Shed in Belfast

First time to this lively little restaurant, nice atmosphere, excellent service, we tried the house red wine - which we thought was ok, our main course we’re beautifully presented and food was delicious- highly recommend

We have been regulars at Shed since it was just a narrow wee row of tables with an open kitchen. Through thick and thin and through Covid we stayed loyal. So why are we so disappointed with our former favourite! A month ago we dined there. I regularly order the chicken and my favourite dauphinois potatoes. When the meal came I cut into the centre of the dauphinois to find they were only lukewarm. I spread the dish across the plate to check temp. At £26 a dish I rather thought that I should return these to the kitchen to give the chef the chance to remedy the situation. After all everyone is allowed an off day. After a wait the dish was returned to the table very much in the same state I had sent it back. Warmer to be fair but no attempt had been made to provide me with a reassembled dish which might warrant the price I was paying. The dish came back with a curt message from the owner to say that the dauphinois had been cooked for the same time as the chicken. Implying that I had no cause for complaint. I was inclined, as a household cook of some 60 years, to send a message back to mine host that I always check temp of dish before serving!! Just to be sure. I refrained from directness preferring to vote with my feet, paid our not inconsiderable bill and left saddened by the owner’s unhelpful reaction. We decided not to return. And then my son presented us With a voucher for The Shed for my birthday. Tonight we decided to use it to celebrate my 70th.. After all we all need a second chance. So I ordered my usual and … you guessed it … by the time I was halfway through the dauphinois the dish was stone cold. This time I did not bother sending it back. We cut our losses and got out of Dodge. But we will not be back. Such a shame. I work in the theatre and we have a saying ‘ You are only as good as your last production’. Reputation is all . Having said that poor standards for one reason or another are sometimes inevitable. However, refusing to take a customer’s reasonable requests seriously and treating them with contempt is not on. Not to accept and remedy a customers complaint is arrogant and ultimately bad business. I dare say we will not be missed . Given how much money we have spent in the Shed over the years Thais a great pity

Great food, great price and fantastic service. Well done to all involved a first class establishment and only 20 minutes walk back to the city centre. Will definitely be back on our next visit to Belfast.

A favourite when in Belfast. Lovely, warm, relaxed atmosphere. Service great and food is always exceptional. It's quite pricey but totally worth it.

The food? Excellent. The service? Top drawer. The wine? Really went with the food. The atmosphere? Welcoming. The staff could teach other places how it's done. We've been stacks of times and I simply cannot recall ever having a bad experience. I hope they keep doing what they're doing so we can keep going. We're booked in again soon.

Fabulous food with amazing service . The seabass was amazing - worth every penny. The steaks were perfect and the onion rings to die for .

Was here for a meal Saturday night. We had 2 main meals i was very disappointed with mine. It was basically cod on top of mash with what looked like a raw potato on the side . The squid sauce was way too much on the plate and not tasty. Not worth it for £25 a meal and a small portion. My husband had the chicken but wasn’t impressed. We didnt order a dessert. Wont be back ill pay extra for that kind of food in a decent restaurant.

Went on a Saturday night with visiting friends It was very noisy. Had to shout to be heard. Had to signal to place order. We were hungry and had to wait a long time for our food. Was told it was because a medium to rare steak took longer to cook than the chicken?? The food was just ok. The others had finished their deserts before mine came. Spoke to people at next table who had the same wait for food. Either don’t go hungry to this restaurant or bring some sandwiches while you wait. Overall disappointing

From the moment we walked in we were looked after extremely well. My Coeliac wife had multiple strictly gluten free options available from the menu. The Shed also has a separate fryer for skinny chips and coupled with their rump steak we had a wonderful meal. All the Shed’s staff were totally clued into allergy requirements and at no time were we concerned. This was five star food, five star service and a five star experience. We will return very soon!

