Me and some friends visited the restaurant on September 14th for my birthday and the entire experience was brilliant! The food was perfect, the atmosphere was great and the staff were absolutely amazing, they went above and beyond, I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! I even got a birthday card from them and they sung happy birthday to me, they truly became a part of my birthday! Sadly I didn't get photos of any main meals, but they were all presented beautifully and they tasted even better! I will 100% be visiting again!

Lovely food but limited pasta dishes also after starters our main course came almost straight after. A 10 minute break would have been better. Service was excellent and a lovely atmosphere. Absolutely amazing views.

Ate and had a drink on the balcony overlooking the bay. Really nice food and staff were welcoming.

Brilliant service, staff were amazing and really helpful and accommodating as I was dining alone with 3 children ( my youngest is autistic and was quite hyper to begin with) and can not thank the staff enough. The food was delicious and everyone was happy and full. Will definitely be back.

The food was fantastic and the staff were amazing. Very helpful and attentive and genuinely friendly. This is a fabulous place, with beautiful views across the bay, authentic, tasty Italian food. If you love mushrooms and garlic then the garlic mushroom starter is for you - it was heavenly!!

Visited Signor Valentino’s last Sunday evening for a meal with my wife and daughter. My starter of skewered chicken was excellent; my daughter had garlic mushrooms, which she appeared to enjoy, although I thought they appeared to have come out of a tin. For our mains, my wife and daughter both had the same pasta dish which they said was okay. I had a risotto, which according to the menu was made with Arborio rice, however what I was served was definitely not made with Arborio rice! The rice grains did not stick together as Arborio does, and they were soggy and overcooked, and were surrounded by a puddle of watery “sauce.” I have eaten risotto in many restaurants in Italy and the UK, I also make it myself occasionally, so I know exactly how it should look and taste. I’ve even made it in a rice cooker, which is not intended to cook risotto, with satisfactory results! Apart from a visit to a restaurant in Manchester almost thirty years ago, where they too substituted an inferior, and probably cheaper rice for the Arborio, this was the worst risotto I’ve ever had. We ordered desserts, although we were sorely tempted to cut our losses and go for ice creams from Cadwallader’s, down below. For dessert my daughter had the Profiteroles which she appeared to enjoy; my wife and I had the Panna Cotta, which I thought had a “heavy” texture. We are unlikely to return.

Frozen fish, no care taken, menu doesn't match what's served. Poor.

I had king prawn and scallop pasta. I was served one prawn and the scallops were tasteless (i think they came out of a freezer). There was supposed to be cherry tomatoes, but there was only a light tomato sauce, which wasn't what I wanted. Couldn't taste any garlic. Although not too busy, it was difficult to get the attention of some staff.

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! Me and my daughter visited whilst on holiday. They fit us in earlier than our booking, we had a superb view over the Quay. The service was brilliant with the manager really making us laugh. The food was lovely, I had the tagliatelle with chicken and pepperoni followed by the tiramisu and some salted caramel icecream. All exceptional. And a delicious strawberry mojito mocktail. We had the best meal and I already can't wait to return next time we come to Cardiff.

Lots of "safe options", so everyone will find something for themselves 😊 good food, drinks, desserts and very nice service.

A better than average meal but had to ask for oil, salt and pepper. Staff appeared disinterested. Been here many times but the service seems to have gone down hill. Has this place been taken over? The friendly welcome and swish interior seems to be lacking too.

Absolutely amazing food and wine

Ordered whitebait and lasagne from the set menu, both dishes disappointed as this is not Italian tasting food it was very bland and sauce tasted like it was out of a jar.we were given a dessert menu, but nobody came to follow that up! So we asked for the bill,so we paid minus the service charge as we were not happy with the food or service,plus the waiter commented that we didn't pay the service charge! And was quite rude about it. Then as we left he was telling italian the waitress about this, my advice would be to wait till your customers have left the establishment before you talk badly about them.I will not be returning here,will stick to giovvannis for real Italian food.

We came as a party of 8 people of all ages. Service was certainly with a smile. The lady who seated us was very pleasant. The setting is beautiful looking over Cardiff bay. The food that very good and a good, inexpensive lunch time menu. Two large courses for £18.95. Excellent choice and value. Highly recommended.

We truly enjoyed a Saturday evening there. We were sitting outside and it was a bit windy but the place is beautiful, the food is awesome but the people are amazing. Definitely try the pizzas, pastas and the tiramisu. Make sure you say hello to Mr Luigi too. 🫡

Visited Signor Valentino for my graduation meal. They were able to fit us in last-minute and were incredibly accommodating. Food was amazing and staff very kind. Was given a photo and a cake to mark the occasion!

