Great food, great service and wonderful service by Didi and Dan . We had the barbecue chicken with fries. A bottle of Merlot topped off the meal. Great location near Victoria Station.

Great service, very friendly staff (Dan was fantastic!) definitely recommend. Very reasonable meal prices too, considering usual London prices.

Stopped in for a quick bite at the end of our trip. Food was delicious, Dan provided great fast service and a nice quiet atmosphere inside. Will come back for our next trip!

Nice atmosphere, perfect pub if you want to wait for the train alone without be troubled. The staff is very caring and the food is yummy . I had Mac&cheese and I really enjoyed it.

Nice place but the food was bad, The steak and Ale Pie was terrible. Had 2 small pieces of steak. Complained and they did nothing.

Steak and ale pie with mashed potatoes was excellent. Came out piping hot, perfect. Dennis our waiter was top notch. Never waited on any service. Highly recommend while in London.

Convenient place for a pint, featuring several cask pulled ales. Outside, several tops for drinking or inside many tables around for food too. Entry is regulated if you are underage.

The pub is self service via app or order at bar. Difficult to enjoy a multi order party because of the app or bar ordering distractions.

I came in with my family. The atmosphere was great, Madison and Vidhi was a great hostess, the drinks came quick and the food was delicious. 10/10 recommended

Generous portions with excellent fish and chips and garlic bread. Large variety of excellent beers on tap. The best pub in Westminster among those we tried on holiday.

Had the most amazing barmaid Madison she made us so welcomed after arriving from Australia and no knowledge of your beer 10 out of 10 judi

Had a very near miss with someone nearly stealing my bag which contained valuables but luckily my friend saw and I managed to take it back outside the door. Not necessarily the pub’s fault but something to be conscious of in a pub near the station!

I recently visited the place with my family. I had a great time over there. The Asian security guy welcomed us with a smile and also helped us to get placed. The food was amazing. Fish and chips are to die for, the british girl who brought us food, made sure we have everything. Best night.

Atmosphere was great as the euros was on. The food though, I only had a toasted cheese sandwich and how can you get that wrong? Well first one was so hard i could even bite it, or cut it with a knife. Asked them to change it politely and got it slid across the table at me (I understand they were busy) and so underdone this time the bread wasn't coloured at all but still couldn't eat it as it was still rock hard, either stale or left under the hot plate for ages personally I'd say a lot of both. What a waste for £11.95 . Would've been an extra tooth filling charge if I'd tried to eat it too.

Delicious food, refreshing, delicious drinks and comfy, homey atmosphere. Sticky toffee pudding is a MUST TRY!

Traditional pie looked scary and it did not taste good. Bear on the other hand was as always delicious.

While offering a good quality of beer and a wide selection, the pub has very lousy customers. And I do understand it's not their fault, but people just can't seem to behave and talk very loudly.

This pub and grub is cool aesthetically speaking and that is the extent of its greatness. Service was awful. We waited for the lunch menu which we were told began at noon. When we went back to the same waitress at noon she was going to serve a man just in off the street even though we were ahead in line. Thankfully the man in off the street was more courteous than the staff and said we were there first. I ordered the steak sandwich. Much to my dismay I could have made far the same sandwich with some wonder bread and a few pieces of dried up beef jerky. The sandwich was not satisfactory in the least.

I went for lunch today and ordered the BBQ chicken. When it arrived and can only describe it as "food rations". I had 2 small onion rings, a few chips and three small tomatoes. The chicken was the thing which felt like the right portion size. Couldn't believe it. I paid £17 for it!🤣 Hopefully they read this review and make improvements to the meal portions. One last thing - the atmosphere was dark and dull. You need to add some life into the place.

Aayushi - the best service in the world

Went in for breakfast on Saturday morning, ordered their full English, toast and a pint of pepsi. The full English and toast were reasonably priced but was very surprised when a pint of pepsi was £4.85. Still, round the corner from Victoria station, clearly aimed at squeezing pennies from tourists etc, I get it. My friend went up and ordered the same full English only to have the girl at the bar turn around in front of her and shout out to the guy in a kitchen outfit that people keep offering breakfasts so she's going to take them off now. (At this time ONLY the breakfast menu was available). We waited a bit and food started to arrive, first breakfast came out and seemed fine but when mine came it was clearly lacking some items that had been listed on the menu, when my other friends came out hers was the same. We pointed out that there were no sausages in either of them and the waitress apologised and took the plates away. She returned a couple of minutes later with the same plates and told us that they had run out, so that's why there was some extra bacon. My friend said she was fine with that and I got a refund which was quickly processed. My issue with the situation was that it felt love it was dealt with in a very sneaky way. When the girl at the bar was saying about not selling more breakfasts it was clearly because they were out of items then, but nobody said anything to us. When they were making the breakfasts, nobody told us that they were out of some items. When the breakfasts were bought out to us they were placed down and nothing was said, and the waitress didn't seem too surprised when we pointed out that they were missing items. She must serve hundreds a week, and she didn't realise it was missing anything? Realistically they knew from when we ordered that they didn't have all of the items needed but tried to take our money and sneak it past us going that we either wouldn't notice it wouldn't say. This simply isn't acceptable. If we had ordered and been told at any point, 'by the way, we are out of some items, we can give extra of others to make up for it if you like', I would have had no problem at all. But to try and sneak the issue past us hoping that no one would say anything is bad.