Really excellent meet and greet with Susannah. She took our telephone booking efficiently at short notice and even got us a window seat ( though the windows do need a clean!) My guest had a flight to catch and she was quick and timely in her care for us . The food was terrific- great menu choices. The chicken wings are delicious and the marinated aubergine was as well . John had mains chicken with potatoes and green beans and said it was tasted as good as the chicken he remembered from his youth . Very attentive charming and lovely service and especially from Susanbah who looked after us from the minute we arrived until we left on a busy lunch service day . Well done ! I am very grateful for the memories of a wonderful lunch in the day my friend was leaving Belfast . Oscar o Duchon

When first entering the restaurant, i was not greeted nor even given a 'hello'. Instead the man at the entrance gave us a stern look up and down. He got a different waiter to tell us where we were sitting, who didn't bother to bring us to our table. The booth seats were torn and in desperate need of replacement. Had to remind waiter to bring our drink order having already asked and we were not checked on when eating our meal. Unfortunately i was made to notice that a certain customer had the audacity to make a rude comment about us regarding our age! It seemed like this place was full of vain, sad people . The food was average. Overall, wouldn't recommend.

My wife and I had a meal early evening on a Saturday. Great atmosphere and really friendly service. Tasty starter of parfait for me and prawns for my wife. We both had the sirloin steaks and honestly it is the kind of food that makes you make noises as you eat it!! Steaks cooked to perfection with a lovely charcoal Smokey taste. The veg and jus were awesome. Finished the meal off with a few liqueur coffees. There are lots of fancy restaurants in Belfast but honestly this is one of the best.

I’m always dubious about restaurant outings at this time of year. However both the food and service were both excellent. We were a group of 9 and everyone’s food was reported to be great. The young waitress advised us that as we had not ordered starters it could be 30 minutes before we were served so she advised us to get some bread perhaps, which was good advice and kept us informed. We were ably served by Noelia. She was pleasant and professional and a great asset to the restaurant. We will be back

To say this place is a hidden gem is an understatement! The atmosphere was electric, the service phenomenal and the food was to die for! To start, three of us had the beef ragu arancini and it did not disappoint. Crunchy breadcrumbs covered rice with a soft bite and hiding in the centre was a delicious ragu with melted stringy mozzarella cheese! The burnt shallot aioli added the final touch. Our other friend went with the fiery chicken wings. The portion was generous and the coating had a warming kick. Crisp and full of flavour but soothed by the blue cheese dip. The mains consisted of two rump steaks and two plates of belly pork. The rump steak was cooked to each of our likings (medium rare and medium) served alongside the garlic sautéed potatoes, crunchy onion rings, mushroom and tomato with the perfect amount of peppercorn sauce to accompany. To say the steak was melt in your mouth is an understatement! I can hand on heart say it was the best steak I have EVER had! My plate was almost wiped clean I also got to try the pork belly. The fat had a wonderful crunch, the belly itself was tender and the stuffing was divine (I am not a fan of raisins but they worked so well) For dessert… I went with the chocolate brownie served with a cherry compôte and vanilla ice cream. Every mouthful left me wanting more and more. The compôte was slightly sharp against the sweet chocolate and the vanilla ice cream just cleansed the palette. Also on order were the mulled wine poached pear (2) Something I didn’t get to try as the they were devoured in seconds. From the empty bowls it is clear to say that they were delicious (served with champagne and strawberry sorbet) I honestly cannot wait to return and have another fantastic meal here (steak night for myself and the missus) Thank you so so much for an amazing dining and service experience!

I’ve been to Shed quite a few times and it’s my favourite restaurant in Belfast. Staff are knowledgeable, friendly and professional - everyone here clearly takes pride in their work and it makes for a really special experience. Never had a disappointing meal here - I even got the cookbook so I can recreate some of the dishes that are no longer on the menu! Really glad to have this place in the neighbourhood.

I called into the restaurant without a booking and it was full to capacity. Fortunately Conor the assistant manager was extremely helpful and was able to arrange me and my partner a table. The food was was excellent quality and the service we got from Conor was even better. Conor went above and beyond for us even though he was extremely busy but was so helpful for the duration of our visit. I would like to give Conor a massive thank you and we will definitely return. Thank you for everything!

Gentili, affabili, cibo decente per stare in Ulster UK. Decente. Non dico altro. Pare un mircolo. Vino buono. Prezzo onestissimo. Niente da dire. Super. Ripeto siamo a Belfast. Non hanno proprio idea di cosa voglia dire mangiare bene. Invece questo ristorante ti fa ricredere

I was excited to try this place as had heard good reviews but I was really disappointed with my meal. I asked initially for the Steak Frittes, the waitress advised that they had run out as had not received their delivery. I opted for the Cajun chicken …what I received was 4 mini chicken fillets coated in what I presume was shop bought sauce. It came with 3 pieces of broccoli and more sauce round the plate to try and make it look better I presume. It was served with over salted chips on the side. To be honest I could have made better myself at home.

