Fitted us in last minute, the service was really friendly. Little Mo's street food never disappoints

Fabulous food. Three of us had the steak pie, the other the fish. Superb! The service was excellent and it is always packed in there, which shows the food is amazing.

Went for lunch to this very pretty pub..food was good and imaginative.. outdoor seating and a beer garden..large local following and was very busy 👍

Was told can order food outside so found a table only to be told once ordering no more order being taken even though locals where still ordering

Lovely quality food - in this instance Sunday lunch for five. Three real ales available. Dog and cyclist! friendly pub. Lovely relaxed atmosphere even though very busy. Highly recommend.

Be prepared to book ahead if you want to eat in the restaurant, as it is extremely popular. Lots of covered outdoor seating though, ideal for al fresco dining and/or drinking. Dogs are allowed in the bar area and in the beer garden (ours can't go past without dragging us in). The food and service are exceptional and the staff are lovely - friendly and professional.

We have alway enjoyed coming to the ship aground while we are on holiday but this year was such a disappointment. We came on Saturday 27th July and we had to wait 1 and a half hours for our food to arrive. Once it came it was lovely but it would have been good if someone had warned us about the long wait for food. The waitress was lovely and was obviously taking the flack from some costumers. Poor girl it wasn’t her fault. We will return as we are hoping this was just a one off and we ve always loved our nights out here.

Overall this place was... fine. We mostly went for the food - which was okay. We went on what appeared to be a very busy day. We ordered at 6pm. We were told half hour wait on food but didn't get served until just after 7pm. We mentioned that some of the chips were missing and were told it was just coming. 35 minutes later, when everyone had finished eating, I had to go back inside to find out where the chips were - when they were handed to me immediately. The food was mostly okay and tasty enough but very small portion sizes for the cost. The waiting service was poor, sadly. Though I did feel sorry for the waitress as she seemed stressed and not that happy. The bar did seem to also be running out of non alcoholic options. No non alcoholic cider which we were told they usually have, and they ran out of J2O too but that's fine - just a bit disappointing for the designated driver! Overall, I imagine on a quiet day, it's a fairly nice place. But our experience was that the service really let this establishment down, especially given that restaurant prices are being charged for fairly standard pub food.

Seemed an average pub, three cask ales so a choice but all very similar ABV and type, Listed as a gastro pub but didn't try the food. The other two pubs in the village were closed so couldn't make a comparison

Charming, friendly and delicious food. Apart from one particularly rambunctious antipodean present when we visited, the atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant.

Its ok. The tall young kid behind the bar is a bit of a twerp and they dont really like you having fun in there but that apart all good.

Arrived 6pm on a Thursday.Car park full sun was shining. Busy at bar but orderly and staff competent.Outdoor seating with umbrellas offering shade.Meal arrived enjoyed my second visit and will return.

We booked this restaurant for an anniversary meal and the pub, food and staff were amazing throughout. We spoke to the owner, a chef by trade who designs the menu, he explained all of the dishes and food etc. The service was impeccable and the food was served in very generous portions. When the food arrived it was presented so well and tasted amazing. The steak was one of the best one of our party had ever eaten and the cheesecakes were to die for. The staff made us feel so welcome, the atmosphere in the pub was perfect, with the lighting and music set just right. The staff were extremely friendly and would I visit here again? - Absolutely! A lovely busy local pub with a great atmosphere. All the food we had was very tasty and the steak was cooked to perfectly as ordered. Very nice place for a meal or a few drinks.

As locals, we like to come and enjoy the pub but for the last 4 times, they’ve either stopped serving food or they’re too busy trying a new menu in the main restaurant. The most latest incident was us being handed a menu and being told food is still being served and then going u to the bar 5 minute later to be told they’d stopped serving. We really like the food in the pub, but we’ve decided not to return which is a shame because it’s the locals in the winter months that keeps these establishments going.

Incredible pub food. My fussiest Aunty give it a solid 10, this is unheard of. The staff are lovely also and we had good weather and we’re able to sit outside. Dog friendly a massive plus. Highly recommended

Food very good, was craving Fish and Chips and they didn't come much better.

If you’re planning on booking here with a large group don’t even bother. I’ve attended 2 birthday meals here in the past couple of weeks and it was an absolute shambles. The first time was horrid, we waited over an hour for our food and then they kicked us off the table after 2 hours because our ‘time was up’ even though it was entirely their own fault. The second time our server was insanely rude, we felt incredibly rushed and she kept hovering by with her notebook making snide comments. We felt very unwelcome and it completely ruined my grandads birthday meal as it put everyone in a bad mood. The food is decent but over priced and nothing special that you can’t get elsewhere. They were also under prepared and were out of stock on most of the drinks, my nan had one glass of rose and then they ran out 🙄

Popped in here on a Thursday, late afternoon and the place was busy. However the lovely team squeezed us in and we are so glad they did. What a choice if menus from pub grub, to diner, to a delicious selection of specials. What a choice for vegans, meat eaters or fish eaters. We opted for burgers and chose the pulled pork option. We weren't disappointed, the portions were a good size, the food hot, freshly cooked and served on hot plates. The drinks were good too. The place is spotless, the staff can't do enough for you and they are dog friendly in the garden and bar too.

