Shuyo Korean restaurant in Sheffield

Went for dinner as a group of 4 and had the best time. Our waiter Gavin was really polite and helped us with recommendations. He had a laugh with us and taught us how to say cheers on Korean. The food was really flavourful and delicious. We ordered an array between us including ramen, udon, gyoza and bibimbap. The price point was good too. We can't wait to go again and try the BBQ grill menu. I would highly recommend this place.

The restaurant that prides itself on offering chicken halal-certified dishes . The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed meal. The chicken fry was another highlight. Crispy on the outside and succulent inside, it was seasoned just right. The chicken was tender, served over fragrant rice that was infused with delicious flavors. We had a issue with payment because MONZO cards doesn’t work well in there.

The food was just okay. Took a while to have someone take our orders even though there were only 1 other occupied table in the restaurant. I ordered the sizzling short ribs and was disappointed. They were chewy and quite flavourless. The quality of the food definitely did not reflect the price.

If u are Indian it’s not for you sorry to say but except starters nothing was exciting !!’ Extremely disappointed

This is an amazing find, in the New Era area of Sheffield. The food is amazing but it is the staff who make this an unforgettable experience, they really helped me choose what to try and I felt so welcome there, like home from home. I will definitely be adding this restaurant to one of my regular places. I also find it a very comfortable place to do my work and don't feel rushed. Very well done in providing the perfect customer experience.

Tried the Korean rice wine that reminded me of the fermented rice starch we drink in India. Food was really good and authentic. Couldn't try BBQ and hotpot but the overall quality of food was good.

Chicken gyoza was very nice so was the korean fried chicken. The pumpkin croquette and takoyaki were disappointing. It seems like the standard of food is very hit and miss

Delicious food! The first time I liked glass noodles. And I not just liked the dish, I loved it! The seafood pancake was also wonderful - really recommend it. The service was very friendly and attentive.

I ask one Korean to stop racial discrimination in the review. There is nothing wrong with China people opening Korean restaurants, and there are many Chinese restaurants opened by British people in the UK, which are also delicious. It's ok if you think it's not delicious, but don't attack it because of race. Your malicious comments have been reported.

Reasonably priced, good selection of food. You may struggle to find much to eat as a vegetarian (especially if kimchi isn’t your thing!) but the vegetable pancake is an excellent choice.

I am very displeased with chefs and operators running a business without knowing anything about Korean food. I think that the food of a certain country is part of its cultural heritage. We had a lovely meal here. The food is amazing and the service is good. We had Skewered Squid and Chicken Gyozas for starters then spicy seafood and tofu soup and marinated beef and rice for mains. My squid was beautiful. The sauce was delicious and the squid was cooked wonderfully. The Spicy soup was amazing, really really flavourful and a big portion. My partner enjoyed his meal a lot as well. Service was prompt and the food came out pretty quickly. The staff were friendly. The only real downside was the music was terrible (some strange pop rap blend with laughably awful lyrics), but I was pretty engrossed in my incredible food most of the time so it was easy enough to tune it out.

Love the ambiance here, very casual but also well decorated. Service is nice and friendly. Dishes were nice and would say it’s one of the better Korean (even though there aren’t many 😅) restaurants in Sheffield. Would recommend the authentic Korean dishes like bibimbap and stew. Slightly on the dearer side however.

Amazing food. I have visited it twice now and it’s been lovely both times. The service is very lovely and I could eat the food everyday honestly!

One of the best Korean food I've had in while. Especially loved the beef bulgogi, rice cakes and japchae they were soo delicious. Wings were average.

Amazing food wonderful staff. Wish they gave more side dishes for free ! Like in Korea. I didn't like that the lettuce was wet. Staff was very lovely and helpful. Very traditional Korean food.

Mine and my friend’s absolute favourite Korean restaurant. Has the best fried chicken I’ve ever eaten. We had to go back for more. Fresh, moist, crispy and all around delicious. I highly recommend to all my friends and family. Staff are really attentive and lovely. And the chicken is made fresh and still comes in good time. The atmosphere is really nice and aesthetic as well. I love listening to kpop whilst I’m there and jamming along. Just an overall really pleasant experience and will be returning shortly! Thank you!

Visited here for brunch before I relocated out of Sheffield and boy did I wish I’d found this place earlier! The food was amazing with friendly customer service. The price did seem a bit high for the quantity of food - the individual dishes. I’ll return to try out their BBQ and other dishes another day

Super kind staff and a perfect experience being my first time trying Korean food. Prices are reasonable, menu is wide but not overwhelming and the restaurant is easily accessible- really recommend this place to anyone wanting to try Korean food.