Overall it is a nice pub for a drink or meal. They have Sunday roast but not every week.

I was expecting a nice British pub experience, but was disappointed. The service was really friendly, but the restaurant was a bit untidy and the toilets were in a very poor condition. I ordered BBQ chicken and the portion of chicken was so dry that you couldn't cut a piece with a knife and there was so much cheese sauce on it that it covered all the BBQ taste.

love this place been drinking in her for over 30 years it's just as shame that the downstairs wasn't open when I went recently

There’s plenty of places in and around Victoria Station - so why not stand out when you have so much competition? The Shakespeare tries to be a pub with traditional pub food - good niche since it’s not what is happening at other places nearby. I had the full English and it was avarage - I liked the eggs and the bacon plus the tomatoes - the rest was not good: really boring sausages without any taste and some hash browns also without anything to be remembered . The orange juice was from supermarket and not freshly squeezed. What would I do? Get better sausages Get freshly squeezed orange juice

One of the more reasonable priced pubs in the London area with amazing food and service! The atmosphere is so comfortable and cozy, would 100% recommend if visiting the area and want a to grab a bite to eat

BLT the worse thing I’ve ever eaten. Bread not toasted, cold and chicken from pack. Not good

Doorman was the best thing about this pub. Sense of humour and polite. Bar itself was sticky and in need of a clean. Barmaids served me OK. Struggled with my accent but I got the drinks I needed in the end. The random table I sat at to the left of the door was sticky as well. Drinks were over priced for what I got but it's London and what I expected.

Went to Shakespeare and hae to say that the service was immaculate. Shatakshi was my bartender and I have to say that I am completely impressed - the drinks were amazing, she was friendly and the service was 10/10

Food incomplete and no mention of it when delivered to the table. When questioned advised they had no vegetable, but no price reduction offered or alternative given. Service seemed oh well that’s it. Shocking won’t go back,

Excellent food! They have a gluten free menu! My gluten free chicken BLT was good and my friends got to enjoy fish &chips in a real British Pub. Great meal! Finished off a fun day in London.

My fam and I were visiting from Hertfordshire. The pub in front of the station was just the perfect relief that we folks were looking for. The food and the drinks were lovely. The little fella, Shatakshi serving there made our visit even more endearing. Good talk and great suggestions!

It was very cold inside. The air conditioning is extremely strong and unnecessary for the external climate. The fish and chips are wonderful!

Slow service, waited 20 minutes for £35 drinks. The pub was hot and stuffy with no air conditioning or air flow.

Came in by chance with sis, we had a fabulous breakfast, alue foe money. Thank you.

Vicky was so helpful. We are visiting from the US. We had no idea how to order. He not only helped us with that, but when I went to the bar ( the second time). He gave a me an array of choices that wasn’t given before. He is truly an asset to this company. He seems to care for his patrons. Five stars for this guy!!

Very poor quality food expensive

My mom and I visited Shakespeare on Monday, 13 May 2024, right before 1000pm, which was about their food last order. However, all the staff welcomed us with great smiles and service, and the food and beer the bartender/ server recommended us were all delicious. One of our dreams to do in London "visiting a pub" became so memorable and made us come back here in the next three days. Each day, we got different foods and beers, and everything we had here was good. The staff service every time was great, especially Ricky, I am sorry if I got his name wrong, though. He was a server on Wednesday, 15th May 2024, at the table 24 area. He was very respectful and attentive, and his hard work and great service made our bad day and the last night in London wonderful. All the staff and food/ beer at Shakespeare made our London travel amazing and made us want to visit London/ England again. We highly recommend here to visit 🙂

As a tourist, I didn't realise the Sunday roast was a lunch thing and not a dinner thing, so they ran out. They were however gracious enough to still have some Yorkshire Pudding left as I wanted to try this.

Location is typical english pub, staff is Bush, but kind. Unfortunately I can’t appreciate food, pour meat quality, big portions.
