Simply the best bakers in ST Albans.

I just collected my too good to go, I paid 4 pounds for a hard uncut loaf, a baguette, bagels and a small piece of Victoria cake? What a scam. Wasted our money and time!

Taste EVERYTHING, nothing is bad there.

I came here at lunchtime, and it was very busy, I couldn't help to notice how good the staff were,very friendly and helpful

Excellent bacon rolls, well worth a visit. Bacon and sausage roll with a coffee was also excellent. Thank you also to the very happy and cheerful staff.

Ordered from Simmons on delivery orders was wrong and then tried ordering again via delivery and refused to do order

6 staff people charges 6 different prices for a small egg crusty roll..No one responses properly when i ask everytime. !!!!Check before you pay!!!!

Can't say much as it's not my usual. Just visiting the area. Everything looked good.

Ordered a jacket potato with tuna mayo. Potato was served cold and was very small with only a tablespoons worth of filling. Had to request some dressing for the dry salad but wasn't offered any sachets/bottles. The server had to take my food away to add a dollop of mayo. Not worth a fiver let alone the £7 it cost. Total rip off. Much better service and portions (properly heated) at Molen's down the road which was closed otherwise I'd have gone there instead. Never again! Very disappointing experience.

A fabulous bakery. Great bread and lovely staff who could ask for more? I never have to wait long to be served. Highly recommended.

About the only place left where you can get a dandwich made to order. Good range of fillings.

Not impressed. Staff spend ages talking endlessly to customers. The queues just take forever even with a handful of customers. Just pathetic

Retraining for hygiene please. Don't change gloves. Touching face then handling goods without tongs or changing gloves. Be careful of prices. Unless you check they charge you for eating in instead of take away.

Got a jacket potato filled with all sorts and loved it. Definitely going again for lunch. Reasonably priced too.

The products are good however not amazing. It felt good to take away something thinking I've been to St Albans town.

What a rip off. Nearly £6 pound for the next to no ingredients. Two measly bits of ham, and £1.50 extra for a slice of cheese. T0 top.it off the roll was nothing special. What a waste of money.

The best bakery round this parts. For better or worse, the sausage rolls have become a staple of our diet.

The cakes and savouries are usually great and were fine today. Service could have been better, and I could have been better, left my loyalty card with them and they did not n otice and I have to say a scone without butter is just a tad too dry.

I miss having a Simmons bakery so was pleased to visit St Albans to enjoy a beautiful Brie and tomato croissant and a cup of tea! I also managed to get a too good to go bag on another occasion with beautiful produce in there, staff were very friendly and polite and it was also very clean.

My partner enjoyed her takeaway lunch from here yesterday and really wanted to pop back again. So we both had a take away lunch today, which was very nice. There was a very good selection of fillings, pastries and cakes.

Just wanted to thank again the dark haired girl who served us today, she was really nice and helpful.

Really need to sort the speed in which they serve. Most people who go to sandwich bars are grabbing lunch or breakfast before work. The other day I stood in the shop for 10 mins before I was served and then it took about 15 mins to make an egg & bacon roll. Admittedly the eggs have to be cooked - but surely the girl checking the bacon could have kept an eye on the eggs, so the other girl could serve the huge queue of people. Also be nice if you’re paying nearly a fiver for an egg & bacon roll with brown sauce - they didn’t give you ketchup. Shame because the food is nice

Sausage bap is divine. Plenty of sauce and perfectly cooked. Love the lunchtime baps as well, chicken and bacon/ coronation chicken. Staff have been excellent and friendly. Seem to get served much quicker than marshalswick but any chance you could open a bit earlier??

Been coming here for the past 30+ years and the quality has always remained the same-excellent and delicious.

Lovely little bakery in the heart of the city centre. Went to get some fresh bread and sandwiches and had to return for more as it was so tasty!! The seeded baguette was on another level.

Definitely my fav bakery in St Albans. The only among a few that has vegan products (Gail’s doesn’t have vegan bread nor pastries). Friendly people, who are always willing to print out ingredient list for allergies purposes. Not overpriced like some “local organic” places. You can always get your breads sliced here or get a freezer bag for your purchase. Highly recommend!!

Lovely fresh produce made daily

Visiting St Albans market it was a must to visit Simmons and have one of their most delicious cherry and almond slices. I ordered my slice and the lady delivered my coffee to me as I sat outside watching the passing traffic. Although not cheap the taste and freshness of the cherry slice plus the very good coffee gives this an easy 5-star rating.

Staff was grumpy and not helpful at all. Sandwich doesn't worth the 6£ spent on it.. better take your business somewhere else.

We have eaten at Simmons Bakeries all over the county and we have never been disappointed. This time we were fortunate to find that they had the most delicious cherry and almond slices on offer. We selected two slices with two coffees so we could sit outside, eat them and watch the world go by, and all in glorious sunshine to boot. The coffee matched the cakes and they went down beautifully. I noted that now they are even more bio-friendly by supplying two wooded forks, with which we could eat the cakes. Needless to say, the service was exemplary.

Been going in this shop nearly every day for over ten years but it has been ruined by the recent change in management . Barely any hot food selection, burnt dry sausages and staff with a terrible attitude I will buy my food elsewhere from now on !
