Absolutely disgraceful attitude towards diabled people. My friends and I visited, having paid for an evening of live entertainment, only for the wheelchair user in our group to be abused by the owner, Lynne Blair. She physically moved him and his wheelcahir into a corner and called him an obstuction. When we then left a review, via facebook, she went onto my business page & left all sorts of absurb comments in some vile attempt to damage me. She is a nasty piece of work and the venue treats it's customers abismally. I will never return.

Just returned home from holiday to receive a £100 pound fine for parking in the area opposite this pub. The pay and display machine was out of order and there was no Wi-Fi signal to pay on line. Absolute disgrace that this pub is housing the ANPR camera that is allowing this rip off or even providing clear signage warning you not to park there. Will not be back to this village, you do not deserve it.

Admittedly the shots are good, but we went for a drink today before going home and was told that they were closing an hour and a half before they were supposed to, despite no mention of such. We have been here a few days and most of the days we haven't been able to have any cocktails because of no staff which while unfortunately is fair, but the live music on the weekend was too loud (and fairly terrible sounding) and it took over the bar that you couldn't get a drink if you wanted. Would not recommend and apparently neither would anyone else as the place is not popular and always mostly empty. Also the beer is not well kept and was full of sediment.

Today at Llangrannog I was forced to pay Just Park for parking my car at your car park using my credit card because the machine was no longer accepting coins. All fine BUT I was not forewarned that a text message confirming the transaction could not be sent because i was using an international mobile phone number. I had to use a UK number to repeat the transaction so I was charged twice for the same car. I would like my money refunded. It is your car park, you run a pub, understand hospitality, you understand the need for good customer experience. You are obliged to instruct JustPark, which you outsource the operating of the car park, to refund me. I believe you could do a far better job at managing the car park by finding an alternative payment solution BTW. You are putting drivers off visiting Llangrannog

Nice pub and owner, Kim, who was extremely helpful getting the parking app on my phone to pay for parking. The parking meter was broken, not taking cash. People were getting angry not being able to pay unless you had the app on your phone. So you have to have a smart phone. Also you are only given 10 minutes to pay, otherwise you are threatened with a fine. We are still waiting to see if we are going to be fined, as I couldn't get the correct app on my phone in time. Won't be going again and this spoiled our holiday.

We’re staying locally, as we have done every year for many years (we’re talking 30+ years here, so not just a few!) … This is the first pub I’ve ever come across which doesn’t allow dogs inside, which was a bizarre shock but no problem .. losing some trade for the evening. They claim they’re nothing to do with the notorious car park which issues fines often and unexpectedly, yet the ANPR camera is mounted ON the pub; so clearly something related! The landlady is rude and antagonising if it’s not on ‘her terms’ … a delivery to a cottage just up next to the pub was dropped off and the lovely Tesco chap got an earful from her. There is no other access and was there for 2 minutes… totally uncalled for .. especially when there’s no issues when THEY have deliveries ! They have also been playing (awful) music inside and outside the pub rather late into the night (12am) and also on Sundays outside all day. This is rather anti-social to people outside the pub which came down for some peace and quiet. We tended to split our time between the Pentre pub (would much more recommend!!) and the Ship .. and now onwards will spend only the time abit further up the road in the Pentre. Sadly as this used to be a lovely pub and welcoming team.

I phoned in and spoke to a lady and managed to book to go to the ship on a Tuesday evening. On arrival the ship was locked and no one was there. Very disappointing and very poor communication.

Absolutely disgraceful service! Booked a table for 10 adults and 2 babies. Arrived only to be told that there was only one high chair in the place. Not a problem I said, we'll just keep one baby in her push chair. I was told that they couldn't accommodate the push chair as the restaurant didn't have enough room. Due to them denying entry to a push chair we didn't go into the place. It's not as if we'd just turned up, we'd told them in advance we'd be bringing 2 babies under 12 months. Extremely disappointing, will never visit again.

