Gluten Free - loads of choice and absolutely lovely. Even get offered gluten free vinegar. Everything is labelled. Thank you - we have now found an excellent fish and chip shop.

We had fish n chips, the chips had lots of black bits on them and tasted very earthy, the batter on the fish was greasy and soft, it tasted of old oil, never again over priced and horrible..

I don't know why all the bad reviews lovely chippy great staff the burgers are delicious portion size is great thanks door being on my doorstep 😋🍔❤️

Used to be a good Fish & Chip Bar,but now they serve reheated chips to customers at lunchtime.Who the hell is going to be happy with this at £2.50 for a small portion??

Had steak and kidney pie which was cold in middle tried ringing and was told to bring pie back by the time I got to take it back it would have been cold so couldn't prove that it was cold when I had it

This used to be a lovely fish and chip shop, now they give you reheated dry chips. Ordered a large piece of fish, half of it was batter. Every time I seem to go the price has gone up. They have lost a loyal customer because of their greed.

We rarely eat fast food but here we are happy to buy fish - gluten-free for me - it is tasty - I love this coating - I recommend

I visited this fish & chip shop whilst staying locally & ordered haddock & chips from the stern young lady on the till, who seemed very unfriendly towards me as she told me I would have to wait as the fish needs to be cooked, I was fine with that & prefer freshly cooked food anyway, so I sat down & looked at their menu on the wall which is very extensive including a wide range of delicious sounding burgers, fried chicken, kebabs as well as the standard chip shop items, including gluten free batter, I also saw several lunchtime good meal deals what sounded very reasonable in price. Several people came in and made their orders which were dealt with instantly, which is great news to me as some chip shops make you wait in line even if your order is just for chips which is a ridiculous system, sadly I kept hearing the chips being scrapped & scrapped with no fresh ones being cooked, i thought I would be lucky but no, when I heard my haddock was ready I got every last chip bit that was inside the unit, but the fish that went on top looked large & tasty, so I couldn't wait to get back to the car & start eating rather than wait to go back to my hotel room & risk it getting stuck to the paper, even though I chose not to have any salt & vinegar put on. There was a lot of oil when I opened the package with a strange aroma in the air,, my fish was broken on top as the batter wasn't crispy except at one end, the soggy underneath just resembled thick rubbery & very greasy jelly, not nice as it just all broke apart, but neither were the chips as most of them were just small hard cold bits, very disappointing for the price paid.

Chips obviously recooked from leftovers at lunchtime. Cod really oily. Good,portion and cheap. Perhaps that’s why

Stumbled on this place whilst visiting Taunton & wasn't disappointed. Clean on the inside, pre ordered en route & food was ready for collection on arrival Everything tasted fresh, fish was huge, plenty of chips but the kebab tasted amazing so fresh really enjoyed it. Would definitely return if we were in the area

I cannot fault the cleanliness or choice of food, however, what I can fault is the poor quality and presentation of their food. I had a cheeseburger, the worst that I have ever had in my life, the burger was tasteless, the roll was far too large, the cheese slice far too small, I couldn't even taste or see much of the relish. The chips didn't fair better as they were all squashed together making them look like cricket balls, stuck together and out of shape. Whilst their choice of food is huge, I did hear someone say early on in the evening on a busy weekend night that they had ran out of beef & onion pies!!! Never again for me!

Just had fish and chips from here, never again. The only thing going for it was the quality of the chips. Cod in batter, well batter like leather and fish over cooked, must have under the heat lamps for more than 30 minutes. Also over priced for the poor quality of food service at 9pm. Will never go back there, I'll go to my regular fish and chip shop where my fish Is cooked fresh in front of me.

This chip shop is amazing. Quality, value for money and a very good service. Never had any thing to complain about and have been using this chip shop for 11 years. Keep up the good work

Eiffel Tower and Devil's Pinch burger with small chips to share. Lovely size portion of chips, more than enough for 2. Burgers nice and tasty. Popular chippy and always go here. Don't agree it's gone downhill.

The restaurant/shop itself appeared very clean and tidy, products on offer were very clearly priced, and the staff were great, however, the products themselves weren't as great, the fish was very very expensive which didn't even include a portion of chips! Unfortunately, despite the high cost, the fish itself was quite dry, but the batter was very nice. However sadly, the chips were appalling, they all stuck together as well as on the cardboard carton. It was like a huge dollop of mashed up chips, I left more chips on the carton than I was able to eat. Fish and chips used to be known as a fairly cheap meal, but at nearly £14 for one portion of chips, one fish, one sausage, 2 peas and 1 gravy seem to be quite expensive especially as the quality just wasn't there. I won't be going back, there are too many other better fish and chip shops in town.

The southern fried chicken tastes better than KFC. Really tasty coating and nice pieces of chicken, not cheap and slimey. I'm very fussy about chicken and never normally pick right down to the bone... With this I do.

Such a shame, we've been using this chippy for years and 99% of the time the food has been spot on but in the last month, both times we've bought the cod it's been mostly batter and what fish there was was dry and the chicken which has always been so tasty was overdone and the chips have been a bit dry and definetly lacking in quantity! I'm assuming there's either a new supplier or a new cook, either way, we will not be ordering from there again unless there is a drastic change!

Have been going here for years and oh dear it's really gone down hill!! Southern fried chicken dry and overstood and fish very dry and almost inedible.