The food was average and I felt like I was ripped off. There is also 20% catering VAT added to the bill, which is obviously illegal. This is the first time I have seen a restaurant do this in the UK for decades. A disappointing meal. I hope this boss will improve immediately, otherwise the tax bureau will come to his door sooner or later.

Just an absolutely amazing restaurant! All the food was fantastic- the kimchi is incredible, the bulgogi and tteokbokki were so delicious and the takoyaki were outstanding! If you're looking for authentic Korean this is it! It definitely took me back to Seoul. This was my friend's first time trying Korean food and I'm very glad it was here! The staff are also extremely friendly and gave us complimentary profiteroles after our main meal. Highly recommend!

Had the bbq. Well seasoned. Would be good if the lettuce and rice were unlimited/larger portions. Overall, very good. Will definitely be returning.

The best Korean restaurant in town! Been here three times! And we will definitely be there again and again! The service is fast and friendly. The prices are average and very pleasant. We had pancakes, bibimbap, fried chicken wings and Korean barbecue. All their food is incredibly delicious, but their TarTar fried chicken wings are outstanding! In general, everything is great, these guys will never disappoint you!

We booked the bbq table for two in advance but when we actually arrived there there were no table available. They also didn't know how long it will take to get the table but asked us to wait 15 minutes. At the end, we were so hungry so ended up leaving the place. I feel like the management is bad, i would suggest don't receive the reservation if you don't know u can reserve the table. It's a shame management

We came in a second time on New Years and realized late that they were closing earlier than usual and felt so terribly sorry for coming in 30 minutes before close! But they remembered us from our first visit and were so kind to us - the food was amazing once again and so were Service and the Prices! Definitely the #1 korean restaurant in the city!

Me and my friend were on vacation in Sheffield and found this restaurant on our way through the city. Such a nice and sweet service team, DELICIOUS food and all in all an absolutely great restaurant and the best food experience we had in whole england!

Was up in Sheffield on behalf of Luton Town to collect 3 points from the Blades. Popped in pre match and what a find. Superb chicken wings but what struck me most is how good all the food looked and how happy the other diners were. Proper fresh ingredients and chefs working really hard. We were also given 4 free profiteroles which was a lovely touch. People of Sheffield - support this fantastic restaurant.

Went in for a late lunch on a weekday and was helped in (with my pram) by the friendly staff. There were a few students but generally in was quiet (though the music was a tad loud). The food was quick and hot and tasty - I'll come again!

Enjoyed everything. The squid starter was tender and tasty, the fried chicken was the best I've had, both our mains were really good, fresh and tasty.

Excellent service, lovely fresh food. The Dakgalbi is nice and spicy and an excellent portion for two. Great location with other bars and restaurants in the area.

We wanted to try Korean food and we found it on Google. They accommodated the pot soup and bibimbap for gluten free diet requirements for my husband. Their Korean KFC chicken is halal and a must order but it's not gluten free so I had it all for myself haha

Can honestly say I’ve never enjoyed a meal out this much. The food was delicious and portion sizes are generous. Couldn’t recommend more.

Happened to stumble across this little gem when looking for something to eat for lunch /dinner Was very quiet only me and my partner and one other customer in but still atmosphere was ok , chilled ad relax gave us a good chance to talk. Ordered the sharer, came pretty quick and was wonderful ! Generous portion and decent price … food quality was really good ! Will definitely be back whenever we are close by 100% recommend this place !

Ok so how did I just pay £14.90 for 9 'Korean fried pieces of chicken with sauce' main meal and get 9 half chicken WINGS with one bite on each? WHAT. A. MASSIVE. RIP OFF. How dare they not say they're wings at that price? It's written on the menu as if you are getting boneless pieces of chicken like goujons or thigh sized fillets sort of thing (have they switched to chicken wings to save money or what?) I ordered a rice, to go with it, the rice dipped in sauce ended up being my actual meal. My soft drink was £3.20 too and served luke warm. Definately not bothering with this place again. My husband burst out laughing. It was rather ridic. It's a good job it was my meal mainly and not shared. What a massive disappointment. I'm still hungry too. Atmosphere was very quiet and boring. No pictures up, no interesting lighting. Total rip off experience. Not sure what was going on.

