Great little pub made us feel very welcome 😁 just popped in for some football on TV and a couple of games of darts

Absolutely brilliant find. Great beer. Great music. Great barmaid. Pool table. What more do you need ?

Nice selection of ales, spirits. Friendly chatty people. Warm surroundings recently refurbished. Great place for a pint and a chat.

Called in this week just as it opened. Doesn't look much from outside but it is the oldest inn in Carnforth. Lovely bar fittings. Nice selection of beers. Friendly. Clean loos. Maybe lighting just a little too bright

Local community pub always worthy of support. Had a lick of paint since some previous pictures, but not an obvious identity and can easily pass by not noticing it’s a pub.

Went in with my partner had couple of drinks reasonably priced but service was second to none big shout out to Lauren behind bar who gives me and Fiona a lift to Bolton le sands when we couldn't get taxi thanks Lauren you are a credit to pub

This pub is an essential visit when in the carnforth town drinking end of Tuesday 9th April 2024 Today, we again visited what is an essential visit for real ale drinkers when in this town, as in our last few visits, nothing in this pub has altered, and there are 4 really well-kept, scrumptious hand pumped ales on Keep up the good work all involved

Came up for the Easter weekend to our caravan first time in good choices of drinks and friendly locals, will deffinatly return

Walked down from Truckhaven and received a warm welcome in this atmospheric pub. The Pod Popping Porter from Westgate Brewery is very drinkable. Will definitely return in the future when in the area.

A good choice of draught beers and helpful staff. Ps it doesn't sell food.

Beautiful pub in the old fashioned tradition, very good landlord, friendly customers, wide range of beer.

Good pub, ales, lagers and spirits. Lots of rooms if you want to be separate, main bar with TV as well. Worth a visit! Some parking round back I think, but on-street parking available too.

Loved it really nice bar man so friendly cosy inside.

Popped in on are way home too the railway station for a drink,great choice of real ales and a decent cider a great atmosphere and a good service.

All newly refurbished, great drink selection at reasonable prices, it’s our true local, geographically and atmospherically.

Came here for bike rally, lovely traditional pub with real ales, staff were really friendly and very helpful sorting transport for us..will be back next year.

Lovely friendly pub, looks great now it's been done up and looks like the beer garden is under improvement too. Hope people support it, we will definitely be back.

Lovely couple of hours in the shovel. Last time I was up this way the pub was closed and under renovation. The new landlady is a fantastic host and very friendly as were the locals that were already in when I arrived. I was made to feel like a local. Defo be back. Thank you.😍

Good local pub. Good beer. Good prices. Has Sky Sports. Friendly staff. Been recently renovated and it is a huge improvement on what it was before the lock down closure in 2020. Give it a try if you haven't been for a while.

Great place to meet locals and have a good pint.

Lovely welcoming fire. Friendly staff and great value for money regards food. All Covid restrictions firmly in place. Will return soon.

I've given it 3 stars for the historic side of the pub and the stories that go with it. Be warned if you have a sensitive nose then pass it by theres a really strong funky smell. The landlord tried to shortchange us too. Money left on counter he took a fiver back but we spotted it! We got it back. It's very old very tired very run down but still has a character about it. Stories of a donkey standing at the bar. Maybe that's why theres still a funky smell

Dogs welcome but under control please. regulars are welcoming and friendly . good cask beers and the place is starting to look a lot better now some improvements are being made. All in all friendliest pub in town and reasonable prices.

A little run down but it's being all done up

This is on my doorstep so have called in a couple of times. The place smells like a wet dogs been living in there. It was that bad last time we actually poured our drinks away and left. Needs a clean up.

Sorry but the atmosphere is dry and the beer choice is sub standard! I won't go back as I prefer a good chat to anyone in the pub and the bar girl set the tone as she poured my pint and rolled her eyes!!!! As I said. Awful atmosphere and far better pubs with in minutes

Doesn't look much but the folks are very welcoming, the craic is good and the cask ale is spot on at keen prices. Apparently got a major refurbishment coming up.
