We had excellent food and exceptional service at this restaurant. Staff were attentive and the food was cooked to perfection.

This place was great.We were staying in the area and went for an evening meal.The meal was beautiful and the service was attentive and fast.meal was well priced and a really good cocktail.well worth a visit

I’ve visited twice and both times, the restaurant temperature has been very cold to the point of being uncomfortable. I thought maybe the heat was broke the first time so we gave Silkys the benefit of the doubt and gave it another chance but the second time was also very cold. We ate both times wearing our coats. The food is good and very beautifully presented however when I ordered the club sandwich, one thin slice of bacon that had been cut in half was stingy. Won’t be back

First time at Silky’s today and what a gem of a bistro. Truly beautiful food so well presented and such lovely staff. Took home equally delicious desserts for later. I cannot wait to return and would highly recommend 😊

Travelling from Derry and needed a roast! Totally delicious Turkey & Ham, gravy was magnificent. Bao buns starter also lovely

lovely clean bistro that you could easily drive past, we stopped on the way from Donegal to airport. extensive menus with gluten free options which always is a great find for me, friendly, efficient staff and it was very busy on a Wednesday lunch time with locals so always a good sign I believe

On our way to Donegal. We made an impromptu stop in Dungiven at Silkies. What a great find!! .. We were warmly greeted on arrival. . Our lunches were superb. I had panko gougouns and my sister gad soup and a toasted sandwich. The food was of a high standard. Excellently presented. The staff were so attentive and caring throughout out visit We will be back!!

A groping of 18 of us had booked Sunday lunch at Silky's. We were not disappointed. The Sunday roasts are made up of just great food ... well cooked, lovely flavour, great ingredients. We will be back ! The staff, and Rachael herself, are superb. Every detail looked after ... we were provided with excellent tea and coffee as takeout when we hit the road, and even a goody bag of nice biscuits and chocolates each to take away ! If you are in the region around Dungiven, this is the place to eat.

We stopped in to Silkys for lunch whilst in Dungiven shopping. The menu is great, so much choice and so inexpensive. The soup was blended vegetable , I am a big soup fan and it was UNREAL. I also had the chicken and chorizo Caesar Salad (asked for extra sauce and this was no problem) . My hubbie had the Silkys Burger and chips. Everything was so tasty, well presented and service was great. Portion sizes on everything were generous. Also, a comment on how clean the area was, especially the toilets! Great experience, food and value for money. Will definitely return and recommend .

A hidden gem in Dungiven. Food was delicious and well presented. Speedy service and cocktails were fabulous. Plenty of choice for the less adventurous and same goes for those who want to try something different. Will definitely be back!

A must stop restaurant in Dungiven. Attention to detail inside and out is outstanding. Great menu selection with new specials each week so something for everyone. Service great, very clean and staff go above and beyond!

We called there for food around 3.15 . No one came to our table . We had to get our own menus. There were five people behind the counter. Ordered roast dinner and veggie burger. After a long 45 min wait the young waitress came...

Really lovely dinner tonight - roast beef dinner and gammon dinner. Very well priced. Plenty of other choices on menu. Definitely be back. Great decor and very clean. Pleasant place to eat.

Visited Silkys for lunch with family.The bistro is very pleasant surroundings..Menu overly priced for basic food..Need to consider this given all good deals in Restaraunt in Derry..Burger undercooked and sent back..Brought out a 2nd time still undercooked.!!

Myself and some family got the early bird special. Service was great and staff very attentive and friendly. Food was lovely and cocktails impressive and all great value for money. This restaurant is a much needed facility in Dungiven and will hopefully be here for...

Waitors basically ignored us for the the first 25 minutes of arrival. Took the food 35 minutes to be served. The salt and chilli chips were plain chips with 2 slices of chilli on top. The carbonara was a macaroni and cheese sauce with bacon....

Visited here yesterday for about the 5th time with family. Wasn’t great the last time we visited in terms of slow service but decided to give it another chance. Food was average to say the least. Two people in our company ordered the chicken goujons...

We called in on the way past for the 'cure' full breakfast on Sunday afternoon. Great fry and not greasy. Staff friendly and helpful too.

