Shu Xiangge Chinese Hot Pot in City of London, Westminster

Spontaan naar binnen gelopen en niet teleurgesteld. De bediening was zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het proces werd goed uitgelegd, en we we werden prima geholpen met de keuze van ons eten. Hierdoor hadden we een goede balans van verschillende gerechten, en ook niet teveel. We hadden aangegeven dat we niet zulke grote eters zijn. De bouillon was goed gekruid, voor mensen die niet gewend zijn aan pittig eten misschien te pittig, maar er was ook een mogelijkheid om mildere versie te bestellen. Al met al een leuke ervaring

This was a horrific unpleasant meal. The service was belittling and irritating. The food was overpriced and awful tasting. Overall we felt really unwelcomed. The "new" manager would not leave us alone, kept coming up to our table to explain everything to us even after we told him we eat hotpot regularly. Eventually we told him to leave us alone to eat in peace. After our food arrived we came to the conclusion the noodles were a horrible texture, the cucumber slices we ordered were over priced and tasted weird. When we finished we told the manager our hotpot was too spicy when we ordered less hot, he then continuously told us that we couldn't handle spice we were incorrect, and that if we went to china it would be normal, when in fact one of our group had spent a while in china and another was from the Caribbean.

Although in tourist China Town, this place is filled with Chinese people which shows the food is going to be good. A few of the dishes might not be to everyone's taste but watch what the experienced are ordering and how they eat to get the best of the place.

Abandoned by the staff. No refill, no bowls, no drinks. Rude staff. No recommendable at all. Food was ok.

Really shocked by the poor reviews. I thought this place was a great first experience of hot pots! The staff were incredibly efficient and welcoming, explained the whole process to us and talked us through the menu. It was honestly fantastic and we will definitely go again. Food was great, really enjoyed it!

Staff are rude, unhelpful and need to get off their phones. On reflection it seems they are writing themselves 5star reviews. The toilets are disgusting. Expensive small plates of poor quality produce. This is not Chinese spicy. Not at all. There are actually a lot of cheaper Hot Pot restaurants in the area, where the broths taste nice and the food is fresh.

I can eat spice at a high level and this was just right, if you say you can eat spice at a high level dont come to a chinese restaurant expecting spice levels for spice newbies. Chinese spice level and what you think is spicy is different, so dont leave a bludy review if your tongue cant handle it. Prices are cheaper than other hotpot places, dont complain if you cant afford it.

Would not recommend. Extremely expensive for tiny portions. You even have to pay extra for sauces. Spicy broth far too spicy that it goes beyond a joke. I can take spice at a high level - this was just ridiculous. Staff stand around on their phones. Massive rip off - go somewhere else. Don’t spoil your day by coming here.

Nous n'avons pas essayé le plat traditionnel hot pot. Nous avons préféré des nouilles car nous n'avions pas fort faim. Les nouilles étaient très bonnes mais l’accueil laisse à désirer. Pour les nouille, bon rapport qualité prix.

后悔去吃之前没有提前来这里看一下评论，哎 ……2个人120不便宜了，菜确实一般，回家胃痛拉肚子，就是一锤子买卖。好像两家分店是相似的问题，不过有一家可以刷卡了（不是中国城的那个）。

Premier experience jamais d'un hot pot chinois. Il faut le faire une fois dans la vie ! Ingrédients simple mais bons. Choix des deux immersions, épicée ou douce, mais attention, la partie épicée est bien, bien épicée ! Bière chinoise disponible. Service correct.

Attirés par le type de cuisine qui nous semblait original de l’extérieur. Mauvais accueil, explications légères ... produits bas de gamme, porc surgelé présenté roulé ....ultra épicé, pourtant nous avions demandé les suggestions de plats les moins corsés. tables minuscules avec les fils électriques très limites en sécurité au dessus du pied de tables.... aucune ventilation, vous repartirez parfumé au bouillon pimenté. Pour terminer, paiement espèce obligatoire et prestation hors de prix . 90£ pour 3 avec 1 bière, les plats sur la photo uniquement. A fuir.... dommage d’autres restaurants très alléchants se comptent en dizaines aux alentours mais sont vites pris d’assaut.

