We had the full breakfast complete with tea and toast. It is not for the slightly peckish. It was lovely and the sausages some of the best we've tasted. It was all well cooked and very well presented. The cafe and garden centre have lovely views and plenty of parking. We especially loved the black pudding which we assume was from Stornoway as it is so distinctive in flavour. Well priced too, you get what you pay for.

Went for lunch with friend. Although the actual meal was nice the cake was another story. Lemon sponge was so hard the fork couldn't handle it! Swapped for a lemon drizzle which was nice. My friend got a "fresh homemade dough ring ". It was so dry it crumbled and sooked the saliva from your mouth like a sponge. When the waitress ( who was very lovely) took it to the chef, she returned and said to my friend " Chef said there is nothing wrong with it and it was fresh made yesterday" ! 😂😂 Not the first time visit, cake was rock hard on that date too, but it will be the last.

Lovely friendly place with freshly cooked food. Bonus for dog owners- plenty of indoor space. A real find. Handy for the ferry at Hunters Quay too.

Good food only complaint is the road up to it trying to avoid potholes....wondering if they have CCTV, watching carpark

It might look a wee bit dilapidated from the outside but never judge a book by its cover...the Shoreside Cafe (with shop and nursery) in Kirn near Dunoon is an absolute gem..great food (the Cajun chicken wrap with sweet potato fries is sublime! The jacket potatoes substantial and filling), great prices, friendly service and views to die for over Holy Loch..to paraphrase Arnie...I'll be back.. again & again & again and am planning on having their Sunday roast very soon!

Amazing little cafe and a must visit - myself and my family had coffee and cake and it was great - they have a great selection of cake and they also have milk alternatives - will be back to try the other cakes but I loved the lemon drizzle!

Marvelous honesty tea tent set up by local school students in a fantastic setting. This was the most unexpected treat on our cycle tour along Jura's coast

We were back in Helensburgh after a 2 year gap and had to return to The Upper Crust, believing it couldn't be as good and fun as last time. We were not disappointed at all and had a great evening along with the other diners. It is quirky and different, and the food is excellent with a good choice on the menu and specials board. The owners, Roger and Mary run it themselves, with Mary in the kitchen and Roger front of house. Roger is so entertaining and the whole experience is more than just a meal. We are normally private people, just wanting to enjoy our own company, but have never been anywhere else where you relax so easily and end up talking with fellow diners - all down to Roger and his manner. None of us there that night wanted to leave, and we all stayed far longer than expected - again, all down to Roger and his great company. It was one of the best nights we've had in a long time and we'll be back as soon as we can! Thank you Roger and Mary

Absolutely cracking place with great ambience, lovely staff and lovely food. Can’t recommend the Smash Burger highly enough; I’m a huge burger fan and this is one of the overall best I’ve ever had! Beat the American ‘originals’ hands down!

Perfect evening and Gabriel was so welcoming. I popped in earlier in the day, had a chat and booked a table. The food was delicious and so authentic. It is a small venue and all the diners were socialising with other groups. A unique restaurant. Gabriel - sorry I have taken so long to post this....it was in my drafts. My son is coming over at Easter and I have told him not to miss dining with you.
