Incredibly chip shop like. I am completely spellbound

Used to be some of the best chips I've had, but chip quality seams to fallen not nice

Have to give honest opinion unfortunately today the chips were soggy and tasted as if were left over from lunchtime, as did the battered sausage, which the batter being hard and tough to cut through and the sausage itself dry, again as if had been standing for a long period of time. It's such a shame as my previous meal from here was spot on.

Best fish and chips in Duston. Large portions, fish cooked to perfection and staff are speedy and friendly.

Only used this place once, for double burger and onion rings. The burgers come in a bap with absolutely nothing else: no salad, no sauce etc. Ridiculous. The burgers themselves are edible but taste like those ultra cheap low quality ones. I really didn't want to give a poor review but it does merit one. The prices are on par with other such takeaways, therefore I should reasonably expect salad, sauce etc and not ultra budget burgers.

Very nicely cooked fish with crisp batter. Too many chips for me! Especially as I sneaked in a (tasty) jumbo sausage too….

Really good soft chips, nice veggie burger and fish.

Portion size is terrible!! Ask for salad as well, as you can see nothing… chips were soggy to.. won’t be going back there.

Absolutely love the chips from here. Great local chippy. Traditional store with good value prices. Also love their battered items, always fresh and not overly greasy/oily as it can be from other chip shops.

We had fish and chips last night.. everything was nice and hot and well cooked..the only trouble is it tasted of old oil..I hate to say but the meal didn't taste fresh..such a shame..

Northampton has some ok chip shops and this is one of them. Better than most.

Decided to try this local fish & chip shop after 2/3 years. So glad I did. Excellent service. Lovely batter on the fish. Fish not at all dry. Chips cooked to perfection. All in all, a lovely supper. I will return!!!

I was meant to go to the other chip shop in Duston and I wish I did. The food at this one is below average: Chips - soft and slightly soggy, no crisp to them whatsoever. The were opened within 5 mins of leaving the shop so not left wrapped up for ages. Battered sausage - was ok, crispy batter. Kebab - how hard is it to season some chicken and grill? Very apparently. Kind of felt like the chicken had been boiled and finished on the grill. Bland as hell. Poorly put together. I honestly didn't think kebabs could be this bad Service - can't fault very friendly and served quickly I don't particularly like being negative about a small business but it was honestly terrible. Sorry guys.

Always lovely albeit they never quite got the system running for covid literally having customers out in the cold not knowing when their order is ready. Ordering in advance doesn't speed the process

Pro's: Lovely food and good value Con's; not what I would call Covid secure; no max number in store stated, that I could see and very little, if any, no ventilation. Ideally they should take orders at the door and ask customers to wait outside. I'm unlikely to visit again any time soon.

This Fish and Chip shop is awesome highly recommend everybody try this Fish and Chip Shop food cooked fresh so might have to wait 10 to 15 mins but well worth it, and you know you will go home happy with decent food also do dinner Kebabs which are nice...🐟🐟🐟🌮🌮🌮

Lovely Fish and Chips. Fish always freshly cooked and not sitting under lights for ages. Chips not always so fresh but still good. We are pensoners and we really value the "senior offer" of F&C for £4.50 each. BARGAIN!

used this fish and chip shop on many occasions, always good size portions, good quality chips, friendly staff and reasonable prices. need to work on allergens as cook battered sausages in the same oil as fish! if you are allergic to fish this is a problem!

Duston Fish bar is just the best "chipperama" in Northampton. New young owners in the last couple of years [circa 2019] have taken the service to a new high level. As for their F&C . . . it is terrific - muyo yummy nosh indeed!

Popped in tonight for the familys tea and can honestly say we all thought it was superb! Best fish and chips we habe had in a long time, and no grease! Highly recommend.

This review may seem unfair at first. Since I have lived in Duston, my family and I have been getting food from here. So from 2001, or so. Lovingly run by the wonderful Albert and Wella for such a long time, I could not fault the place. Recently however, after their retirement, the people who have taken over do not know what they are doing. The food has been consistently awful since Albert and Wella have gone. Petrified cod, charcoal kebab, congealed chips... it's a real shame.

Been here many times and the owners are always friendly. Usually give you free chips to eat whilst waiting too. Good portions at reasonable prices.

Great Fish & Chips, lovely couple run it. Very busy at times - which tells you all you need to know. Certainly the best chippy in Duston, and probably the best in Northampton.

Depends upon what you read, the BEST CHIPPY in Duston by far, is the other end of Main Road, opposite the Squirrels public house. Never use this one, so not able to pass judgement.

Very bad. No longer vegetarian chips. They cook fish and meat in with chips. Was told they cook separate then spotted they weren't.

Surely this can't be best chippy in Duston , they use frozen chips ! Kebab meat was dry , would have been nice 3 hours ago .

Absolutely FIRST CLASS chippy, plenty of options to select from, the freshly cooked fish and chips are to die for. The owners are Albert and Wella who are such kind and considerate people. They have entered the Northamptonshire Chip shop of the year competition on two occasions and WON in 2015 and came in 2nd in 2016, well deserved for their high quality of food and their cleanliness, also their very hard work. This place does the best fish and chips. Freshly cooked. The couple who own it are soooo good. Keep up the good work. I travel from spinney hill which is 5 miles from this place. That is how good the food is.

Fish and chips ok. Normally, fish batter way too thick or not fully cooked whilst chips are very greasy. Best to order by phone first and pick up to avoid waiting too long.

Consistently good over the 20 plus years I've been a customer. Great food and good prices. Parking can be tricky at times but it's worth the effort to get there. They also deliver.

Great chip shop, really friendly staff

Run by a lovely couple. It is true that the lovely lady may come across as a little pushy but then, they are in the business of selling things and it's not like they lock the door and force anyone to buy extra, it's just an option. Be a regular customer and you find out they are very loyal indeed Very occasionally they do forget something in a large order so a good idea to watch them get the food. One huge advantage is that they take cards unlike so many who still insist on cash.
