice, carvery has got a lot better a lot better to what it used to be great staff but hats off the the big guy (don’t know his name) behind the carvery he went the extra mile he was very polite, friendly and chatty to us and that really made our visit more comfortable, nothing was a problem for him there isn’t many places that do that so hats off to the chap Thankyou, we will hopefully see him again x
