Beautiful food. Everything fresh and tasty. Went with 3 friends from work and we all loved it. Great service. Will be returning next week to try out the lunch deal!

I have visited this restaurant many times before and had no reason to complain but this time round it was the latter. The food usually arrives at the table piping hot but this time the chicken and noodle soup hardly had any soup and was just a bowl of noodles. When our meals came it was obvious that they were cold, we tried and it confirmed it was stone cold, not surprising since the food arrived super fast when going out for a meal I would rather wait a bit longer to get it right the first time. They didn’t look to happy when we raised the complaint with them and not any mention of altering the cost of our bill to compensate for the poor quality on this occasion and it’s a shame because usually when there previously it has been first class.

After hearing about this place from friends my girlfriend and I decided to give this place a try . Overall we loved the experience. There was a lovely atmosphere upon entering the restaurant which was nice . The staff were friendly and helpful . The food was really good . For starters we ordered salt and chilli chicken wings and a pork and prawn dumpling soup. The chicken wings were spot on with its flavours and sauce . The soup was really good , the dumplings were full of flavour and the broth was delicious. The mains ordered were sticky honey chicken and a beef with asparagus stir fry with chilli and ginger . The chicken was really good as it has a mixture of sweetness,spice , sugar and sourness plus the presentation was excellent. The beef dish was amazing and worked well together. We decided to share a mango sorbet with lychee and raspberry coulis. This was very tasty and a great pallet cleanser . Overall the food was excellent so we would definitely go back again .

I was asked to go here for a family dinner. Despite my reservation, due to a previous bad experience with the staff, I joined my family for dinner. I should have trusted my past experience and stayed at home. I have never been to a restaurant where the staff treat you so badly and expect you to enjoy the experience! No point in commenting on the food, as none of us enjoyed it because of the waitress treatment and disgruntled behaviour. The staff should find a new job as they're clearly unhappy!

I took my mother for lunch, both waitresses with pony tails , were rude, uninterested and bad mannered Food was nicely presented but chicken noodle soup and curry had way too much black pepper, spring rolls were small with little filling in them The waitresses stood at the door and never said goodbye ,thank you or even opened the door for my mum Wont be back Chef was leaning on the clatty wheeliebin with his whites on, in the car park smoking cigarettes when we left he looked boggin ....

Visited last week for lunch with a friend. We were provided the lunch menu which is a starter and main course for just over £12. There was the option of a vegetarian starter of crispy spring rolls which I chose but surprisingly no vegetarian main course dishes available. I asked the waitress if I could have one of the meat main course dishes but with tofu instead as they offer tofu on multiple dishes on their main menu. I was advised this wasn’t possible with no explanation. I advised I was vegetarian and none of these main course dishes were a suitable option. I was advised I could pick any of the dishes and it would just be served as vegetables in the chosen sauce. I then offered to pay a supplement to get tofu instead but was still advised this wasn’t possible. Again, with no reason as to why this would be the case. I went ahead with the vegetables in a sweet and sour sauce. The food was pretty average and the customer service was poor. With so many other decent restaurants in the local area, I won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend it!

Excellent food, quick service, nice wine. Staff fit me in at late notice. The cocktail I had needed some work but everything else was great. Very busy, even on a Sunday night. Always a good sign

Had Dinner on Sunday evening,4th Feb. We had booked for 6.30 thinking it may be quieter. No way, it was packed out. We got our table and ordered drinks an perused the Menu. We ordered, 2 Main Courses and One portion of Rice and 3/4 mins later the order arrived before the Drinks !!! The food was fine and the Service was efficient. However, the portions were meagre. We both could have finished the main courses in 5 minutes. The drinks arrived and because the Portions were meagre we put the Food Handbrake on as we didn't want to be sitting with only Drinks on the table (1 Beer & 1 Bottle of House White Wine). Overall impression ---- It was OK. £59 mmmmm. Would we return???? Possibly.

Nice Shanghai Teahouse Awesome Chinese Tea

Phoned on New Year's day because our local takeaway was closed. Arrived at the agreed time to pick-up, and my food was ready. Took this home, and three of us all throughly enjoyed what we had. Next time, we will try a sit in meal, and I hope it will be as good, or even better than the takeaway. A big thank you, and well done!

Visited here just before New year. Had been to the restaurant before it had changed name but heard great reviews about it and this visit did not disappoint. Restaurant was very busy however we got a seat up the back which was good. I got the Chicken Satay and my wife the prawn toast for starters…. Both delicious! I chose Chicken Kung Po and my wife the Shredded Chilli chicken for main, along with fried rice, noodles and chilli chips! Again … absolutely delicious!!! Bill was £70 for all this plus a cocktail and 2 cokes. The aspect I was most impressed with was that the staff left us alone! Yes … alone!!! No pestering us for drinks or asking how our meals were .. just left us alone to talk and eat! If we needed them they were over .. but really impressed that they left us to it! Defo the best Chinese/Oriental restaurant in Lanarkshire!

1st time visited for dinner with my family New years Eve. Beautifully decorated inside Seated at a comfortable booth. Fast delicious food Great service to our table. Good portion sizes although previous reviews said differently Individual ladies toilets very clean . Parked across the road in a side street as very limited parking to the rear didn't find this a issue. Will definatley be back .

Food and staff are lovely very consistent , My Husband and I have had dinner a number of times , Also take away is superb as well . Looking forward to my lunch today with work colleagues .

