Really helpful staff who genuinely care about your experience. Large airy rooms with large bathrooms. Tea and coffee etc, with fresh milk, and free car parking accessible from the street behind the hotel.

We stayed here for 1 night in April 2023. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Our room was clean and warm and stocked with milk, teas and coffees. Breakfast was delicious with a great choice of options. There was a local map provided and our hosts gave us lots of recommendations to places to eat. Overall a great night away and would recommend.

This place is a ten plus what a fabulous restaurant . We had a fantastic and beautiful cooked meal. You definitely need to go and try this brilliant experience of food which is cooked to the highest quality of perfection. The restaurant is lovely and the staff are excellent the ambience is perfect. We had a five course over three hours which was great and it never felt like three hours. The food melted in your mouth and the flavours was fantastic what a honour to have this opportunity to eat in a restaurant in this class wow . We stayed as well as we wanted to experience the evening with a lovely bottle of wine and port . The room was decorated in a modern style and had everything you needed bed was really comfortable. We are definitely visiting again and staying . We thank you all for a most beautiful evening .

We stay here and eat here three or so times a year, making a 3 hour round trip from where we live its so good. The owners who run the place keep a close eye on standards which ensures its continuing excellence. French inspired menu though short is exceptional. Wine is not cheap but again excellent. Service about the best we now encounter anywhere in the UK. Rooms in the main have character and are a good size and well appointed. A special place for us. Oh yes Oswestry is pretty decent place to visit too.

Great find, great service. I forget the lady's name who welcomed me on arrival (I assume the owner). She was very attentive, sorting my parking at rear, even guiding me when reversing my van - despite having a full restaurant! They have limited parking spaces, fortunately, there are quite a few parking slots for other businesses and they appear to have an agreement for their use until they start at 08.30. She offered me fresh milk for their tea and coffee facilities in the room. Such a simple thing, but makes the difference compared to UHT milk in little cartons, which taint your tea or coffee. Shows attention to detail. The room and bathroom was nice, a super king bed, which was a tad long for the size of the room, so a bit of a minor squeeze to get round to one side, but I'd rather have the super king and the slight squeeze than a shorter smaller bed! I paid circa £80 for the room, no breakfast. But two breakfast options are available. A light breakfast of cereal, fruit etc for £7ish. Or the full breakfast for £12. I went for the later. It was of particularly high quality and definitely worth it. Clearly indicative of the quality of what is a restaurant with rooms. I was only there for the room. My budget couldn't stretch to the £60 per person for a 5 course meal. Next time! Regarding food. The lady understood my limited budget and recommended an absolutely top bistro next door. Which was again a bonus point for Sebastian's. I'll definitely recommend and will be back.

Thoroughly enjoyed staying in the detached accommodation. It was wonderfully decorated, felt very sumptuous and comfortable. All modern amenities and a wonderful working fireplace in the dining room. Booked in advance to ensure a table for dinner; the food was outstanding and quite reasonable. Breakfast the next morning was comprehensive and equally mouth-watering. Staff were exceptional throughout the stay. There is also availability to book spaces for meetings. I would eagerly recommend Sebastians to anyone staying or visiting the area.

We were staying for a week on hoilday in the area and had searched on tripadvisor for a resturant. We booked a few weeks before hand as recommended emails were answered promptly. They offer a 5 course menu for £60 with choice of starter,main and dessert menu changes monthly and oh how I wish we lived nearer as I could see us being there evey month the meal and service was amazing . Thank you for a wonderful evening, no being rushed because they want to cram as many services in as possible the table is yours for evening also as no wine drinks pleasantly nice change to to feel like we had to buy wine.

The staff made the difference to many other restaurants. Attention to detail and customer satisfaction was outstanding. The food exceptional and cannot wait to return.

Went here for an evening meal, very good service, excellent food, good menu choices. Nicely laid out, didn't feel crowded or cramped. They don't rush you through your meal either so it feels nice and relaxed. Will definitely return, but booking in advance is highly recommended due to popularity.

First time staying here. Lovely rooms off a lovely courtyard - like a small oasis in the town centre. Very welcoming and helpful owners. Would look forward to staying here again.