Nous sommes Entrés dans ce restaurant sans trop savoir à quoi nous attendre... et avons commandé un peu à l’aveugle .... nous étions les seuls européens dans le restaurant ... après une légère inquiétude en voyant les plats arriver nous avons au final dégusté des aliments inhabituels et garderons un bon souvenir Attention nous n’avons pas tous la même notion du « épicé ». Nous avions demandé Middle mais heureusement le serveur a corrigé et nous a mis soft. Für Europa ein relativ guter Hot Pot allerdings überteuert wie alles in London im Verhältnis zum Kontinent. An der Qualität ist nichts auszusetzen. Es gibt keine Nudeln aber dafür Reis. Sehr ungewöhnlich. Bedienung ist sehr bemüht den Andrang abzuarbeiten und ist immer freundlich. Am Einfang muss man normalerweise warten und bekommt eine Nummer. Das Lokal wird überwiegend von Chinesen bzw. Chinesischestämmigen jungen Leuten besucht, was ich als gutes Zeichen werte. Für London sicherlich ein gutes Lokal, in China würde es nicht lange überleben.

Went to London for a day trip with family 2 adults and 2 kids(we are from Manchester). Decided to go for a hot pot since we get bored of normal Chinese meal. So we chose this place. I have to say this is the most expensive meal ever I’ve pay but you walk out the restaurant still with a empty stomach!!! Why??!!! Because everything is expensive and the tiniest portion ever. Half of lettuce £5.50, 8 piece of spam £5.50, 6 tiny calamari tail cost around £10.... our meal end up paying £130 but everyone stomach only 10% load up!!! We end up going to wasabi for sushi for another meal straight after. I ain’t the type of person who keep checking the price for what we eat but this meal is really.... (not even bother to think how to decribe it...) just bad bad bad bad bad, I have to give at least 1 star for rating other wise, this restaurant doesn’t even worth 1 star!!

Cibo discreto da un menù poco decifrabile (per lo meno, da uno come me che non aveva mai provato il cibo thai). Il mio piatto era piccantissimo (nonostante non fosse indicato con i peperoncini sul menù). Un pochino troppo caro (56 pounds per due). Forse avrei dovuto provare gli altri ristoranti che Chinatown offre.

Very disappointed by this hot pot place. The soup base was way too salty. Over priced for horrible service, I have never been to a hot pot place where I had to ask for the strainer to scoop out cooked food.

Well, not much to say.. Hot!! Yes, super hot!! A wide range of ingredients to choose, nice place, great for big groups to try as many things as you can.

Went here with a friend when I was in London recently. I love all kinds of Asian foods but had never tried hot pot. This place seemed very popular as it was really crowded and I believe we were the only non-Asians there which I took as a good sign. Warning, they only take cash and the bill be higher than you anticipate so make sure you go with plenty of cash. We made the mistake of not bringing enough cash and the bill was more than we had. There was a long line at the ATM on the street and we had a show to see. Luckily, the restaurant agreed to keep our mobile phone until we could come back after the show with cash. That was awesome and I don't know a lot of restaurants that would do that. Also, I love spicy food and can usually handle a lot of spice but this was almost too much for me. So be careful if you are sensitive to spicy foods.

I thought i was good with spicy food, wait till you try this place. We had mixed brooth (half regular, half spicy), beef, lamb, chicken and some veggies. Meat was fresh, brooth was tasty (yes i tasted the non spicy one like soup :)). However I needed to stop using the spicy one after. Thats another level of hot. They were nice enough to remind us about the ‘cash only’ upfront. Menu was a bit on the pricey side. A nice experience though. Attentive and nice service.

Tables are all in 4 but we managed to get 6 around one. If you haven't been to an authentic hotpot before then ask for help. Basically put all the ingredients in together and enjoy! This is always busy so it's best to book. There is a limited wine list but you go there for the atmosphere and the food. Its an experience that I recommend and its medium London prices.

I have walked passed the restaurant a number of times and always saw Chinese diners from the window. My friends and I decided to give it a try. We had a hot pot (one half spicy broth and the other half not spicy) and ordered a selection of vegetables, seafood and meet. Food portion was decent compared to what you get in China Town. Generally there was nothing wrong with food. Would recommend to go there with a number of people to share various dishes they offer. Service wise, do not expect to get services from high street restaurants. Payment is cash only so have some with you.

Authentic and well constructed hotpot recipes. The spicy soup is not for beginners. They have a good selection of raw vegetables and meats to cook yourself. It is a treat to see brains always in stock as they seem to have gone out of fashion at many restaurants. Arrive early as it is always busy.

Have been to this restaurant 5 times since it opened last year. It was a surprise how authentic the taste and how fresh their ingredients are. Definitely a great place to dine with friend!!

We paid at least £98 for 2 people for lunch with only 2 meat dishes (about 20 pieces of white fish and beef) and a variety of vegetables. Food was rather average, but didn't taste fresh at all. Service was touch and go with waiters...
