Amazing food, nice staff and a quite good atmosphere. I recommend this to anyone who is in the area. The price was reasonable for the quality of the food. I would have added a bit more salad to the dishes but they were still amazing.

Food - we went to the same restaurant back january 2024 and food was much better. December 2024 - we've ordered same menu (beef tartar and tuna nicuoa salat) and it wasnt as good as when we visited back in january 2024. Feels like you went to a cheap option unfortunately. Service- staff should be more professional for this type of restaurant. ( this is my personal opinion) Atmosphere- i think its quite good. Table for two i think should be slightly bigger - i was ready to order few options at the same time and all that wouldnt fit on that small table by the window. Overal - so far this is the only place in my knowledge around Shropshire who can offer beef tartar. However we will be not returning. Feels like Service needs improving to January 2024 level. Thank you

Really lovely food with really lovely staff. People looking to try French recipes for the first time won't be disappointed with the very approachable menu options. My only complaint was that it was a little loud, we were right by the front door and were having to shout. Clearly a popular place but I would recommend researching quieter times if noisier atmospheres bother you.

Had the most fantastic meal. Food was lovely (had the Steak Deluxe) and the staff were warm and friendly. Couldn’t ask for more. Thoroughly recommend.

We come to this Cote in Shrewsbury quite a lot and the food is always very good, the staff are friendly, they send us nice offers with free cocktails to try, and the menu has a very good choice of items for everybody really, on this our most recent visit just before xmas for lunch my wife and I had a lovely 3 course lunch. Thank you all at Cotes and a Happy Xmas to you all !!

No steak - left at 12:45pm, surprising, sorry. Nice lady took our booking. Clean place but made mistake coming here. Had good food here before now. Menu choice not so great and with no steak left we decided to go home. Thx anyway.

Some friends and I went for a meal yesterday at 6pm. From booking over the phone, they were accommodating of changing our booking by 1 hour. We arrived at 6pm, the atmosphere was already lovely. Well lit, yet cosy, with a relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere. We were attentively attended to by Rachel, who was absolutely superb. Knowledgeable with regard the food and wine, candid, funny and helpful. The food we had was simply lovely. We had a variety of dishes and it was all well received. Overall we spent a very enjoyable 4 hours there. Well done to all the staff, and thank you for a lovely evening

So, booked in this restaurant tonight. Had a lovely afternoon chilling in Shrewsbury........a couple of drinks in Henry Tudor then headed to Cote Brasserie. The meal and wine were good, no problem. However, the service wasn't. It must be rocket science to bring mustard, vinegar and mayo to the table. Three times we asked, eventually it came twice, but by that time we'd finished the meal. Took the shine off it. Took the 10% service charge off the bill. The staff need to hold their hands up and stop making excuses, like, we're busy, we're rushed off our feet etc. It takes a couple of minutes to get mustard, vinegar and mayo to the table. No excuses. It was even more disappointing that the Manager didnt come to see us and offer to reduce our bill instead of us telling them that wwe're knocking the money off. Felt sorry for the waitress who was rushed off her feet but was trying to do a good job.

Went as a couple end of Nov. We had the usual Cote burger,the beef is usually perfect. At this visit it was not so nice,beef was strong like liver pate and not like the usual tender ground beef. Left a funny aftertaste. Apart from this the service and ambience was perfect and the Elderflower spritz cocktail was divine.

We stopped here for a drink. We had a lovely table outside in the Autumn Sunshine. Table advised reserved, we asked the waitress what time table booked from as looking for drinks..She advised available for us now as drinks only. We had a gorgeous bottle of Rose to share. We looked at the menu and good selection of food too. We would come back to eat

My partner and I went here for the first time for a celebration. We booked a table online and on arrival, Alina greeted us and was extremely friendly. Gabrielle served us and she was polite. We opted to sit in a lovely corner table of the restaurant that was empty and by the time we had eaten, the whole restaurant seemed full! Would recommend.

Food is okay, but portions are rather limited. Excellent choice of drinks. Its doesn’t feel anything supreme in the restaurant as advertised. Service was limited with English, couldn’t communicate properly. Some where nice some where distanced. Took long time for food delivery and overall with any requests despite the place being quite empty. Atmosphere rather dull quite dark, not much natural light, the place just doesn’t have that morning vibe you want to get in the morning to start another lovely day.

We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived at the restaurant, and that feeling continued throughout our meal, food, and drinks was excellent.

We enjoyed our visit very much on 10 September. I had the Fish Parmentier & my husband had the Mushroom Bourguignon - both really delicious dishes. The atmosphere was classy & sophisticated yet informal. Rachael K who served us was very professional, friendly & engaging. We shall visit again when in the area!

This is a great local dining option which we use all the time. Reasonable food, reasonable atmosphere, nice feel to the restaurant and lovely staff. Good consistent value for money.

We had breakfast, one cote and one french, well cooked, great ingredients, good presentation. Really enjoyed. Service great. Black pudding was so, so good. Real value too, especially if you have the breakfast with juice and drink.

Absolutely incredible food , wine and service. We came here for our pearl anniversary, complimentary prosecco on arrival, food incredibly quick to arrive. Fully recommend and will be back to check out more of the menu.

Very good, skillful meals at a very good price. Excellent superior pate, crab was decent but just lacked some flavour, steak and frites was spot on. Not the best cut of steak I've ever had but cooked superbly and cheaper than I expected. Garlic butter was excellent. You can tell craft and love is being put into the dishes. I'm looking forward to dining there again and again.

Since we were last here the prices have gone up alot and the quality of the food was poor. Not particularly hot, potatoes cold. Service was pleasant. Wouldn't hurry back here.