Today's occasion was my mother's 78th birthday. We all love the establishment for its beautiful food, happy staff, with glorious views of cardiff Bay whilst you eat. I enjoyed a ribeye with king prawns to start whilst others tried the chicken and the lamb for main meals. My steak was absolutely stunning with the signature restaurant sauce to accompany it and vegetables. Five star. I enjoy an Irish coffee rather than one of their desserts, which was a brilliant finish to a happy occasion

We went for dinner here last night, a beautiful setting overlooking the bay. Staff and service were spot on, not overly attentive. The seafood spaghetti, bruschetta, garlic mushrooms, sea bass and tiramisu were lovely. No beer on tap, but the bottled Welsh cider gwynt o’r draig and the wine were very favourable. We would recommend this place to anyone visiting Cardiff and look forward to our return to this restaurant. Service charges are included with the bill.

We attended this venue to celebrate a birthday. What a great location with views across the Bay to Penarth. The service was excellent and the staff very attentive to our large party. Unfortunately, the food didn't match the service or ambience. Slightly overpriced too.

Had our anniversary lunch there today....food was lovely and the waitress Sheila so friendly and helpful.Will definitely go again

The service is really good, the friendly smile is unforgettable. The food ingredients are fresh and the sauce is very appropriate and delicious.

Very very good pasta al dente like an italian, plenty of Parmesan cheese available. Don’t miss it !

A really great little restaurant! Beautifully cooked, excellent quality and great service. As a fussy eater I’m always apprehensive about requesting various things from different dishes on the menu, but no problem or fuss here at all. The atmosphere was relaxing, great after a long day to unwind or celebrate. I will be returning for the latter very soon! Thank you 🙂

The food and service are excellent. Location is superb too. Check the bill though as the service charge is a very steep 18%

Very lovely staff, beautiful restaurant. Sat by the windows looking out to the sea, was very nice. Calamari wasn't the best but all the other food was great, had a three course meal. The seafood options were good, and both the panacotta and tiramisu were delicious. We were the last ones there on a quiet Tuesday night, very lovely meal and experience.

Over priced. Food average and tinned mushrooms used instead of fresh. Wouldn't go again waste of money.

Love this place. Haven't been for a few years but it's as good as it always was, possibly better. Great location, friendly knowledgeable staff. Food was outstanding.

Went for my birthday. Food was nice, my dad enjoyed the chicken and I enjoyed my pizza. My mum had a risotto which was quite bland. The setting is lovely and the staff were nice. We went on a Sunday so it was quiet. Would go again and its a nice change to going to a chain like pizza express / zizzis food tastes fresh.

Lovely Italian with amazing views. Staff were attentive but not over the top. Sat by the window at the front overlooking the bay. When a guy sat doing the accounts realised my partner was struggling to see due to the sun he lowered the blinds before we had a change to say anything. Ordered the Prawn Spaghetti and the Insalata Di Pollo. Both lovely meals, generous portions and priced very competitively. Much better than the chain option next door.

The food was great and tiramisu was amazing. Sadly though service was very lacking. Felt we were rushed as it was quiet. Waitress came across quite rude. Tap water served warm. Wine not poured. Little touches that elsewhere have made a big difference. Probably wouldn’t return. Expected more from an independent restaurant

I ordered the Raviolis with cheese & butter the portion was v small and the raviolis were sitting on a bed of water not what I expect for nearly £16!!

What an excellent restaurant. On a busy Saturday night, initially not being able to take us (we had not booked), we left but the manager came racing after us offering us a slot. I had pollo pepe nero which was absolutely delicious as were the other three friends meal. Highly recommended.

Reasonably priced, fresh ingredients used, quick service, delicious starters (especially garlic mozzarella bread). I enjoyed the mixed seafood pasta and tiramisu for dessert.

Food was just acceptable but the staff were rude from when we walked in until we left. The waiters and waitresses definitely did not want to be there. They did have a party of about 25 who they were catering for but they did not appear to be over run with requests from them. There is a service charge applied on the bill but due to the service and attitude of staff we declined to pay.

My husband and I had a delicious late lunch early dinner at Signor Valentino. The food was delicious, we shared olives and a pasta dish. Most outstanding was the service, we've been in Cardiff for 3 weeks and I can honestly say this is the best service we are received. Top notch, we will definitely return and we highly recommend.