Tried this for the first time today. The only slight negative I would comment on would be the fried rice. A bit over cooked, so really soft. Apart from that, I would give staff, food, decor and restrictions 10 / 10

Our 1st trip to Glasgow from London. We found the cosy restaurant. Once we steps inside the restaurant, it was impeccable, cosy with warm welcoming smiles from every servers. The food is delicious especially the fresh scallops with Brocolli. The Monkfish with XO will second to NONE. I was very impressed with the server. When I requested for a bowl of fresh chillies to go with the fried noodle. She brought to me with a general portion of the fresh chillies. Thanks to ALL the servers services. This gives us a very good memorable dining experience. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Tiny wee place with little to no parking available most times but the food is fabulous, for some reason the take away is even better than the dine in food but that's just my opinion as the menu is different. Well worth trying.

Place was nice, staff were good, but the food was fairly poor and overpriced. I had the Katsu Curry, the chicken breast was tiny, dry and over cooked. My wifes meal was better, although we both agreed that the local takeaways serve better.

1) The restaurant falls short of providing genuine Shanghainese cuisine." 2) The portion sizes offered do not justify the high prices. 3) As tourists, we were unaware that the service charge was not included in the bill, unlike other establishments. Consequently, we unintentionally omitted leaving a gratuity. To our dismay, upon exiting, the owner rudely referred to us as 'bad boys.' Such behavior was inappropriate. If I were in their position, I would suggest the owner approach the situation differently by politely clarifying the tipping policy by saying something like, 'Sir, I apologize for any confusion. Please note that our service charge is not automatically incorporated into the bill. If you were satisfied with the service, your consideration in leaving a tip would be greatly appreciated.

I was taken to this restaurant tonight and from walking in to leaving all I can say was wow. The food and venue was amazing and the service first class. I would definitely recommend the sizzling steak and the chicken Curry. You nailed it guys I will definitely be coming back again

Visited on Sat night had a table of 9 booked for 8.30. Food was really good both starters and mains were enjoyed by all . Our only fault was we all felt we were been rushed through our dinner for the staff to get away as soon as was possible , it was quite of putting . I would go back again though.

Best Chinese restaurant in Lanarkshire by far

The food is always top class here and with a nice variety of menu items you can stick with what you know or be a bit bolder and try something new. We went on a Sunday and they had a "Sunday Lunch" menu which had some really good options on it. Extensive drinks selection, friendly staff and always very clean. What I will say is that they bring you your food absolutely rapid so if you're wanting to take it easy and have a bit of a break between courses you might want to let them know!!!! Also always best to book!

Probably one of the best Chinese places outside glasgow. It is essentially a sister restaurant to Lychee in Glasgow city centre. It is a busy wee restaurant. Food is always good but just feels as if it is slightly less authentic and more catered for the 'western' palate hence one star off (no chopsticks, etc either) Otherwise it is good. Also wife thought scallops were overcooked. Service is always good and on point. They have a good 2 course lunch menu. Never had a bad meal here both sitting in and takeaway. If going on evenings or weekends I would advise to phone ahead and book. Have a decent veggie selection and a bonus is it's halal.

Amazing food and great gluten-free range.

Fantastic food and service. Both the starters and mains were exceptional. We had a mixed starter to share and every element of it was incredible. We love Chinese food and have eaten at nearly every restaurant in glasgow and this is by far the best.

We were passing by to spend the night in Glasgow and leave in the early morning. We arrived quite late and we just wanted to grab a bite and go to rest. They were kind enough to let us sit down and eat past the last sitting time. We had an amazing service by Meng, delicious Chinese cuisine, and a lovely atmosphere in the place.

We visited here for sit in for the fist time on Sunday. Unfortunately, the food we received wasn't what we expected, especially after reading the reviews. The honey chilli chicken was so bland, dry and chewy. The salt and chilli chips were French fries covered in Chinese five spice which was very disappointing. the rice seemed overcooked. We left after 25minutes and it cost over £70.00. Felt it was expensive for what we received.

Appalled by poor service - a manner of our party has severe stomach problems but we encouraged her to come out thinking we would be accommodated with perhaps a chicken salad or something as she can’t eat a lot of food items - Shanghai Tearooms clearly state they cater for allergies - when we asked if they could do a chicken salad for my friend, 3 (yes 3) different members of staff told us that ‘chicken salad is not on the menu’ - THAT is a direct QUOTE. My friend ended up eating plain boiled rice and a pice of cake for dessert!! Now, EVERY other dish came with a gorgeous side salad - 2 of these would have fed my(tiny) friend - the chicken satay came on skewers with the sauce on the side - what what what effort would it have taken to create a chicken salad with double portion of garnish salad and chicken taken off ??? The dismissive attitude of staff regarding dietary requirements and unwillingness to accommodate client needs is astounding! Will NEVER return

Always rated here ,been a few times for sit in an take out ,the last two take outs have been really disappointing especially the most recent one .we had chicken satay rice chicken curry and chips ,the chicken was very dry and overcooked and not really much taste off it ,the curry was awful it was more like a gravy through it than curry sauce ,the rice portion is almost half of what you used to get and more like boiled than fried ,now the chips or the lack of them ,they have now started using french fries , rediculas,I gave the two stars because of the satay sauce ,it was nice, I paid £29 for that takeout ,sadly I won't be back

I can honestly say that you will love it... I eat a lot of Chinese food but this place is, how can I say, tastier.. Visited for the first time today and the food was exceptional, both in terms of value and taste. We had the set lunch (2 courses for £12.90); I had salt and chilli chicken wings followed by stir fry beef with asparagus and my partner had satay skewers followed by honey chilli chicken. We shared salt and chilli chips. All of the dishes were delicious. We finished off with a banana fritter and a sticky toffee pudding, with the final bill including drinks coming in at under £50. Probably the best Chinese I have had and we will definitely return soon.
