Sea Salt + Sole in Aberdeen City

Been coming here for years and you used to get a decent amount of food for your money. It’s all different now though, the portion sizes are terrible. I’ve never had a fish supper before and still felt hungry afterwards until today. My dinner consisted of a piece of haddock barely bigger than a fish finger and a handful of chips. I don’t know why their rationing chips, potatoes aren’t exactly expensive. Very disappointed to say the least.

About 13quid for a fish supper, but you don't get tomato sauce, that's extra...Next we'll need to pay for salt and vinegar, just add 20p to the price to save the hassle when collecting having to go back to the till, we want sauce squirted over the chips ffs World has gone nuts, sauce with a fish supper should be standard ffs

Wow, one of the best fish suppers ever. Lovely crispy batter on the plump piece of haddock. Absolutely no grease on the chips. First class! I wish I’d tied the panko, next time.

Some of the best food you can find in Aberdeen. Top quality food and great selection. Unfortunately service from staff was very poor and made everyone feel very uncomfortable. A real shame.

Easy to order on SS+S website, collection very straight forward, fish and chips excellent, super light and crispy batter on the fish and chicken tenders, decent chips. Pickled onions were minuscule, but I can live with that :- 5*.

Me and The Wife i’ve been here twice now for a takeaway. Both have been to be honest The best down here and we have been to a few takeaways. This is our go to takeaway for fish and chips from now on. Parking can be a bit little bit of a nightmare because it’s right next to the railway station but apart from that all good not too long to wait time either. You can order ahead if you’d like on the website

Probably the best chippy I've ever been to! Good quality fish, well cooked, nice sized pieces of fish - lovely! My only gripe is they aren't open on Monday's which is the day I am most often in Dyce & wanting an evening meal! Apart from that, perfect! 😋

Got two breaded fish and it was very disappointing. Breading was twice as thick as fish. Fish thickness was close to sliced ham.. shame as we had fish from there before and it was nice thick and flaky. Won't buy from there again for sure.

Fish and chips and chicken fillets ..chips were mediocre ..chicken fillets good ..fish batter looked over done dark brown and dripping with grease won't be back..very expensive for considering the quality. Waited for a long time 3/4 of an hour even though we phoned in the order

This is the only chipper we tend to eat as it is the only one that doesn’t give us an upset stomach afterwards and I am assuming this is because it is not as greasy as other chippers! Would highly recommend the Katsu chicken fillets, if anyone can’t decide!!

Overpriced and under sized. Two fish suppers up by £4.50 since March and fish size much smaller.

First time I have used this Chipper at the Bridge of Don, but have to say I was disappointed. The chips were great but the fish was disappointing, the batter was very oily and soaked into the fish which was soggy and you could see the oil lying on the box under the fish.

The Dyce outlet is takeaway only. Telephone order was ready on time & tasted fantastic. Generous chip portions.

Visiting family in Aberdeen we visited the Cove branch for takeaway. Best fish and chips I've had in Scotland for a few years. Everything was spot on. Mushy peas were excellent, fish was very tasty. Fully recommend - great service.

We were all in the mood for a fish supper and read the reviews online of various establishments and this one stood out. Spotlessly clean with parking right outside. Friendly, well presented staff. Our fish was made to order. Massive portion and the fish was cooked to perfection, crisp, light batter, not greasy. The fish was very tasty as were the chips. Thoroughly enjoyable and I have no hesitation in recommending them

My first visit but it won't be my last, everything we ordered was spot on , fantastic quality and the fish was very fresh. I would definitely recommend a visit!

We placed order online, and to be fair all very reasonable good fish bit stingy with the chips. Arrived to pick up and 1 had ordered katsu chicken fillets, on the menu it didn't say anything about extras on the fillets like fresh chillies or spring onions. As I saw the young girl behind the counter prepare the fillets all with out washing her hands. So for the unhygienic reason never going back.

Food takes forever to prepare, the staff that take your order don't communicate with the service staff and as a result my food was given to someone else. I ordered two things that you'd expect to see ready in a chipper at 7pm on a Saturday night and as a result of my food being given to someone else I was made to wait an hour for a macaroni pie supper and a single white pudding. The food itself is okay, but the batter is subpar - either cooked too hot or the batter is too thin as it's too dry and greasy. Will likely drive last it in future to get a chipper

Posting on behalf of my 72yr mum. Weekly we order her either a pensioner's fish or chicken fillet supper. She was a chef in her day and says the batter is amazing, one of the best she has tasted, the portions are great value, the site is easy to use for placing an online order for collection (would be good if they delivered). An all round brilliant service, thanks

A great fish and chip shop overall. My first visit was 23/04 and it was very busy, obviously due to the high quality food set out. My food was served by an attentive and friendly young lady which topped my experience 👍🏼 Will definitely be back soon.

Ordered 2 standard fish suppers. For the price i paid, this was not reflected in portion size. Also i know it's fried food, however the fish was really greasy, and the box was saturated in grease. The taste of grease spoiled the fish.

Great chip shop the food is excellent but the waiting time even when ordering on line is an absolute joke, ordered our meal for 6.30pm and was still waiting at 6.45pm for our meal, I no they are busy but why take more orders from walk in customer when other people have time slots from online orders.

Food is good but is problem with collection, when you come for collect you must wait because food is still not ready. Time for wait around 30 minut.

Best fish nd chips, I'm originally from Dyce and when I come back to see family and friends I always head straight to sea salt nd soul for my fish and chips fix as there is no where like.

Tried it for the first time today just as they opened fish was very fresh batter light and crispy chips were lovely served by a pleasant assistant l will come back again and would recommend them to others must give them 5 stars on trip advisor on there l come as a tourist not by my name.

Our second visit to bridge of Don finished off a great day at newburgh beach we all had fish and it was top class great batter and chips cooked to perfection we will definitely be back.

We avoided the massive drive thru queue at Maccy D's and came here. Glad we did! No wait to be served, and the food was really good. Very tasty chicken fillets and fish. Folk with allergies are well catered for here too which is appreciated. Good Covid procedures which is really important just now. 👍👍

Not had a chippie as good as this since I left FortWilliam years ago, struggled to find one that makes you feel like you are by the sea side when your eating it and not caked in grease. Fish is superb and good size you get. Brilliant

Prefer the covid service to the pre lock down, online order little waiting around and food still really good.

Turned up just as they were closing but they kindly still served me and I have to say the food was very tasty indeed. I will definitely be back!
