Shikara Indian Restaurant in Kensington and Chelsea

Excellent all round, will definitely be back. Service was prompt and we were made to feel welcome. We chose this restaurant because of the good reviews and were not disappointed.

We never communicated with restaurant thats the reason we predicted 3 star for service as per Just Eat App Order. Food was Good, packaged very well to keep hot. Unfortunately Portions are literally small.

After arriving 2 hours late and cold, no call from the restaurant, no option to cancel. Your seriously asking for my opinion? Not the first time either.

After a family day out at the Natural History Museum, we were looking for a nice spot close to the museum to get some dinner. We came across Shikara, a traditional Bengali Restaurant. The food and service was outstanding. We ordered the Lamb Rogan Josh, Lamb Biriyani, Prawn curry and Butter Chicken as our mains and we complimented these with the naan bread and the Pilau and plain rice. All the dishes were full of flavour and had the correct level of spices - it definitely satisfied our palettes! We are also able to use our 2for1 Meerkat code at the restaurant and so we ended up paying for 6 out of 12 dishes, which worked out to be less than £55 for the entire meal - such value for money! The only thing I would say, is that our meals took a bit of time to come out and we were not offered any pappadoms or chutney for starters, which I thought was quite bizarre as I am used to all Indian restaurants offering this as complimentary starters. Apart from that it was a great family meal and I would highly recommend.

I was very disappointed with your lamb tikka masala tonight. Although there was a generous helping of lamb, the meat was tough & chewy and the sauce had an unusual after taste. Not one of your best! The rest of the meal was very enjoyable.

Food excellent but, thanks to the Just Eat delivery man who couldn't find me (!), it was luke warm. Such a pity!

The food had very generous portions but I do go to a reputable Thali restaurant in Croydon so have been spoilt for ordinal flavours.Very nice but missed the flavours.

The lamb jalfrezi, aubergine side dish, mushroom rice & flaky parathas made an absolutely delicious & balanced meal, thank you so much. Appreciated the samosa starter too, thank you.

I ordered a vegetable curry and I am afraid it was one of the worst vegetable curries I have ever had in fact I threw it away.

Well I thought I would try this out as another reviewer gave a few good reviews thank u Ann-Marie I must say I think this is the best curry I have ever had very fresh light and flavoursome so much so I’m ordering Again today and highly recommend you will not be disappointed delivery was on time and driver was very polite honestly u can’t pass this place by also love the packages they come in no spills just can’t blow there trumpet enough

The food was excellent as usual. Your starter was a nice surprise birthday present! One problem, not the restaurant's fault though, was that the delivery man did not wait for me as requested but left the food outside our security door which was a real problem because that gate opens outwards! We had quite a time trying to open the door without ruining the food!

The parathas were deliciously flaky. It's so difficult to find them made properly like that these days. Unfortunately the Seafood Mix Biryani was very disappointing. There was far too much squid, no tiger prawns & the accompanying veg curry was tasteless. What a shame! Definitely not up to your usual high standards.

Extremely good Indian! We had it takeaway and it came quickly, was super warm, and very very tasty! In particular we loved the Jheenga Malai curry ( a coconutty, jumbo prawn curry)!!!

I ordered 2 large tubs of Ben & Jerrys ice cream & instead recieved to tiny pieces of house cheesecake. Restaurant didn't answer the phone so I had to contact Just Eat who issued me refund. I will not order from here again. Very disappointing.

Fancied a curry a little late on a Sunday evening. Shikara were the only place taking orders! So glad that they were - Lovely food! My partner loves Chicken Tikka Masala and really enjoyed the one she got from Shikara. I had the Green Masala - Very subtle flavours, which I enjoyed but would probably try something different next time! We also order the Chana Masala and Tarka Dal which were both delicious! The worst Qorma/Korma I hv ever eaten anywhere in the world. I am an South Asian Chef for the last 40 years. I called to complain to the restaurant and they were rude to me and put the phone down on me. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I have never been insulted like this in my whole life. The food was awful as was the customer service. I would stay well away from this establishment. Bad experience.

Food- rice was not fluffy and hot just stuck together, and cold, the meat well this was not meat it was meat with fat on it, it was tough and the best tasting thing was the peas, the cheese was not fresh and to hard, it was not satisfactory..

I called and asked why the wait time was an hour and the person who spoke to me dismissed my concern. After waiting an hour for my food I called the restaurant again and asked where my food was and the person on the phone AGAIN dismissed my concern. When the food arrived late the food was cold. Not happy considering I paid nearly £30 for my food. Not ordering here again.

Los cócteles y la comida estaban bien hechos y sabrosos, nuestro camarero fue muy amable y profesional y el vino era de excelente calidad a un precio muy razonable (probé una copa de vino de la casa después de nuestra comida debido a la recomendación del camarero, ya que proviene de mi ciudad natal, ¡y estaba sabrosa, afrutada y ligera incluso por el precio barato!)

Food ok but driver very late and food wasn't really hot enough. Driver Should have called me when it was dropped off at desk in building. I didn't know it was delivered until a security guard came to find where we were working.

Food arrived 30 minutes late and one main dish was missing

One of the worst Indian food. Chiken biryani was just rice with some spice. Butter chicken is ketchup based sweet source. Crab fish cake had no crab in it or the flavour. It’s literally not Indian food.