Room was great, unfortunately we didn't pre book the restaurant so missed out on dinner but breakfast was fantastic. Will definitely go back and book the restaurant. The Townhouse next door did a great alternative evening meal.

There is only one word to describe Sebastian's, quality!! The food and service are fantastic. A gem!!

We normally visit every few months but since lockdown we've had a few take away from there. this is no ordinary take away. The food arrives prepared with only 10-20 minutes left to cook for some items, other things are ready to serve. All sealed in ready to roast foil boxes or sealed plastic containers for sauces that can go in the microwave. It's really simple, and all instructions and ingredients are listed on personalised sheets. For Valentines day we had an 8 course meal for the same price as the normal restaurant 5 course meal, and that included a brandy and prosecco cocktail, which we started with, along with roasted canapes, amazing beetroot soup ( with creme fraiche and smoked salmon) and home made bread.Then a crab salad, and fo rmains I had halibut in a superb creamy sauce, while my wife had a butternut squash en croute. Then there was an extra snack, a small bun with welsh rarebit. Desserts were beautifully presented as alwasy, and again both superb. Finally coconut macaroons for me and praline for my wife.We couldnt finish the desserts as there was almost too much food, so had those the next day. My wife's menu was wonderful, so much effort taken to keep the flavours and theme of the food the same but still vegan.Valentines day was a special menu, but normalyl you can choose a lkac carte and you're looking at £20 each. It's just so well prepared and so little to do to serve yourself a wonderful meal. Unbelievable value, though we do look forward to getting back in the restaurant.

Sebastian’s restaurant is my favourite place to eat. The ambiance, quality of food and service is superb. ..... and now during the Coronavirus lockdowns we regularly have their takeaway service which is delivered to our door. Everything is presented impeccably with easy to follow instructions and it really is the next best thing to eating in their restaurant. Thank you Sebastians.

Walking past Sebastians just before Christmas and noticed a Home New Years eve menu which looked amazing. Just managed to get the order in - thank you Michelle and collected 4pm on the 31st. Brilliant menu Brilliant food and excellent instructions couldn't fault anything and supplied with hats, streamers ever. The 7 courses were amazing and perfect portion size too . Lobster Thermidor was amazing as wel the Celtic pride fillet of beef. Can't wait for our next Sebastians Special Dine at Home meal

Having made a last minute booking. Michelle managed to squeeze us in at the start of the Saturday night sitting. From walking through the door we received a warm welcome and the night continued in the same vain. Every course was well cooked, fantastically presented and delicious. A must for anyone visiting the area 5*.

Our first visit since the restaurant re-opened post lock-down. With disposable menus, socially distant tables and spending time at our very own dedicated table for the whole night, I felt very safe during my recent visit last week-end.Despite all the necessary precautions, we still had the best food & wine in the best atmosphere and relaxed over 3 hours with multiple courses. Always love the menu! So great to be back a restaurant which in our opinion cannot be beaten in Shropshire

Sebastian's are making home deliveries now that we're all staying at home. The meals are just as good as they were in the restaurant, and arrive cooked but cold, with easy-to-follow instructions on heating and serving, and great value as well. Obviously the statements about "visits" don't apply at the moment.

I celebrated my 40th with a group of 10, we challenged the restaurants to meet all our demanding requirements, such as nut allergy, vegan, and an allergen list that's quite long. They met all our demands, exceeded our expectation on quality and the service was very friendly where we were well cared for. Must go if you're in Oswestry, simply the best and good value.

Not our first visit to this exceptional dining venue and after last night far from our last.Again went with family and for one of our group this was a first visit, she was Vegan along with our daughter and the Vegan option was not only amazing visually but was a true delight to eat - both cannot stop talking about how good everything that was served.Michelle and the front of house team are marvellous and all tables are well attended and everybody’s needs taken care of without any fuss or panic.Obviously the magic happens in the kitchen and full credit to Mark and his crew for producing such amazing food.Yes this is fine dining and is expensive for some, personally I don’t think it is overpriced for the quality you are served and is a wonderful venue for any special occasion.