Such a disappointing end to a good day. We had ordered pizzas from the cafe nearby and had not been able to finish everything, so were carrying our boxes with the remains back to our cottage when we decided to stop in the Ship Inn for a drink to finish the day. Everything was fine until we were apologetically informed by a member of staff that the landlady had told him to tell us that any food which hadn’t been bought at the pub couldn’t be on the premises, referring to our closed pizza boxes sat on the bench, which we were occupying in the outside area of the pub. We complied and moved our pizza boxes to a spot outside of the fenced area where we could see them and pick them back up on the way home, as we had already bought drinks at this point. The chef then proceeded to stand in the top window and stare down at us, as if trying to intimidate us. Following this, the landlady came out and attempted to move our boxes while loudly complaining about people “leaving boxes outside the window” and claimed that the spot we had left them in beyond the fence was still on her premises. At this point we decided to just leave our drinks and take our leftovers with us, while she rudely walked past and said if the food agency showed up they would “take away her rating”. I suppose as long as you keep your rating, the loss of customers through sheer rudeness and pettiness is not a concern. Very disappointing as we are here for a week and were planning on eating here at some point, but now will avoid!

Really poor experience here food was inedible and what little I ate of the curry in bread gave me food poisoning and ruined my family weekend away. The landlady is rude, even after admitting the food served to us was unacceptable can still not find it within herself to apologise and be humble, the chef was incaozble if cooking chips, homemade burnt and soggy, my wife’s egg was burnt in the white and the yolk solid. It’s a shame to have to write a poor review however this business is complicit in allowing the fraudulent behaviour of a car parking company by hosting their ANPR camera. The car park company is damaging the tourism industry of Llangrannog as many people are avoiding the car park due to unfair £100 fines. This pub hosts their ANPR camera and allows this to continue. For the sake of your business and the others around you, please take it down and stop allowing this to continue.

Having read some of the reviews I was a little worried about coming here tonight. I did think the reviews seemed a little harsh. I was right to be sceptical. The owners were lovely and friendly and went out of their way to help. It was a busy night, Wales V England, however the service was fantastic. The food absolutely lovely. I had hunters chicken which was delicious, thick bacon, tender chicken and the cheese and bbq sauce just right. The fish and chips was delicious the homemade batter very light and crispy. The beef curry was spicy and plenty of sauce. The gammon was huge! The chicken and mushroom pie from the specials was delicious huge and homemade. The burger was also lush. I have to mention the chips they were handcut crispy and tasty, certainly not cheap frozen chips. The beer was fresh and my husband said the Guinness was the best pint he had tasted in years. The staff were attentive and the chef checked in on us to see if our food was okay. The decor is lovely and in keeping with a sea side pub. The staff bought out the birthday cake and served it for us and even found us some tuppaware to take the remainder home in. Thank you for a lovely night we will most certainly be back again. We were a party of 13 and all meals came out hot and together we did not have to wait very long. Up front, it was 20 years ago on a date now remembered as "9/11" throughout the world. My wife and friends and I had been trout fishing on the Teifi that morning near the old castle at Newcastle Emlyn (about 15 miles away.) Having enjoyed a pleasant, but unproductive morning, we returned mid afternoon to the beach village at Llangrannog where we were staying for the week. We stopped in at Y Llong for a quick pint... it was somewhat like that scene in old westerns when all becomes quiet when someone walks into the saloon. The lady managing the bar quickly appeared and asked if we'd heard the news. When we said, "no," she suggested that we walk the few yards down the street to our flat to learn what was happening. We tuned in just in time to watch the 2nd plane crash into the World Trade Center. Staggered, we returned to Y Llong, where we were met with the utmost sympathy. (I don't recall that we had to pay for a pint while we were there that day.) Far away from North Carolina, we never expected the treatment we received. To this day, it's remembered and deeply appreciated. Cymru am Byth.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Let's start from the beginning. We were waiting for an hour before even recieving menus. When we asking wait staff for the menus we were told "someone will be out to you" and made to wait a further half an hour for a menu. After we'd received our menus it took them a further 45 minutes to take our order, and once our order was taken a further hour and 15 minutes to receieve our food. The food itself was below expectations, a standard sausage and mash would have been better in a Wetherspoons... The prices were ridiculous, upwards of £15 for sausage and mash, and cheese is not standard on burgers! Once the bill came we were charged £30 service charge without being made aware. A sour taste has been left in the mouth and we won't be returning here ever again.

