We've been here for a week and had breakfast every day. There's a good choice of food and the staff and service are exceptional. Billy always has a smile and is super helpful and friendly, offering us a table with a better view of the river when possible and making us feel like very valued guests. Would definitely recommend.

My husband and I visited Belfast and stayed at The Marriot Hotel. We booked the breakfast within the hotel. Lovely setting overlooking the river, spotlessly clean and excellent service. Lots of variety for breakfast and food was warm and fresh. Definitely recommend

Our experience at Novelli at City Quays in Belfast left us absolutely thrilled with both the service and the food. Our first encounter with the restaurant was a refreshing iced coffee after a long day exploring Belfast. The server was exceptional, incredibly friendly, and provided us with valuable tips on what to see in the city. She took the time to ask about our background, making us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. Later that evening, we returned for dinner and were treated to an unforgettable culinary experience. My spouse indulged in the Italian breadsticks with black olive tapenade, followed by the delightful chorizo Frito al vino. Meanwhile, I savored the focaccia with olive oil and balsamic, exactly as I had hoped for, and the beetroot & jawbone gin cured salmon, bursting with bright flavors. Our server for the evening was equally fantastic, engaging us in delightful conversation and displaying genuine kindness throughout our meal. The atmosphere at Novelli at City Quays was simply charming, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable dining experience. From the warm and welcoming service to the delectable dishes, every aspect of our visit exceeded our expectations.

There was an excellent choice of hot and cold food for breakfast. We were served by a brilliant man called Billy who couldn't do enough for us. Beautiful hotel and wonderful staff. 5 stars.

Went here previously and got a good evening meal. So went back to take a friend out for lunch. It was like chalk and cheese! Before going I booked over the phone and was told re the menus available - well, 2 of the three menus apparently didn’t apply at lunchtime after being told that they were! Food was average this time. Probably (and sadly) unlikely to go back

Here in Belfast on business and we happened to find a restaurant open on a Monday evening. Have to say that the food was very good and reasonably priced given that it was a Novelli restaurant. Hannah, our waitress was superb; friendly, attentive and all round brill. Enjoyed the food which did not disappoint and would recommend wholeheartedly.

I enjoyed a delightful dinner with my partner, complemented by excellent cocktails. The staff, especially Hany, were exceptionally kind and crafted the most delicious cocktails for us.

We were staying at the hotel on a family vacation and met Billy each morning at b-fast. In our jet-lagged stupor, Billy went out of his way to make sure we all got what we needed. Billy also took the time to engage with us, find out what we were seeking on our vacation and offer recommendations. He was one of the first people we met on our trip - and his friendly demeanor set the tone for the rest of our experience.

Updated 25/12/23 Having stayed at the hotel and dined at Novelli several times over the last few years it is forever impressive. Value for money is second to none in Belfast, staff always excellent, special mention to Billy, who loves a chat. I plan to visit several times in 2024, struggle to find any fault at all and very much recommended.

Fantastic food, what a view, superb staff (with a special mention for Billy, could talk for Ulster), easily the best valued and my number one choice in Belfast for any meal.

This place was suggested to us from leaving an event in the Harbour Commissioner Building. So we thought, yes, that sounds good. But...what an absolute disappointed with the service, food and pricing! Waiting to order was very slow, drinks were slow to arrive and as for food.... very very slow to arrive. When the food did arrive the only thing that was hot was the plate! My husband ordered a 10oz Ribeye with trimmings and i ordered the Fish in batter. Both meals were just lukewarm, the fish and portions of chips were soggy and 'bendy' when lifted with the fork. The fish just went into mush when i tried to lift it and as it was laid on a bed of peas it just mixed in with the peas, tartar sauce and 'mushy' chips. The entire plate was get a complete wet messy slop! My husband's steak was full of inedible lines of sinew, the mushroom and tomato were fine but the peppered sauce was really thin & tasteless. £32 for the steak & £18.50 for the fish plus an extra 10% service charge!!!! Absolutely disgraceful how anyone could serve up this low standard inedible sloppy food and at such cost. We'd pay double if the food was palatable and enjoyable. The food felt and appeared according to textures as if it had been sitting in a heated server for quite some time. We definitely will not be back and would not recommend this restaurant to any diner. Overall very very poor!!!