Went with friends. Service is unibstrusive but attentive, the atmosphere is really nice, very comfortable, sometimes with fine dining it can be a tad pretentious but here it's fine dining and comfort! The food was yummy, beautifully presented and it tasted divine. We dont go very often as its one of those places that's brilliant for a special occasion - very very happy with the whole experience

We had been meaning to visit this restaurant for years and it didn't disappoint. The meal was perfect and the ambience very luxurious and exclusive.

As a large family party, we celebrated a Diamond and 30th Anniversary together with a 50th Birthday here with a superb dinner, very comfortable accommodation and top class breakfasts. Mark and Michelle are lovely hosts and looked after us warmly and efficiently throughout. They couldn't have done more. We highly recommend the venue and the hospitality. Thank you.

A very good restaurant, service from entry was excellent and allowed to relax and choose cocktails and wine for the meal. Crab starter followed by main of Lamb was top end restaurant food. This is a must visit venue for people who appreciate good food

We stayed at Sebastian’s last year and had such a lovely time that we returned, last week, for a two night stay.

Made an online booking last week but was concerned that I’d had no confirmation so I called to check. As they are only open to receive calls from Tues - Sat I had to wait until today, the day before the reservation, to call to confirm. The lady who answered the phone said that they didnt have a reservation from me and that I shouldn’t have been able to book anyway as the were going to be closed anyway. Imagine a restaurant that closes in the middle of a bank holiday week! This is extremely disappointing as the event was a family meal for my daughter’s 21st birthday and I now need to make alternative arrangements with extremely short notice. Can I suggest that if you have an ad-hoc closure planned that YOU PUT IT ON YOUR WEB SITE. You had 4 days to respond to the booking and didn’t and now I need to manage the expectations of my family. A touch of professionalism next time please.

This was our first visit and were greeted warmly on arrival and seated in comfy chairs where drinks were taken, menus perused and orders taken. The 5 course set menu at £47.50 had limited choice but every dish sounded and proved both exciting and great tasting. The potato and white onion veloute to start was excellent and accompanied by a large selection of freshly baked breads. Both the scallops and mushroom Roquefort starters were also well received. A pear sorbet with lavender syrup cleared our pallets before our magnificent lamb and beef mains. Deserts and coffee finished a perfect meal. Service throughout was friendly and highly professional with particular praise for Elise and her mother.

One year ago, coming back from Ireland on our way to Oxford, we were booked to stay at Sebastians. But our ferry was cancelled and we arrived at 3.00a.m. We were captivated by the kindness and flexibility of the proprietors; the quality of the breakfast and the promise of the dinner-menu: so much so that we that we decided there and then to hold our imminent Golden Wedding Anniversary with them.

Restaurant with rooms we stayed one night. Fabulous from first greeting to breakfast before we left. The room was beautiful, comfortable and spotless. We were shown to our courtyard room and given fresh milk for our tea and coffee. there was a pod machine and ground coffee in the room. The meal was amazing from canapé to coffee. The mushroom starter was the best ever. We will be back. Couldn't fault it. Thank you both for a fabulous unforgettable stay.

Absolutely loved this restaurant with rooms First up Sebastian is a top class chef. The food was wonderful. Second up the welcome was outstanding. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble. He even offered to drop us off somewhere or collect us from a linear walk we were doing . This is a family affair and it feels like home. Sebastian and his wife are the best hosts you could wish for. Thanks to both of you for an exceptional stay It was also great to have a room to roll into at a reasonable price without worrying about driving home. Very secure parking ,makes staying there even better.

First time experiencing such a highly priced restaurant but it really was worth the money. Felt very well looked after and made us feel very classy! The canapés were sublime and the drinks were too! The food was very quick to the table and beautifully presented. Although the portions are small we still felt full by the end of it all. 10/10, well done!