We come to Llangrannog every year and every year there seems to be new management in The Ship. This year's Landlady spent most of her time wandering around with a clipboard kicking paying customers off tables that were "reserved" for fictional customers who might want to eat (none of whom materialised in the time we were sat down). As it was well past lunch time this seemed like an odd tactic and meant there were loads of free outside benches but loads of people corralled into a smaller area in the road where most had to stand. All in all made for a pretty unwelcoming environment and we would have stayed much longer and bought a lot more drinks if we had just been left to it. Perhaps some signs on tables informing people that those eating have priority would be a better way to work. Save yourself the hassle and go to the Pentre instead, Mike is great and the food is good too.

Tried to come here for lunch this weekend. On arrival we were welcomed (initially) and ushered inside when we said we were hoping for food. It was only when we got inside that we were told that was £35 for steak and lobster (it was more complicated than this, we asked for clarity on there system 3 times). This was really abit much for our budget so asked how much for just a steak - apparently this is not allowed (though it seemed it was when it was explained). We decided to just have drinks instead. The attitude towards us changed at this point. We were then told that if we were only having drinks we had to sit outside. Thats fine no problem, we went outside with our somewhat expensive drinks. We sat down outside and were moved again to a group of benches further away. This was not done in a friendly manner there was really no need to be so rude, we were not trying to be difficult. The bench area we were directed to was quite busy and the benches were all next to each other and less than a metre appart facing (this is still a covid requirement) so we decided to stand up away from the benches so we were not in close proximity to other people. While we stood by the benches we witnessed other people sitting in the area we had been kicked out of.... With on drinks and not waiting for food. It seems our lack of budget offended. All in all we were disappointed with the price, this is a very small town it simply doesn't suit and the unclearness and general rudeness was unpleasant to experience. We bought 4 freshly stone baked pizzas for the same price as a single meal (not including drinks) in this place. My peroni was nice.

Constructive feedback as seemingly under new management and with every heartfelt sympathy for how hard it has been for hospitality this past year or so. Friends of mine approached earlier enquiring as to whether we could get some food here this early evening. Were left the impression that we could. On arrival, instead of being presented with a menu, it appeared to be a choice of Steak and Lobster or Steak and Lobster, for an outlay well beyond our budget. On realising this, but deciding to forego dinner and have a drink here nonetheless, we were then told that we could not sit inside for this. Shortly after settling on an outside picnic bench, we were then moved on once again, to an even smaller enclosure of picnic benches out on the margins with a number of other people who I suspect may have just been after the same simple thing. This was the most populous area of the whole pub. Llangrannog is a relaxed bucket and spade sort of destination. I really think it would be wise to make clear to potential passing trade what the offering is first, rather than drawing people in, and then rudely treating them like 2nd class citizens when they realise that they cannot actually afford what is on offer.

Went to have a nice lunch but when we went in we were not told that the only thing on the menu was lobster and steak (you heard me not on or the other but both) £35! Each with there being the most confusing options so we dicided to have some beers instead just to be told to go outside so me and my group of 4 decided OK not great weather but we can get a table with an umbrella just to be told that we could only sit on benches at the other end of the outside area so basically the car park with no covid restrictions in place no 2 meters spacing and no one was sitting on the tables in the front section, I'm just saying when we come out of covid do not be rude to your clients and give people a menu. This used to be a great pub but if the owners don't listen to their punters it will be closed in 12 months.

Just the perfect rural villages pub, with the added bonus of being right on a beach, great food, drink and locals, it's got the lot.

Only went for food, outside due to Covid-19. Very well organised, large portions of lovely, and not expensive, food.
