I had a wonderful dining experience at Serendib South Asian Restaurant The food was absolutely delicious, with authentic South Asian flavors that really stood out. We visited Serandib and had Sawan. The food was really good. Excellent service and atmosphere.

We went specially from Salisbury to this restaurant to taste their most famous food called Shovel. They offered us an outstanding dining experience from start to finish. This is beyond our expectations. Delicious food and mouth watering when reminded. Highly recommend it.

I went there with my family last week, there we ordered 2 chicken rice, 2 sea food rice & plain hoppers. Both rice were made very cheaply. Hoppers were so hard to eat. Definitely I feel like they add something unusual to the batter. Not good to eat them... Don't worth the money at all. Don't visit there...

Never order looking prices of food from their website as they charged from us more at the collection time. Food quality was awful and wasn't enough. A few days back we ordered sea food rice wich had little bit of carrots and leeks and lot of rice but tiny bit of sea food. Just 1 king prawn for the whole container which was ridiculous. I never dorecommend this restaurant to anyone and never go there again . Please don't go there for cheap food .

I went to this restaurant yesterday with my friends and family. Atmosphere: it was dull, dead, not a lively atmosphere. All music was stopped because this young girl had stopped it fully to “study”. Not a pleasant atmosphere Service: the service was terrible. We had to keep getting up just to look for waiters to help us. They were very unapproachable. Food: none of the food was freshly cooked. After eating the food most of us felt very sick. The food was nothing like it was described. Most food we gave back to them because it was nothing like we ordered. Wouldn’t recommend going. Please don’t waste your time :)

Got food poison after shovel food

Customer Service is really poor. The waiter cannot understand English. Only one staff arrange ,cook, take the order , serve also speak in English. Not worth for the money and the time we spent to drove all the way for 50 miles.

The food and the service were excellent. We drove there from Nottingham, and it was totally worth it. We loved the Sri Lankan vibe that was presented in the restaurant itself. The staff were also really friendly and welcoming. I can recommend it to anyone who is looking for a place to relax and taste authentic Sri Lankan cuisine.

We went as a large group (kids included). Had their signature shovel food and milk hoppers. The food was amazing. Everyone loved it. Would definitely come back again. Great service too

We travel from Liverpool to Stoke for this Amazing food and service, and very friendly Chefs. The place is not hard to find There is no sign of MSG as the main thing but overall Wow! Defo will go again ! We had showel rice sharing plater for 4

Restaurant is very dirty and needs better maintenance. The toilets are also dirty and smelly. The customer service was fantastic but very slow service with long waiting time to receive food. The kitchen is clearly understaffed and they need to employ more staff on busy days, like the weekend. We got the shovel biryani - although it tasted nice, it was NOT biryani but more like fried rice. As a suggestion I would advise not having your underaged child behind the bar serving customers on the till. Additionally, the owner came out of the kitchen into restaurant and helped himself to an alcoholic drink, which we felt like was not professional.

Me and my family went Serendib Restaurant to eat their famous 'savala' and we were just amazed at how the staff were so polite.We were also impressed at how they were able to keep everything so organised and keep patient with how packed it was,they also were short-staffed(they are a family run business with only 2-3 people helping out and, it was just amazing at how fast they gave us our food!)I would reccomend to anyone that likes to try new food from around the world and anyone that might not!The food was absolutely delicious.Might I just say his daughter was an absolute angel and was very kind to me and my family!

Food was awful, it’s sauce that’s it that’s all in there. Nothing special and there’s an underage kid working at the till with all the alcoholic beverages at the Bach which is illegal.

Staff not polite. Even though we reserved a table, the staff did not convey the message that full menu was not served on that particular day. There wasn’t much option for the kids. Really disappointed.

We drove all the way from north wales (135 miles up & down) just to enjoy some proper Srilankan food. Food - We ordered 1 chicken, 1 sea food and 1 Cheese Kotth. Menu Availability - 80% of the items we wanted to order from menu were not there, we were told they don’t prepare them anymore, so suggest you to check with them before driving there. I understand they are quite famous for shavel food but they should also make the other foods that are listed on the menu for their customers. Waiting time - we had to wait for more than 1 hour for our food. So pre order it over the phone to avoid any delays. Price Point - Considering the portion i would say they are fair. A small Water bottle small is £2.00 which is normally 60p out side. Service - if you are a Srilankan and have been to Srilankan hotels then you know what you are going to expect.

