Simply Fish And Chips in Belfast

I ate in. A good portion of cod and chips. Served by friendly, helpful staff. The food was hot and tasty. Lovely fish. Not a bone in sight. Coated in crispy, light batter. Nice thick cut / well cooked chips. And for a very reasonable price for good quality! Enter with confidence that you’ll leave well satisfied.

I had been there two weeks ago. Had the lunch deal of burger and chips. The burger was cold and half off the chips were crisps not chips. This week I went again. We had some fish and chips which were ok but again only slightly warm. The batter on the fish was undercooked. My daughter had chips only, to dip into curry sauce. This time about one third off the basket was chips the rest was crispy bits. It was appalling. I would have sent them back but didn’t want to upset my daughter. I would not recommend this place to eat in.

Went here for a bit of lunch and it was the best fish supper I have had in a long time at a great price would Defo recommend.

Don’t get me wrong absolutely amazing food however missed something on my order not a big deal but worth noticed

We visited Simply Fish and Chips last week with a party of 59 School Children, split over two sittings. Even with short notice (late the previous evening) they accommodate the group. The food was excellent and the staff were exceptional, a special thank you to Warren who just took it in his stride when I called to enquire and said no problem we can do that. Thank you for looking after the group. We'll worth a visit

Horrible attitude when questioned about cold hard food, chips etc. Wouldn't give this food to a starving dog never mind a human . You could get quality restaurant food for less and nicer staff.

The wait was short for an excellent piece of Cod that was well battered and skinless. The chips were rather generous and made the fish seem a little small by comparison. The tables and chairs were a bit scruffy and there was a strange background from a central speaker in the ceiling. There was a TV on the wall, but it was not on.

I visited this place on Friday evening before I got my boat to liverpool. I was engrossed my audio book and quite tired so I actually hadn’t realised I was waiting for long time for the food to arrive at the table (was sitting in). A staff member approached me and said requested to know what I was waiting for, something had gone wrong with my order clearly and even I had forgot. However the guy doing the cooking came over apologised and dropped a couple of items my way for the wait, which was great so service wise they were actually really good. The fish and chips, to be frank was some of the best I have had. I mean this was really really good. I am in belfast typically once a month and on my next visit I will definitely go back.

Cheesy chip, chicken burger with chips (half a normal chip) and two cokes £19!!!! Didnt notice till later .. How is that £19?

At around 3:45 this afternoon, I went into this fish & chip shop(my second ever visit). Had planned to buy a fish supper. I was the only customer in the shop at this time. I had noticed one female employee outside smoking, and there was one male staff member behind the counter(biggish lad, tanned skin, bald) who seemed fixated on his mobile phone. After being stood there for almost a minute without so much as an acknowledgement from him, I purposely did a small cough, assuming this might raise his attention? Sadly it didn't - and even with the internal access door through to the market slamming in the wind..our friend's concentration on his phone did not waver. So after being ignored for almost 2 minutes, I assumed my business was not required from this establishment, so exited. After leaving I politely mentioned my dissatisfaction to the middle aged female who was still outside smoking, but sadly her attitude left a lot to be desired..she simply couldn't care less!! My previous visit to this same place around a month previous, I'd found the food & prices good, but the staff noticeably mediocre..now it all makes sense.🤷 I have rated here as 2/5, only because during my initial visit, I was happy enough with the said food & price.. otherwise it would have been a very poor 1/5 ! MR BOSS MAN - TIME TO CHECK THE OL' CCTV, & GET THE WOODEN SPOON OUT👍

Sat in for an evening Cod and chips. Friendly staff, really good food. Order, sit down and they plate up and bring it over to you.

Situated in the market, but separate from it as it is open all day, it offers some seats in the back if you have a bit more time for your lunch. On the menu, everything a chippy can offer, with a mix of fish, meat and all the extras. Big portion and lots of oil, so I would suggest not to order too much and instead try a bit of everything. Good quality ingredients and the fish is clearly very fresh. Prices are average for the area and what is offered

I am absolutely blown away with the care and consideration that was shown to my family. We sat outside the shop to which when the food was ready the server came out to ask if we wanted salt or vinegar etc... then brought the food out to us observing social distancing. The food was outstanding, we all had something different, I had cod bites and chips which was much bigger than I imagined with five strips of battered cod. The batter was especially good. My mum had chicken goujons which were battered and the chicken was juicy and succulent. My sister and dad had battered sausage and chips which were just as good. But the show stopper was the incredible chips which had the perfect blend of chunky potato ones and small crispy ones, they were not over oily and were salted to perfection. Thank you for a great experience