The food and service was top quality. A very enjoyable evening had by all. Would recommend the beef salad to start and the aubergine main was amazing

Gorgeous interior, recently extended restaurant. Super friendly staff with fantastic deaf awareness and the food is to die for. (Steak in particular) A place I would go back again and again and again. Fantastic place all around.

Ate Al Fresco at the Shed Bistro on Saturday night (14/05) - our first meal out this side of lockdown.It certainly did not disappoint!!Starters were immense!Corn-fed Chicken full of flavour Rump steak cooked to perfection.Staff were absolutely superb - friendly and helpful.Thank you guys - we will be back!!

Absolutely outstanding. We have never had the chance to visit the restaurant but when was looking for dinner for valentines weekend we came across this menu and it was both to our liking. The instructions of how to heat each course and most importantly the food was amazing. My husband and I cant wait to try the restaurant when its open again for sit in and its definitely number 1 for any takeout/heat at home we have tried during lockdown.

Shed Heat at HomeAs Shed is one of our favourite restaurants in South Belfast, and due to the fact we had been unable to visit since their major expansion and renovations before Christmas, we were greatly looking forward to trying their “Heat at Home” takeaway menu. We started with a Shed classic; Crispy Salt and Chilli Baby Squid served with Asian slaw and sesame dressing with lemon aioli for dipping.Our main course choices were a perfectly cooked Roasted Cod Fillet with saffron aioli, baby tomatoes, capers and new potatoes, and an amazing vegetarian option, the Baked Mushroom Tart topped with a rocket and parmesan salad and melted smoked scamorza all served with sautéed potatoes - both dishes were absolutely delicious. We also ordered a portion of the temptingly rich Truffled Mac and Cheese as a side dish. The portion sizes are generous and filling, so we had to wait a while before tackling Shed’s incredible Sticky Toffee Pudding, with creamy vanilla ice cream. Comfort food at its best! Shed’s take away menu has plenty of choice for all tastes, and the cooking instructions are extremely easy to follow, resulting in an impressive and authentic restaurant experience in your own home. My partner and I visited Belfast for the first time back in September last year. Coming from Glasgow, we felt right at home in the city not just for its similar historic industries and Celtic connection, but of course for its beautiful and friendly people. We were very impressed with the city's diverse and thriving food scene and it was a joy to experience something completely different that we just don't get back home! Our dining experience at Shed was fantastic and owners Jonny and Christina made us feel more than welcome despite the local restrictions. The atmosphere felt very relaxed and intimate. We were sat at the generously sized window booths overlooking Ormeau Road but still benefited a decent view of the open plan kitchen - watching the kitchen staff working their magic adds to experience. (this was before the bistro underwent expansion into the neighbouring unit) The high quality produce at Shed is reflected through the presentation of their dishes. You can tell they take a lot of pride in what they do so well! The portions were hearty and tasty... exactly what you need for a Sunday evening to end the week on a high after cramming in lots of culture (and bevvy). We are looking forward to returning to Shed once the world calms down again. Fortunately Northern Ireland is a quick hop over the water for us Glaswegians but definitely add this to your bucket list should you choose to visit Belfast!

This was our first visit to the new enlarged Shed Bistro having frequently dined in the smaller premises. It did not disappoint! The food as always was superb. We had the Christmas Menu. My wife had the Ravioi starter me the Arancini both were excellent. For mains my wife had Roast Hake me, unusually, a Steak both dishes were cooked to perfection. Christmas pudding and Sticky Toffee pudding completed our meal. Both to die for. The new premises are larger and in accord with the times fully Covid compliant. This restaurant is a gem in the Ormeau Rd we are lucky to have it.

