Sichuan House in Islington

Mit Hund in London essen zu gehen, ist höchst herausfordernd. Auch wenn die Engländer an sich hundefreundich sind, in ihre Restaurant lassen sie die Vierbeiner eher ungerne. So landeten wir bei der (eher verzweifelten) Suche nach einem Laden, in dem wir Dumplings essen konnten, auf einer Internetseite, die uns unter anderem dieses Restaurant in Islington empfahl. Wir machten uns auf den Weg und wurde - nach nochmaligem Nachfragen und scheinbar auch nicht ganz gerne - eingelassen und setzen uns mit dem Hund an einen Ecktisch. Doch das Essen war großartig und für Londoner Verhältnisse auch preislich erträglich. Mann und Sohn teilten sich ein 7-Gänge-Menü (für rund 26 Pfund p/P), Tochter und ich aßen Dumplings. Als Gruß-aus-der-Küche erhielten wir die übrigen Kropok. Es gab chinesisches Bier und lustige asiatische Getränke wie Aloe Vera Sagt. Der Service war nett, das Essen kam zügig. Es war bestimmt auch ein gutes Zeichen, dass viele Asiaten hier bestellten/aßen.

Comida aburrida, servicio desinteresado. Llegué temprano a las 5 pm molestando al personal comiendo su propia cena. Me dijeron que fuera al lado. Pedido tripa de remolacha y rodajas de res en aceite de chile, arroz hervido, té chino. Muy poca tripa, 90 % de carne de res, salsa ligeramente enfermiza necesitaba pep, granos de pimienta de Sichuan faltantes. Falta de brillo. Servicio dilatorio, no amable. £ 15. 80 . Nada objetable. Puede conseguir este plato mucho mejor en Ma Po en Lower Road Surrey Quays.

Had a really good experience here, all the food was great and everyone had a great time. Was a little while ago now but I think I had Singapore Noodles which were really good!

Nothing was bad but nothing thing was great. Ok service but not too friendly. Normal prices really and average food. Meat quality was poor as often is and service charge at 10% for average food and service was a bit of a joke.

It was a bit disappointing. The food, although of good quality in terms of ingredients, was very bland in terms of taste. For example, our Salt and Pepper Ribs, was neither salty or peppery ( or indeed much of anything else). The ribs were perfectly cooked and with very little fat, but just meh in taste. The sizzling lamb was succulent, but bland. All we can say, of the two starters and main courses we had, we would order none again. We felt it wasn’t much above the quality of our local takeaway, which doesn’t cut it at this price.

Firstly. the staff are so welcoming and attentive. The food is absolutely delicious. Every little thing I tried was lovely. We ordered the set menu and there was so much food. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Outstanding Sichuan food: terrific salt and pepper squid, kung po chicken, har kao, siu mao, ma po tofu and green beans with minced pork. With a bottle of Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc, beers and sparkling mineral water, the bill came to £104.60 for three (12% service charge). Friendly, efficient service and quiet.

Excellent service, hospitality and food quality. Original varied menu with flexible and friendly staff. Small family gathering catered for extremely well the birthday greeting and accommodation of our own cake was spontaneous and fun. Thanks for an easy, reasonably priced high quality experience.

Unik mat- och smakupplevelse. Otroligt många spännande och goda maträtter som dessutom var prisvärda. Personalen var väldigt tillmötesgående och såg till så att vi fick en bra middag.

Omg not only is the food delicious the service is incredible! During my mother’s visit we spent a lot of money on food we did not enjoy and service that was not up to standard but this place is amazing it checks all the boxes.

Hi. I ordered food through Deliveroo on 8th July at lunch time Sichuan chilli chicken. It was too salty and difficult to eat. It was with skin, bone and too oily and no flavour. It was very expensive. Not value for money. I also ordered chicken with ginger and spring onions. There were hardly chicken pieces inside. It was full of onions and boiled water. It has no flavour. The staff don't understand English when I complained. They are unhelpful. I also complained to Deliveroo and they are asking for feedback and suggested that I should write there review and my experiences. I will not recommend this restaurant for take away or to eat.

If you're after legitimate Chinese food, this is where it's at. It's a really good price and the staff are really welcoming too. I ate an amazing crab and had some potatoes that changed my life. You should do that too. I love this place.

Visited three times already, and I will be returning for sure. The quality of the food is really good and the prices more than decent for what you receive. Proper portions, lovely beef dishes and amazing crispy but not overcooked prawns. As a chef, I rarely find a place to eat outside that makes me happy every time that I finish a meal. Highly recommended, and thank you for your hard work.

I feel a bit mean leaving 3 stars as I struggle with Chinese food and am not really a competent judge. Other half loved it and said he’ll come back when I’m out of town. The menu is enormous and you can have the normal western s&s chicken, duck pancakes etc or venture into pigs ears, frogs legs and intestines. Not for me.

Three visits here now, and consistently good quality each time. Big range of dishes, good vegetarian selection. The duck is particularly good - both 'Peking' and 'crispy aromatic'. Staff are friendly and helpful.

We were a group of 7 and were celebrating a 16th birthday. I searched the internet for a long time. Search criteria included dim sum available in the evening, peking duck and sichuan cuisine. Chinatown did not provide the goods, mainly because dim sum tends to be a lunchtime thing. We ordered around 16 dim sum dishes and a whole peking duck. The very friendly and helpful waitress suggested that we should consume this first before moving on to selecting main course dishes; this was an excellent idea. She was also a great fund of advice when we eventually got round to doing this, and we were not disappointed. We had brought birthday cake, and the restaurant served this for us very nicely. A very memorable evening!