We ordered 4 chicken bacon cheese burgers but we got beef burgers..... we ate them because the lads need the feed before the sesh but it wasn't what we ordered. Oh wells.... such a shame

As somebody who loves, and recommends many times, Simply Fish at St Georges Market, today I received possibly the worst takeout of my life! Despite the food taking 1 hour and 20 minutes to arrive, 20 minutes later than expected, when I received the food it was of a very poor quality! The chips were cold, actually cold, the curry sauce tasted of mustard and the skin on the burger was so tough! And also, my request of only putting lettuce, mayo and cheese on my burger was not done. I can normally eat food regardless of how bad it was, but today I just couldn't. I am really disappointed in the service today at Simply Fish & Chips St George's Market!

Absolutely terrible. Done with this place. Order was 30 minutes late AFTER they added time to delivery. Arrived cold. Sauce was watery. May as well have thrown my money in the bin because that's where the food went.

Very disappointed in the service I received tonight. Placed a rather big order for collection (came to £25), collection time was good so can't fault that. However, the food was not up to the usual standard as I would visit this chip shop sometimes as it is local to work. My main complaint is that when I checked the order when I got home we were given fish and and a handful of chips instead of a plain portion of chips and also a tub of gravy instead of pepper sauce. As I don't eat fish and had just wanted a plain chip, I called and spoke to a woman on the phone to inform her that part of the order was wrong. After some time of deliberating she finally accepted that it was wrong and apologised and asked if I would go back to collect the chip. As I am over a mile and a half away and the ravenhill road was blocked off and a long diversion was in place, I explained that the rest of the food would be cold by the time I picked it up and got back and asked if it could be delivered. The lady then asked where I lived and said "Oh he's (delivery driver) just away there and he has two more orders to do after so... Do you really need it tonight love? I can give you it tomorrow if you want to come collect it." I appreciate she was trying to do something to fix the issue and I wouldn't normally be one to complain but I felt like this was a bit rude as I wouldn't have ordered it tonight if I didn't want it tonight and felt that something more could've been done. As that was the only thing I was for eating and everything else was for other people, I didn't get my take away after all.

I have never felt so insulted in all of my life so first of all have to meet delivery man round the corner from my apartment block no point paying for delivery as they are not even one mile away but I could get over that one of the items I ordered was a taco dog guess what they give me a chip butty with mince no sausage the chips yuck food was cold I have never gave a bad receive but they deserve this. Also tryed to get in contact with just eat on chat they ended chat and now for some reason I can't get on to it this is a joke

When they say 'sloppy' Joe they mean it, most messy and BEST burger I have ever had. Will definitely be ordering one of those again! Delivery was 20 minutes early also. Thanks

Absolutely disgusting. I ordered a peppered chip with cheese and after what seemed to be hours, it arrived. It came a gravy cheesy chip which had obviously been made hours ago and was just reheated as my chips where dryer than the sahara desert. Never again will I order from here and I will be letting everyone know also. Not on at all.

First time you have been late in delivering. The driver actually had to ring me for directions...!!! The quality was not upto your usual high standards, the fish chips were over cooked. But it has not put me off in the slightest and will continue to use you in the future.

A few times i have ordered and they always forget to send something tonight it was a sweet curry chip i didnt ring to complain as the last time i did the person i spoke to wasnt very pleasant took an hour and a half for delivery got a cheeseburger the lettuce was brown and like mush wont be ordering again

Having a wee break away and couldn't be bothered leaving hotel tonight, ordered food from here, was fanatastic, food was still piping hot on arrival. Very happy.

The sweet curry is delicious. Quick delivery and high quality of food, I would recommend this if you want a good chippy.

to be fair, when you get food from here in store, its great, but i have never seen such a difference in anything when delivered EVER. literally just a box of greasy staleness. don't even get me started on the amount times things have went wrong, ordered drinks and after a 'delivery error' they finally came after an hour and a half, i almost choked without anything to wash my grease down. i like this place to sit in or take away but i would not and i repeat WOULD NOT, get a delivery from here unless they have the ambulance arrive before you have a medical emergency or in my case an ambulance before you get your bottle of coke.

Absoulty devasted that i didnt find out about this sooner... Got an absoulte feast for 20quid!!! Will defo be ordering again when we stay at the Premier Inn-Titanic Quarter.... Please dont EVER change :) L&S Xx
