Missing item and the chicken tikka massala has changed chicken was burnt and the chicken tikka starter is a smaller portion and not got the onions in with them called up and have eaten my food and is still waiting 45 minutes for missing items

Food not up to the usual standard, watery. No free popadam or onion salad and not for the first time even after I have phoned before to complain.

The food quality has gone down hill, the chicken was rubbery and the lamb was rock hard. This restaurant used to be amazing, im not sure what has changed but it is very disappointing :(

I ordery keema naan but they deliver the plain naan , In mix grill tandiori chicken marinatation was not clocked properly the marination was still wet,Tikka also not good

We have been ordering from this takeaway for years as we really used to like the food, but the last 4-5 times it's been a complete disappointment. We noticed the food looked different and even the packaging was different, unfortunately the actual taste was an even more shocking surprise. My children normally have Chicken Tikka Masala, it used to be a light pink/orange color and quite nice, the last few times it was a very dark red and unbelievably sweet with an overwhelming coconut flavor. Not terrible, but not as nice as it used to be. I normally order chicken biriani with vegetable curry, one of the last times I had it the vegetables were so clearly old, I couldn't eat it. The following time, they were tastless, and i mean completely flavorless. The biggest disappointment was my favourite dish, the darka dhal. The one I had yesterday didn't taste of anything at all. There was no garlic, it was just if they had blended some lentils out of a tin. The time before last, there was more garlic than lentils and it was all you could taste together with a burnt taste. We have tried to stick to this takeaway but I think it's time to just accept that the food is no longer nice. It's not even not as nice as it used to be but still decent, it's just terrible, and it's a shame. I'm not sure there's a different chef, or even it comes from a different restaurant, but god it's bad.....

Change of chef or recipes. We’ve ordered here many times before but today the food was different. It wasn’t as tasty. It was still edible but not as nice as in the past.

Probably the worst meal from Shapla and I’ve been a customer for many years, sadly not any longer. Meal arrived late, both madras containers had leaked out over the rest of the food, the lamb tikka starter looked off and was rock hard, this was thrown away. Hugely disappointed with the quality and feel they are taking the public for a ride with sub standard, old food.

Food spilled all over the bag. First and last time I shall be ordering from here. Food has no taste whatsoever. I ordered King Prawn Madras and Lamb Madras and Prawn Purée.. more red food colouring than actual food taste...this is not authentic British Indian food.

Order was 30 minutes late and had to chase twice on the phone. However the food was very nice when we did get it. Always used to sit in at this restaurant and the food quality was as good as it used to be. Will forgive the delay this time and give them another chance and will order again.

Food wasn’t great this time. Chicken tasted a bit off. The Biryani always taste like it has no salt or flavour, surely other people are complaining?

We ordered mix tikka grill which was delicious, nan was delicious but puree was disappointing and overcooked.

Normally I rant and rave about this place, and could not stop telling people how it’s the best place around but I ordered food tonight and it was disgusting, so disappointed.

Food was a bit late but it was so worth the wait. The quality of food is just as you would have at a high end restaurant. The flavours and spices are so authentic and rich. I prefer my food more spicy but I didn’t even miss the heat as the food was so tasty.

It's disgraceful that it took 1 hour and 30 minutes to deliver our food. The food was okay, but six small pieces of Lamb in the biryani isn't really okay. The Lamb saag hardly had any saag! The Okra was fantastic to be honest. Overall, not impressed, must do better in future.

Tandoori chicken is the best in and around the local area. It’s got the old rustic feel and taste. Not many places do tandoori chicken now days as everyone is one the peri-peri scene!!

The food was 25 minutes late, however the lamb curry and keema rice was tasty. Had ordered a chicken korma which had 4 pieces of chicken and container full of sauce. The sheek kebab was off. Not fresh, probably a few days old. Went straight to the bin. I also ordered English fried chicken and chips for the kids, only to get some cooked cubed chicken pieces, like for a curry with chips mixed with peas. If you say chicken and chips, can you please make it normal chicken and chips. And the pieces were not fresh. Not a good first experience.

Driver had no face mask and in was doorway nearly, no gloves anything. The meal cane to £17.95 and I offered £20. He went to walk away, I said ok take a pound and he had to search for money Is the the case everywhere

Full Tandoori Chicken is always cooked perfectly and very tasty, service and food always good.