Second time we been to Côte and really enjoyed it both times. The food was lovely. I had French onion soup as a starter and Confit duck À L’Orange which I highly recommend trying. My boyfriend had Chicken liver parfait and moules frites. The service was quick and had a check-back on our mains to make sure everything was okay with our food.

Terrible roast chicken dry and stale, served with similarly stale potatoes. Cote Shrewsbury food has reduced In quality and increased in price. £18 for a dreadful half chicken, l would have had a much nicer meal at half the price at Nando’s. Service is wonderful (5 stars) but the staff are let down by the corporate cost saving processes in the kitchen.

Two of us ate here yesterday so not a huge order but still there were four issues, with weren't even resolved, does automatically including the service charge in the bill really ensure a good service? I'm not sure.... The food was OK, not impressed overall unfortunately.

We popped in for a late lunch,we have eaten at Cote in Bath previously so knew what type of food on offer,they also have a good gf menu.We went for the 2 course lunch we had a small charcuterie board and a salad au bacon, followed by poule grill :chargrilled chicken in creamy thyme & mushroom sauce with fries and herb salad it was all very tasty, staff very nice.

Fantastic as always, Shrewsbury is very lucky to have a restaurant of this quality. Food amazing, service the best I have had in a long time. Thank you we’ll be back very soon.

My son recommended the Cote, as he along with his girlfriend had eaten there before. We was made to feel very welcome, the menus were explained to us, which i thought was nice. The atmosphere and the service made the time spent at the cote very enjoyable. There was a very good choice of food on the menu. All the dishes we received was presented very well, and most enjoyable.

I could not fault our visit at all, from the welcome when we arrived to the moment we left we were very well looked after. The food was amazing too! I’d highly recommend to any of my friends.

We only stopped for coffees but the food we saw looked vert good. The staff were very welcoming and professional.

Superb breakfast and excellent service, good value too

Went here on a Saturday night for my mums birthday and its was very good. Service was exceptional with just the right amount of humour. The food was excellent too. I had the ribeye steak which was cooked perfectly and very tasty. Definitely one of the nicer places to eat in Shrewsbury. April 2024 update as we have visited again: Had a fantastic meal here for my dad's birthday. We had a lovely round table which was perfect as we could all talk to each other. The food was fantastic. We all had three courses and all agreed that the food was exceptional and very reasonably priced. I was happy to see that we had Tony as our waiter as I remembered him from the last time we visited, he was very attentive and easy to get on with. We really loved his sense of humour he got my dad laughing which doesn't happen very often. I was impressed by how Tony managed to serve all 5 of us very quickly without leaving any of us waiting for food.

We've been to Cote in Shrewsbury a number of times now and never had a bad experience. The food, service and location is great. There is outdoor seating available if you have a dog and also great for watching the world go by. If you're in Shrewsbury and after a nice meal I'd highly recommend Cote, we'll definitely be back!

Service was exceptional and can't be faulted, but unfortunately we were left somewhat underwhelmed by the quality of the food.

Friendly attentive waiter. Nice cheese souffle for starter. Beef bourguignon good portion size very tender. Fish pie nice lots of leeks inside so make sure u like leeks. Creme caramel for dessert and cheese board. It's not the best set out cheese board I have had, but the cheeses were very good. You can choose your own from a list of many. There is also a fixed priced menu to choose from, although our choices were from the main menu.

Very pleasant. Eggs Benidict Royal, was good. I would have added a little more mustard if making it. But good, eggs were perfectly poached. Unobtrusive service. I would thoroughly recommend.

Saturday 24/02/2024 Very busy which is good. However the service was good by the young waiters , but slow & we waited a very long time for our meal as busy. We shared a £9.25 Camembert. We’ve never seen such a small one! 3 tiny pieces of sourdough! Fish pie was small with 3 prawns, expensive for size! I had duck at nearly £18, small portion too! I bottle of IPA at £5.75 & not evan a pint! Rip Off we say and won’t be going again. Very expensive for what you get, we think.

My wife & I were visiting for the first time, it was our 26th wedding anniversary. As soon as we stepped through the door and welcomed by the server we had one of our best experiences in a restaurant ever! We were given a complimentary Kir Royale for our anniversary, it was delicious! We were told in great detail about the menu and the steak soirée. I have an allergy to Brazil nuts, I was assured that no dishes contained Brazil nuts but that was treated seriously as all my food came with a flag and I was told that certain dishes may contain nuts. The wine, oh the wine was out of this world! Believe me, we had an amazing experience tonight, the food is not cheap but it is worth every single penny! Thank you for a wonderful night.

I regret to say something terrible has happened to this restaurant. It was one of my favourite lunching places when in Shrewsbury but yesterday my wife and I sent our meals back and didn’t trust them to give an alternative. Everything about both dishes was poor. I understand Côte is a French chain. I have lived in France. If this place was in France there would be a riot of angry customers.

Arrived for brunch at 11.50am and was greeted with are you wanting breakfast or lunch. We said breakfast and then was told we had 6 mins to order which a bit rude. It then took 15 mins to take our order. The food was good but welcome rubbish.

Beef bourgouinon was amazing, so tender and beautiful sauce with mushrooms and onion and bacon. The potato puree was a dream. My partner ordered the filet and we had to send it back twice because they kept sending it out raw when we ordered medium rare. The second time it was overcooked on the outside and undercooked inside. Not impressed. the waitress was lovely and tried to sort this for us, but sending it back twice was not impressive. probably won’t go again, my partner ended up having stomach pain afterwards

Went for my birthday meal with my partner and had the most incredible evening. The food was delicious. The staff were absolutely bloody lovely. Very informed about allergies. Just glorious. Highly recommend
