Shark Tail Sushi in Poole

Our late night takeaway in Poole began with two v. disappointingly poor but enormous miso soups that had to go down the sink; tasting v. rough with an oily odor. Their taste was a long way off miso soup's usual delightful blend of salty, savoury, and sweet notes, with a texture blending smooth and creamy, akin to peanut or tahini. I had high expectations of the Unagi (eal) Nigiri being priced at £3.60 , more than our usual Hampstead Sushi bar . But it was a total let down a thin textureless sliver with a not very good sauce dribble, tasting to me quite unlike the traditional " kabayaki" sauce usually served on this dish. The sushi rice on all the selection of Unagi sushis was very cold, the grains were very hard and without any noticeable sweet sushi vinegar. Even the slithers of raw salmon tasted more oily than fishy . So a very disappointing take away reminiscent of simple all day supermarket fare in the chiller cabinet but priced as bespoke. They need to hire a good specialist sushi chef to improve their recipes and methods.

I ordered through the website as I thought it would be more beneficial for the company. I ordered for myself to pick up at 8pm as I had family plans. I checked the website to see how long it would be on the time scale to find the time I put to collect had moved forward by 45mins with no warning or notification. I didn't not want to eat this late as I suffer with hypoglycemia. I phoned up the shop however I didn't get a clear answer. When I collected 45mins later my food still was not ready! When looking around the kitchen, it was messy and the staff member had clear plastic gloves on when touching everything including money, food and appliances - he didn't replace them or take them off while preparing food. While I was in there, I felt the delivery drivers were given a faster service than I was. I should of ordered at home through an independent delivery service and not direct which doesn't make sense. First and last time in this place.

Great selection of sushi, fresh fish and crunchy veggies. Love Poke bowl as it is a dissent portion . The soup as far the best Tom yum I've tried. Friends loved their selection of sushi. Highly recommended. As far best Sushi place in Poole, we needed it.

Fresh products, big menu - sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi, soups and starters. Only for takeaway. Friendly staff.
