AMPM in Belfast

First time having high tea at AMPM! I don't usually go for this kind of thing. But WOW! I really enjoyed it food was fantastic. Atmosphere is so relaxed. As a treat I would absolutely recommend. 10/10

Very cosy and romantic. Beautifully decorated

The food is great quality and well presented. We thoroughly enjoyed our starters (large portions) along with the Sunday Roast and Burger. Drinks were equally well presented and good quality. The staff were very attentive and friendly amidst the great atmosphere. The restaurant borders a little on tacky and camp rather than sophistication but that's very much our style and had a great time. highly recommend and great value.

Really good to celebrate events!

Please note, all of this information was sent to establishment privately but they chose to ignore my feedback. Attended for afternoon tea, service slow and although the place was empty three different staff seemed to be working our table in a totally uncoordinated way. Very little choice of drinks with the afternoon tea, as in no decaff options, if a soft drink ordered in place of hot drink you will be charged separately for it . Take away pastries given in boxes not suitable for pastry and one had long hair and an eye lash attached to it. Furthermore, the ladies toilets were being used by a client from another area of the venue to live stream on social media! Hardly what you expect when using the rest room. Would not recommend for afternoon tea. Very disappointing experience!

Unique restaurant with quirky decor and great food options.

A perfect afternoon tea in beautiful surroundings with pleasant service at a reasonable price. Just the right amount of food, quality finger sandwiches and fresh warm scones along with amazing selection of mini desserts. You can add on any tea or coffee you prefer and their flat white was delicious.

Not the best experience sadly, we go upstairs to the cabaret super club regularly for shows and the staff ore second to none, always a good time, however downstairs was a big let down, food was okay but the service.... we were seated quickly and then that was the last I saw of the waitress, waited for ages and ended up going to the bar to order, food was dropped off a while later and never saw the waitress again not even to check how we were, paid and left, the fact that there is a service fee for receiving no service is crazy to me

We spended a great family evening in AMPM. 110% we recommend this restaurant. Atmosfere, decor, hospitality and the staff were very helpfully. We think about NEXT visit already.

Absolutely loved this little restaurant. Superb food for both my omni husband and my vegan self. He had the duck, which he said was perfectly cooked and served with top quality vegetables. My curry was so tasty I practically scraped the pattern off the plate and the vegan banoffi was to die for. We ate in the quiet bit, which was elaborately and beautifully decorated with chandeliers, flowers and warm colours. The tables are gorgeous marble with gold streaks, which are meticulously cleaned and polished after each diner has finished. You can slao eat in the attached part which is a cabaret venue. Totally would recommend anyone.

A great place for a night out or just afternoon tea. There is an extensive drinks menu and although the menu isn't large,all our choices were delicious. The show we saw tonight was great fun and the atmosphere was one of fun and laughter. The performance was really well done. You buy the meal( a main) with the show for £39.95 which is reasonable but can become pricey when you start adding dessert and cocktails!

Really quirky restaurant. Beautiful place. Great food with an excellent cocktail menu. Popular place for stag and hen parties to dine before their night takes off. Staff really nice.

We were stuck in a corner where everyone was passing by..and it was really busy,that was the annoying bit.But....the staff were absolutely amazing,accommodated my friends and l as we were all over the place doing a photoshoot while celebrating and eating.The food was absolutely amazing.lt is slightly on the higher priced side but we were all happy with what we got.Most of us got a strawberry Daiquiri, it was average.All in a great place but because its so cramped l wouldn't go back.Maybe for the cabaret and not just dining

Really cramped seating. It was like sitting at the same table as the person next to you. Dirty glasses. The servers aren’t welcoming. I didn’t want to order an alcoholic drink with dinner, ordered water and had the waitress be rude about it. Cocktails were just way too expensive for myself. Went for the decor and look of the place, that’s probably the only thing nice about AMPM.

Food options are very limited. Ambience is great but lighting, not so much.

We went in as a family of 5. We sat down and everything seemed fine. We ordered 3 of there burgers, 1 sea bass and a kids tenders. As the burgers came out, one of the burgers looked completely different to the other 2 and it was cold. It was completely different as it was missing a burger meat 🤣. When they supposedly made a “fresh” burger it just came back microwaved. Unfortunately we then found a PIECE OF WOOD in the burger meat. The sea bass was full of small bones and it was completely bland. There was no warning on the menu of possible bones. Yes we understand that you might find the odd one or two bones but the fish was full of bones. We then got a side of triple fried chips. The chips tasted like hand sanitizer. They weren’t edible. The food is very pricey for what you get. Not to mention the tummy aches that we and the children had on our way home. NEVER AGAIN! DONT RECOMMEND.