My favourite fried chicken I’ve had anywhere, it’s so crispy and the meat is juicy and flavourful. My only complaint would be the beef in the bibimbap was a bit fatty which I personally don’t like but overall it’s a new go-to restaurant for me

The cheese ttaebokki was my favourite ~ it was made vegetarian for me. Kimchi pancake was also very tasty. Good vegetarian options. Will visit again ~~

I was sooo happy to find this place! My husband brought me because I used to live in South Korea and miss the food. It was definitely very authentic and the waiter was really polite and friendly. We both loved it and can't wait to visit again soon.

This is the second Korean restaurant that I have tried so far in Sheffield. Gingseng which is located near Revolution Sheffield is my go-to Korean restaurant. This restaurant definitely offers an authentic Korean cuisine experience, they offer authentic Korean cuisine from dumplings to noodles to Korean BBQ experience. The portion size are generous, the restaurant is clean. If you want to try new Korean restaurant in Sheffield then I would definitely recommend this restaurant to Korean food lover. The only downside is that they only have one toilet onsite.

Absolutely wonderful! Such a lovely hidden gem in Sheffield, Came here only because there was no other appetising places and We love it, Bimbimbap is soft, Well spiced, Sauce is amazing too! for the price of only £11.50 its wonderful, the BBQ is wonderful too, this place has a very nice aura around it. Would go again if im visiting Sheffield. A definite recommend to many people.

Great service, food was really tasty and the kimchi was great. The bibimbap was good, the KFC fried chick was mega, probably the crispiest (is that a word?) fried chicken I have had in a long time. Good choice of beers, soft drinks and soju. Atmosphere was a little muted. But all in all a decent lunch.

Amazing food and great options for sharing too. The kimchi was nice and homemade which is always a good sign. A bit on the pricier side but it’s worth every penny.

If you are Korean, expecting to have an authentic meal, you will be disappointed. This appears to be all run by Chinese people. Dolsot Bibimbap was a failure on all levels from the choice of rice, vegetables and sauce. Kimchi soup was mediocre. The pumpkin crocchette, which is not necessarily a Korea dish, was the best.

The food is so amazing (the taste of tofu soup is too mild for me). The price is reasonable,my friends and I (5 people) shared the bill and it's around £13 each. I like the musics, the vibe and customer service a lot. I would be this place regular for sure.

My wife and I have been here twice since it has opened and have loved it both times. The food is of amazing quality and the staff have always been very friendly. The only downside right now is that they unfortunately don't take card payments at the moment but hopefully that will be fixed shortly. Little expensive but overall very yummy and lovely polite staff/ nice and clean. Very happy with everything. Food wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be. Would love to have more spice but I understand not alot of people in the UK like spice so that Is understandable. Make sure you bring cash. Saw a review complaining about staff, honestly staff was very lovely in my opinion. Don't know why people are complaining about staff being chinese.. food tastes like authentic Korean food. Pains me to give this place 3 stars. The service was very quick and polite, and the drinks and mains come out very fast. The oxtail soup was delicious, however the bibimbap was... Not sure if this is supposed to happen, but the bowl was piping hot, which then burnt a layer of rice onto the inside of the bowl, whilst also making other bits of rice caramelised? Other than that the toppings were great. Bear in mind you have to go up to the counter to pay. Good price for the amount of food, although the card machine broke when we were there so bring cash in case. Will definitely be going back again but with a different menu choice.

This bibimbap worths every single penny!

Just like many of these places in Sheffield calling themselves Korean cuisine, they are definitely NOT. It’s open by Chinese people who do their version that they know in China and cater mainly for students. There is no Korean BBQ yet and after this experience, I’m not sure I want to try. Cold decor without any style. Menu with very limited dishes. Sliced pork soup was somewhat underwhelming and tasted diluted as well as very little meat and tofu for £11.20. Korean pancake was so doughey. Where are the vegetables and crispiness? Service was so so and not very friendly. Unfortunately, it’s another venue to try and forget. After receiving a response from the owner below, I may add that my point is proved about your so called "friendliness". Not a professional reply but more of spite. Let's see how long your business will last!

Today go with my friends to this restaurant, it’s absolutely delicious here, udon is nice, and the best bibimbap i v ever tried.

I had the rabokki- it was delicious, creamy and just the right amount of spicy the noodles were a good texture and the portion was huge for the money. The staff were very kind and the atmosphere was casual and was a lovely place to have dinner with a friend. I am eager to visit again to try more from the menu. I look forward to coming again

The staff were so helpful and answered all our questions promptly (that's a big help when you are not an expert in Korean food 😅) 🌸The decorations are still not finished so we will be back later on to see the end result and try the BBQ 😉😋