We had this restaurant one night while staying in the hotel. It was very underwhelming and over priced. The dining room was a nice setting but the service was poor. The staff weren't just inattentive but had poor attitudes as well. We also had breakfast one morning. Extremely overpriced and just okay. There are lots of cafes and restaurants within walking distance, I suggest going elsewhere.

After a long walk restaurant search trek through the downtown area, we ended back up at the AC Hotel. Lots of great places, but none of them seem like they would be as good as Novelli back at the Marriott where we started. I am so glad we decided to eat here. I went there for dinner, the place is superb, chic, modern and élegant.✨️✨️ It’s calm and relaxing 😀 If the weather is nice, ask to be on the terrace you will have a nice view of the port. (Titanic District)🚢 The waiter are attentive to my needs; I asked to be seated next to a plug; I was able to do it. And they immediately brought me a jug of water without me asking. I ordered the 3 dishes: “Frito chorizo ​​al vino” “Belfast black and brisket pie”🥧 "Creme brulée" The dishes that were served to me was very good😋 the cooking was perfect, meat was tender and the puff pastry of the "vol au vent" is like a work of art. I think that the value for money is justified. However, there is a bit of a lack of vegetables on the plates. for example for the starter to counterbalance the flavor of the chorizo ​​why not add a few grilled tomatoes🍅🌶🧄 with Herbes de Provence this would bring a little tangy juicy side which goes very well with the flavor of Chorizo... “Artisan” pizzas are a cardboard mass produced base with what tastes like sauce from a jar, and scant toppings. Other menu items are bland and uninspiring. Staff are well-meaning but clearly lack experience and organisation. At weekends they have a live musician, which lifts the atmosphere. Nice comfy seats on the terrace outside but for some reason the L-shaped sofas all face the motorway instead of the more attractive view in the other direction.

I came to AC Belfast for a conference and was mostly around Novelli's for breakfast as it was included with my room. Many of the breakfast staff were kind and helpful but hats go off to Billy who was an absolute gem. Extremely friendly, respectful...

My mother and uncle recently visited the restaurant for lunch. We would give zero stars if it was possible! Service non existent, food meagre and unpleasant. Cheeseboard for two was a disgrace, gnocchi was ok, sauce terrible and broccoli so raw the knife wouldn’t cut through it! Avoid at all costs.

We were part of 2 large tour groups descending upon the Novelli staff for breakfast in sequence. The staff including “Billy” were gracious, efficient and the food was great! We’ll done!

Food was good, brownie desert was not good maybe try the other deserts. I forgot to ask about the date night Wine so don’t forget to to do that! The waiting to be seated process needs to be changed, was confusing. Won’t be back but just because only need to try it once.

The service here is the worst I've ever seen. We had to wait 10 minutes to see a host to be seated, 20 minutes until our waitress saw us for the first and only time. After 50 minutes our main course was brought to the table, we never saw the first course. We sat with empty plates on the table until a different waitress came and took them away.

My family and I ate at Novello on Saturday and the food was awful, my daughter ordered a steak medium it was very well done, I ordered a pear and blue cheese salad. The pear was poached and had no flavour and the blue cheese had been melted so the whole dish was greasy and flavourless. My main was a BLT ordered on granary bread, what arrived was a cheap supermarket brown bread sandwich with awful bacon and oven chips. Overall the experience was terrible and I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody and will not be returning. £120 for 4 people, overpriced and not worth it!

I was shocked by the poor quality of food on offer at dinner. The first photo attached was meant to be “gnocchi”, which was actually just fried potato and marinara sauce/ketchup. I sent it back and got the risotto, which was frozen peas and full of garlic clove butts (photos also attached.) it’s possible that this was just a bad day for the restaurant, maybe the chef wasn’t there. Both my breakfast and lunch service were really lovely and the staff for breakfast and lunch were really wonderful.