Had the best afternoon with a group of friends for your lunch and show. The service was impeccable. We all enjoyed every part of the experience. Amazing thank you

We went today for late lunch/early dinner we have been here a few times before and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere however this time was totally disappointing and we will not be back or recommending this to anyone as it simply was over priced chicken and chips!! We ordered the Bohemian chicken which when it finally arrived was dry and tasteless. The glaze and Soy dressing was nowhere to be seen and when asked if we enjoyed our meal the girl behind the bar ws less than apologectic when we said it was dry and tasteless. An expensive mistake!!!

Lunch away from the office...a treat ! Top marks to the chef. We all agreed food was really good. Ate Massaman vegan curry flavout was so good. One of my colleagues ate the katsu chicken bowl dush. Decor is dazzling! Great location, mins walk from Belfast City Hall. Recommend!

The food and setting was gorgeous but disappointed as the online menu came up cheaper. Steak 24.90 and when you got in it was 35 and too late to leave as there was a booking deposit. Please update your prices online as it’s misleading.

AFTERNOON TEA My friend and I had a lovely afternoon tea all the food was fresh, sandwiches, scone and cream devine and the selection of desserts were beautiful Staff very attentive and even gave us an extra pot of tea as it took us so long to eat everything Really nice experience would certainly recommend

The performance was fab for first half. Totally reminiscent of Dolly. The venue consistently tried to charge us over n over the 10% service charge after we had paid for meal n everyone split off in their own groups regarding drinks. Lizzie was fab sorting this out. Seriously, ampm are you trying to alienate people?

This is an amazing restaurant! Food and drinks are top notch and presentation of both fabulous. The decor is out of this world , trailing flowers , chandeliers and baubles in pink theme, this would be beautiful for girly brunch /catch up too. We booked in advance as coming from Galway and didn’t want to be disappointed if we landed without booking. Staff are fantastic, the guy minding us was so attentive and polite. Even called a taxi for us as it was raining out. Will return 😊

came in for dinner last night, tried speaking to the blond girl on bar(seemed to be a manager of sort) to which i was ignored, after being ignored time and time again i was sat near the bar and heard all the comments made. Then went to pay the bill and when i told the barmaiden that my bill was incorrect she shrugged and changed it, not once asked if i was okay, if the food was okay or even a smile. think ampm needs to understand that even the bar staff need to be trained in customer service

Extremely disappointed with the service and some of the staff in AMPM. I booked in advance via email and telephone for a larger group and when we arrived they had the time wrong, to which the staff member wasn’t impressed even tho I had email proof of the booking which I showed. The number of people for the reservation was wrong too and the food orders that had been present via email weren’t all accounted for on the night. When I approached one particular staff member it was obvious that she wasn’t impressed and had an attitude when I asked for the table to be set for the correct amount of people as it hadn’t been once we were allocated the table. Frustrating as it was for a hen do and it put a dampener on the night for everyone. I wouldn’t recommend AMPM for larger groups especially if it’s for an occasion. Very disappointed, especially with the staff member and her attitude.

Lovely querky restaurant, and the food is amazing and well priced. Staff good.

Very basic menu and a bit expensive

The place is so beautifully decorated it's a shame the food isn't great. Our main meal was cold and was a tough duck. The service was great however we were left with no cutlery so had me not searched out a staff member we'd have been waiting for a while & our food would have gotten colder than it already was. The drinks menu is currently limited at the moment (which we weren't aware of beforehand) overall I doubt we would be back to the restaurant.

Afternoon tea for 5.... Highly recommended. Sandwiches, scones and mini cakes were delicious!

Murder mystery evening. Two course meal. Enjoyable evening. Good food. Limited choice of meal.

We had our wedding lunch/dinner here and I can't praise it enough. Food was amazing, staff very attentive and the decor of the Cocktail Lounge made the whole experience magical for us.

Great atmosphere, great service and plenty of food options. Reasonably priced food and drink and options suitable for young children. We fed 6 adults and two hungry children for around £120... and that included drinks (2 gins and I had a much needed large glass of wine!)

