We ordered a takeaway delivery to our caravan park (Morfa Bychan) on Saturday August 24th. It was the first time we had used this place. The food was cooked and delivered in great time, arrived nice and hot and it was delicious. I’ll not certainly be using them again.

Since we were staying at a nearby caravan park, it was a bit difficult to explain how to find us for delivery, so we went to pickup out take away food ourselves. The restaurant has a few small tables for dine-in, but it seems their biggest business is take-away. The food was tasty, but there were limited options for vegetarians. It would be nice to have to vegetables in the dishes. We had the vegetable biriyani, which was good, and a couple of other vegetable dishes, but the King Prawn Korma was just a load of sauce and a few prawns. Not a vegetable in sight to fill up the dish.

All the food was fresh and flavorful. Clean simple dining room which was nice and quiet on a Thursday night. We’ll definitely be back.

Good food but £3.50 for a can of coke is crazy.

Great food just be aware £3.50 for a can of coke. Possibly the only reason not to return.

Usually I don’t prefer to leave bad review for any business. But, just been there and in one sentence I can say “Even if they offer free food I would not bother to visit them”. Portion is small (not worth the price), not tasty, in my Biriyani I had to use microscope to look for the meat and many more issues. I hope that enough topic worth improving massively.

Awful service waited 50 mins didn't get served so left ..although place was clean and tidy service was awful and only one table had been served lots of people before us not served so left and had takeaway elsewhere

Amazing authentic Indian food, eat in and takeaway

We ordered chicken korma and there was definitely chillies added to our meal we are boiling hot, can't move and sweating

Ordered food tonight and have to say it was brilliant. Curries full of flavour, best one we've had for a while. Couldn't fault it.

We used the restaurant and it was great. We were able to take our own drinks which kept the bill very love. Great food everyone's plates were cleaned.

Food good, but it is expensive compared to other options, a meal for 4 easily reaching £50, wheras will be less than £30 in the chinese takeaway. That said if cost isn't an issue for you, you will enjoy it.

Fantastic meal! Firstly, I ordered for a specific time, and it was spot time, with brilliant service from a very friendly driver. Secondly, the food was tasty, plentiful, and non-greasy. Highly recommend Shilam, and will definitely order again. **I got the option on email to review via Just Eat, but everything I tried, it couldn't download!

Vegetable biriani was delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful

Very average curry, overpriced for what you get. Two prawns for £6.50 as a starter is way too much. Only had 5 small pieces of lamb in my curry which was £9.50. won't order again.

Just stopping in the area for a night and came across this little gem. Best Chicken biryani I've ever eaten. Superb

last two time the chips comes second may be more time fried hard tasteless and soak in oil. the jafrezi is hit and miss too. not happy with

Drove 2hrs to Aberystwyth found the place in a dingy industrial estate then told they don't do eat in.Why have it on your website.looks like a workman's cafe.

Really excellent food, well seasoned and very tasty. Better than others in Aberystwyth. Lamb rogon was lovely.

Was visiting Aberystwyth on holiday and fancied an Indian takeaway. Chose Shilam based on the majority of positive reviews. Food was fantastic, from the main dishes to the Naan bread we couldn’t fault it. Highly recommend!

Lost the order this time. The other time they just got it wrong, the time after that it was just basically a sloppy mess and more oil than food. Only reason we are using them tonight is we fancies a takeaway other than pizza or Chinese and Aberystwyth is not overly blessed with lots of Tandoori places to choose from. Totally fed up with poor food and really poor service from them.

This place deserves a 5 star rating. Because... Its not a "sit down joint" so basically judging on quality of food and service alone it is of 5 star quality. My partner has a sensitive tum, and is a perfect litmus test of good or bad food. I also had no ill effects. Generally good, sufficient portions of authentic, delicious Indian cuisine. Highly recommend!!! We walked away from a higher rated venue in Aberystwyth due to poor attitude and attention, run by kids, tired of waiting and being basically ignored. We're so glad we found this instead for future meals. Thank you!

Really tasty food, great service every time.

Amazing. Shilam has its food cooked in a very clean setting as it's in an open plan kitchen. You can see it when you walk in to place your orders. Please check it out if ever you're in the area!

Just nasty. It gave me food poisoning back in October because the chicken wasn't cooked properly. Their idea of a Masala is a brown sludge with congealed onions stuck in there with barely marinated chicken, would not recommend.

Just had the worst curry ever! In all my life I don’t think I have ever failed to finish a curry. Usually polish off my wife’s leftovers as well but not this time. My Jalfrezi was a dark brown stodge which looked like it had been stewing all day, all the peppers and onions boiled to death. Intensely hot but tasteless apart from a slightly burnt flavour. My wifes pathia only slightly better overcooked again but this time completely bland. This is the second time and I was willing to give it another go assuming that the first was bad luck but not so. I wiil never use the Shilam again total waste of thirty quid.

Booked table for a special celebration, drove from welshpool in horrible weather only to find out the restaurant has been closed since 21st October and nobody thought to inform us,so angry that our evening was spoilt.

Wow, this place is a real gem - the food's *amazing* (well, the chicken jalfrezi I had was at least - the others were very happy with their meals too but I didn't try any of them sadly). Staff were very friendly and attentive. Decent prices and relaxed atmosphere. Will be back next year!