We had a wonderful evening at this restaurant with rooms. My 5 course dinner was delicious certainly worth mentioning the mushroom Roquefort and the sea bass main course, the staff are delightful ambiance great. We were lucky enough to stay the night in one of the bedrooms which are decorated so beautifully and as a consequence so comfortable. Breakfast next morning maintained the standards of the previous nights dinner, what an amazing find we will certainly find an excuse to go back

We’d heard and read fantastic things about Sebastian’s - and those rave reviews were all spot on. I booked it for a big work anniversary and asked for a vegetarian menu. We weren’t sure what to expect. But the food, the service and the atmosphere were all just amazing. Every course was a winner and the evening was a great experience. It could not have been better. Visited here for the first time as we are new to the area. We found the food to be delicious the staff very helpful and unobtrusive and the surroundings and the music in the background to be relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed our night and look forward to visiting again soon.

The place is just a gem. From the cozy bar/waiting area with the blazing fire to the small but lovely dining room with friendly touches and decorations. The meals are delicious, I particularly like the sorbet in between. A real touch of class. The service is swift and with a smile. It’s a set meal (five courses) with a great choice for every taste. We loved it and will book again (and again)

The food here is fantastic. The menu has been expertly put together with a lot of care and attention. There is something for everyone on the menu despite the menu being small. All courses were superb and the table service was some of the best I've experienced. We had an issue with another couple on a nearby table who were arguing and swearing loudly in the restaurant, we mentioned this to the staff who dealt with the situation professionally and tactfully. This place is the best restaurant around for miles. The decor is beautiful. On arriving, the seating area by the log burner is stunning and very homely. Everything about the experience was faultless. I would recommend Sebastian's to anyone!

When you read lots of great reviews it sets expectations levels very high and this normally leads to being slightly let down. Well not in this case, the good reviews do not leave much head room to beat the expectation but well done to all here - over and above. Superb night ((we stayed as well) great hosts, the food was the star of the evening and yes we were surprised by how great this really was, so do believe the hype!!!

We visited again this weekend and I can honestly say the quality of food & service has never dipped. Amazing soup, scallops, pork & the highlight was the toffee cake and cinnamon ice-cream. Mark & Michelle's standards continue to deliver year after year.....best restaurant in the area

We try to go to Sebastians on special occasions as the food is always excellent and tonight, once again, we were not disappointed. It was a cold evening and we were welcomed in by Michelle to sit by a beautiful log fire where our gourmet evening commenced with drinks and canapés. We ordered from a small but well thought out menu and then went through to sit in the restaurant. The five courses were all delicious, portion sizes were just right and the flavours were exquisite. Such great attention is paid to the combinations of foods and how they compliment each other. The service is excellent and we are always impressed how they remember who ordered which dish.

Looking for somewhere special to go then look no further than Sebastian's. From the warm welcome you receive from the owner and the staff to coffee by the log burning fireplace the whole experience is a real treat. A beautiful dining room and superb food make this a complete pleasure to eat here. Cannot recommend that you try this restaurant enough.

We stayed one night recently and were overwhelmed by the whole experience from the fantastic greeting from Mark and Michelle, the excellent room(queen with spa bath) and the great additions such as warm milk for coffee brought to the room.

I booked here for my partners 40th birthday meal the evening of 22nd December. It was one of the best meals we have ever had, the food was just to die for and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff.

Fed up with spending a reasonable amount of money on distinctly average meals out we thought we would spend a little more and see if we could find something exceptional. We were not disappointed at Sebastians. It was worth every penny. Every mouthful was delicious from the canapes in the cosy bar area to the coffee and petit fours. The service was spot on, the staff are so smiley and attentive without being obtrusive and the pace was just right. We also stayed overnight in a deluxe double room which was comfortable and well appointed with an excellent coffee machine and a good selection of books. The breakfast was also very good with plenty of fresh ingredients. We will definitely return.

