Silver Sea in Milton Keynes

Very disappointing take away from Silver Sea. Easily the worst Chinese Take Away for a long time. The chili crispy beef had a strange taste, no chili & too much pineapple. The chicken had no texture. Possibly reconstituted chicken had been used. Not come across this before. The Szechuan dish had no spice to it despite claiming to have one chili. Everything was tasteless. The mini spring rolls had little or no filling. Normally we keep any leftovers for the next day, to make a tasty second meal. This time everything went in the food caddy.

Been going here for years. Best in Milton Keynes we think. Always polite and friendly staff. We enjoy our visit to family more knowing we can get a good takeaway Thanks Silver Sea

My husband and I ordered a takeaway form here last night, and it was beyond awful. The chow mein was nothing like chow mein and vile, the egg fried rice tasted & looked like long grain rice, chicken was rock solid and sweet & sour sauce was like pure vinegar. What a waste of £30, it all went straight in the bin.

This is by far THE best chinese take away in Milton Keynes. Fresh, good quality ingredients, would not go anywhere else. We are fussy eaters and this always smashes it out of the park every time . X

We have been using silver sea for years. We have tried loads of different Chinese restaurants but this one is the best by far. Very very tasty. Good sized portions and reasonably priced. Deffo highly recommended

Best vegetarian and vegan Chinese food ever! As a family we also buy for the meat eaters and we all agree this place can't be beat. We wouldn't consider anywhere else. The staff are lovely and friendly and prices very reasonable.

Best Chinese food in Milton Keynes for sure!! Anyone who doesn't agree doesn't appreciate the high standard of food and effort gone into this restaurant. Highly recommended!

Order our dinner on Saturday the 2nd of May for my wife to collect. What we received was the worse chinese food I have ever tasted. The crispy chilli beef was overcooked and tasted like pork crackling (fried in dirty oil) the fried rice tasted like curry and overall was horrible. I manage to eat about half of my dinner and threw away the rest.

We've been searching for a good Chinese place for a while in mk and this one is, honestly, the best I've had by far. me and my family go there regularly (trying not to eat out as much but when we do, this is always first choice).

Only reason for non full review is they didn’t do salt and pepper chicken wings or vermicelli. Vermicelli is a Must (Re evaluate life ). Pork ribs where unbelievably nice, and just like the whole meal, was packed, stuffed to the brim and left me moderately shocked upon opening of said dish. However, nothing. The same throughout, Szechuan and black bean was up-2-par and marginally beyond expectations et avec levs. The prawns and beef - Lev ( of a high and dominating level of satisfaction in relation to the service advertised) Thank you. New Rib establishment certified, word-of-mouth is already in motion abruptly. service, quality & quantity, high 5, very nice.

You always receive a warm welcome. I have been going to Silver Sea since I was a child, it's still run by the same family. Always hot & tasty food, they will tweak the dish if you do not want a particular item in your meal. The best Chinese Takeaway in MK as far as I'm concerned.

Went to a friend's, they got a meal for 7 of us. It was delicious. The lemon chicken, ribs, chow mein in fact it was all lovely, not at all greasy as some can be. Recommend

Always use this chinese when staying with my family - its a lovely place, great customer service, the food is always hot and cooked fresh and it very yummy! Great for a night in by yourself, with friends and family!

Been going to the silver sea for about 20 years. I have yet to find Chinese food better anywhere else. I have moved further away but still drive over to wolverton to get the delicious food every now & again.

Al caminar por las escaleras a este para llevar y a la bonita, limpia cálido y acogedor restaurante para llevar. Al momento de escribir (2014 Dic), contienen un hotel de cinco estrellas por sus estándares de higiene de los alimentos. El menú tiene todo lo que podrías esperar de cualquier llevar chino, así como una buena selección de platos especiales. El servicio era rápido, profesional y amable. El precio es un poco más que otro chino comida para llevar que hemos probado, pero merece la pena. Volveremos a este nuevo para llevar y recomendando a otros.

estado viniendo aquí durante años y han conocido de este lugar ya que los primeros años ochenta y que ha estado en su familia ... el personal es estupendo que es muy amable y servicial. La comida es muy fresco y delicioso para probar ... poco más caro que otros lugares pero vale la pena.

Hemos intentado cualquier número de tiendas de comida para llevar pero La Plata Mar es uno de los mejores. La comida es excelente y el personal es muy agradable y servicial. Si no has probado, pruébalo, el único inconveniente es que no ofrecen un servicio de entrega a domicilio. La calidad de la comida lo compensa el viaje a recoger. Los precios están bien y sin duda volveremos de nuevo.

The restaurant was originally just a take away and it was always very popular but they decided to add a sit down area. It is ok, there is vey little atmosphere and when we went we were the only ones in there. It hacked me off that someone was always "hovering" close to our table and every 2 minutes someone would ask if everything was ok!! The bill was a bit top end to be honest and surprised me, £38 for a meal for 2. Would I return? Probably not.

No website to see the menu for the takeaway service, it's 2013 guys. And a very limited menu. We wanted to phone our order through before going so we didn't have to wait, but as there was no way to see what they did we had to go down there and wait. The menu is taped to the counter so they stand over you and wait with their pad and paper, no pressure at all! Food is ok, nothing special to write home about. They definitely need to step into the 21st century.

First time at the Silver Sea restaurant but wont be the last. Food was delicious and the service was excellent. Restaurant was quiet which we like but it was doing a great trade on the takeaways. Went midweek so probably a lot busier at weekends. Prices very reasonable, would highly recommend

I've been going to silver sea for years for both take aways and more recently to eat in the restaurant. It never seems busy and it's hard to understand why. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is excellent. The chap who owns the place is very welcoming and has a good relationship with regular customers. It's definitely worth a visit during the week to try out the buffet. Absolutely fantastic food with top service - worth every penny.