Have been going there for years but for the last year things have gone down hill and tonight I asked for large cod and chips twice and 5 southern chicken and curry sauce over £25 got home only to release they gave me small cod and hardly any chips The cod was dry and the chicken was bearly warm Never again Any one know for a good chippy

Ive been going to this chippy for years. The staff are always polite and helpful.Ive read some reviews on here and totally disagree.I see someone had put "only white trash" go here. (Well they must be white trash too!!!)The food i have fron here is always lovely whatever we may have.I see someone else also put "obese and unhealthy". Well first of all how can u have "healthy" when going to a chip shop where most things are fried!!???As for obese, im a size 10 so your comment about "only obese" customers you are clearly wrong.I have enjoyed this chip shop for many years and sure i will for years to come.Prices are very good and portions sizes are great.

I have in the past given a rave review for this shop and food.However today was the second time I have been given reheated fish.It's chewy, brittle and quite inedible.It went from the plate to the dustbinI thought shops had stopping practicing reheating last nights fish. It appears not.It's your business, it's your brand name. For £4 it's worth losing your good name for food. Odd business behaviourQuite honestly will not recommend or eat there again.

I'm sad to write this as use it regularly and normally great. Just popped in for a pasty. What I got was a microwaved Pucker pasty still in its plastic wrapping. Wrapped in chippy paper. All soggy. £2.80. Not impressed.

Since trying this place a couple of months ago I tend to pop in for a lunch time fish and chip treat at least weekly.

I do like their piri piri chips. The rest I say is your standard cod, fishcakes, etc really to be honest.

Was very rude to my partner was not happy food was ok but service terrible very arrogant and pretend not to understand

I was coming to here quite regularly,as mum,gave us money,to get fish & chips.

Just ordered cod and chips. Batter soggy and "cod" undercooked. Had to throw out the lot! They have a vast menu and they can't make up their mind if they are a fish and chip shop or donner kebab or pizza house!!! Bring back the good old fashioned English fish and chip shops. Too much on menu and that's why their not good at any of it!!! You can't be good at everything. Will spread the word and hopefully they'll get the message!

This location is near to our church and handy when there are evening meetings as well as conferences. We have used it several times. The food is great quality, good value and you don't have to wait long. Will use again. Very happy.

Our 'local'. Friendly staff, well priced & food is excellent. I recently had the 'Hamilton Burger' which was incredible. Best chip shop in the west.

Perfect takeaway for a night in - quick service, reasonable prices and good quality fish. Chips are a little soggy occasionally but usually quite good. Sausages are nice. Burgers are a highlight. Good selection of curry sauces. Love it.

well what a find, we needed a good hearty lunch after a hospital visit, Sea Bass cam into line of sight, mega quick service, and with a smile and a good old joke and laugh, the food was stupendous, best fish and chop in Taunton, probably I reckon, great value too, so you are on our list of "will come back to", thank you

Good hot freshly cooked food and plenty of it always served promptly with a smile seated area for a conveiniant and fast hot meal at the end of the workin day!!

Visited this chippy on a couple of occasions in the past month . Had cod and chips both times , well cooked , tasty and very generous portions .

We stopped in here for lunch. We got fish and chips as a lunch special (£3.80 per person) and we also got a kids meal (fish and chips). The kids meal came with a book, crayons and a free chocolate milkshake. We didn't dine in but got the food as take away. If you do fine in they charge you £1 per person service charge. Although not sure what the service charge would be for as they were not that pleasant. There was only 1 girl working who was clearly stressed as it was quite busy.It was a big portion even for the kids meal, chips were mediocre a couple of reject chips included. The fish was extremely greasy and very very wet with grease. So much so that I peaked all of the batter off as it had literally gone through 3 sheets of chip paper. The fish inside was ok but it still tasted of grease. I guess you get what you pay for. There are plenty of fish and chips out there so see what other options are available before selecting this one.

Very good fish Nice chicken and well cooked chips. Tried it on a sunday evening as only place we could find open for fish amnd chips and it was really nice. Impressed!

JUST RUDE, my 3 yr old daughter needed the toilet, they refused her, with the excuse the toilet floor was wet from cleaning and dangerous!!!! This is not the first time they are done this when a child needs the toilet (check out google reviews) they still are rude and NO common decency. Wont EVER be going back there for chips.

Called into this fish and chips shop last night as our usual fish and chip was closed until 11th January. Ordered 4 cod pieces and half portion of chips. Agreed that the fish was cooked will I waited. Got this home, unwrapped it only to our disgust the batter was not cooked.It was disgusting to eat and had to throw it out.I/We'll never go there again.My advice STAY CLEAR and on top of that over priced too.

Ordered 2 large kebabs, (look at photo) there was lots more salad than meat, served in a tiny tray, i Spoke to shop and they say when you next in we give you free kebab. My advice they've lost a customer. Sooner go to munchies takeaway cos u ask for a large kebab you get a large kebab.

Had a rare takeaway past night from here I ordered chicken kebab only for it to give me food poisoning! Been sick all night and now my daughter is ill this morning after the sausage and chips! Never eating here again,clean your kitchen or train your chefs to cook!

This chippy refused to allow my 2 year old daughter to go to their toilet despite her being in obvious distress. I used to go here semi regularly: never again

Nice modern and clean looking chippy. Very easy access and parking. You can eat in or out. Staff helpful enough. Doner Kebab was very good, the chips come just how I like them. Well cooked and brown. Many thanks

Absolutely delicious! On initial look they appear more expensive than the average chippy, but the portion sizes are considerably better value for money than other places around here. Very tasty and always great service. Thoroughly happy with this becoming my go-to chippy

We've lived here for 6 months now and it has taken a while to find a decent chip shop, and here it is!Everything is cooked fresh and it can really be tasted. The fish was gorgeous and the chips were what I'd term 'proper' chip shop chips. Big and soft and not dried and crunchy.Beware though, the portion sizes are mammoth. A large chips could serve 3 people and a small could do two!