Dirty wine glasses. Cracked tumblers. Tough calamari. Warm cocktails. Inedible, dry risotto. Veal swimming in grease. Avoid at all costs. A place like this doesn't deserve to survive and is unlikely to do so, thank goodness. Staff are lovely and thoroughly embarrassed.

Came here for dinner in the sun with friends as outdoor seating looked lovely. Was plenty of empty tables outside and inside yet still waited 20 minutes for our drinks. Friend of mine ordered a creamy white sauced dish, was brought out a tomato based dry dish, when she queried it with the waiter he agreed it was the wrong dish but the manager said he would make what she had creamier, brought back out same dish which had cream mixed in so it was less orange. Carbonara dish was the most dry pasta dish i have ever had anywhere, not able to eat, when we told the staff they were very rude to us and at the end gave me my £14 change in 20ps, 10ps, 2ps and pennies. Our bill still cost us over £100 so to have such bad attitude for things that werent our fault would decide for us to never eat here again.

Second time I’ve visited and second time I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the food. Absolutely delicious. Service was prompt, food arrived quickly. Can’t fault! Would recommend.

I don't think they were actually open when a family asked for a table so we went in. They made us welcome, even though they were still setting up. We sat on the balcony overlooking the bay, sun shining and it felt like being on the Mediterranean. My partner had carbonara, I had scallop and prawn spaghetti with a mixed salad. The salad was lovely and enough for two to share. We both had dessert which we don't normally do at lunch but it was so relaxing there we didn't want to move. Will definitely go back

Signor Valentinos serves delicious Italian food, prepared with care and plated beautifully. My risotto was delish! And the service and ambiance were friendly and very attractive. Nice view!

The views of the bay are beautiful. Service was minimal and slow (which apparently amounts to a £3 a head charge) and for the prices food isn't up to scratch. £25 for a sirloin steak which was tough and tasted of dirty chargrill on the outside. Cillieginos in town is the same ball game done much better.

We were initially seated outside. As soon as a table was available inside, we were moved . We were very grateful. Seats inside were more comfortable and we just missed the rain. Food was lovely

We had booked in advanced and hoped we could sit outside on the balcony but a portion of the area was sectioned off so instead they gave us the best table inside which had beautiful views on the bay. We were given a table by the window and thoroughly enjoyed the stunning views over Cardiff Bay. We shared some ciabatta and olives to start, then had a bolognese, spaghetti with scallops and mussels, chicken breast with veg and peppercorn sauce and ravioli with ricotta and spinach. Everyone really enjoyed the food. Will definitely return - would like to go one evening to see the views. Shame that other diners let their young children run around the restaurant and make lots of unnecessary noise. That did spoil it a bit.

It was simply enjoyable and food was so yummy! Ordered ravioli and penne arabiata and both were rich in taste with flavorful seasoning. Margarita pizza and calazoni obergin and mixes vegetables were so good that we ordered it again to extend the joy of taste. The staff was so friendly, and the amazing chef who was from Egypt checked on us for our opinion which obviously was positive at all aspects. Was no doubt a fantastic one and of high recommendation. We arrived without reservation and initially they weren't too sure that they could fit us in. Happily they did find room though, so proceeded to order. Everyone found something they wanted except for the vegetarian in the party - very poor choice I thought, usually a lot more main meal vegetarian choices in an Italian restaurant. Eventually compromised on a spaghetti dish which was ok. Good food in general and service was ok. Not sure I'd return due to the limited amount of vegetarian choice.

The food was good, service was good and lots of buzz on the Saturday night. I will have enjoyed there being more varied pasta dishes but they had a good range of meat dishes, pizzas and pastas.

It was a lovely sunny day so we set out on the terrace. Really nice setting, and the food was amazing. It's one of the best Italian meals I've had outside of Little Italy in New York. Deffo going back when I'm next in town.

Professional service followed be a Fabulous meal to be enjoyed in a light and airy atmosphere.

This is the worst seafood I have ever eaten. Whi cook a delicate fish on roasted potatoes in a swimming pool of water that's meant to be a sauce. The roasted potatoes were soggy and the fish was horrible. The dish looks decent but there was no flavour on none of it. There is no words to describe it.

Cannot praise this place too highly. I have a major health issue which means I can only eat very small meals, and in spite of carrying a card to explain this, many restaurants still make a fuss or interrogate me, and cause huge embarrassment. Not...
