This is my mother in laws favourite Chinese takeaway, which is why I bought meals for six there on Sunday evening. The girl that answered the phone was very friendly, and the service at the counter was very good, but I'm afraid the food is not up to much. The Szechuan beef was unlike any other Szechuan beef I have had anywhere else, and not in a particularly good way. The sweet and sour chicken my wife had was equally disappointing. The other dishes were okay, according to the rest of the family, but I won't be in a rush to return.

Ordered a beef chow mein, when it arrived I was immediately disappointed to see that the only veg in it was a few halved mushrooms. As soon as I tasted it I honestly felt sick. The noodles had a weird sweet taste that I've never experienced anywhere before. It was truly inedible and I ended up having a bag of crisps for my tea. To add insult to injury it was the most expensive chow mein I have ever ordered. Never again.

Absolutely disgusting Chinese. £16 for chicken fried rice and sweet and sour chicken. Absolutely rip off as well. Never again.

I have used them for ten years. The taste and texture are authentic and they are the best chinese food outlet locally. I will not eat chinese food from anywhere else around here.

Me and my family ordered a chinese. We ordered two wrap meals (both of which were completely wrong) and a chicken ball meal which was raw. We then went to change our order to which we was made to feel it was our fault, the front of house staff are awful to there customers, will not be going again!

Always use Sheng’s and it’s never disappointed. Price is slightly higher than other places but the quality is second to none. Unfortunately no freebies like prawn crackers etc but the quality of food makes up for it. 10/10 Chinese.

Love the food from this place, never disappointed. The beef chopsuey curry is one of the best in the area. Salt and pepper chicken is good too. Delivery is never late either.

Best chinese in the area. Very clean and professional staff. Used this five or six times in the past few months. Always top quality ingredients. You get what you pay for and their food is second to none in the lancaster and morecambe area.

The food was average, and it is on the pricey side. I had crispy wan tons which were ok.The chicken and cashewnuts contained plenty of both and had a nice slightly smoky char grilled undertone. The noodles were rubbery, and had a strange slightly sweet, slightly salty brown coating. I wouldn't get them again. It is possible that I would go back if I was nearby, but I wouldn't go out of my way.

Always polite and helpful explaining what is in the dishes as previously I was not very adventurous!

I decided to give Shengs a second chance as I was not thrilled with my last takeaway, big mistake.The order for sweet and sour KING PRAWNS turned out to be small prawns in a batter that I could not cut as it was so hard (I do not mean crispy).I had to use my fingers and dip the whole thing into the sauce,even then the batter did not soften.The worse king prawns I have ever had.Soft noodles,how can anything go wrong,they were chewy not quite cooked it seemed.No more chances Shengs.

Don’t normally order from here & after aving to earlier this month won’t be doing it again (unless I av to)

Ordered a Chinese from here. It looks a bit like a taxi rank when you enter as its just seats and a lady taking the orders, she was a little short with us but they were busy.

Always love a takeaway from Shengs. I appreciate that I can pay by card over the phone. Food is always a great quality and delivered in reasonable time.

Had a takeaway tonight and thought we would try a new dish! What a waste of money! King prawn fried rice was literally fried rice with some king prawns. Beige and bland and big that nice! Crispy shredded beef in orange sauce! Shocking! Thin crispy beef that was stuck together and gloopy looking. The sauce was appalling! Looked like see through thin custard and has never had an orange near it. Come on Shenzhen get your act together. Your food isn’t cheap and you could at least add some veg in the dishes to bring flavours and colours. Won’t be back for a long time

We have just had a take away from this place. I can quite honestly say its the worse food ive ever eaten. The salt n pepper chips were disgusting as was everything else. It proved to be inedible and is now in the bin. I would not recommend this place to anybody.

This place has gone down hill. Their crispy shredded beef is an embarrassment. Comes separately from the sauce so it’s cold rattling around in the tub. Tasteless, dry and may as well be called crispy shredded gold with the amount of beef that is in it. The chef needs to hang their head in shame to which is quite possibly the worst crispy shredded beef ever made. A total mess and embarrassment of a dish.

Always great food, always hot and always very quick. Very reasonably priced too. What more could you want from a take away. Keep up the good work.

Good quality chinese food. The salt and pepper chips are to die for. Always generous proportions. Home delivery is available and always on time. Recommended

Ordered a couple of dishes for delivery, one dish was sent wrong so I called them straight away to which they completely refused to replace or refund for the dish they Sent, so I went without the food. Will never use this place again and will continue to recommend people against using it too.

