Shanghai Palace in South Lanarkshire

Have bought out of here a few times ordered online and went to pick it up and it’s always ready and piping hot,excellent quality great sized portions and reasonably priced for what I bought and happy to use again whenever I want a good meal

Best curry sauces, they are all far tastier than anywhere else, especially curry, gravy and peking! Food is always fantastic.

I’ve never had a bad meal, becoming a regular. The guy at the counter is always so friendly and pleasant, it looks super clean as well and you can see everything being cooked. The chicken is amazing quality which is something I’m weird about! ask for everything hot because the salt and chilli isn’t spicy but they always cater to the requests and I don’t feel that ill way after eating it, it feels so clean if you get me! hopefully they keep up the quality and service , very high standard so far - update on this Ordered from here all the time since it opened and it was always best quality and a very high standard. Hate to leave a bad review but it’s more for feedback really, the quality has gone down hill, the food isn’t as good as what it was since it opened after their holiday. I’ve not been able to eat most of it the last few times. The chicken quality isn’t the same and the rice has been so overcooked with solid bits all throughout. Such a lovely guy behind the counter so I hate to say but hopefully it improves again to how good it was before! So hard to find a really good Chinese nowadays and it’s a lot of money to be wasted every time x

Food is perfect every time & great value, friendly service too.

Just as normal take away place.. taste was ok.. parking would be a challenge as it next to traffic light ..

Excellent meal tonight from Shanghai Palace. Spicy beancurd in blackbean sauce for my husband and salt and pepper ribs for me, rice and chips on the side. Everything was tasty and good portions. Saved half my ribs for the next day. Friendly staff and reasonable price too.

Got a takeaway staff very helpful when it was ready brought it to me as I was outside getting some air.

Just had my first ever Singapore chow mein first time getting from this takeaway and what a delight the food and the customer service safe to say al be ordering from here from now on

I like a Chinese curry and kung po but I find yours too salty. Other meals have been nice with good portions. A bit less salt in future please.

Food was nice had chicken satay and prawn toast. Was having a family meal and spent £75 but no free things like other takeaways.

Order took nearly 2 hours to arrive food was cold prawn crackers were smashed to pieces and when phoned they didn’t really sound like they cared at all

Normally curry is good but too much ginger in it for me and possibly the worst chow mein I've ever had .just a bowl of mush as noodles and beansprouts were overcooked. Disappointed

Really disappointed I ordered because of the positive reviews even though it was a red flag they where over a month ago The prawns from the sweet n sour prawns where like rubber and couldn’t be eaten The chicken satay wasn’t good The sauce was strange and powdery and the chicken was like an old leather shoe The chicken on the chicken fried rice was slimy it wasn’t good £29 thrown away as the only decent thing was the prawn crackers. Idk if it’s new owners since the last good review but this was so disappointing.

I've lived in Rutherglen for 30 years now. We all remember the Po Wah that was here originally. It was good but it could also be rather disappointing, even after a few decades of being a customer. It goes and the Shanghai Palace takes its place. I avoided this carry out restaurant because of the past. What a stupid mistake. My wife and I had our first meal two weeks ago and our second meal a few days ago. After forty plus years of eating Chinese food, this is simply the best Chinese food I've ever tasted. Period. The Sate chicken, the curries, the Shredded Honey Chicken. It's utterly fantastic. It has a taste all of its own. There's none of the stereotypical bland Chinese food here. It's tasty, nicely presented and the staff could not be friendlier. Well done guys. Keep up the excellent work.

Ordered home delivery got sweet n sour chicken hong King style it was so tasty with crunchy peppers and real pineapple. Highly recommend, well done Shanghai Palace delicious 😋