We had dinner here with friends on the run up to Christmas. It has an excellent reputation locally and rightfully so from the point of view of the food served though the rare fillet steak was far from rare and no member of staff were available to address this. This could have been an excellent experience but was spoiled by the restrictions of the restaurant itself. We arrived 10 minutes late having failed to park in their impossibly restricted car park. We were kept waiting for 10 minutes in their tiny entrance way which is also the entrance to the kitchen. When we eventually sat down for our pre dinner drinks, canapés were served, but before we had time to enjoy them or the drinks, they were whisked away to our very cramped corner table. The service rolled from that point. Each course followed in very quick succession- they had a routine and they were following it to the minute whatever we wanted! We had to ask for a wine list- as my husband was driving and our friends did not drink, I wanted to order just a glass. At that point the choice was limited to Merlot, Cab Sav or something Spanish the waitress couldn’t pronounce. I gave up as my main course was plonked down in front of me! Dessert options were very dull and coffee was spoiled by cream in the milk jug! We would have liked a post dinner drink but weren’t offered one as the lounge area was full and our table was being cleared.

I have tried a number of times to get a table booking at Sebastian’s but after our evening Dinner today I can only say that I did not try hard enough.

Food is divine and service is excellent. A little pricey but well worth it, the meadow rice pudding was simply stunning. Sta by the fire when we went In and had a drink while waiting to be seated, no rush, just nice and relaxed. Can't wait to go again :)

We have gone to Sebastian’s for our anniversary for last 5 years, it never ever disappoints. The food is perfection and the service is top notch.

Went to Oswestry for a break and managed to secure a table here at short notice. Exemplary service from the outset with a great menu and wine list. Good quality ingredients throughout.

My husband and I went for dinner just after our wedding anniversary as we had been given some vouchers. The restaurant and service is very good indeed, we had canapes and drinks on arrival while we looked through the set menu. We ordered wine with the meal and were not disappointed with our choices. Neither of us are a fan of sweets so we opted for cheese to finish for which there was a supplement. In total our bill came to £180 which was fairly hefty when objectively considering what we had. It was a very lovely evening but I'm just not sure it was £180 lovely.

Booked a table the previous night before arriving and was able to secure a table. We were greeted warmly and sat in the lounge area, where we chose our drinks and food orders whilst having pre-starters. We were then seated at our table where for the next 2 1/2 hours enjoyed the most amazing dining experience I’ve ever had.

My wife and I needed to visit Oswestry for a family occasion. We rediscovered Sebastians after many years to find it has excellent rooms which are well appointed. The bonus was the Michelin star type food prepared by Mark. Michelle and Mark could not have been more helpful hosts. A return visit is essential!

We stayed here for a couple of nights last week after attending a funeral in Shrewsbury. We both needed a bit of cheering up and looking after. We were enthusiastically met by Mark and Michelle on a very wet Thursday afternoon and helped with our luggage in spite of the downpour. We were shown to Room 2, a lovely double with exposed beams, super comfy bed and a power shower to die for. Had not intended to eat in the restaurant on the first evening but because of the weather we decided to. So glad we did, in fact we ate on both nights, because the food is exceptional. A few years ago we were lucky enough, on a couple of occasions, to dine at the very famous Wintringham Fields when it was owned by Germain and Annie Schwab, I can categorically say that Sebastians is the nearest I have come to this culinary standard since. A small Table D’hôte menu is offered, this is changed monthly, interesting and perfectly balanced, top quality ingredients, perfectly cooked, served and presented. Really high standards all round. Even the background music in the restaurant which created a sublime ambiance and real atmosphere (now that’s a managerial challenge on its own)

We received a very warm welcome upon arrival there is a good wine list at reasonable prices and of course wonderful food - my wife and I particularly loved the pidgeon and plum starter. The whole evening was excellent and we cannot wait to come back again.

The menus is limited but the quality of the food outstanding I would recommend the four course dinner every course was delightful. We also had a delightful breakfast here. Welcomed by staff on arrival; we relaxed on comfortable sofas in a charming panelled room to enjoy amuse bouches with a glass of our beautifully chilled bubbly before heading into the Dining Room. Every course was perfectly prepared and served. Our Starters of Smoked Ham Hock and Chicken; and Lobster, Crispy Squid and Mango were equally delicious. Our Mains of Celtic Pride Beef, and Welsh Lamb were sensational. The courses were well spaced and the ambience in the room added to the overall feeling of satisfaction. The surprise gem of the night for us was the chilled Tomato and Watermelon Gazpacho which was a true taste pleasure. We look forward to returning for the new Menu in August.