Well known good Chinese take away. Always good food and very quick. Clean and friendly service with a vast menu choice

The special chow mien is just soggy noodle soup. Salt and pepper chips are just soggy chips loaded with salt, black pepper and chillis. Curry sauce tastes a little odd but was edible. Very overpriced and won’t be returning.

We had a set meal for 3 persons but the portions would have fed 4. Sweet and sour pork delicious. Large portion of rice all arriving piping hot.

Got four very expensive dishes for a takeaway thinking it must be good for this price. Not only was the food terrible but both my wife and I have awful stomach cramps and are running to the toilet. Stay well away!!!

Piping hot food; generous portions; extensive menu with reasonable prices - the queues show that this place is doing everything right. A good local alternative to Fish'chips and Indian food.

Mi familia había recomendado que probé la comida en Shengs, no me decepcionó. El cerdo dulce y agria era delicioso. Buenas porciones de tamaño medio. Sin duda para probar más platos en las próximas semanas mientras estoy de vacaciones en la zona de heysham.

Y un curry de ternera ordenados char chow mein todos llegamos sui 30 minutos de pedir comida caliente y sabía encantador. El chow mein viene en un plato enorme, bien vale la pena el precio que se puede compartir entre dos personas.

Recomendado por mi trabajo es hija de amigos. Tenía dos comidas para llevar - Pollo especial y gambas satay con dos porciones de arroz frito.

Llamado en camino a la caravana. Primera vez utilizada. La comida era fresca, bien caliente. Muy bueno. Volveré de nuevo. Sal y pimienta alitas de pollo delicioso.

We normally use golden lion but opted for a change in this fateful evening. To begin with it cost more...for less food, then it took nearly an hour (presumably the ribs, wan tons and prawn toast were cooking for this entire period).The food:Mixed starters - as above, fried beyond recognition, quite literally zero meat on the ribs and inedible prawn toast.Thai green chicken curry - looked creamy, smelt like nothing, tasted like nothing and the chicken was like rubbery feet. Rice - was clumpy and clearly reheated... Badly. Chow mein - was a really big serving... Which smelt and tasted of watery sewage, bits of old boot and overcooked noodles. Salt and pepper chips - literally just that, cheap chips with table salt and ground black pepper on them, about 4 slices of chili. Prawn crackers were ok, but unfortunately due to the waste of the other food, turned out to be the most expensive prawn crackers known to man. The only thing I'd ever have again were the drinks... Two cans of Fanta.

It has become our weekly ritual on a Friday to order in Chinese food from Sheng's. We are never disappointed. The time we wait for it , 30 - 45 minutes, is quite acceptable. We do sometimes get it a lot quicker. The best time to order, is before 6pm when the rush begins.

I have been going to shengs now for about 10 years. the salt and pepper ribs are to die for. good service and promt delivery.

Excellent choice of menu with normally a 30 - 45mins delivery service or collection is available. Food always very tasty.

Went here and waited over a hour for food, it then came half of the order was wrong, the mild curry was so spicy, the noodles in another dish was like hair, phoned up to complain staff was very rude, got a refund but coz we had scraped a mouthful of rice and curry into the bin they charged us 7 pound!

Used to love this Chinese takeaway! But it seems to be getting worse. Ordered a chow mein one day and it wasn't as good as it used to be! Also ordered prawns in ok sauce which I love that was nice but not as nice as usual! Not sure what's happening with this place but it doesn't seem to be as good as what it used to be and I think it can be hit and miss with the food

I always go here for my chineese. It's no nonsense good food. No freebies or anything but the food is amazing. Never had a bad meal, and me and the wife share a main meal with 2 side dishes for £10. Less than the chippy! Telephone orders are ready to collect in 10-15 min.

Takes a while from ordering to meal being ready as place is always busy but worth the wait. parking right outside the door helps too

I ordered 5 dishes not long after Shengs opened. I was told to expect up to a 45 minute wait. this wasnt a problem as we were glued to a TV programme. But it was a good hour ten minutes before the food arrived. On saying that we all enjoyed the selection we had and it was nice and hot.

We have used this chinese for a few years now and recommended to many freinds and family but recently something has changed we ordered what was an inedible curry and was promised a free replacement next time we ordered so we gave it one more chance they sent the incorrect order and the food was terrible again and found a big hair in the curry it's fair to say the whole lot went in the bin and will never order again

This is a nice Chinese which we have visited a few times now. The only downside would be the prices really which are a little high but the food in general is good. The only food item to complain about is the seaweed; not enough of it, soggy and expensive.