Ordered a meal through just eat for family after waiting for nearly two hrs the food was all cold will never order again from their had a refund

Staff were very friendly, but not impressed with my meal. I know you shouldn't have scampi in a Indian restaurant but it's what I wanted with a curry sauce. When the scampi came it was reformed scampi and they were charging £9 plus for this. Hence meal not eaten. I will not be going here again

Food was delicious once we got served as we waited nearly half an hour for our order to be taken. We would go back again.

Four of us had dinner in the Shilham last night and the curries and service was excellent. I asked for a chicken tikka Parthia with extra spice to Vindaloo strength and they duel obliged. The curry was both tasty and hot. My fellow diners also enjoyed the curries they had. Best curry I have had in Aberystwyth for some time.

Very disappointed looked like the real deal but was just another bland disappointing curry house, and the food did not sit well on my stomach

Absolutely amazing. We were staying in Borth for the week and in the Tuesday night we really fancied an Indian. The Indian in Borth was closed so had to look further a field. We can across Shilam Tandoori so decided it wasn't to far to drive there so we would go there. On arrival i was greeted by pleasant staff and told he would get my order. As i waited i was taken away on how lovey the restaurant was and thought it was a shame we didn't come to eat in. My order came out and was incorrectly taken over the phone however this was rectified extremely quickly. Was i got back to the holiday home and we tucked in to the food it was unbelievably delicious. We live in Manchester where there is some on the best Indian takeaway/restaurants around and i have to say Shilam tandoori was one of if not the best Indian food we have eaten in a very long time if not ever. It make me sad we don't live closer as it would definitely be a weekly thing. Highly recommend. Great place, great staff and amazing food.

Day1: Started with Madras poppadoms(served with condiments) and Lemonade. Then had palak paneer, chapathi, Cheese Nan, curd and Dal Tarka. Day 2: Some curry with chapathis, Poppadoms and Lemonade. Food was delicious, service was fast and prices were fair. Would look forward to come again if I will be back in Aberystwyth.

Just been here It is a nice restaurant. The prices are fair and the variety is very good. They even serve some British food for the ones Who prefer it. The quality and quantity is also good! Just the interior design could be a bit better.

We had a wonderful curry here last week. The place was full, we took the last table, we were served quickly and or drinks came over promptly we were a party of four and we each had a main a side and a drink and our bill only came to £65. I had a lamb vindaloo and it was very very tasty. I would highly recommend. Far superior to the other Indian in Aberystwyth

Such a lovely meal and very nice staff. We were the last people to leave but they didn't make us feel rushed at all.

Half the time the food is uncooked and raw, plus they take almost an hour and a half for delivery. When you call them up, all they say is wait 15 more minutes- and you can expect to wait maybe another half an hour or even an hour.

Really nice, only stayed in Aberystwyth for 2 nights with work. But really fancied an Indian. So glad I went it was so nice. Defo recommend.

Exceptionally delicious food. We loved the curries and garlic naan, salad & papadums with a mango & a mint dipping sauce. Great friendly service too. Wish we lived close by so we could enjoy ordering more from their menu. Lucky locals!

Wide variety of traditional Indian dishes

We went and had a meal in here on Saturday 4th August. We had a lovely meal .The staff were plesent and friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant. I can not say how good the food was. I have been living in Aberystwyth for 11yrs and walk past it most days. I will be going in more often now.,and will be taken friends and relatives with me next time.

The Shilam Tandoori Indian Restaurant next to the railway station in Aberystwyth is ideal for a group meal or family get together. A wide range of authentic Indian meals and side dishes at reasonable prices is available with an excellent drink choice. The waiter service is particularly good and it is best to book, especially on Fridays or Saturdays. Takeaway meals are also available at the same high standard.

Had to complain about half full price on the table away.

Very nice tandoori not your usual red food dye job, service polite, I pity my freinds daughter as this was her first restaurant curry, I have explained not all curry houses are of this high quality standard.

One star is too kind I think for this low level cooking and servicing. Food doesn't come with any side and restaurant charge delivery fees even over a 10£ order. Never answer the phone, hang off the phone on customers like they have no business to deal with us. Food gave me diarrhoea and stomach pain. Disgraceful. Nothing more to say to express my anger and disappointment at least for my money which is long gone and can't be refunded.

The staff was brilliant! Very nice, kind and helpful. They gave free water with lemons which was great for the spicyness. The food was also good, both of us had chicken dishes that we liked a lot! The only thing we missed were some more vegetables and a typical Indian desert

That was the worst Biryani I have ever had in my entire life. If my ancestors who invented Biryani tried the biryani that was served here they would go back to their graves and wished they were never existed. Ordered the Shilam special Biryani and it was so bland. There was hardly any noticeable lamb in there. Can't believe I paid £11:95 for this terrible excuse for a Biryani. 1/10 would not recommend even to my mortal enemy

The most bland Indian food I've ever eaten. I'm not sure how spicy food can lack flavour, but this had none. Between us, we ordered 6 different dishes, and they were all supremely disappointing.

Ate here last night. Food and service was ok until a dish of mint sauce was brought out and placed on our table which was crawling with ants. We complained to the waiter who took the dish away, wiped the ants off and promptly brought it back. Needless to say, we had second thoughts about finishing our meals.

What a great surprise to find such a fine Indian restaurant down here. We're regulars already!
