Great place outside of Victoria station to recover from not going to Paddington near our Airbnb

The macaroni and cheese was gummy and sticky. The garden salad was sparse and the "crispy fried potatoes to share" were neither fried, crispy or shareable. Ordering was a pain and the only available water came from a lemon water station in a corner. I guess it lived up to the Shakespeare name as it was a comedy of errors all night.

Great atmosphere at The Shakespeare! Hetvi was incredibly helpful—she recommended a fantastic local ale that I wouldn’t have picked myself. Friendly and attentive. A great spot for a after work drink. Will definitely be back!

Amazing pub, lovely atmosphere…food is ok, the best thing of my experience was service for sure, Pare was so kind and nice!!! She described me carefully different beers and I now discover thanks to her my new favourite one!! Thanks Pare!!! See you next time!!

So I came to Shakespeare with a couple of my friends on a Friday night. I personally had a great interaction with Pare. She was great to talk to and recommend me some good drinks to try out. Definitely coming back again for a drink. :)

Dirty! Barmen was not in the mood. Young white guy. Get a dirty glass with the taste of previous customer. Went on bar and another barmen Indian nice guy, search and after couple of glasses finally find the clean one. Generally some death atmosphere. Dn why. Ordered cup of sweet potato chips and asked for a mayo and ketchup on the side. Ask to pay and I have been told it's complimentary. We just wanted something with beer. Came small pot with nice potato but no place to put mayo or ketchup. We use tissue and dip our fries like that. After all you'll understand that we're not realy happy. Such a shame as this place have a lot of potential.

Great pub! It's a big place, has fast service and really good food. There was no wait for the table and food came in quickly. I recommend it.

This was a random find. I decided to walk from Hyde Park to Victoria to catch the train and since I was early pub it was ;) Staff were friendly, Hetvi helped me choose a veggie option as i couldn't make up my mind. She recommended a halloumi wrap which was good :) location is very convenient as they're opposite the station too!

I came with my friends after visiting Buckingham palace and we stopped by at the pub to have lunch and drinks. The food for delicious and the service was great as well. Heptvi served us at the bar and gave us suggestions for drinks and food. I recommend people to visit this pub.

Probably best not to eat here. Looks nice from the outside, maybe have a drink but don't order food with any expectations of enjoying it.

A necessary stop to have a good English beer 😍🍺 in a traditional pub and with its classic interior and the beautiful music of the 40's and 50's, it is the best thing that makes you feel like you are returning to the past to live a unique experience of the golden times.

Beautiful pub, although usually in pubs you order at the counter by communicating the table, this pub provided the possibility of ordering via app, which I found very useful especially for us tourists who speak little English. We ordered two sandwiches, one of which was vegetarian and they were excellent, then served with chips and sauces. The service was very fast and the atmosphere was beautiful

The food was wonderful and hetvi was our server. She was friendly.

Busy pub close to London Victoria Station great for a post train journey pint, always go in there when I head up to London, no seating outside if you want to drink and smoke you'll have to stand.

Service really let them down. Ordered food with beans and was served with peas. It took them 30 minutes to replace the dish using the excuse that there were other orders ahead of it. Really!!! That dish should've been a priority. It meant that everyone else had finished their meal before it turned up.

I had some delicious Fish and Chips for lunch. Great service, friendly staff! A lovely respite between morning and afternoon sightseeing. The Pub and Dining Room are connected which created a very British atmosphere for this group from "across the pond." I will have lunch here again if I am able to return to London.

We stopped for lunch a few days ago before catching a train from Victoria. The place is quite large and well looked after, fast service and excellent burgers/sandwiches. Good selection of beers too, lots of local options. Advised!

Booked in before our theatre evening, staff super friendly and helpful, lots of draft choice, I had a quality Camden Hells, with a steak & ale pie, considering where you are, both very reasonably priced, pie was huge, very good quality, a big struggle to eat it all, the only criticism is, quite noisy when I was in, but, it is a pub

It's a nice place, with good food, a good location (in front of Victoria Station) and you have a great time with friends...

