Simple pub but with a wide choice. Slow but kind service.

It's expensive to eat and drink in UK. Our Canadian money doesn't go very far.

We stopped for lunch a few days ago before catching a train from Victoria. The place is quite large and well looked after, fast service and excellent burgers/sandwiches. Good selection of beers too, lots of local options. Advised!

The nice pub close to Victoria station. I got good possibilities to meet with friends who came here from different location. The bartender checked all the ales and decided not to recommend one of them. I don't know why. Maybe it was the leftovers but it was nice to see him care about what we were going to drink.

Booked in before our theatre evening, staff super friendly and helpful, lots of draft choice, I had a quality Camden Hells, with a steak & ale pie, considering where you are, both very reasonably priced, pie was huge, very good quality, a big struggle to eat it all, the only criticism is, quite noisy when I was in, but, it is a pub

Great pub feeling! Food is more like fast food - everything is baked or fried, but delicious. Interesting: the calories are everywhere 😜, so you can still keep a little control.

First experience in an English pub. Not sure of the authenticity, however the food, cider, and service was pretty good.

Called in here for a drink, I had a cherry Bakewell Cocktail, which was very nice. Called in at 4pm it’s a very central pub ideally located within Victoria. Lots of seating in different areas.

The Shakespeare is a large chain pub and it was busy on Sunday. There’s a good choice of drinks though and service was quick too.

Great English pub with as much charm as you would imagine. Great atmosphere and friendly service. Good food and large selection of drinks. Ate “Fish & Chips” for the first time on English soil. The fish was a bit blandly seasoned but ok. But definitely worth a visit.

Abysmal Sunday roast, overcooked veg, inedible steak, cold hard Yorkshire pudding, okay cauliflower. Do not eat here.

The food is grim here. Waste of money. The Sunday roast is the saddest looking plate of "food" I've seen. It looks like its all been reheated. Of course they can get away with it because of location but if I were you I'd come for an expensive pint (£7.80 for a Neck Oil) and starve or eat before you get here.

The ladies' lavatories were absolutely disgusting, I've worked at Glastonbury Festival, and I've never seen facilities that were that bad! Hence why it gets 1 star. Definitely avoid! 🤢🤢

THIS PUB TURNS A BLIND EYE TO THIEVES If you value your belongings, stay far away from this place. I came here for a quick meal with two friends, expecting a relaxed afternoon. Instead, I left feeling violated and furious. A woman entered the pub, pretending to beg for money. At the time, I didn’t realize her real intention—she used a paper sign to discreetly cover my phone and walked away with it. She was the only person who came near me, and I have no doubt it was her. But here’s what’s truly shocking: when I reported it to the staff, they casually admitted that she’s a ‘regular customer’ and that many customers have had their valuables stolen. Their excuse? "We can’t stop her from coming in." So, let me get this straight—this pub knowingly allows a known thief to prey on customers, time and time again, and does nothing to protect them? That’s beyond negligence—it’s outright indifference. If you don’t want to leave this place robbed and frustrated, I strongly suggest you go elsewhere.

Unfriendly staff, cold food, zero service. Make sure you walk passed this place, a lot of better places nearby that DO offer great service and food. Keep away from this place.

I loved everything about this place.

I went here last night for a couple of beers. I finished it off because I felt unsafe. There is this two guys on the opposite table. The bald guy, keeps staring at me like a watchdog waiting to attack. As an asian decent, and first time here in London, thought he must be a skinhead wanted to start something. Its a pity. So before I get into trouble, i decided to leave after just 1 beer.

It was great from the atmosphere through the food and drinks. Aayushi was really nice and ready to serve us.

Decent pub food, packed house. Small portions on the sides. Fun atmosphere. Service is self serve but the staff was nice. Easy to get to. I would give them a better rating but the bathroom was inexcusable, filthy overrunning toilets.