Too early! Ordered it for 845 Just eat advise it would be ther for 9 can at 805. Worked until 840 so cold food! Customer care at Just eat rubbish

Worst Asian food I’ve ever had, sweet curry???? Who does that???? Is like cooked with sugar and forgot to add the spices nothing at all so basically my main course is was like desert , onion bhaji full of artificial colour, So discussing will definitely not be ordering from here ever again

When ordering the food the offer stated a free bottle of wine for orders over £20 I did not receive the wine.

Food was great, fresh and still hot. Tasted amazing as always, was a little late but these things happen especially during times like this. Definitely will be back.

It was either stone cold or just slightly warm. The chips were ridiculously greasy and the bhaji’s were burnt. The Jalfrezi was swimming in oil, lamb wasn’t seasoned and wasn’t spicy at all. The Mushroom Rice was dry and and mushrooms were like rubber. The Biryani had no taste either and the rice was dry and chewy. Was the first (and last) time using Shapla

Chips were burnt to a crisp inedible,never had chips this bad from shapla,maybe an off night !

Lovely food however nearly 2 hours late, I appreciate things are difficult at the moment however was told food would arrive at 7.30pm and arrived at 9.20 pm numerous phone calls made and a £3 refund given however not really the point I wanted to eat at 7.30pm not at 9.20pm

Our order was for 2 x Half Tandoori Chicken, Chicken tikka starter, Prawn Pruee starter, Pilau Rice & 2 popadoms which come with mint sauce and onion salad! When I place my order I requested more mint sauce as there no option to be able to order this on the JustEat site! They sent 1 for the whole meal which was for the popadom The Tandoori was burnt, dry and I called the restaurant to be advised that they told somebody to put an extra one in?! Any restaurant you go to gives this free!! He advised its 55p each dish ! Never will we go there again!!!

Absolutely awful customer service and terrible food, I’ve used this restaurant for many years now but as of recent the food is getting worse with each order that I get delivered, it’s is always late and not just 10 mins or so, it’s late by over an hour. The most recent take away took 2 hours to arrive and was cold, wrong food came and customer service when I brought this to their attention wasn’t up to standard If you are thinking of using the restaurant, DONT!!!!!!!!

Although the resturant offers good quality delicious food. There delivery service is very poor. I'm a regular customer and the last couple of orders have been extremely late. I waited the expected deliver time which was 45 minutes, after a hour I called the resturant , they told me it was just leaving and would be with me in 15 minutes, half an hour later I called again to be told again it was just leaving. It arrived 10 minutes later. Ot took over 2 hours for my meal to be delivered late at night. Shapla needs to step up or they will lose customers.

A small group of us have gone here for several years for an early Christmas get-together and the occasional celebration. None of us drink so always order soft drinks like cola or sparkling water. The Shapla has never, ever been busy and we're usually the only customers there. On previous occasions the lone waiter has been pleasant, the food reasonable and service good. We’d booked a table for 7.30pm on a Sunday evening. When we arrived, there were two other people in the restaurant. A third came in and sat alone a little later. We had the same waiter who clearly remembered us and who was pleasant enough - to start off with. We ordered poppadoms which came fairly quickly. The people who ordered cola found it was flat. The sparkling water was slightly fizzy but soon went flat. We ordered starters and mains. And waited. And waited. And waited. The waiter was busy playing on his phone. More soft drinks were ordered. And we waited. And waited. It took about 45 minutes for the starters to appear and three of us had ordered the Shami Kebabs. They were so strongly salted that they were virtually inedible. All three Portions of them. I mentioned this to the waiter (when he could drag himself away from his phone), to which he replied with a very unattractive smirk, that he’d get them adjusted for the next customers. Clearly, his charisma by-pass operation had been a complete success. The drinks that the others had ordered never appeared. And we waited. And waited. And waited. It was the most abysmal excuse for service that I’ve ever encountered. He had to be reminded again about the drinks. While the main course was mostly edible, one of our party ordered onion bhajees. They were the same bright red colour as the shami kebabs and were equally inedible because they were excessively salty. To be honest, we couldn’t wait to get out. Mr Charisma was replaced by a second waiter who seemed to have a better idea of what he was doing. It was so late that we all went without our usual coffees and just asked for the bill. The ‘hot flannels’ came around and absolutely stank of disinfectant. 🤢 Either the first waiter AND the chef had been given notice by their employers and were out for a bit of revenge, or they were just plain rubbish at their jobs. The complete lack of courtesy by the waiter was unbelievable. As if he was doing us all a favour by gracing us with his presence. I felt pretty sick on the way home (even though I’d only eaten half of my meal - I’d lost my appetite by the time we actually got it), but thankfully survived the ordeal. We had a great time because the company was so good, but the staff were complete rubbish and the food only fit for the bin. We’ll never go back there again.