We went on a Friday night for dinner, our first time at Shed Bistro. Really good choice of cocktails, all came looking and tasting delicious. We had scallops and arancini to start, both great. Followed by chicken and pork belly that were both really tasty. We shared a cheese board for dessert which was a highlight for both us, great selection of cheeses that we hadn’t tried before. They came with a cheese menu which I thought was a nice touch so you could read about what you were having. All staff were really friendly and super attentive. Also felt v safe, all wearing masks and hand sanitisers at entrance and on each table. Food is definitely mid-higher price point but it was so nice it was worth it. They did have a really reasonably priced set menu. Only negative comment was that the room was a little smokey due to the open kitchen but we will definitely be back!

Our first visit to the newly refurbished premises and we were very impressed with the new spacious layout without losing the intimate bistro atmosphere. The food was as good as ever, the rump steaks were beautifully soft and perfectly cooked, and the newly expanded staff team were attentive without being intrusive. Well done to the whole team for an excellent dining experience!!

1st time back at Shed in several years & since the restaurant has been extended into the next door unit. 3 of us. 2 got the Christmas meal 2 courses (main&dessert) & other steak s.wich from the regular menu.Turkey excellent. Well presented, good portions, great balance of tastes/textures beautifully cooked & enfused. Steak tender & flavoured with chips (bread maybe a bit tough for some people perhaps but didn't detract from the dish). Desserts - Baileys cheesecake, beautiful presentation & clean crisp flavours. Mulled wine mixed fruits crumble, again beatufully warm, fruity with rich flavours and well presented.Round of soft drinks accompanied with coffee to finish.Good atmosphere & surroundings with good social distancing measures in place, felt safer than being in some coffe shops of recent times.A bit of a wobble at the start in the length of time to get drinks & order taken but can be forgiven. Overall a beautiful meal in a well redesigned restaurant with friendly & pleasant staff. Go again? Absolutely, looking forward to it 2021

The new look and feel of Shed is fantastic! We had such an amazing night, beautiful food, wine and cocktails. Starters consisted of a few of the gang having the scallops....absolutely delicious...could have had more! The other girls had spicy cauliflower soup which they scooped up in a heartbeat! Mains were mostly the duck dish which was so tender and beautiful, served with a beautiful jus consisting of blueberries and boulangere potatoes(they were amazing!!) One of the girls had the vegetarian option which she was slightly underwhelmed by. Desserts were a mix of cheesecake, sticky toffee pudding and cheese board for me......it was amazing, the flavours!!! Our waitress helped with my choice of cheese and didn't disappoint! In fact she was just amazing throughout the evening( said she was new to the restaurant). Overall, an amazing evening and can't wait to go back v soon. Thank-you!

Ordered starters, main course and dessert on Saturday 5th of December for me to collect. The meals were ready at my requested time of 6pm. Everything was well packaged and the reheat instructions very easy to follow. All the food was delicious and I was amazed at how good the steak was considering the reheat!Highly recommended!

This was our 4th visit, every visit has been amazing but this was the standout. Everything was amazing, especially the squid and pork! Service very friendly and attentive and drinks menu hits the spot. Favourite meal of 202 by far, very much recommend 👍

Service is wonderful, the atmosphere is wonderful, the food is beyond wonderful. Foie gras parfait? Oh hell yes! We shall return soon for more wine and deliciousness that comes out of that kitchen.

El lunes por la noche a fines de agosto de 2020, reservé una mesa en el Shed Bistro para cenar, ya que era la oferta "Comer fuera para ayudar".Muy gratamente sorprendido, estaba bastante concurrido, no era un lugar grande pero las mesas estaban bastante bien distanciadas socialmente, se sentía bastante cómodo.Personal muy atento y eficiente, pedimos el bistec de grupa, ¡Guau! ¡Guauu! fue increíble, qué sabor, vino con todos los adornos, excelente.Seguido de Stick Toffee Pudding, que era para morirse.Bien hecho The Shed Bistro. . . . Recomiendo encarecidamente este lugar, volveremos a estar allí.

Family of four booked in for latest dining slot. Unfortunately they had run out of specials (Steak and Lamb) but the a la carte was plenty good. Good vibe and nice dining room.

Aunque el restaurante estaba lleno, el personal fue extremadamente atento durante toda la noche. Tuve el filete de lomo, que considero el mejor filete que he comido en un restaurante. Fue cocinado a la perfección. Esta fue solo mi tercera visita a Shed Bistro, pero ya estoy planeando volver a visitarlo lo antes posible. Definitivamente vale la pena una visita. Usted no será decepcionado.

