So far the best fish and chips I had!

I had an order which I placed. I had a few different things. But our battered sausages were harder than rock ......I'll not be using this chipshop again ...its very poor don't waste you hard earned money....use a proper chipshop like duston chippy as its the best. Every little helps 🤣🤣✌️

terrible food, rubbish service. Food is always greasy and portion sizes are terrible. Need to up your portion sizes.

Food was cooked whilst i waited, didnt mind as the man was very friendly and we were chatting the whole time, food was not greasy, very tasty, amd reasonably priced will definitely be back

Probably the worst fish & chips I’ve had in a long time. Chips were stale and dry. Fish was over cooked and batter was tough to cut through in places.

Excellent customer service,food was cooked fresh with good portions.absoluly wonderful experience, chips were to die for and the fish was fresh and thick

The curry sauce was like baby food curry out of a baby jar please sort it out. Chips are hit and miss today alittle on the dry side nearly broke a tooth. Maybe go back in afew months see if standards have changed used to he really nice once.

Chips were dried up and hard. Must have been reheated from lunch time.

Probably the worst chip shop I have ever been to.i ordered 2 sausages and chips .no sausages in my order.tried ringing them at 21.10 when they said online they were open till 21.30..............also they thought my change was there tip without me saying that there tip

AWFUL I should know better. Went sometime ago said I wouldn't go again, but thought I would give it another go.WRONG decision terrible reheated dried rubbish wouldn't even call them chips. Sausage was ok but cold like chips go somewhere else I will.

As much as we know covid19 is difficult they could make more effort. There is very little to indicate what needs to be done. They also do not stop customers starting in there who don't wear masks so it's not a safe environment for anyone vulnerable. Not my favourite chippy anyway as their fish is quite soggy but they're ok. Right now it's just their attitude to safety letting them down.

For 35yrs living in Duston we have gone to this shop . The folk that run it now I think are about the 3rd lot of owners. 6.30pm last night after phoning our order through at 6pm, my husband picked up the order of 2 large cod and a small portion of chips. He had to wait at the door for the order(table across the door to prevent entering, which was sensible). The 3 min drive round the corner to home and immediate dishing up of the fish & chips revealed WARM fish of medium size and and broken lumps of fish (both portions), along with WARM chips that were dry and wrinkled . I managed to find 3 chips that were edible, but the rest and those of my husbands went into the bin. We saw the staff box these items up from the hot cabinet and the second piece of fish did break up when lifted from the shelf. Well done to the staff that managed to palm off 2nd rate food onto us and take the £10 it cost, but you will not get another chance to do it again, as we shall not EVER be returning to you to be ripped off again ! Shame on you !

When you read a review. The ONLY thing you want to know is. Was it good and howʻs the price. Answer? The quality was on point with the lovely fresh battered cod (or other fishes of your choice) and the generous freshly cut chips. Among the other options they had were Pukka Pies, Sausages, Scampi, Nuggets and your usual choices. The prices are good and not overpriced at all. Staff was friendly and Owner Chris was great. If youʻre in the area, check them out.

The fish is always good but the chips are very hit and miss, some times good, mostly bad, I think they must reheat the chips as they are dry and crispy, if i could go there for fish and somewhere else for chips without my meal going cold then i would.

Staff are friendly and food is nice,, downfall is that they dont sell gravey or grated cheese

I love our fish and chips from here as they cook them to order without too much batter - my body is a chapel :) The staff are really friendly and I always find the customers friendly too. Reasonably priced and always fresh.

A good traditional chippy that always looks clean and tidy. Sells the usual chippy favourites and a selection of cans of pop too! This chippy is located in a small precinct with parking for about 10-15 cars. In the precinct you will also find a little tesco , off licence and Chinese takeaway - so handy for takeaway night!

Good food and reasonable prices, the staff are friendly and they remember my order as I nearly always have the same thing. Even at busy times they manage to limit the waiting time, definitely recommended.

Having not a lot of time, decided to have a chip supper .. Both the wife and son had large sausage and chips and myself a chicken pie. All was good and the chips even more so. Was quick service and pleasant staff..

Great fish and chips. Hidden away in old Duston, limehurst square. They generally cook fish fresh to order and it always comes in a box - not stuck to the paper which then pulls all the batter off when you get home!

Visiting for the evening and fancied fish and chips. Navigated to this place using sat nav. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the fish. My wife had Haddock and I had Cod. Both with chips. Cooked fresh to order and served in boxes. Batter was crispy and fish was big white flakes and very fresh. Worth the few miles drive.

Cannot fault the fish,the chips are another matter you may be lucky and get proper chips on the other hand you may finish up with a load of bits hardly any eatable chips.So go there when their busy.

We have been here many times now and it is consistently good. both the fish and chips and great and prices are in line with what you'd expect to pay. Gluten Free sausages are also available, (Please not I cannot confirm if they cooked in the same oil as batter, so please take care if you are a coeliac)

This has got to be one of the best chippies in the country! The fish is always amazingly fresh and moist - beautifully cooked with a light, crispy batter and the chips are lovely thick, soft pillows and so many of them! We share a 'small ' portion and still have some left over. Great value for money

My son and I were in Northampton for the day and fancied some fish and chips. Rather than visit Trip Advisor, I Googled 'best chips shop Northampton' and came up witha link to the Northampton Chronicle & Echo - http://www.northamptonchron.co.uk/news/business/business-news/northampton-fish-and-chip-shop-among-best-in-uk-1-5352942 I read the article and realised that this place was highly thought of, so we had to give it a try. It is only a few miles outside of Northampton centre, but I was glad to have Sat Nav to help find it. When I arrived, the shop was empty, but it was only 5.45pm. There were two staff behind the counter, one of whom I immediately recognised from the article to be the owner - Chris Leung. I ordered a Haddock and Chips, and a Saveloy and chips for my son. As is the norm, I had to wait for the Haddock to be cooked to order, but this was not a problem because it gave me an opportunity to chat with Chris. What a lovely man. He spoke very passionately about his business and answered all my inane questions about the vote and the amount of custom it must have drummed him up. When the food came, I wasw thoroughly disappointed that the chips were extremely ordinary. The Haddock, however, was fantastic. The fish itself was extremely tasty and the batter was cooked to perfection with not too much grease. I really enjoyed the fish which was priced quite reasonably. I just didn't think much of the chips. In fact, my son, only having a fairly standard Saveloy, came away thinking - 'what is all the fuss about?' If I lived in the area, I'd probably make this my local chippy, bt because I only occasionally have fish, I'm pretty sure that the professionalism of the owner, rather than his chips would be the lure that brought me back. As it is, I will probably never be in Northampton and looking for chips again, so this will turn out to be my only visit. I'm not missing an awful lot foodwise to be honest.
