Shatin in North Lanarkshire

Last week I had a lovely chicken chow mien. Went back again last night (Monday 4th November) to pick up my chicken chow mien. When I phoned to order I asked if they could add a few more beansprouts, which they said they would. When I got home, the whole meal was drowned in soya sauce. No extra beansprouts….if there was I couldn’t see them for soya sauce. I would post a pic but I had already poured half the soya sauce down the sink. It’s not my usual Chinese take away (my usual doesn’t do thick noodles) I will give the Shat in one more try as I know it’s very popular……but if I get chicken chow mien….soup!!!!! I won’t be back!!

30+ years I’ve been coming here and it’s honestly the best Chinese takeaway I have ever frequented. 10/10

Food was ok but gave the person a twenty pound note and was given change of a tenner and didn't realise until I got home. So will not use a business again that rips you off.

Staff not very welcoming or friendly and the food is crap the rice tasted burnt the chips were soggy and the curry sauce was bland chicken tasted under cooked didn't even taste like chicken

Firstly the shop needs a tidy up and refit. Plenty of on street parking to the front. On to the food. The mixed satay was lovely. Really good quality chicken and beef. Would highly recommend. So why only a 4 overall - well I also had pancake rolls - they were the greasiest I have ever seen - the oil came out of the bag they were in and covered everything else in the bag. Maybe I was just unlucky - was a real shame as they were well filled and very tasty.

Curry sauce like water. Salt and chilli chicken so salty we couldn't eat it. Not enjoyable at all.

2 curries delivered last night. Beef and chicken. Order was taken quick and delivered within a half hr This will be my new go to for curry, haven't enjoyed a beef curry like that for over 20yrs. Packed full of flavour and spice. Very tasty . The beef was thicker cut, not just the wee cheap thin strips you normally chase around the plate, chicken diced and again cooked to perfection. The rice was sooo fluffy for fried rice....no grease. Marked diff in quality. I've used them all over the yrs. Clearly why this wee place gets its repeat customers. Locals love it.

Ordered over £40 worth of food for the family as a treat. Salt n chilli chips tasted sweet as if was laced with sugar instead of salt. Chicken curry ordered breast def wasnt breast it was tiny cubes doubt it was even chicken and it was sweet. Beef chow mein ok but again was sweet. Never had a Chinese like it and thats not a compliment 😕

Workers were really helpful and lovely but Shatin literally made me Shatin ma pants xx

Nicest Chinese I’ve had in a long time. Beef and mushroom was prepared to my liking with a thick gravy and you could taste the freshness of the chicken curry. Delivered quickly and still hot. What’s not to like

got a salt und pepper chikin, fae hear, it wiz gid. the egg fried rice wiz gid. got the beef und black bean it wiz gid inaw. only hing wiz iz that they shatin my prauwn crakers. hehe get it cuz the place is called shatin, thought that wiz funny haha coybig ggtth watp

The foods ok but the woman who answers the call is difficult to deal with, stay 2.3 miles away still falls under Uddingston but charge £4 delivery Given one price on phone but driver asks for different price.

Order a breast of chicken curry & I can honestly say I have never seen chicken like that in my life,, it certainly wasn’t breast! It was brown & tuff to chew! Even the dog wouldn’t eat the chicken!

1st time trying this place & I really enjoyed a spicy beef chowMein (would recommend)

First time using this chinese and I must say I was thoroughly pleased with my meal . It was a 30 min wait which was great considering how busy it was. The curry was delicious and I'm quite fussy about my currys lol . Will be back

Ended up going here because none in my area was open... Was not dissapointed..Chicken curry, fried rice, noodles, salt and chilli chips.. Absolutely fantastic, deffo be going back.. Massive thumbs up👍

Larga espera por arroz y curry y una porción de papas fritas. Las patatas fritas apenas estaban cocidas y, por lo que parecía, no habían sido escurridas de aceite. Desde que Jimmy se hizo cargo, la brida pura no puede hacer chips. Si no puede entender los conceptos básicos como chips correctamente. . . bueno, solo puedo imaginar de qué más está hablando

Ordered a meal but only got half of it, foned them up only to be told they will give me a credit note. Not good enough. Wont fone them again.

Meals are great staff are very friendly, anyone I have recommend to this establishment only had good coments about their experience.

Went here for a takeaway and the place was lovely and clean and the staff were very nice . Reasonably priced and portions size was good.

Absolute garbage boiled rice was stodgy and the mushrooms and onions were tasteless don’t even want mention the taste of the so called beef curry never again will i ever be near this place

Shatin is my local Chinese takeaway, funny name but its been here for probably 30+yrs and its without doubt the best chinese around. Highly recommend it especially Singapore chow mein and salt n chilli chips👌

My family has been going to this Chinese since I was a little girl. I challenge you to find a better breast of chicken curry. Rice is always cooked to perfection. Food really tasty. Staff great

Great chinese great portions reasonable price open wkdays till 12pm unlike others roundabout which is handy nice staff just dont like the name of it but thats my only complaint

We have ordered faithfully from the Shatin since moving to the area 4 years ago. Absolutely fabulous!!

Tried several similar take out shops in the area this is comes out tops overall. Service good, price very good, menu very good and among the best tasting (take away) oriental food I have experienced

My wife and I had been travelling and were a bit disillousioned with the regular carryout so we gave the Shatin a go and were not dissapointed. Shrimps in oyster sauce, lovely. We will be back.

Best breast of chicken curry in the area! Chow mein is great too. Tasty food, good prices and quick delivery.

I have used the Shatin for 12+ years. They do have lovely food when they get the order correct. Time and time again things are missing or wrong dishs. I think the main problem is they dont repeat the order back to you. Tonight I had nice pieces of BEEF in my vegetarian dish. Need to find new take away now.

Fairly average place that frequently gets the order wrong. Foods alright but nothing special. I use it now and again.

Everything we have tried has been very good I especially like chicken fried rice and curry sauce the curries are pretty good too and the banana fritters

we are regulars and wouldnt go elsewhere although they are a little more expensive than other locals

Everything good staff very pleasant could do with a lick of paint which I've told is on the cards very shortly