No me puedo quejar de nada de este restaurante, la única queja que tengo es que no pude pedir más comida porque estaba muy lleno. Compartimos una botella de rosa sorprendentemente hermosa (de la que estoy muy en contra, pero mi amigo quería beberla) y tomamos el calamar que era para morirse y luego bacalao como plato principal. No puedo creer que haya vivido en la zona durante 5 años y nunca lo haya estado. Estaremos de vuelta pronto.

Cenamos aquí la semana pasada durante el programa Eat out to help out. Vine por recomendación de mi amigo, no he estado en este lugar durante años. Parece que fue comprado y renovado por completo. Lo único que quedó realmente fue el nombre. La decoración es preciosa y la comida era para morirse. Calidad del centro de la ciudad No puedo creer lo afortunada que es la gente en la zona de tener un lugar así a poca distancia.Comí vieiras para comenzar seguido por el pato, estaba húmedo y tierno y los sabores estaban fuera de este mundo. Mi amiga es vegetariana y tenía queso de cabra para comenzar seguido de una tarta de champiñones abierta. Fue increíble.Derretir en el medio el fondant de chocolate para el postre. Puntos completos del personal muy profesional. Parece que estos tipos lo hicieron bien en todos los aspectos.

Nos encontramos con el restaurante la otra semana y finalmente logramos reservar, ¡no puedes conseguir una mesa! Sé que entiendo por qué, estaba lleno (¡pero de una manera agradable socialmente distante!). Nos sentimos lo suficientemente lejos de todos los demás y lo pasamos de maravilla. Literalmente no me puedo quejar. Desde comida, cócteles, servicio, entorno, fue increíble. ¡Este lugar le iría tan bien en Londres! ! ! Los sabores eran increíbles, todavía lo sigo soñando. ¡Volveré!

Maravillosa experiencia, 4 de nosotros fuimos a nuestra primera comida fuera del encierro. Desde la reserva hasta el pago de la factura, el servicio y la comida fueron excelentes, especialmente en épocas de convivencia, se han tomado muchas molestias para cumplir con los estándares de distanciamiento social y gobierno, pero la experiencia gastronómica es tan excepcional como siempre. Aparte de un maravilloso menú de productos locales, los platos se presentan en una hermosa vajilla y la decoración crea una experiencia realmente agradable. No puedo esperar a volver, lo haremos chicos.

Shed Bistro on the Ormeau Rd has always been a firm family favourite so we were looking forward to revisiting this wonderful little restaurant after too long away and, lo and behold, we were seated at our customary window table. Shed has been completely renovated since our last visit, with shiny red banquettes and framed photos of their suppliers illustrating the abundance of locally sourced ingredients on offer.It was a great opportunity to catch up with a couple of good friends, sample the Sunday Lunch Menu, and enjoy a glass of Rioja or two.We parked the tandem right outside, and received a lovely welcome from Christina.At first glance, the Sunday Menu choices appear a little limited, especially if you aren’t a big meat-eater. However, any of our requests to adapt dishes or even replace them with alternatives, were never an issue. The starter of mussels, which on the menu featured chorizo and was chosen by our friends, was replaced with white wine and cream for us. Both versions were absolutely delicious.The mains were a modern take on a Sunday Roast. The chicken was perfectly cooked with lovely crispy skin, the beef was presented in generous slices with horseradish on the side, and both were terrific, served with Yorkshire pudding, veg and potatoes. A soft, flaky roast cod, with samphire, tomatoes and potatoes was the pescatarian alternative.Although the first two courses were satisfyingly filling, we just couldn’t resist the desserts on offer; an indulgent sticky toffee pudding, a melt in the middle chocolate fondant, and affogato with a liqueur of choice.This was all washed down with a few glasses of a particularly quaffable Tempranillo. We were even offered some homemade coffee liqueur as a digestif. Well, it would have been rude to refuse! Shed is still a terrific spot, with excellent, friendly staff, a relaxed atmosphere, and delicious locally sourced food which you can see being prepared from your table. What a treat watching Gianluca and Johnny in the kitchen work their culinary magic!

Just dined in this restaurant, have to say the staff were very pleasant and attentive. We all had steak which was perfectly prepared and presented. Would highly recommend.