The night was brilliant, murder mystery event. Laughs and nearly choking on the performance. Food delicious what we had, but could do with more variety. My show was paid for. People needs too realise ordering more drink after the glass of procceso welcome drink, is going to cost more. What you see on their list of drinks menu, there is additional cost. I found this out after ordering 2 bottles of rose at say £25. It cost me £62 odds. So watch what you order after you pay for the advent. Really was a good night Must add I was a winner who solve the mystery.

The beef was amazing, decor is fab

£8.20 for a tiny sliver of cheesecake. Thought it was a children’s portion. Burger was ok. Chips were mostly scraps . Service charge is apparently added to all bills regardless of party size . A first for me . There are much better places to eat in Belfast.

Son purchased two tickets for Xmas present..cost of four tickets was charged to his account, which he is still trying to get refund for two. On our arrival at venue on January 17th we were informed that the event had been cancelled. No notification had been received prior. Girl at AMPM was very apologetic and offered a drink. Hopefully my son will receive a full refund for all four tickets charged.

the atmosphere of this restaurant was outstanding, i was recommended this place from my friend who had afternoon tea here. me and my boyfriend went for our anniversary but chose to get dinner instead, we decided to treat ourselves and order a starter, two mains a side and a cocktail. prices were very expensive so i was atleast expecting decent food. my ciabatta came out more like a soggy baguette and unmelted slabs of american cheese. the duck macaroni for our side came out with NO DUCK, small bits of flimsy bacon and some other squishy substance and watery gross tasteless sauce, my boyfriend had gotten rice which wasn’t that bad but most of it was just over priced slop, i’m extremely disappointed as we went here over six by nico which we found expensive but actually has good food, which we should’ve went instead as IT CAME OUT CHEAPER THAN HERE!! £70 for below average food, cashier asked me how it was and i mentioned it was OK, disappointed… she didn’t hear or maybe didn’t care. won’t be back.

Excellent food and service! It was a great experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We liked very much the cocktails and the food was amazing. It was a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely go back soon!

Gents toilets in disrepair, and dirty

А так еда была очень вкусная, приветливый персонал и хороший сервис! Очень уютный и классный интерьер , правда очень сильно дуло внизу сидений. Понравилось новогоднее украшение !

This restaurant is overrated. 60$ for a starter and a main course and a « free » glass of prosceco for the new year eve !!! We didn’t even have the time to finish our glass of prosceco that the starter was served. And right after it the main course. I mean, it’s new year night, let us breathe! Cherry on the cake, the porter was rude, nasty. He has little power and uses it the bad way. If we hadn’t pre-paid 30$, we would have left. Well, run!

Bizarre New Year's Eve experience, including over priced food and zero atmosphere. The staff did their best to turn the experience around, and offered us plenty of complimentary drinks but unfortunately we had already paid for the 'exclusive New Year package' where the dj didn't even do a count down....

The decor was amazing! Really cozy environment and the atmosphere was nice too! Food was amazing! We had a set 3 course menu for NYE, really good value. Would highly recommend the duck and the duck macaroni! Service was great too. Waitress was very attentive throughout the course of the meal and even offered some recommendations. Overall a great experience, would definitely go back. 10/10.

We went to prepaid show and a supposed three course meal. The meal in reality was decent but the first course was the tiniest tartlet almost minuscule usually a free taster in most decent restaurants amuse - vouches. We then had to pay separately for our desert that we had presumed was part of the three course meal advertised. A rip of service fee of £48.17 was added as a compulsory extra that we were not told about . There were only four in our party. The entertainment was an insult to even the most amateur of productions and the amount of obscene and foul language abysmal ! No dance floor ! There was no live instrumentals or band. The whole evening cost circa £500 for four people that did include a couple of bottles of wine and some drinks (not a lot of other drink I might add). The service was excellent in fairness but over all I would say “buyer beware” not value for money at all and very disappointing.

Went for New Year’s Eve. The menu was overpriced: £60 for a three course meal with a glass of prosecco but desserts were not included; instead a small appetizer counted as the first course...We paid £148 in total for two (two menus + 2 glasses of wine + service) and left before 11pm as there was no special atmosphere. The DJ started playing but there was no space to dance and enjoy yourself. Very deceiving.