The nice pub close to Victoria station. I got good possibilities to meet with friends who came here from different location. The bartender checked all the ales and decided not to recommend one of them. I don't know why. Maybe it was the leftovers but it was nice to see him care about what we were going to drink.

Great pub feeling! Food is more like fast food - everything is baked or fried, but delicious. Interesting: the calories are everywhere 😜, so you can still keep a little control.

First experience in an English pub. Not sure of the authenticity, however the food, cider, and service was pretty good.

Called in here for a drink, I had a cherry Bakewell Cocktail, which was very nice. Called in at 4pm it’s a very central pub ideally located within Victoria. Lots of seating in different areas.

Decent food, though the Burger was well-done. Seemed like a good spot for a pint. Surprised to see the same menu as everywhere else, but that's my bad, I guess.

The Shakespeare is a large chain pub and it was busy on Sunday. There’s a good choice of drinks though and service was quick too.

Great English pub with as much charm as you would imagine. Great atmosphere and friendly service. Good food and large selection of drinks. Ate “Fish & Chips” for the first time on English soil. The fish was a bit blandly seasoned but ok. But definitely worth a visit.

Abysmal Sunday roast, overcooked veg, inedible steak, cold hard Yorkshire pudding, okay cauliflower. Do not eat here.

The food is grim here. Waste of money. The Sunday roast is the saddest looking plate of "food" I've seen. It looks like its all been reheated. Of course they can get away with it because of location but if I were you I'd come for an expensive pint (£7.80 for a Neck Oil) and starve or eat before you get here.

The ladies' lavatories were absolutely disgusting, I've worked at Glastonbury Festival, and I've never seen facilities that were that bad! Hence why it gets 1 star. Definitely avoid! 🤢🤢

THIS PUB TURNS A BLIND EYE TO THIEVES If you value your belongings, stay far away from this place. I came here for a quick meal with two friends, expecting a relaxed afternoon. Instead, I left feeling violated and furious. A woman entered the pub, pretending to beg for money. At the time, I didn’t realize her real intention—she used a paper sign to discreetly cover my phone and walked away with it. She was the only person who came near me, and I have no doubt it was her. But here’s what’s truly shocking: when I reported it to the staff, they casually admitted that she’s a ‘regular customer’ and that many customers have had their valuables stolen. Their excuse? "We can’t stop her from coming in." So, let me get this straight—this pub knowingly allows a known thief to prey on customers, time and time again, and does nothing to protect them? That’s beyond negligence—it’s outright indifference. If you don’t want to leave this place robbed and frustrated, I strongly suggest you go elsewhere.

The Shakespeare is a quite nice pub with a good ambiance and quick service. We ate the Steak and Ale pie which was very nice, and the BBQ chicken which was nicely seasoned and well-done. We were helped by Aayushi

I loved everything about this place.

I went here last night for a couple of beers. I finished it off because I felt unsafe. There is this two guys on the opposite table. The bald guy, keeps staring at me like a watchdog waiting to attack. As an asian decent, and first time here in London, thought he must be a skinhead wanted to start something. Its a pity. So before I get into trouble, i decided to leave after just 1 beer.

Decent pub food, packed house. Small portions on the sides. Fun atmosphere. Service is self serve but the staff was nice. Easy to get to. I would give them a better rating but the bathroom was inexcusable, filthy overrunning toilets.

I have just been charged £9.40 for a single G&T with a “standard” gin (Plymouth). All other gins, including higher end brands, are around £8.10 - £8.40. Apparently Plymouth is the most expensive. What is this world coming to?

Had dinner with friends in The Shakespeare tonight. Fast, friendly bar and food service. Delicious food, great atmosphere. All the staff so nice but shoutout to Ruby and Maddy who looked after us. Will be back for sure.