Excellent funky interior design, comfortable and clean. Wonderful friendly waitress called Colette who gave exceptional and professional Service. Lovely food, especially the homemade soup! Toilets very modern and clean. Free parking and and covered outdoor eating area.

Went here to catch up with friends. I wasn't impressed by the menu. It felt like they were trying to hard by adding an extra something that was totally unnecessary to each dish. However, we shared a cheesy garlic bread and a bruschetta which were...

First visit to this establishment. Family dinner. Service was friendly and efficient. Staff were well informed on the dishes offered. Food could only be described as outstanding. My fellow diners were wowed by the carrot and thyme soup. Main courses did not disappoint. Desserts were fresh, home made and very tasty. Price/ quality ratio was excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

My sister’s 50th at short notice. Quirky decor may not be to everyone’s taste but ok we weren’t there to take in the architectural nuances of this particular building. Drinks served in short order while we waited on food. A nice range of starters and quite a few main course. Meals prepared fresh in an open kitchen that you can see into. Steak was bland and tasteless and if I’m honest, hard going in the chewing department as well. I have had a lot better for my 19 quid. The chicken gougons were a different story. Had by 4 out of our party they seemed to go down a treat especially with the 2 side sauces. Usual side order of chips, garlic chips etc. Seasonal veg looked excellent. Various selection of sweets including a nice chocolate panacota with honeycomb ice cream which was delicious. All in all pretty reasonable for 6 of us. Verdict - steak disappointing, the rest was fine. Would I go back? Yes but I would try something different

I was with a party of OAP's from Clanmil, on a trip to Dungiven area to see Abertachs grave and the Dungiven Priory, and after these visits, (which I thoroughly recommend 110%), we stopped off at a little Bistro, in Dungiven called "Silkys" … The tea / coffee was very tasty, and the sandwiches were absolutely divine, with a lovely selection of fillings... and the pastries were very tempting and mouth watering...The young staff were very courteous and helpful, and could not do enough for us... nothing was too much trouble .. The atmosphere was friendly, and very welcoming upon entering, and the premises are very spacious and airy.. I would highly recommend this Restaurant / Bistro, 110% for any occasion, as it is very friendly, and the customer service is top notch... Once again, to SILKY'S staff, Thank You for making a lovely day out, even more special...

We had two evening meals at Silky’s and both we’re excellent. Would happily go back in a heart beat.

Called in for lunch. Décor was lovely, with plenty of room. Very nice atmosphere. The music was very loud - this was the only downside. I asked the waitress if she would mind turning it down. I think she may have - slightly!

Fantastic spot! Brilliant short menu of classics & originals, dished up in a cool, friendly & casual setting. Great value for really top notch food (especially fish). Pickled rhubarb with perfectly grilled hake was a revelation! Staff were lovely with our 3-year-old too! Recommended!

Called here for afternoon meal and was extremely impressed. The food was delicious and the staff very attentive and well mannered, will definitely be back, first class.

During a previous trip from NZ, I stopped here for a light meal. The experience was so good I went out of my way to come back again on my next trip. I wasn't disappointed.

Living locally my wife and I had been planning to try Silky's for some time. Finally decided to stop in for breakfast this morning. Was impressed by the friendly service and atmosphere, I had the full breakfast and my wife had the mini breakfast. Portion size was large and the food was great. Prices where also very reasonable, two breakfasts with soft drink and tea for around £13.

we had the 2 course menu..we ordered water however it would have been an extra added touch if it was poured.our main plates were all cold which means that the food gets cold quicker. we were not checked when on main meal. we did inform the male waiter of the latter however no apology . there was a cold breeze through out our evening .also the lights should be dimmed for evening time to create a good ambience. a few issues need to be addressed.

we called here by accident after getting lost in the dark roads. the staff were so friendly especally with my 20 month old grandaughter they gave her books toys etc to occupy her the food was quick and tasty

Called at 12.45 on Friday 10th November 2017. The restaurant was fairly busy. Pleasant waitress seated us and gave us a menu each. Couldn't see anything light so asked another waitress if they did toasties etc. She noticed we had been given the evening menu and replaced with the lunch menu. We placed our order a few minutes later, chowder and a toasted panini. We then waited and waited and waited. I could see four staff in the kitchen. There seemed to be some issues with the dockets as they were looking at them and pointing before moving the dockets around. At 13.10 I asked a waitress if she knew how long our lunch would be. She didn't really know so I asked for the manager. This was the same person who noticed we had the wrong menu and had taken our order. She told us there were two or three orders ahead of ours and that our docket had only been in for 10 minutes. I told her it was much longer but she insisted and told us our lunch would be around 10 minutes longer. No apology. We said we weren't prepared to wait and left. Wouldn't recommend this place.