Our New Year’s Eve experience fell short of expectations. Despite arriving promptly at 9, we were left waiting outside in the cold for over 10 minutes. Disappointingly, the staff forgot to bring the pre-starter, a caramelised onion tartlet, as part of the NYE experience menu. Additionally, it was surprising to discover that dessert was not included and came at an extra cost, which was unexpected considering the package details. Essentially, the meal comprised 2 courses for £60 per person plus a 10% service charge. For a total of over £140 for two people, the value didn’t align with the service or food quality received. Moreover, the ambiance lacked the anticipated New Year’s Eve vibe

I attended ampm to celebrate new year’s eve, from start to finish i was wowed by the kind, caring nature of the staff; nothing was too much of an ask and the two young girls and one young man who served the restaurant that evening where a credit. I started with the soup which was delightful followed by the roast chicken supreme. Although as i left the restaurant i noticed as i waited inside on my taxi that a table close to the door where audibly mocking the waiting team and being very rude to the staff (the waiting team being between roughly in their early 20s and the guests at said table being around 30). All in all me and my party had one of the best nights we have had in years while in ampm. I wish i had gotten the names of the waiters as i would’ve sang their praises to the managers. To the team at AMPM restaurant i thank you for giving YOUR new year’s eve to allow to enjoy ours and will be returning as soon as possible.

I didn't have the chance to try this restaurant. But all I want to share is this. They charge 20£ for booking, and on their website, they don't mention that it's non refundable. Had to cancel the booking 3 days prior my reservation. You deserve all the 1 star reviews that you get!

AMPM is a great wee restaurant! The food is delicious, as are the drinks - and they look amazing too! Absolutely love the decor inside, it's really wacky and fun; honestly spent the first ten minutes just looking at absolutely everything around me. My partner and I really enjoyed our visit and were well impressed with everything, highly recommend the curry! The bathroom was clean and followed the same funky decor - love the roses on the ceiling and pink everything! Will definitely be back soon.

The food was nice enough but 6 of us were put at a table that would normally sit 4. Staff were exceptionally busy and we had to wait to place drinks orders.

Booked a table and they took a £60 deposit and was told the table would be kept for us for 2 hours, we where going to arrive late and we got in contact and where told this wouldn’t be an issue. Upon arrival we were told they basically had given our table away leaving us stranded with zero options. Will never be back, appalling service!

I'm writing with a heavy heart and sheer disappointment about my recent experience at this establishment. It was meant to be a memorable day for us, one we've been looking forward to, but it turned into a complete letdown. Despite reserving our table with a hefty £60 deposit, we arrived only to find our table had been given away – no explanation, no apology. This isn't just about losing a table; it's about a total disregard for customer commitment and ruining a special occasion. It's frustrating and disheartening. I hope no one else has to go through this kind of experience, especially on a day that means so much. This was not just a reservation mix-up; it was a failure in basic customer respect and service.

Go anywhere else. Had booked + paid a deposit for a family special occasion. We were running late through no fault of our own and contacted in advance to ask for delaying our booking. We were reassured that the table would be held for 2 hours, so planned accordingly. The family travelled across the city and were 30 mins late for our original timing. Upon arrival the staff had dismantled our table to accommodate a walk in, despite assuring us the table was held. The staff weren't accommodating simply replying "we've re-jiggled the tables so we can fit all 6 of you in a 4 person table" They proceeded to give excuses that their automated online response AI isn't monitored etc etc. Really unhelpful + left us stranded on the week before Christmas with everywhere else booked up. Should have gone to nandos

Went on Saturday 9th Dec 2023 .. table was booked for 18 people for a works dinner - we arrived at 6:50pm and most of us were asked to stand outside in the cold as the table wasn’t ready, we got in at 7:25pm and then asked to leave table by 9pm .. dinner seemed rushed and we felt like we were a number and not a guest .. we would avoid Christmas dinner here as better welcoming at a Mc Donald’s .. and let’s not talk about the rip off service charge ..

Quite disappointing value for money. Had our staff do here last night for £30pp and there was quite a few of us there so all in we paid close to a grand for the room. Food wasnt served until after 10 and was only chicken goujons, chips and sliders? Definitely not worth the money we paid with so little options. We were told there would be a dj who was request friendly. The dj was in the other room and when asked to play a song told us he couldnt because its a restaurant. This was not what we were led to expect. The room itself was just off the main part and had 4 tables and no privacy as customers walked through the room to go the toilets. Also drink service was table service only and staff were slow to come around. More often than not we had to go to the bar or chase down ordered drinks. Eventually we were allowed to order at the bar which somehow was cheaper than ordering directly with the servers at our tables. Strange. Overall the place is gorgeous and decorated beautifully but for a work do or function I would not use the venue again or recommend to others.

