Shahjahan Take Away in Leeds

Always used to buy from here as their chicken batter was.the best. But never again. Last time I got it I realised that the hair is still on the skin!!!! I let them off as thought maybe it was a one time thing. Today same thing! They do not clean their chicken. Never again.

Run down hill dramatically. The reviews are definitely true. Not the same it was.

Not sure if these guys are muslims. I went in and no Salam from boss. There was an Indian in the kitchen making my food. The food was horrible. The chips are old and greassy ...chicken was not all that. Never again.

I went to this place, and found that this used to own by A Muslim. But this time there was not any muslim. I ask the serving guy, if it halal he replied yes, it says outside. Then I ask where from you buy chicken then he do not know. I would recommend other people to not buy food from here. One of my friend who eat regularly already stopped buying from them. I will rather buy from KFC as most local KFC are hfa halal. It is a big company so I do not think if they sell any other chicken then hfa. Or buy Luciano "apna style" pizza in hyde park. Or Adil's on burley road,Buy donner meat or cheese burger. Any one recommend some good tasty takeaway place in harehill area.

Young lad needs to be sacked called to order he said they are closed 1 hour later they are still opened this is the second time he is doing this. He is a bad example if he is not the owner

If you want freshly made fried chicken this is the place to visit. Whenever I'm in the area, and fancy some fried chicken, this is the place I go to. They make the best fried chicken. Dare I say, better than KFC, in my opinion! Just a shame they are not on any of the online delivery platforms, such as Just Eat or Uber Eats, otherwise I would order regularly. I also recommend you try the doner meat with chilli sauce and salad.

Ordered a chicken burger and a cheese burger then I saw the chicken just came out fresh so ordered 2 piece of chicken only to get home and he had given me old oil filled chicken pieces when I even asked for the fresh one. The chicken burger was hard. The cheeseburger was OK. They don't do mayonnaise which is a disappointment too. Overall a very bad experience and I've been eating food from here for years. They have gone downhill drastically. This is the 3rd time I've had a bad experience with shahjahan. Do not recommend to anyone anymore. 👎

An option to go to, on a late night when most places are shut. Chips were below par, the fried chicken was good and the chicken fillet burger was okay. The mint sauce was the highlight. The problem with this place, if you’re on foot and don’t have cash, they don’t take card. They charge 50p for a mayonnaise or chili sauce tub which is ridiculous. Beyond this, they reject putting sauces on your food which is standard for any take away. EDIT*** Revisited here, what a let down. The mint sauce was watered down and the chicken and chips that’s usually good was definitely no where near to a decent standard. I’ll avoid for a while, I can only presume this is either due to change of staff or an off day? Nevertheless, not for me. 👎

Donner meat was uncooked went straight into the bin, they sometimes over charge you so be careful and lastly don’t use their toilets as they are disgusting, I defo won’t be coming here again Found a hair in the yogurt sauce few months ago but I gave them a second chance so had to write a review

Below average food, chicken was cold and extremely dry. For fried chicken not sure how that's even possible. Doesn't accept card aswell. Will not be visiting this place again. A shame because I heard good things about this place but sadly my visit was far from it!

Overpriced and overrated food. £5 for a thin chicken burger and cheap bog standard chips (no drink included). 50p for a tub of sauce. They have no respect for customers. I'm surprised they don't charge you to breathe air in their shop!

I have tried 2 days. Chicken and fires are recooked. My experience is very bad. I will never try it again.

It has its ups and downs. The kofta burger and lamb burger are really nice, I'd recommend them. They do a nice mint sauce. Food is always fresh. My latest experience wasn't the best however, I ordered hot wings and chips. Hot as in crispy fried hot wings but when I opened the box to my surprise there were wings fried and just completely drowned in hot sauce, if I wanted saucy wings I would've ordered the peri peri.

Got 1 box of spicy wings and chips was so angry with what i was given, everything was old, chicken was all black and rock hard all of it went in the bin. Never gonna go there again!

30 years experience in frying chicken 👌🏻 EDIT: The quality of the food has just gone straight down hill! The chicken was so bland and tasteless, the fries looked like they were a day old. This is not how this place used to be, it is now disgusting!

A great little takeaway. The fried chicken (KFC style) is nice, so are the chicken burgers. The donner meat is ok, but I don’t think its fresh cut as there is no donner machine. Its warmed / microwaved in the back. Very reasonable prices. Open until late, so always a great option.

The food is excellent also chicken chips have the old traditional recipe which is unforgettable. But, the charge you for drinks and sauces which is a steal Overall 3 stars

Food is nice but opening timing published on Google is incorrect. Shop never opened at 12pm on Saturday and Sunday. I waited until 4pm but shop was closed.

I used to really like this place and would purchase food from here on a regular basis. However, over the last 4-5 years or so the standard has slipped. I have randomly visited over the last few years in the hope the standard/quality may have improved but, unfortunately it hasn't.

I used to love this place when the Bengali gentleman owned this takeaway. But now I don't buy food from here for a while as I knew it had changed hands. The worst ever shock on the quality of the chicken is very poor. The chicken pieces have shrunk and the price gone up. It doesn't even taste the same any more. The yoghurt sauce was my favourite but not it's watered down and is a little bland now. So I am not every coming back here again.

Best Chicken Fillet burger I’ve tried, Best Wings & Chips. Just be aware when ordering a family pack, if you want all wings they can get funny about it, so confirm over as telephone order if you have specific requests.