ATE HERE ON MONDAY AFTERNOON. DIRECTED TO TABLE AND MENUS PRESENTED BUT NO DRINKS ORDER TAKEN. AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES WE ENDED UP APPROACHING THE STAFF TO TAKE AN ORDER. STAFF WERE CHATTING IN THE BAR AREA (RESTAURANT WAS NOT AT ALL BUSY - APPROX 6 COVERS) WHEN STAFF MEMBER APPEARED THEY WERE VERY ATTENTIVE, MANNERLY AND INFORMATIVE. ORDERED SANDWICHES, BOTH ON WHITE BREAD. ONE APPEARED ON GRANARY. THIS WAS REPLACED QUICKLY AND WITHOUT FUSS AND WE WERE ADVISED THAT 20% DISCOUNT OFF TOTAL BILL FOR THE ISSUE AND WAIT. REPLACEMENT WAS ON UNBUTTERED WHITE BREAD WHICH WAS QUERIED AND BUTTER REQUESTED. MANAGER THEN CAME TO TABLE AND ADVISED THAT KITCHEN NORM IS NOT TO BUTTER BREAD. DESPITE MY PARTNERS SANDWICH BEING VERY MARGINALLY BUTTERED. HE ALSO VERY GRACIOUSLY ADVISED THAT NO CHARGE FOR ONE SANDWICH AND STILL 20% OFF ANY OTHER CHARGES ESPECIALLY SINCE WE ADVISED THAT BREAD WAS NOT VERY FRESH. WE NOTICED THAT WHEN THE BILL ARRIVED THIS HAD BEEN APPLIED CORRECTLY AND THAT THE 10% DISCRETIONARY TIP (FROM THE SMALL PRINT ON THE MENU) HAD NOT BEEN APPLIED EITHER. NOT A TREMENDOUSLY SATISFACTORY EXPERIENCE FOR A GOLD ELITE MEMBER COMPARED TO OTHER MARRIOTTS IN IRELAND, USA, SPAIN WHERE WE HAVE NEVER HAD TO COMPLAIN BEFORE.

What amazing staff- they genuinely couldn't do enough for us. My sister-in-law had a broken leg and they opened a nearer door and moved us to a table near the door to give her a shorter walk. Then they organised a taxi for her afterwards....

The food was excellent but don't go there if you want a nice wine selection. For example, only 4 red wines to choose from! In addition, two cheap and slightly different glasses were provided. That has never happened to me, certainly not at a Michelin star chef restaurant.

We brought our Australian relative here and we had an amazing dinner. We had views of the Titanic building and H&W which was beautiful and the food was so good! Very well presented and cooked to perfection! The service was also really good! Very professional and friendly. Will definitely be back!

Nice restaurant in the AC Hotel on Donegal Quay. Great views of the harbor. Nice bar. For dinner I had the brisket pie. A ton of beef in gravy with a few vegetables and a pastry to. I thought it was very good and rich treating. The French onion soup has a touch of a sweet taste with a pastry to. No melted cheese which I would have liked... It's was an excellent soup anyways. Creme brulee was unusually large. Typical. I think you will enjoy it if you like creme brulee. We will return. Prices were 25 to 30 pounds per person.

Great food in a lovely location.

Had a very pleasant evening with our friendly waitress Hannah! Food was superb and came at a moments notice. Simple menu card gives very Good confidence in the quality of the Food. Atmosphere was really pleasant, overlooking the riverbank at sunset set the right tone.

The risotto was world class. The pie was also excellent. The Tarte tatin was crispy and sticky with a great ice cream pairing. The serving time was great and the staff were accommodating. I also stayed in the hotel and enjoyed the buffet breakfast on both days.

So disappointed, we waited over an hour on our sandwiches, tables around us were served and finished before us. Super location but sadly bit shocked food came very cold. Staff were Friendly and apologetic. 😞

What can I say. On my lunch break at work my co-worker and I went to Novellis (we are in the building next door). Traditionally the food has been good but the menu change is lack lustre. We arrived at 12:33 and a family of 5 who came in after us were seated, given their drinks within about 5 mins of us being able to actually order, said family had their meals. The waiter, while pleasant and entertaining did eventually arrive to take our order but only after we flagged him down to even place our order. We were sat for 20 mins before we were served and only because we had to ask to be served. Our mistake we should have left. Finally at 1:11pm, we asked for the food to go (I wanted to just cancel) we didn’t have our drinks or water at this stage either. Finally by 1:20 the tart was in a box and handed to us but I had to ask for utensils to go. The only positive was that besides a lame excuse (both my co-worker and I have worked in restaurants and my parents owned their own) was they didn’t charge us for the tart that well I could get better at M&S and the salad that accompanied it was drenched in something akin to store bought salad dressing from America. This isn’t the first time I have been to Novelli’s and had this happen and I could be understanding if they were busy but they weren’t. Fool me once shame on you fool me twice I’m never coming back.

I simply can't rate this restaurant highly enough, amazing fresh cooked food and very attentive and helpful service, amazing value for money
