Shagorika in Sunderland

Visité aquí no hace mucho tiempo y era muy agradable, no así ahora, el pollo era duro y seco y extrañamente redondo en forma, de congelado creo .. También se veía un poco rosado por dentro... El entrante estuvo bien, pero no volveré, ¿qué tan difícil podría ser cocinar pollo? Escudos de vuelta al sur, creo.

Hermosa comida, servicio fantástico y personal. Un montón de comida por el costo, muy recomendable. También le compraron a mi hija un pedazo grande de pastel de chocolate con una vela.

Fui con la familia a celebrar el cumpleaños de mis nietas, primero sacaron comida extra que nunca pedimos, luego cuando llegó la factura se envió de vuelta dos veces, ya que habían intentado cobrar por la comida extra y bebidas adicionales. Pedí del menú especial y me cobraron por la comida del menú principal. Nunca más.

Lovely food, but the restaurant was so cold, the heating can't have been on. A warm room makes all the difference.. We hope that when we visit next time the heating will be working and on.

The food is very good but the service is deplorable. Also I like to eat the way I won’t eat ie I like pickles with my main course I kept having to stop them taking them away. Unless they change their way of thinking I won’t be back.

Visited here on New Years Day with the hubby & been coming here for years, I am simply gobsmacked by the nasty negative reviews and can honestly say they must be mistaken for somewhere else. I got the chicken momo which is shredded chicken in spices onions rolled up in filo pastry and fried & the hubby got fish pakora’s ( outstanding and full of flavour ). I then got tikka chicken sizzling plate which was packed with chicken peppers spices and onions, hubby got the sea food sizzling plate which was also packed and full of flavour. We also got the garlic chips which were homemade and fabulous also a garlic and coriander nan bread. I got a bottle of Prosecco and hubby got a few kingfisher pint lagers which he loves. If there is something you don’t like on the dish you want just tell the staff and they’ll change it for you, want the dish less spicy or more spicy then just tell them. The staff are outstanding very polite and very friendly. The restaurant is spotless and clean. It’s family run and I can’t understand peoples negativity towards this wonderful Indian restaurant. Please visit and don’t listen to the negativity. By the way I normally have the curries which are great and plentiful! Cannot wait for our next visit. Food horrible Sweet tikka masala sauce Chicken tandoori not cooked in tandoor lamb shish very tough and tasteless Pilau rice is just steamed rice with garnish too much artificial red colour. I was fooled by reviews,

Can't understand why anyone would leave good review the currys were very thin watery and sugary the chicken korma sauce just ran off it leaving the chicken looking disgusting Service was poor staff didn't seem very confident in what they were doing was quiet but still didn't have a good service don't no why we were charged a service charge on top off overpriced low quality food

First time back here in quite a long time, petty, because previous visit were far far superior that this last one, which by the way will be the last one, as the portion were smaller, and the costs have risen significantly

We ate here last night and enjoyed the food and service. But the ladies toilet needs immediate attention. The floor was dirty. The metal toilet paper & brush holder was filthy and rusty, very disgusting. Had I used the loo before ordering, I would have walked out, my partner said the gents were the same. Outside the restaurant is littered with cigarette butts, looks awful. Come on guys , get s brush out. Clean your toilets up. I’ll never come back for the above reasons, perhaps many return customers have been lost due to poor housekeeping.

The Shagorika Indian restaurant 3 Queens Parade, Seaburn, Sunderland SR6 8DA Date visited: 4th September 2023 A very rare and beautiful September day and I’m looking at the gaps on my map of places to visit. A friend suggested some time ago the Shagorika in Sunderland, as a place worthy of a visit. So, with Satnav in hand, off I headed for the East coast. A nice little place is Seaburn, Clean and tidy. But if you are taking the missus, and she wants to do some shopping, forget it! There are a few restaurants and drinking houses and a Sainsbury’s, but I’m afraid that’s about it! NO shops to be found anywhere! But the place was very busy with people wandering down the promenade and playing ball game on the beach. A brilliant place to people watch! You will find the Shagorika towards the end of a row of restaurants at the far end of the Prom. A clean, comfortable 60 or so seater with a licenced bar and a very extensive menu. I was met and shown to a table by a nice guy by the name of Faz, there was another guy wandering round, but for some reason he preferred to concentrate on an Asian couple that occupied a table in front of mine and almost totally blanked me! Anyway, it was a difficult task deciding what I should choose from the very extensive menu, so besides the usual suspects, Poppadom’s with a very nice pickle tray, I went for the Tandoori Thali, with Chicken Tika, Lamb Tika, Sheek kebab, A timbale of boiled rice, and a Madras curry sauce, with a plain naan. I have to say that this window on the delights of the Shagorika was spot on. Piping hot, full of flavour and reasonably priced. Faz informed me that the restaurant has been there for forty-three years so they must be doing something right! So, to the points, Faz was great, attentive and friendly, it’s a shame the other bloke let them down a bit, I asked Fez for a takeout menu as I collect them basically to prove that I’ve been there but unfortunately, he informed me that they have not got any. But new ones should be with them next week, So I pushed him for an old menu, and he came up trumps with and old menu.! So, I’m going to give it 8.5 out of 10, the food was delicious. Parking was unbelievably easy, right outside the door and £3.00 all day! Price £29.30.2wsc