Having had nearly eight weeks of lockdown friends told us The Shed was doing a takeaway service. As regular customers and having always enjoyed their cuisine we went for the ‘Settle in Sunday’s ‘ option. ( Also do a Saturday night steak meal).The meal was delicious. A classic Sunday lunch and dessert with easy to follow instructions and at £20 per head good value and a real treat which comes highly recommended. Hats off to the restaurant for providing this service and being innovative at a very difficult time for business. Support them. You’ll not be disappointed.

Friendly and welcoming place for coffee or lunch. You can park nearby; it is close to public transport also on Ormeau Rd

My Husband and I visited Shed Bistro for the first time tonight and we were blown away! Inside is really beautiful and chilled vibes. The staff were friendly and helpful and even more so the chefs were even happy to accommodate my fussy eating habit. The food was really delicious and perfect portion size. Cocktails were to die for and on our way out every member of staff including the chefs said goodbye to us which I thought was a lovely personal touch as the resturant was extremely busy and they still went out of their way to see us out. We can't wait to go back, Thank you!

This restaurant is a little further out of the city centre but after reading the reviews we were eager to give the tasty sounding menu a tryThe bistro is nicely decorated and the waiting staff friendly. Menu is not massive but there were a number of options I’d have chosenI opted for the dresses crab, which while tasty, was very small and more of a deconstructed crab than a dressed one. The second course was monkfish which was superb. However, my other half ordered chicken with pepper sauce and dauphinois and was given gravy and mash. This meant I’d practically finished before her replacement meal came. For this reason, and the fact they started to carry through dirty dishes & clean up made it not quite the experience we hoped forAlso given the distance from town it wasn’t cheap

Haven’t been here for years, but boy am I glad I went back. We went for our friends birthday, who is lovely, but has very high standards and even they were pleased. The staff were attentive and friendly and everything was very clean. Loving it so far.The seating was really comfortable, we were at one of the lovely booths in the window. We ordered the drinks, bottle of merlot (which was lovely and not too pricey) and one of our party was on the beer. I am told it was nice, I will have to take his word for it, I don’t drink beer.The menu was fantastic, lots of choice and reasonably priced. The food leaving the kitchen looked really tasty. I opted for the Sunday deal 3 courses for £24.95. I thought if the food lives up to my expectations, this will be amazing value. I was not disappointed.I started with the chicken skewers, which were delicious and perfect size, just enough to get your motor running. And not so small that they disappeared in one bite.My main was the Hannan’s roast topside of beef with mash, Yorkshire pudding, greens, roast potatoes and red wine jus. Only 2 very small observations, needed a wee bit more of that jus and the plate needed to be bigger. They were NOT SHY with the portions either and everything on my plate was sublime. They clearly mistook me for Jabba the Hutt. (For those of you who don’t know Hannan’s products by the way, they represent a real benchmark in the food industry).Now for the finale, sticky toffee pudding and ice cream. Again, not shy on the portion and the sponge was dark and moist and sticky and.......I could go on but just go get some. Absolutely delicious and I totally wiped the dish clean with my finger. In the window. I would have licked the bowl but the birthday girl would have smashed it over my head (always the good girl that one).I was a bit dubious about our visit as my first and only time was a complete disaster. That was a long time ago and I thought all the good reviews can’t be wrong. Also a chef I know had been and recommended it. I am so glad I gave SHED another chance. Very friendly efficient service despite being packed on a Saturday lunchtime prior to Ulster rugby game.Food was excellent the Scallops starter the best I have had in a long while.The lunchtime mains were great value for money.We had the flat iron crostini and the steak was cooked just as requested , great flavour and peppercorn sauce.Only problem with this restaurant is that I wish it was just down the road from me in England so I could go every week!

First time here. Service really slow. Menu offered 2 mains for £15 but in reality you only get 2 starter portions. Food mediocre. Def not worth a return visit. Had to ask twice for Parmesan. Staff surly.

Went here as a group from work. Excellent from start to finish everyone found something they were looking for. Service of very high standard but not intruding. Everyone dressed very causally but don’t let them fool you they are all professionals and clearly know what they are doing. Kitchen is open and you can watch chefs cook. This place runs like clockwork. They even take your coats when you come in. We stayed in nearby b&b while on business trip and I’d recommend it highly. It was hard enough to get a table if this restaurant was in city centre there’s no way we’d get seated last night!