The worst pizza I've ever eaten in my life

I went to this place on saturday night. Ordered some food. There were 4-5 pieces of chicken each as big as a 50p in a yellowish water. All i could taste was sugar. It was the worst curry i have ever had in my life. ( Sri Lankan style curry) The starter: Two samosas. As big as 50p. Sauce: ketchup and mayonnaise in tubs. (This is supposed to be Sri Lankan restaurant. Dont you have your authentic sauce. ?) I would give 0.5 star for the food. Service: one star It was cold inside: 2 stars The general set up is 4 -5 stars This is a family run business. This is the reason why i am giving you 3 stars. For my experience it would be one star. People will not come back for the food you are serving guys. You need to improve yourself fast . No value for money. i am giving you 3 stars over all. I hope you will get better and succeed. This 3 stars for my experience is very generous. I will not be coming back. Kismet restaurant just 30 yards apposite you was full when you were empty. Why? Think about it. The food you are serving is not up to the standards. Sorry but that was the case. You have a good location and nice set up. I am sure you can do better.

I came all the way from London and I was just astonished by the food and quality service . I really enjoyed with my family and will definitely recommend. Mostly everything is halal and there are many vegetarian options. The atmosphere was truly calming and amazing. Fusion of Italian food and Srilankan was fabulous !!!

We visited Serendib on a cold January night for a treat out. Having never had Sri Lankan food before, we looked forward to trying something different. We are so glad we did, the food was so tasty! I had the tuna cutlets, chicken kottu, and a drink as a desert that had jelly, rose water and ice cream (i can't remember the name but it was fab!). All the food was really good and seemed very home cooked. We were served by the most polite young lady and service was at just the right pace. Thank you for our meal and hospitality, we will definitely be back.

This is the place If u want to have the best feeling of Sri Lankan authentic food in Stoke on Trent ... enjoyed their lumprice, mixed kottu... foods spot on and kids over the moon with their cheesy margherita and also the sea food fried rice... Trying a Lion Stout with an authentic kiri kos is another level...

We have now had two takeaways from Serendib and both have been faultless. Such tasty food with unique flavours and a great level of spice (which can be tailored to your taste). Takes us back to our favourite holiday to Sri Lanka. The man that owns it is really friendly too. We’ll definitely be back time and time again.

Had a really good meal here it's our first visit but certainly not our last staff were fantastic and helpful prices were very reasonable we are planning on going back with our son next week the dish of the day was biryani that my wife had she said it was fantastic

It was cold not much on the buffet but I will go back for a menu meal on a week day to see if there are more choices

If you want to have a great authentic Srilankan food experience, then this is the place. Quality ingredients, and mouth watering Srilankan and South Indian meals. Highly recommended "Koththu" and "Nasigoran". The staff were extremely helpful and professional. They walk that extra mile to help us decide on what to order for kids and the prtions to avoid any waste which was outstanding. Thoroughly recommend this place for your authentic Srilankan experience!!!

Great food, great ambiance, fantastic service. I was with my family Ordered chicken Kottu , Appa (Hoppers), egg parota, plain tea and chips for kids. We also got 1 chicken fried rice and seafood fried rice as take away. Food was GREAT, did not have excessive oil and tasted like a home cooked meal. People got various choices of drinks. The place is child friendly as child seats were there. so we were able to keep our kids with us without any hustle. Washrooms are clean and tidy. Team is amazing. The owner himself is a generous and genuine person as he came to us to check what we want, and get the feedback about their services. Would absolutely return and recommend this place to my friends. Wish them all the best in the future run.

I had a delicious Sri Lankan Fried Rice today at this place. Serves good portion. Amazing staff! They serve all Sri Lankan authentic food along with some South Indian dishes. Worth a try for all Sri Lankan Stokies out there!
