Amazing food! Wouldn’t change it for the world. The Donner meat is tender and delicious, the chicken is tasty and given in good size. I wouldn’t complain about the food at all. My only piece of feedback would be personally they need to try and invest in some takeaway boxes for the kebabs instead of tinfoil and paper as the sauce always gets stuck on the tinfoil and you end up loosing a lot of the sauce apart from that the takeaway has never doubted me.

Took abit of time to come but my god what a kebab first time ive been in years and its on form the best ive had in a long time worth the wait

Ordered food on Friday 12th Jan, pizza was ok, so called shalimar special kebab waw absolutely horrible, no salad and only 1 piece of chicken. Also ordered chips and shish, only the chips came. When I phoned to complain a guy who said his name was Sam was rude and not very helpful. Never again will I go back and will tell anyone who ask me what's it like how bad this place is.

Foods always good but when something goes wrong delivery wise owner is rude. I’ve had things missing from orders plus a whole order not delivered. He just Denys you’ve ever ordered, he doesn’t serve that or it’s already been delivered. Then hangs up the phone on you.

Lamb drier than the Sahara desert even the dogs struggled to swallow it It used to be average but the quick delivery made it usable Now I'd rather wait 2 hours for ajanta than get lamb so dry I could rub doors down with it

Tried to buy some food well before closing time and the bloke behind the counter just said we got nothing. Didn't even tell him what I wanted.

Always good donner from here but tried the shalimar special and the chicken and shish is as dry as the Sahara desert. Garlic bread and cheese wasn’t as good as usual so hopefully this was just a bad day as it is usually much better.

Where do I begin? New to the Wigan area and my partner and I spend a significant amount of money on takeaways, especially Kebabs. Shalimar came up as the top place so I went for it and ordered 2 kebabs on Tuesday 04th Jan, what I never realised was that its closed on a Tuesday. The money still came out so I excitedly waited for the Wednesday evening delivery……No notifications NOTHING!! I rang up at 6pm for an update as it opens at 5pm, to be told by a member of staff “I have cancelled the order, its too far away” I live 3.2 miles away and thats too far? RUBBISH and sheer laziness has just cost your business thousands £££ 👍👍 also took 5 working days for my money to return to the bank “This is why Businesses GO BUST”

Web site is bad check if they deliver to your area ,quick to take your money ,but now I've got to wait 3 to 5 days to get it back .total disgrace I have to put 1 star so it can get posted not even worth 1 star

Ordered food at 18:30 incomplete order arrived at 20:40 cold never again not good service.

Decided to try a new takeaway.ordered via the website which said 60 min wait. Waited 75 minutes, rang for update. Shalimar hadn’t prepared any of my food. Won’t be ordering again.

Called in there got a shalimar special got 3 pieces of lamb the tiniest I have ever seen the biggest being 1 and a half inches the other 2 the size of a dice the garlic naan as halved in size to what it used to on a better note the food didn't taste that bad but will not be going back a complete rip off at £7.50 decide for yourselves

POOR HYGIENE. / SLOW - pre-ordered a garlic bread to pick up, got there 20 mins later, they hadn’t even noticed the order had come through. - while stood waiting. Have a look around this place… I’m surprised there was no rats. Pizza boxes, that your food is going in, stacked on the floor in the customer area, food kept in washing up bowls. - handles for the food, left resting in the food. - same hands they have just run through there hair… - Awful Place for hygiene.

Love their chicken kebabs with sweet corn relish. That's it. 5*

Chicken the quality of Bernard Matthews. Tiny Shish pieces that seemed like it came out of a can. The only thing pleasant was the salad. The Naan bread was good, but even this was ruined by the fact it was covered in old charred Naan which means they probably don't clean the oven/tandoor. Shocked at how many recommendations I've seen.

Once you have had a shalimar special from here you won't go anywhere else for a kabab

I ordered chicken and lamb kebab chicken come covered in spice wasn't told this on phone order wanted plain chicken and kebab put phone down on me very rude

We all love the food it's 9 x of 10 amazing but the woman on the phone taking orders is horrible blut huffing and puffin rude n just not what a business needs! I have so many friends n family who order regularly and they all say the same! This is 1 bad point that needs sorting out!

Waited 1 hour 50 mins for it to be delivered. Was told when we ordered 45 mins. Pizza got to us freezing cold. Waste of money. Terrible service. Never again!!!!!

Not been for a long time. Food was great inly issue is customers parking outside on double yellows causing traffic safety issues near a very busy junction. There is a free carpark only 20 metres away.

Been around ages and i think still operational due to location and previous reviews over the years. Pizza quality isnt the best, the sauce is tasteless and the cheese isnt very cheesy tasting. There Kebabs are excellent. Prices are average. Service can be slow and your not served in order of wait time but more what comes out the oven first.

Pity you don't deliver to Standish we have ordered from you for 20 yrs at least mega food but want delivery to shevi n standish come on your regulars and their children etc want your food delivered in these areas we will pay extra x

we had takeaway pizza and cheese breads from shalimars last Saturday night and id say they are one of the nicest pizza takeawys we have ever had. when they were delivered they were still red hot and to me that's very important as I don't like food when its gone cold which can happen with pizza. I will certainly be using shalimars agai

Shalimars is always regarded as a treat in our house. The food is simple, fresh and of a high quality. The staff are great, the orders are NEVER wrong and delivery is quick. It is sometimes hard to get through on the phone, and this is testament to the amazing experience. The doner on garlic naan has to be tasted to be believed. !

Mixed kebab on naan with everything on that's what I'm talking about 😁😁 and then maybe a 9" pizza for the missus with chilli sauce and they'll give you a free garlic bread with cheese to help with that breath the next day at least it stops people bothering you 😁😁😁

I have a friend who comes a mile and half on foot for a kebab from here. So I joined him recently and I can see why. The meat is not greasy, the bread is not stale and the salad is fresh. Got a small pizza too which I had for breakfast next day...perfect wake up.

The Shalimar Special is the finest food item I have ever eaten. It speaks for itself that the place has 3 "Elephants feet" cooking at the same time and people are always queuing out the door to sample the magical spesh. Once you have eaten a "spesh" any other Donner, from any other establishment will never taste as good. People travel miles to obtain a "shally spesh" and once you dine on one, you will too. Long live Shalimar!

The food here is really nice and fresh and the staff are friendly too. They aren't on Just-eat so probably get overlooked but worth giving them a call.

The food from Shali's is without a doubt the best kebab in the North-West. The food is high quality, generous portions and quickly delivered. Order with confidence - you are going to get a good, tasty meal.

I'd first like to say that honestly, you have provided the best kebab I have ever eaten in my entire life. At a slim weight of just 22 Stone I have visited and tasted many different takeaways from all across the area and I must say, compared to this temple of a fast food establishment, I can admit, without a shadow of a doubt, hands down that this was the best donner meat I have ever placed my fat lips upon. I would highly recommend the Shalimar Special as it must have been crafted by the culinary gods themselves and delivered by their own angels. I was first introduced to this behemoth of a eatery by my old man, who has sadly passed away several years ago due to a cardiac arrest. Doctors blamed his death on the fact that he was binge eating, but nothing could get in the way of his passion for this fine kebab and so he ensured that he would spend his last final moments feasting on the world famous Shalimar Special. Overall good kebabs, if you have never been, go.