Do NOT book here for Christmas dinner Had booked here for a work Christmas dinner, just shy of 10 people, I am still questioning as to why it was £40pp The starter was 3 chicken nugget sized bits of chicken with a bit of sweet chilli sauce, tasted like it was bought in a packet from Iceland The mains was dire, it was one of them pre made dinners you would buy from lynnas food outlet for £3-4, little strip of turkey and strip of ham, mash potato’s 3 sprouts and 1 roastie, absolutely no vegetables which I don’t know about you guys but roast veg is a staple of Christmas dinner like the one roastie just gave me such a howl. A girl got a big chunk of plastic in her dinner. The table we had pre booked was 15 minutes late I got a kopperberg cider it was £8, a por* star martini was £15 - sickening prices. I guess it’s a shame I love supporting local but £40 for a microwave sub standard dinner, at £40 you expect at least fresh cooked. Was on power with the £15-20 pub Christmas dinners you get but at least they advertise it as such. Ended up spending over £50 (a days wages) on the £40 dinner £8 pint and the ‘service charge’ Leaving this as a warning not to spend your money here, I work for minimum wage and this was suppose to be a treat, and sad to spend this much and not enjoy it. very disappointed didn’t stick around long afterwards

Possibly the worst service we have ever had while out. Had to ask to order our drinks and ask again to order our food as nobody came to our table after we were seated. Our food was just dropped on our table and waiter disappeared, had to ask for sauces to which we were given salt & pepper, asked again for sauces and was given mayo that had obviously been sat out all day. Nobody cleared plates so eventually just asked for the bill. No surprised but nobody asked how was our meal/ was everything okay for us. Had different waiter/ waitress for every interaction. Food was okay but service was absolutely awful.

Very poor experience food very average.Quite cold in areas of the restaurant number of people with their coats on .We did bring this to the attention of staff . Entertainment amateur at best .Will not be visiting again .

Really good afternoon tea. All of the food was delicious. The decor is funky and very unique. The place has a very chilled, relaxed vibe. The staff were okay. Not overly friendly but okay. The only big negative for me was the coffee was really bad. If they could make nicer coffee it would be almost perfect!

It was our 33 Wedding Anniversary!! The food was delicious and the staff Excellent. Our waiter was Oliver!! He was topnotch!!!

Lovely decor and food, I had the chicken strips with chips which was great. Service wasn’t the best - it was difficult to sort out the bill, they forgot to take our £50 deposit off and weren’t that attentive.

Went on a Sunday evening and it was fairly quite and bright so the atmosphere wasn't great. The duck main course was good but I also went for the Millionaires fries.... it wasn't worth it. A whole lot of fries with some bacon isn't worth £10.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Vegetarian Charcuterie Board was beautiful and filling for the 5 of us along with a potion of fries. Loved the decor.

Must say uve partied wined and dined here many of times. I just find staff and event manager who u spoken with briefly to get information on booking wedding etc. She was very sharp, dismissive and off putting by her role of control going to her head. Sad as its such a lovely place

The food was mediocre, and the wine I wanted wasn't in stock yet I was there early. The service was nonexistent, could barely get glasses or cutlery. The waiting staff kept their heads down, so unable to grab their attention. A service charge was added...

Me and my partner travelled from Derry to visit this restaurant specifically. Waiting staff were friendly and obliging , but weren’t as attentive as they could have been & had to be prompted for additional drinks etc, We got a sharing platter it was fine...

We ordered a starter and main, the starter came before our drinks, then instantly after we finished that our mains had come. We was in and out within 40 mins, this was very unnerving. Made you feel like your food was cooked in a microwave

Booked AM/PM restaurant for my sisters hen party. Food was excellent and interior beautiful- perfect for the occasion. The service was incredible, always a worry when organising an event with a larger group but AMPM have this art mastered. The table recieved constant attention, orders were prompt but didn't feel rushed and the request of brining out desserts early to ensure we made our next booking was met with ease. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

Food was great. Relaxed, easy going atmosphere. Only thing that let it down was the service. Had to ask for knives and forks when the dinner came out. Had to remind them we ordered a side and then also go looking for the drinks. Wouldn't stop me going back. Great food and thankfully the chef realises you need a slice of bread with muscles.

Fantastic food of ample servings. We both had the daube of beef, which was divine. The surroundings are unique in choice and very individual, fitting in with the theme of the Cabaret Bar, above. If you are looking for something more elaborate in menu selection, we would definitely recommend this restaurant.