We booked last minute for a table of 4 as we were visiting the area, with our dog. Luckily we did book as it was full. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was fab too. If we are back we will definitely come here again!

The food was absolutely amazing. Chef really got the balance of the flavours on the dishes. It was busy and vibrant. Good selection of drinks. Menu was short but varied with different prices. So perfect for a dining experience. Go there with your friends or family. Or even alone! It's that good. 10 out of 10

We've been here many times, and quite honestly, it's the best place locally to eat. The food is exquisite. Simply delicious. The staff are very friendly. It is a dog friendly pub as well, which is lovely, as you don't get many pub/restaurants that welcome dogs. If you are looking for a place to eat, deffo pay the ship aground a visit.

Stopped here on Good Friday on the off chance there would be room.was told they could squeeze us in, and boy, we weren't disappointed. Big surprise, all food locally sourced fish meat veg etc. Service good. food surperb and ambience good. Would highly recommend this place, can't wait to return in the coming weeks. Avoid disappointment phone make a reservation. Also, buck the trend use cash help these local businesses in the cost of living crisis.

A good friendly pub (dog friendly in the bar) with good food - choice of pub grub, a better menu and specials board. We visited midweek on a cool wet day and it got very busy soon after we arrived so booking a table is advised if not arriving early.

Service is first class! Food is excellent! I would highly recommend you stop in here at the Ship Aground Pembrey, the team couldn’t do more to make us feel at home, answer all our questions and followed up with service and great food! The wife is vegan and had multiple options and the staff could advise and accommodate on all her questions. Big thank you to the team at Ship Aground Pembrey!!!!!

Popped in here on the off chance for some food and couldn’t have been more pleased. Atmosphere was lovely, friendly staff & we got chatting to the owner. Food was hearty home made meals, tasty and big portions. Couldn’t fault here, highly recommended

We arrived without booking and they were extremely busy but they were so accommodating and friendly. The food was fantastic. Would definitely recommend it.

A group of 8 of us went for a meal last night and ate from the Christmas menu. Starter: baked camembert, Main: turkey with veg & gravy, Dessert: cheesecake. I have never been to the pub before and can say I would definitely return. The food was absolutely delicious and we all throughly enjoyed every mouthful!! The staff were really friendly and attentive without being obtrusive. There were no delays/long waits being served the drinks or food courses. The table setting was nice and you didn’t feel crowded by other people there. There was a lovely atmosphere and no loud music which meant we were able to have conversations easily with one another. I was impressed with the whole evening and would definitely return 👍🏻

We popped in after a beach walk with the dogs, we had booked earlier. We were so surprised at the quality of food like a gastro pub and fresh fish was absolutely delicious, with olive tapenade and samphire! My husband had battered cod and my son, the chicken burger, that was no ordinary one! Thoroughly, enjoyed our meal and atmosphere, the dogs were with us , so sat in the bar and couldn’t recommend enough. Landlord only recently, there and a chef, you can tell! Thanks for a lovely meal.

Lovely place and the server we had was super but I didn't catch her name unfortunately! Sat in bar as we had the dog. Both had beef brisket pie off the specials which was 🤌 delish and plenty of it. Server came back to ask if we would like more gravy also which is a refreshing change from having to ask as in most places (of course we had more it was lush) all in all really nice place and meal. Would definitely recommend.

Service here wasn't the best staff were not very friendly and not very attentive even though it was a quiet evening. Food was overly priced for the quality of food they put out. The chips were frozen chips and I don't think a lot of the food was homemade. Wouldn't return.

Wow the food was good!! Took the family here for a meal out and couldn't believe how nice the food was. It was so well seasoned and the gravy I had was delicious I could have just drank it. No corners were cut if it said beef pie you got beef pie not a few chunks of meat and a massive bit of pastry like some places do. Portion sizes were absolutely spot on as were the meal prices. Actually think I'm going to eat here tomorrow as well. Down points, slightly to dark dining room, no kids menu just chicken nuggets and chips.

We called fairly late on a Sunday and we fitted in for a roast very last minute. The food was so delicious, proper roast dinner with tonnes of veg and extra gravy, the service was great, we didn't feel rushed even though they were busy and needed our table back. And amazing price too.

Just finished an impressive lunch here while staying nearby for our holiday. I understand the owners/landlords have recently changed, the menu is different from what were expecting - that's not a negative! We had starters of baked brie and the special of whitebait, then pork belly and beef brisket pie for mains. The pie was particularly delicious, properly full of tender beef, and very reasonably priced. Colcannon mash was cheesy and hearty comfort food at its best. Our total came to around £50 for an alcoholic drink and 2 courses each for 2 people, which I think was great value for the quality of food we had.
