The Penrallt Country House Hotel in Ceredigion

Room was lovely if cold when we arrived. The restaurant was closed as the chef was ill we were given a taxi number that told us it was his night off and went to the ship inn that was fine. However today we had planned to have drinks in the bar to find the bar closed and the number for staff none active. Obviously this weekend was quiet but basic service should have been available or bookings not taken. As this was my birthday it was very disappointing.

Wonderful Christmas at Penrallt What more could you want at Christmas than a roaring fire, dogs curled up, quality streets everywhere you looked. Perfect three night stay, wonderfully welcoming. Food amazing, thanks to Jonnie and his team, hospitality exceptional. Small number of staff but all work so hard to make everything perfect. Couldn't recommend enough. Rocked up Christmas eve as strangers left as friends.... Looking forward to next year already

Wow what a stunning place to visit. The views over Aberporth and the coast are beautiful 😍 On a clear evening we could see all the way to the North Wales coast line. We have really enjoyed making pizza here over the summer. The staff have been so friendly and helpful. Long may this collaboration continue. :) They provide the drinks, the views and the stunning location and we provide the hand crafted pizzas 🍕 😀 We haven't stayed here but the rooms look stunning and of the highest quality.

Another very enjoyable stay at the Penrallt Hotel , Aberporth , Ceredigion . Great setting , lovely room and high quality staff and service .

Lovely location and real potential for a great stay in a gorgeous building but... Shower falling off the wall, shower tray that fills up like a bath, no option of food in the evening. In fact I was specifically told that food was not being served, imagine my surprise to find people eating in the conservatory as I came back from eating dinner in the highly recommended Copper Pot in Cardigan.

Honestly the most stuck up pair of people. And I can’t see anything but this property failing miserably due to the owners. The absolute audacity to pull there face at the underpayment they received but then to only go and nock off £50 it’s actually laughable. It’s should just how bad the place is doing when you look at the cost off booking a room now cheap as chips.

We visited the hotel for Afternoon Tea yesterday. I phoned ahead the day before, to see if we could book it in a little earlier in the day. The team there were happy to accommodate our plans. As a family, we’ve visited the hotel (& originally the campsite in the front field) for over 40yrs. We have great memories of the place. We took my 84yr old mother this week, as she hadn’t been there for many years. The team prepared a fantastic table for us, infront of a roaring fire. A bottle of champagne on ice, ready to go ! The food, the welcome, the ambience were all fantastic, and made for a special day. We really can’t thank the team there enough ! Magical.