Food was late and lukewarm. Chicken Bhuna was bland and supposed to be Medium Hot. I’ve had more spice in a bag of Doritos

The restaurant says you get a free bottle of wine on orders over £20. I spent over this amount and the driver says “I’ll bring next time you order” and walks off before I could say anything. Other than that every was good.

The meat curries had too much sauce and little ingredients. Yet, the chicken and lamb were soft and tender. The ingredients from the veg curry blended into the sauce as it was overcooked. It would have been better to cut the veg into bigger pieces, less sauce/spice and add whole Chinese five spice instead. The free poppadom and mint sauce were of good quality. It would have been nice to have more salad included with cucumbers and tomatoes.

Food was very tasty and they have a nice variety to their menu. I think they offer pretty good value too. Well done!

Order placed for 8.30 and delivered at 7pm!! Driver said they will put it on hot plate?? We called to make sure that wasn’t the case, assured no! Delivery arrived 25 mins late luke warm so the driver was right!! Won’t use again 😡

Nice prawn curry, butterflied so that was great! Very nice aubergine dry curry like home made. Stuffed pratha was too heavy, make thinner and lighter would be better! Overall really good, will order again.

Always used this as a take away. But decided to go in and have a meal. Really friendly family run business. Great food, nice hot, fresh food. Lovely flavours. Will be back next week.

delivery driver didn’t want to give me my change. owed me 3.15, gave him 20 and had to ask for the change. then gave me 2 pound in change and was surprised when I asked for the full change. the tikka only had 7 pieces of meat in the curry, not enough. food was good but lack of meat and the delivery driver means I won’t order again. if the driver had given me the full change straight away he would’ve received the tip, he seemed so desperate to get

Food was good as always but waited just over 2 hours!! Totally unacceptable and they also forgot the free popadoms. Claimed there was traffic but 2 hours to deliver when it is a 7 - 10 minute drive max is a joke!

ok. does anyone in here knows how to cook biryani? i can do better than that. bland, no chili, yellow rice, with chicken breast pieces. thats not biryani! indian restraurant, but dishes doesnt represent india whatsoever. butter lamb, sweet, not buttery. more like corma to me. the only thing I enjoyed was complimentary vegetable curry. not bad, still too bland though. will not order again.

The food tasted ok but it was warm and not hot. This could have had something to do with it being over an hour late. We were told that one of the drivers had been in an accident but the guy who delivered the food was very confused when we mentioned that! It's a shame but we will not be ordering from here again.

The food from the Shapla is always tasty. Been going there for years and rarely had a problem with service or the food. Recommend their Balti; delicious!

Food order was over 30 minutes late, lamb chops we’r burnt I rang back to complain and was told they would give me replacement lamb chops next time.. samosa were missing but admittedly I didn’t relies an till a knock at the door about 30 minutes after with the Missing samosas (no replacement chops). The rest of the order was satisfying but nothing particularly special. I was very disappointed with the customer service however I received a call from the manager a while later who apologised and explained they had a really busy night. My first experience was not the beat at shapla but hopefully will be better next time. .

Lovely food and good sized portions. Plenty of chicken in each dish too. Everything was hot, everything arrived and everything tasted delicious. All for a good price too.

food as always was good and given the snow being 10 minutes late was still OK

order was accepted with a 5 minute variance- not a problem (restaurant is a 5/10 minute walk away) At it being 20 minutes late the guy in the phone said the driver had left, so he will ask him ............ then hung up on me. I called back and he tried to blame the snow when the order hadn’t even left the restaurant. Not impressed by this. No updates, no warning and the impression from both store and driver was “eh”

Booked a table, left standing on crutches 35mins & food was uninteresting. Won't bother again. A real let down as we'd taken friends too!
