Nan bread not cooked still like dough. Curry so thick it was just coating on food so looked and tasted horrid . Called asked for resolution said if we give food bath get refund . I said boxes in bin so difficult , didn’t offer to bring new boxes just said no refund then. Would not recommend

Been here lots of times in the past (2yrs ago) but just recently started to go again. We use to go about twice a week but since we moved back up here a couple of months ago the onion bhajis are bland not tasty at all and sometimes burnt never fresh and soft inside, and as for the curry sauce… well there is no taste at all there is something definitely missing from the process. For the price and I know things have gone up but they’re skimping on something. I’ve been told by a few friends that the best takeaway in the area is in east Herrington just on the bridge called RIZQ, and I can tell you first hand the food is excellent and must be the tastiest Indian food in Sunderland Its well worth a trip and they do deliveries. You WONT be disappointed. Sorry Shans but if you skimp on things you lose customers you charge enough. Bring back the old Shan it’ll save me money on deliveries. 👎

Been visiting for 20 years plus and always excellent. Last year or so changed completely. Been eating jalafrezi for years. Couldn't eat last night as far too hot. Will not be visiting soon 😔

Yet again, really nice food & good value. Chicken Tikka Balti is excellent & my Wife reckons the veg curry is the best anywhere ! Good service & rarely a long wait.

I think Shan's Balti's are my new favourite ! Nice strong flavours with fresh green chilli's. It might be on the hot side for some people, but just the way I like it. Veg Bhaji, and delicious Peshwari Naan. I really must try something different to the Balti's, but I don't want to take the "risk" !!

We've tried many indian restaurant's/takeaway's over the years,and Shan's tandoori in silksworth is by far THE BEST.perfect food everytime,great friendly service.syed,sam and the kitchen staff are top,top lads.for us there is no other option,its shan's everytime.we've tried the rest,there just isn't anywhere better.10/10

Like Ian P I was pleasantly surprised after trying Shan's after not visiting for a few years. I had the Chicken Pathia (my favourite) and thoroughly enjoyed it. Family also had a Chicken Korma and a Lamb Saag Gosht all with different rices and a Garlic nan. All were lovely with plenty of chicken and lamb.

Ordered food at 6pm was told would be an hour but arrived just after 730. I only live 10 mins away guys, had a drink so couldnt collect but next time wont be here, many takeaways to choose from. Spent over £30 and everything squashed into 1 bag , again, ghee all over the place, NO NEED, never again.

I used to come here regularly years ago, but it went back, and I've gone elsewhere for years since. Anyway, it was simply convenient to go here again, and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I had the beef balti and pillau rice. There was quite a bit fresh chilli in, which I like and had a good overall strong flavour with a thick sauce. I'll give it another try later in the week & see if it was a 1 off.

Ordered from shans for years always been happy but the last couple of times food is going downhill, I live 5 mins away and food is cold when delivered and chips are uneatable like they have sat for hours then been heated back up. I will be trying other places in future.

Intentamos llevar después de leer las críticas, pero ojalá no tenía. Fue una decepción y no visitar este lugar de nuevo. A la comida le faltaba el sabor y la autenticidad de la comida india y aunque nos recogió en vez de nosotros mismos, de nuestra comida era entrega fría. Nuestro consejo es que pruebe otro.

Definitely the most flavoursome spicy food going, I travel from Durham on a regular basis for this and it's well worth the journey.

We have always ordered from Shans since it opened. Staff are great, food is always really good. Can't fault this place. Best takeaway in Sunderland