We have used this takeaway many times in the past. In fact I have reviewed it before and given it a good review.We decided to get a takeaway last night and in our selection we always have the shengs special fried rice. This has been excellent in the past.We ordered this chips and sweet and sour chicken.none of it was very good and nowhere near what it is usually like. The rice for example usually has 4 large prawns in it this had 2 and they did not taste very nice at that.The sweet and sour was just too sweet and sticky.I left more than half of mine. I really hope this was a blip.

Love this Chinese , we get a delivery most weeks as a treat we usually have the chilli beef with fried rice , king prawn foo yung with chips and curry sauce Never in 2 years have we had a bad mealAnother great dish is the mixed meat curry , it is absolutely beautiful

Chinese is not my favourite take away. The reason is that often it can all taste a bit the same.We had relatives come to stay and I suggested a take away. We picked a mixture of dishes and starters. the portions from here are quite generous the food tasty. It is prepared really quickly as well.As take aways go I think that this is quite good and one that is worth trying.

Amount of meat varies a lot ,waiting time always long ,and you never get anything free for being a loyal customer? Too much onions on a lot of meals and the sauce is too slimy(too much of it) a bit sickly.

i cant find another Chinese take away that comes even close to Shengs. The quality and the freshness of the food is spot on. I've been coming here for years and have never had a bad meal.

Love this place, it is far better when you pick it up as it can get busy and delivery can take a while.

Worth a trip to this take away the portion sizes are good and they do a decent Thai curry as well.The service is efficient rather than friendly. They do get through the orders in good time.We have used this a number of times since moving here and as take aways go it is one to return to.Not bad price wise.

I have used this take away only once. Never again! The food was inedible and I will not use again. I do not normally offer critical reviews but feel it justified in this instance.

We have ordered from shengs quite a few times lately and it is usually nice food and value for money however I ordered the crispy beef and it was the most disgusting food I have ever tasted. Not even edible!! Do not order!

Definately improved over the years however I'd say for every 3 take aways I get here I get one very average or slightly wrong order. If you're in Heysham then it's worth a look but it's more expensive than most chinese take aways

Sheng's is the best Chinese takeaway I've used in a long time. It's very tasty food, excellent value for money and the chips are great! There's a great range of food and they're often quite happy to vary the ingredients of a meal to suit your taste.

This is not a restaurant, just a takeaways, but a regular stop for my husband and I for a treat. There is a large variety on the menu and I have not yet had a dud meal. The meals are largeand of value. My husand's favourite is the Special Curry and mine the Special Chow Mein. Their crackers are also good. The place is Spartan, but the seats are comfortable to sit in while you wait and they have also supplied some reading matter. The staff are really friendly and helpful. We will haunt their entrance many times still.

Thankfully Sheng's was open, or we would have gone hungry, after discovering that The Royal Hotel stopped serving food at 8pm on a Bank Holiday!Typical décor - tiled floor to ceiling like an old school shower block/random plant & calendar/no: heating/tv/music but smiling jacket wearing assistant - sound familiar?Service quick, prices ok, food fine (back at the digs) & the chips.. spot on!

I have used shengs several times and found the food to be good. The portions are quite large too. a couple of times items have been missed off the delivery so check when it arrives. Once it was chips missed and another time one main meal. They did bring another portion back quickly and gave us free prawn crackers. I would recommend as the service is quick.

We use Shengs now and again and invariably order the same thing each time....Shengs Special Fried Rice, Spicy Szechuan Chow Mein and Salt and Pepper Ribs....drooling as I write this. BIG portions. Always well packed. Always hot. Always delicious. Always a BIT expensive...but you pay for good grub so no REAL quarrel there. A+

Been going here for years and never had a bad meal. The meat is always top quality, the chicken is breast meat unlike the unidentifiable 'meat' you get from some others.Would definitely recommend.

We visited Shengs this evening will not be returning! We ordered 2 dishes and 2 portions of rice, first we had to return as they had forgotten one portion of rice. Then had to return again as the Crispy Beef we ordered was so overcooked it was simply inedible. Disgusting! On returning to the shop with the dish, yes we received a replacement dish but our other dishes were now ruined. We were given a complementary bag of prawn crackers! NOT GOOD ENOUGH! Terrible food, terrible service! Do not visit!

Last ordered Tuesday the food was brilliant also offering gluten free dishes which I feel is great, not a single complaint with anything. Fast delivery and very polite.

We used Sheng's after it had been shut for a refurb and hoped it would live up to its local reputation. The chicken dish we ordered had chicken covered in some kind of slime and the crispy won tons were soggy and un edible. The delivery time was good but the standard of the starter and main really let it down. Seaweed was good as we're the prawn crackers but as for everything else we were very disappointed. We will not use again unfortunately.