Absolutely amazing looking menu at reasonable prices. Greeted by the friendliest staff. Great atmosphere in this buzzing restaurant. All our meals were delicious. Can't fault this place at all. Would definitely be back. Regret not visiting before now. Well done team

Dined here today and have very mixed opinions on this place. On the positive the staff were lovely and very attentive. I ordered a glass of red wine to be told they had run out of Australian red. The waitress then explained there may have been a bottle out back they could give us a glass of. Wine definitely overpriced considering this is a bistro out of town. We then ordered haddock to be told they had run out of haddock. Rather than ask for menu again we just settled for 2 beef dinners. I was shocked however when I got the bill at the end to see these cost £16.95 each. Although quite tasty, definitely not worth that price. Unfortunately i did not feel I could afford more than three stars ti this restaurant.

Amazing food matched by fantastic service! Shed is consistently excellent and the staff so attentive and friendly. Highlight of this meal was the coconut rice pudding dessert and the best White Russian in Belfast. So lucky to have this gem on our doorstep but worth the journey from further afield!

Food was average, service was good but wine is pretty expensive, ask for the wine list!! I had two glasses so when I asked what selection they had the waiter listed 5 with Malbec sited first. It was £9 per glass. We didn’t know until the bill came. This is a bistro for heavens sake.

Had an absolutely fantastic meal on Sunday - we had a combination of meals from the main menu and the Christmas menu. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Fuimos al bar a esperar que prepararan nuestra mesa y no pasó mucho tiempo antes de que nos sentáramos y miramos los menús y nos resultara difícil elegir tanto como pudimos comer. . . ¡al final decidimos ir al menú de Navidad! El personal fue muy amable y atento a pesar de que estaba ocupado! Realmente me gustó que pudiéramos ver la comida preparada y lista para servir, no tardó mucho en llegar. El bistro tiene un ambiente encantador, especialmente con las decoraciones navideñas y la música tranquila, que no era demasiado ruidosa y capaz de ponerse al día con mi esposo. ¡Realmente recomiendo el vino blanco de Nueva Zelanda en el menú de bebidas que podría haber pedido la botella! Booked a table for two. When we arrived we were seated and asked if we would like drinks. Nothing arrived and we had to request our drinks from another waitress.

We always visit when in Belfast. Food was outstanding as always and the New Look really gave it a great buzz. Staff is very friendly and the place was packed! Our favourite spot by far.

Went out with my friend for a pre Christmas treat and we weren't disappointed. Although I'm not the biggest fan of Turkey the meat was moist and the veg yummy. Will be back in a few weeks for my friends birthday and can't wait!

Was in Shed recently and had a decent meal. I had chicken with dauphinoise potatoes and veg. While the chicken was good the potatoes were very dry. My partner had fish and chips which were good. My main oncern is the price of the wines. The cheapest I believe is £22 and a Marlborough was £31 while a Malbec was even more expensive. Shed is a bistro with bench seating so you are really close to other customers and we were facing the cooking area so we really had to raise our voices at times to be heard. In my opinion, as someone who eats out a lot, they really need to reduce the price of their wines. There are many superior restaurants with much better seating and ambience offering more reasonably priced wines.

A nice bistro for lunch. Quite small but comfortable with friendly service and you are not too close to the people beside you. Lots of “lunch” sized portions as well as choices of more substantial meals if you are really hungry

On first entering the restaurant, it was apparent that we definitely needed our reservation. It was busy and therefore packed!

Visited the Shed on Friday night with some friends. Friendly staff, interesting decor and refectory style dining. Menu fine with plenty of choice. Three of us had the chicken curry brioche which tasted out of this world. Timing perfect and relaxed dining. Drink presentation was lovely although I did do a double take at the tap water being served from a wine bottle. We had a large bowl of coconut flavoured rice with spiced plums for dessert, which we all shared. Gorgeous.

Great food, good service and pleasant ambience. The new layout with the extra table works well. The second entrance door cuts out the draught problem that previously existed.The red upholstered seating is both comfortable and attractive.