We have walked past this restaurant many times but decided to try it out, I'm so glad we did. We were welcomed by the staff and seated with a drinks order taken after a few minutes. We took our time choosing our food but weren't made to feel rushed, we had poppadoms with the dips and were delicious and fresh. We then had a sizzling tandoor dish, these were amazing, so tasty without drying out meat. The garlic and plain naan were crispy and fluffy, again delicious. I am so glad we tried this restaurant, my only complaint is that we didn't try it sooner.

After a nice afternoon out we came for the early evening set menu. The food was lovely, had a starter each, Childs meal came with the starter so he was happy! Only managed to get a few pics as we were so hungry but the food was excellent! Everything was hot, well seasoned and not too salty or spicy! Rice and naan were perfect! The service was great, we were the only people in for a while so had all the attention! They guys that work there were all great, the lady was lovely too but she didn’t understand a lot of our drinks order and we found it hard to talk to her but she was so nice. They guys stepped in to help her. Managed to get our drinks a bit wrong but we just rolled with it-we’re very chill! lol Lovely, clean restaurant-I really enjoyed my view of the sea, I felt like I was on holiday! We really enjoyed our meal but found the drinks to be pricey, even choosing the cheapest options! They also added a service charge which we didn’t like as we usually prefer to tip-the irony is that our tip would have been more than double what they added-maybe something they should bare in mind! The only reason I didn’t rate this higher is because of the menu. The menus are presented in a really weird font that we struggled to read! Once we deciphered what it said, were ok but it was a bit challenging! I hope the restaurant takes note of that. Overall a pricey, but great meal! We’d definitely return!

We treated family to yet another great meal at the Shagorika on a Sunday evening. As always we enjoyed a delicious set of meals with the usual excellent service. Our 10 year old nephew has already declared it to be the best curry house in the word Just a matter of time before our next visit

Service was quite poor. Some big parties in and they seemed to be prioritised so we had to wait quite a while. Food wasn't as good as some other local Indian restaurants. Presentation was poor. Then they started vacuuming around us when we were still seated!

First class Indian meal and great service. Great choice of menu and lovely set tables. Remember that a service charge is added to final bill.

First time visiting. Beautiful food and friendly staff. First class experience. Will definitely be visiting again.

Been here many many times and tonight I was faced with the new menu…..so much to choose from but went for the Lamb Shank, Madras hot. Just bloody amazing. I know my curries and eat at least 2 a week and this was just top...

We dropped in for dinner without a reservation and the staff and whole atmosphere was just really lovely. Especially recommend the naan breads! Faiyaz & co could not have looked after us any better. Thank you so much ❤️

Amazing food. Fresh ingredients, amazing flavours, great staff. Tandoori Lamb chops, peshwari naan and the special biryani from the chefs recommendations was phenomenal.

This is the worst meal I've ever had! I've been to this restaurant many times and the food has always been good. On this occasion it was terrible. I had dansak which is my favourite Indian dish and it was tasteless water. No lentil consistency,...

First visit last night. Food cooked well but lacked flavour. Very bland. Madrass curry hardly any spice or flavours. Started cooked well but also lacking in flavour. Restaurant nice and staff were friendly. Just a shame about the food

The customer service from the very beginning was outstanding each worker was polite and respectful. Food was incredible. So many flavours that complimented each other and was not over powering. The presentation of each meal was also beautiful. Would not think twice about dining here...

We often stay in Sunderland for weekends whilst visiting friends and family. It’s now got to the stage where we can’t visit without a trip to this restaurant. The food is always amazing and the staff really friendly I can’t recommend a visit enough absolutely...

Was here tonight with my husband. We were walking past abs decided to try. Staff were lovely and very attentive. Food was fantastic. Best korma and garlic naan I've eaten. Would definitely recommend if you are ever in the area.