The Shakespeare is a quite nice pub with a good ambiance and quick service. We ate the Steak and Ale pie which was very nice, and the BBQ chicken which was nicely seasoned and well-done. We were helped by Aayushi

Good location and selection of drinks. It gets quite busy at times but friendly staff will do their best to make sure that your drinks keep coming.

Stopped in here for lunch while visiting London for the day. Both the food and drinks were delicious. Aayushi took care of us at our table and service was great!

I have just been charged £9.40 for a single G&T with a “standard” gin (Plymouth). All other gins, including higher end brands, are around £8.10 - £8.40. Apparently Plymouth is the most expensive. What is this world coming to?

Had dinner with friends in The Shakespeare tonight. Fast, friendly bar and food service. Delicious food, great atmosphere. All the staff so nice but shoutout to Ruby and Maddy who looked after us. Will be back for sure.

A cold day in London so decided to have a drink somewhere in the warm. It was warmer than outside but not by that much. Didn’t have any food as it looked a bit non-handmade and a bit on the side of fast food.

Arrived at The Shakespeare this morning. Greeted by wonderful friendly staff that went above and beyond to make us feel welcome on our first family trip to London. Fabulous food, extra special burgers and kids catered for expertly. Rob in particular couldn't have been more accommodating. A great place to start our adventure!

We had a snack. They offer 3 small plates for £17 and the 3 we chose were utterly delicious 😋 and filling. We'll be back another time when we're passing through Victoria.

Typical place where you can eat at any time. The decor is as you would imagine for an English pub. The food is okay but not amazing. Despite this we had a good time

Handy pub for waiting to go to Apollo theatre, expensive for food and drinks, especially wine, loos have a lot to be desired, wonky floor as you go in... at lunch, barbecue chicken was OK and chips good, but later went back for cheese toasty and coffee..toasty.... don't bother.... total waste of money, coffee arrived stone cold... waitress said machine not working!! But surely would have felt it was cold when bringing it to table!! After consulting manager.... it was replaced with cup of tea.....

We had a reservation here for 20:30 on New Year’s Eve for food. We booked the table online and got a confirmation email. However when we turned up they said the kitchen was closed even though we seen people still eating. The staff was very rude and not accommodating atall. This was a disgrace as we could not find any other food places that late on one of the busiest nights off the year. We ended up having to get a takeaway to our hotel. Which ruined our trip to London. Even the security woman on the door said that it wasn’t good enough that we could make a reservation and not get food.

It's a shame to pay for dessert and never get it! We waited 50 minutes, we could have waited longer, but we've been here since 6.45pm, so we had to leave at 8.45pm. 35 minutes then we asked and waited 25 minutes again! All we got was help from security for a ramp and from a waitress. All the while we waited to clear our plates and glasses and waited desperately for our dessert. The waitresses blatantly ignored us. When I wanted to ask for my dessert I just made a gesture and in the end a fake smile for having come! 44.50 lives for two coca cola, two plates and no dessert! They came several times for those who drank or those who ate but we never got any "everything's ok? nothing' except "Thanks you" when they cleared us? Wow. thanks to the security for helping us! To be avoided by tourists (loss of money)! And I wouldn't recommend it to my English-speaking friends... for a first experience in a London pub, it's a shame because the setting and atmosphere were nice!

Hmm I have been here several times to eat their chicken wings, I particularly like the Nishiville sauce. Greatly located by Victoria Station. Do try their food if your nearby.

We ate a very good fish a chips. Place was very nice and they did not take too long to bring the food. I would recommend it to try the typical British pub.

The theme is fascinating and I think that for that reason alone it is worth visiting if you are a tourist. We wanted to try the famous fish and potatoes and at least I didn't like it, no one told us where to sit, we grabbed a table and they told us that if we wanted to eat we had to pay first. It didn't take them long to serve us but I think the food is not that good.

It's a bar! With great food. I gave some people a thumbs up as they looked at the menu posted outside on the wall. They came in! The meal was fantastic. Meat pie, peas and mashed potatoes. No room for desert.