This restaurant is a breath of fresh air. A lovely relaxing restaurant with a great atmosphere. The food was delicious and the cocktails were a lovely. Very reasonably priced and will definitely visit again.

Called in on the way back from the airport, never heard of the place but was keen to get a bite to eat. Was pleasantly surprised by how swiftly I was given my food and it was good food, can definitely tell it's a fresh cooking place. I would say compliments to the chef but if I'm honest compliments to the whole set up, will definitely be calling back for more!

Nice bistro on main st. easy parking. Beet and parsnip soup, never had it before. Excellent. Sandwiches are also fantastic.

I ate in Silkys Bistro on Sunday 14th October 17. I chose the salmon dish which was the best I have ever tasted. Cooked to perfection! The vegetables were delicious and the dauphinoise potatoes were very tasty.

Visited on 5.10.17. Great place, wonderful food,service and amazing cocktails. Good atmosphere.Highly recommended. We had the set 3 courses - only negative was the drink was beer with this menu - should think about changing this. it's the only place I've visited where I had a lovely choice of dessert.

Lunch was absolutely delicious. Great cocktail list and lovely atmosphere. Staff very attentive. All round fab dining experience. Worth a visit.

I have dined in Silkys on a number of occasions and each time the food has been excellent. The food is delicious and I love the fact that they use local suppliers and produce. The portions are generous. The interior is beautiful and the staff are friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend a visit!

i have ate here a few times , for breakfast , lunch and dinner and i really have to say the food is exceptional. everything is cooked perfectly and to a high standard . The quality of the ingredients used also shows and they execute the presentation appealingly. The atmosphere created by the friendly staff is relaxed open and almost laid back without being unprofessional , they are extremely helpful and attend to any requirements you may have. aside from the great food you also are greeted with a fabulous selection of well made top quality cocktails . you have to try at least one ! if you can stop at that ..

Although the lovely My Grey, our own Jamie Dornan, recently praised the qualities of this great bistro, we are chuffed to say we found it before him! It is so wonderful to have a place like this on our own doorstep and all power to the owners for their new venture that offers food of the very highest quality to be found anywhere.

Great to see a great Resturant in Dungiven. Had dinner there on Friday. Great service and the food was fantastic. Up there with any Resturant in Derry, Belfast or Dublin! Worth a visit.

Gisteren op zoek naar meeneemkoffie kwamen we hier toevallig terecht. Nu we in de buurt waren en wilden lunchen wisten we dat we hier naar toe waren aangezien we na de koffie gisteren de recensies hadden gelezen. Jammer dat we deze mooi ingerichte bistro pas op onze laatste vakantiedag ontdekten! De lunch was heerlijk, goed geprijsd en wat een vriendelijke mensen!

Came across this eatery (Irish Restaurant) while in Dungiven, NI. Fantastic food, great service, quality food - especially the chucknee!!!

Staying nearby, Silky's Came up as the #2 restaurant in the local area. I couldn't seem to find #1, but all I can say is that it must be absolutely sensational to top this place!

First time at Silkys whilst on holiday. Not sure what to expect but had recommendation from local people. Thursday night is steak night 3 courses and a beer for £21.delicious beetroot and red cabbage soup, amazing homemade wheaten bread. Perfect steaks cooked exactly to order with unusual and tasty accompaniments. Local Irish cheese board. Barman made great cocktails with style!! Above all relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. Will be back next year.

Carrot and sweet potato soup was so delicious, we came back the next day for more. Staff is very friendly and ingredients are fresh. Not a huge menu, but great selection. The club sandwich and angus burger were HUGE. Wish I could go there for dinner tonight, but we're back home over 3000 miles away.

Stopped on a Sunday as couldn't find anywhere else open. Thought it was going to be more than we wanted, only ended up getting more food, more taste, and more service than expected. Stunning food, polite pleasant staff. Will definitely be stopping again.