My boyfriend and myself visited tonight - on arrival we loved the idea of the open kitchen and the fact that our coats were taken right away. The staff were so lovely and attentive without being too intrusive. We eat out quite often as it’s something we both enjoy doing together and tonight we had one of the best meals we’ve ever had. Great selection of wine, amazing menu probably one of the best I’ve seen in Belfast and if you go you MUST HAVE the pigeon starter, I can’t stop thinking about it. Thank you so much, we will definitely be returning and regular costumers!

Heard great reports of this bistro so decided to experience for ourselves. From walking through the door the hospitality was warm and welcoming. The atmosphere was lively with great music and the sound of diners enjoying their evening.

We went to the bistro, because I had nothing prepared for dinner, and Wednesday is steak night at Shed. The bistro has had a make-over since our last visit. It looks very well. We ate early and the restaurant wasn't too busy. We had a starter and a steak each, with a bottle of wine. £50!

Absolutely love this place! Great food, great atmosphere and great staff. Every dish is fabulous and had the best dessert ive had for long time this evening. Higly recommended.

Was looking forward to the “new look” Shed. Very disappointing. Starter left on counter too long after “service” called and main course (steak) over seasoned. Waiter indicated it was my fault for adding rock salt to chips.....but the chips weren’t the issue! Over priced, over seasoned and over rated!

We went early on friday evening. Staff very welcoming. My bread starter was excellent - sourdough bread with lots of dips and tapenade. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. Everything was beautifully presented. The service was attentive and friendly throughout our stay. This is one of our favourite restaurants and we noticed the decor has been tastefully updated.

We were looking for somewhere to eat on the Ormeau Rd before going to an event and on checking on Trip advisor found Shed Bistro despite a couple of negative reviews and having read the response to one of these we decided to give it a go.I have learned to take a balanced view of all reviews.

Disgusting experience today for Sunday dinner! Sitting eating our mains when 4 members of staff 2 of whom who were from the back kitchen and covered in dirty upons with food sat right beside us! Such an unpleasant experience and when we complained to the head chef he was so ignorant and aggressive to my mother offering no apology. You should be EMBARRASSED of your head chefs behaviour and the fact you would sit dirty members of kitchen staff beside paying customers!! We felt sick and put completely put of our meals! Food is really average too!! Environmental health will be getting contacted as this is against hygiene standards!!

This was my first time dining at Shed Bistro and it most definitely will not be my last! The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and professional. The interior of the restaurant was immaculate and THE FOOD!!!! The food was perfectly cooked and perfectly presented. The variety of the menu made me panic order as I could not possible choose what to order, there was so much choice! I ordered the Cajun Spiced Chicken Brioche and did I regret it? aAbsolutely not. I will definitely be back to try the other dishes!

Not a big fan of the "make-over"! The red seating is too harsh and the restaurant looks even smaller. The waiters were not particularly friendly and I feel they could have a smarter appearance. However the food was fine although I noted that prices had increased. Don't think I will be back which is a shame as it was a nice place to eat.

A small resturant with a big heart excellent food and really good service ...I had scallops amazing followed by roasted cod and them panna cotta really enjoyable evening good value for money would recommend

Been here 3 times now as a family of 4...it's actually our eldest son's first choice for Sunday lunch. Great value and service. Locally sourced produce and value for £ without compromising taste or creative cooking. We will be back 😁

First time here. Quite full for a thursday evening. Shared bread + tapenade to start- just ok- bread a bit boring. Rump steak for us both- cooked medium- very pink but one of the most tender steaks I have had in a long time! Gorgeous!

Had lunch today in the newly refitted Shed Bistro, food and ambience was as good as ever with the rotisserie chicken and dauphinois potato the star of the show!! The refurbishment is a great success and looks as good as anything you’d see in NY or London. Restaurant was packed as always and service was excellent!

We've had dinner here many times, as we can walk from home - how handy is that? Truthfully though, even if we had to travel to eat at Shed, we'd do it.

I have yet to be dissapointed with the food at this restaurant, I was at a large family gathering a couple of months ago and the food and service were consistent with the previous time there, which was my wifes birthday, I had the burger and my wife had the vegetarian burger, both were great, we both look forward to our next visit.

Lovely food, freshly cooked. We were in Shed for lunch on a day that saw the rollout of the new menu; the tofu dish was lovely, and so great to get a non-meat option with imagination. Very nice front-of-house team. Will return.
